Would anyone else be curious if this happened
what if the devs actually nerfed killers with the most popular complaints against killers. For an example:
(Anti Camping and Tunneling)
(nurse reworked with a new power)
(blight’s alchemist ring nerfed)
(3 gen more spread out)
I wonder what would happen, I’m very curious on how different the game would be

Nurse being reworked would be a suicide on account of BHVR, but the others imo would be fine. Surely they would need to adjust and maybe buff most killers a bit individually, but it wouldn't be that bad. You would have plenty of topics (even more than now, that is) of killer players complaining, though.
Kill rates would drop so hopefully killers would get buffs or certain other things would finally be addressed; maps for example.
These happen few times before, killer would eventually git gud and new meta will be made, and people will start complain the new meta.
Blight is a perfect example,he was being said that the perfect killer being designed, balance and fun to play and play against, but now he becomes the new target.
That would probably kill the game. Survivors can't play, if there are no killers and killers won't play, if they get punished for absolutely everything. Think about it:
1) Spreading pressure, nerfed because many don't like having to care about something other than gens while not in chase.
2) Tunneling. Completely impossible because a survivor that got hooked would be invincible until every other survivor got hooked.
3) Camping. An instant loss for the killer because survivors need to able to unhook themselves, become invincible for as long as the killer is still on them.
4) Slugging. With base kit Unbreakable in 15 seconds (I've seen people that wanted this) and probably no more bleedout timer this becomes useless.
5) Chase powers. All have to get nerfed until we reach a level where every killer is around the same as Hag without traps in chase. After all, how else would a survivor be able to loop a killer for 5 gens.
6) Bloodlust. Removed.
7) Mobility. Nerfed to the ground because it allows the killer to spread pressure.
8) Territorial play styles. Completely removed because we don't like killers defending the last 3 gens.
9) Second objectives. Removed because they make the game harder for solo survivors.
The list goes on.
I wouldn't want to see things changed based on whoever can scream the loudest. I might be vocal about some things, but I always try to back it up and explain why the mechanic/add on/power is problematic. But I don't agree with the consensus on many things and don't think the community quite understands the game like they think they do all the time.
Some examples:
Bloodlust can't be removed until they fix issues with map design, and so far they've shown zero awareness as to what is making them problematic. To be clear, I mean the map design team, not the balance team. The balance team seems to fix them years later, but the map design team seems like they shut off all communication during the design process. Bloodlust has to exist as long as maps like Lerys, Borgo, Eyrie, etc, exist. You can't put large rectangular or oblong filler structures on maps that don't have any way to pass through. There's no cutoff angle to take as a killer. The only option is to follow in a straight line. If a survivor is good at the game, they will hold W around the random slab of rock for 15-30 seconds before pathing to an actual tile. Without bloodlust, gameplay at the top 1% would be horrendous.
I think Nurse is fine. I think this is a classic case of git gud. It is so exceedingly rare to play against anyone who effectively breaks LOS. It works, you're (speaking to the general playerbase) probably just not doing it at all. Players usually run around a single corner and double back directly into me while I'm still in the air, or they continue to run out into the open after running around the single corner. It's still shocking to survivors that Nurse has 2 blinks in 2023. Generally speaking, players could not make it any easier for the Nurse player. But a good player with run around a corner and then break LOS again from that first LOS break, which turns the Nurse's second blink into an educated guess, or it forces her to eat the fatigue. If you just make her miss or go through one blink blink cycle without hitting you and hold W, you have a comparable chase time to a good Wesker, Oni, etc.
Nothing, game stays still at 60% kill rates, majority of players will not be affected.
At this point I'm starting to wonder why I bother even playing the game as a killer, because it seems like the opposite side is only ever interested in punishing me for playing the game.
There are days it feels that way. Hang in there!
What's interesting is that the level of 'agreement' about these things is by no means equal.
Camping and tunnelling can be annoying and oppressive, especially at their extremes, but they can also be necessary for a Killer to remain competitive in a game. It's not always easy to fix the edge cases without also interfering with the more general flow of the game.
Nurse is OP, but you don't need to throw out the baby with the bathwater. I would like to see her blinking less often, but also not HAVING to blink as often, so her move speed would need to go up to compensate.
Blight has ridiculously good add-ons and he should have to share them with the rest of the class. Some Killers have uselessly weak add-ons or ones that literally don't work, so a Killer with an incredibly strong power having such incredibly strong add-ons too is a little insulting (also see Spirit).
3-gens being more spread out would require a lot of map adjustment, and if gens overall end up being further apart you need to do something about map size or Killer move speed, since there are already a lot of maps where Killers with no mobility suffer horribly. The nerf to CoB and to a lesser extent Overcharge have made this playstyle less feasible, and if you've not already secured 1 or 2 kills by the time you hit the 3-gen you'll probably still lose if you aren't Skull Merchant (and can still lose even if you are Skull Merchant).
I'd appreciate it if you'd also mention things that Killer mains complain about too, like genrushing, supercharged toolnboxes, a lack of perk diversity, Killer imbalance, Adrenaline, SWF bully squads, and horrible map design, but I get the feeling Survivor mains are more vocal on this forum.
Even when players say anything about Killer's issues they are met with "git gud" and all that
Instead of trying to understand what is wrong...
I am always for the devs to "cave in" into many of those outrages demands for a weekend just to show many delusional people what kind of horrible consequences their suggestions would have, from nerfs to S tier killer, taking out any possibility for the unloved killer play styles, over nerfing swf/showing which survivor is Ina premade Team up to the official (so it's immediately public knowledge) removal of any DC penalty.
Just to see the car wreck burn and those demanding people react to it.
