and so should hooking survivors
People use it too offensively and can cheese you out of a kill with no counterplay. I'm fine with DS as is, but in my opinion it should be deactivated during endgame.

Copy and pasting this from a comment I made on another DS post:
I think Scott Jund almost nailed it. His idea was DS last for a much shorter time, like 30 seconds after being unhooked. If you are in a chase then the timer does not go down, it could last all game as long as you are always in a chase. If you touch a gen, get in a locker, touch a totem, heal a teammate or any action like that at all, DS deactivates. However, since this would make DS an anti tunneling perk only, I think a longer stun time or even better, a speed boost for the survivor during that stun time, would make DS better as it is only possible to use this to stop a tunneler. This way the perk can't be used offensively. It only works if that survivor is being genuinely tunneled otherwise it will have deactivated, and it gives the survivor the time and/or speed to get away. Mix this with quick and quiet or dance with me or a similar perk and the survivor is saved from the tunnel with no way for the perk to be abused. If anyone can find a flaw in this, let me know cus I would like to see it. This seems like the perfect way for DS to work.
I think it should be deactivated during endgame.

I do play killer, and I don't camp. Works fine for me most of the time. I agree that genrushing hurts killers, but the reason I say camping is unfair is because of the following:
Consider this: One killer, four survivors. The killer's winning objective is a spectrum. Ideally, you get all 4. Losing would be having all 4 escape. Anything in-between is sort of a medium thing, depending on how ambitious you are.
Survivors' winning objective is binary. It's survive, or die. Especially when you're not Surviving with Friends, where you can properly root for your allies' survival on an emotional level, or feel good that you made someone escape at the cost of your own virtual life.
Here comes camping. Camping takes the full control one survivor has over the game, and stuffs it deep, deep inside the trash. It's exceedingly rare that a skilled killer loses this scenario somehow. The killer, during camping, is in full control, while the hanged survivor has only two choices: Live or kill themselves. Killing themselves sounds fair enough because well. You can just get to the next game, right? Wrong. It gives the killer points that they didn't work for and makes you an ass for not giving your allies time to escape while you suffer the worst.
This is why it's unfair. It's 4 vs 1, yes. But as a survivor, you wanna escape. And any option of fighting for it is taken away from you.
Now don't get me wrong, I know that killers don't have it easy, that survivors have the edge when they play as a team and tactically sound. But that does not change the fact that camping is trash. Find other ways to balance the game, don't be lazy and say camping is legit.
You get what I mean?
They DID work for those points. They downed and hooked you. Jerks that do it to be jerks are jerks. But at a point, the killer realizes he isn't going to get a kill and must camp.

I totally forgot about Whispers! I'll give it a new ability. I'll also change his name to Revenant, that sounds way more threatening.
I thought maybe give an effect when someone starts working on a totem? Cause Jason is terretorial, so something like that might work.
-
And I think The Revenent fits better than the camper, imo.

I like it, although whispers already exists and is like mothers shrine. Other than that, it's great!

You are the one in the wrong here. You berate him in end game chat for using a game mechanic, call him a pos, then false report him by saying he used homophobic slurs. This is definitely bannable.

Amazing argument!
old ruin only worked against purple ranks and below, get real. New ruin works no matter how skilled the survivor is. And with upcoming undying hex ruin will just see more value at red ranks. Calling it now undying ruin will be meta.

"onis" is a legendary, and changes the character, while I agree the sword could and should be able to be swapped out, the rest of the outfit changes his skin colour entirely and would look weird af, the hades outfit, have you actually looked at it? The chin and head are connected and mixing and matching those would cause clipping issues with every other outfit he owns, it's a completely different body shape, and the pyramid head is a special case due to being a licensed character and have had to keep to whatever Konami wants them to keep to.
I'm sure they could make slighty different models to make clowns body and head usable on other models.

What point are you trying to make here? Of course they're doing it for money they know it, we know it, they know we know it. Its not like they were trying to hide it.
Just pointing out that I don't have a problem. Just putting my thoughts out there.

Sure, take Janes dress and mix it with other clothing, then they get thousands of bug reports of the dresses clipping into other outfits which they then have to fix, or make the dress ugly af just so it matches with other outfits,
Or take the Nea set, and have all her other hairs clip inside the hood so everyone complains about the clipping issue etc etc.
I said the ones that could obviously be mixed. Onis sword on the minutour outfit, clowns getup in the Hades outfit, pyramid heads last two sets,
-
@Seanzu said:
Uhm - they've never stated they weren't doing them "for money", but the sets that have come out would have pretty dubious mix & matching with other outfits, the clipping and issues they would have with other outfits would be an issue, and is why they're sets.
I mean the sets that could obviously be mixed with others.
-
Just use barrels and trees against slinger. Break LOS and he's a slow M1 killer. Spirit, heal as often as possible. She also gives an audio queue when she is phasing. Pyramid head is a little trickier, but don't greed pallets and stealth around.

Thanks, but I was talking about like Pennywise, or Jason, or Pyramid Head even, but thank you though I will remember that
In that case, go for hulking behemoths. Slasher villains arent usually scary looking, so try making a big dude in a mask.
-
A good villain is one you can almost sympathize with. Think Joker from the newest movie. He gets hurt, mentally and physically, until you sympathize with him and forget he just killed his mom.

Rescues are an intended part of the game. If survivors were not supposed to be rescued they’d automatically die on first hook.
Hook cycling is how the game is supposed to go. That’s why you can’t block the unhook prompt or trap too close to the hook and it’s why stuff like BT, Devour Hope and Make Your Choice exist. It’s why survivors are marked down by the emblem system if they leave a teammate to die on hook and why the killer is rewarded for hooking multiple times. The entire game is balanced around it.
Yes, but i play to get kills. Before you say anything, No I don't outright face camp, but I will when neccecary. If I can, I won't let you get the unhook.

The op is talking specifically about facecamping potential, which is an issue that Bubba's rework was meant to address and failed to.
Your sarcasm is lost on the fact that the op said or implied nothing of what you remarked.
He said, verbatim, " so we can get rescues ".

Because Head On:
- Requires a locker for use
- Requires the survivor to not be exhausted to use
- Causes exhaustion after use
I have trouble understanding why this perk requires three seconds sitting idly in a locker prior to activation. Perhaps the idea is to prevent its use in a chase/after a wiff by a locker; but I would say it is a ballsy move and on par with using other exhaustion perks in a chase anyways.
That it can't be used with stillness crows is stupid as well. If a killer really doesn't know how to count to 60 to not get hit with DS (or so they suppose), they deserve to be slammed with a locker to the head when going to search it. I'll happily sit all day in the locker while my team does gens if that is how the killer wants to play.
So you do the locker tec, AND want to remove counter play for head on. What a fun person.

"I want the killer to let me win" is basically what you just said.

Gotcha
