I agree, it's good but not good enough. It should have been reworked so it grows weaker with each totem cleansed. Maybe each survivor that cleanses a totem before the gates are powered is unaffected by the instadown? Blessing boons doesn't count.
-
"I won't play killer again until they:
1. delete all the blind and stun perks and items,
2. limit SWF's total perks to 4 from 16, can't take the same items."
Neither of these is going to happen.
-
I get uninstalling, I do it when I don't want to be tempted to play something. It's easier to break the cycle if you get an impulse to play and you realize "Oh wait, I have to reinstall it? Never mind."
-
@[Deleted User] said:
why uninstall if the patch is in like 4 days and you’re gonna play anyway? lol
Where has it been confirmed that the patch is coming next week?
-
Have the devs confirmed the update is next Tuesday?

Also, tier 1 self care takes 64 seconds, and the game considers you to be afk after being in the same place for 60.
Pretty sure that's only if you're not doing anything, right? Like if you're healing I don't think you'll get crows. If I'm wrong tho...

Those are good changes, I hope Bhvr implements them

It was so very rare that people used dead hard for distance against me. I’d say 10% of the time, at most? 5% of the time?
Bald-faced lie

The counter play is - if they get bloodlust, everyone is agreed the chase has went on for long enough. So whats the issue?
My problem is survivors running round the whole map. Its toxic.
Poor bait tbh
-
Funnily enough, the best way to make use of these changes as survivor will be with Prove Thyself and No One Left Behind since their BP bonuses take effect during the trial and not after (like WGLF used to). I find that funny because Bhvr's whole reason for nerfing BBQ and WGLF is that they didn't want people to use perks to get more BP, but the most realistic and efficient way for survivors to actually be able to benefit from the category cap increases is to equip perks for their BP bonuses.

"Deal with the devil"
Cringe.
"SWF can do something so evil"
Oh wow, even cringier.

The feedback was awful for the reward. For the perk changes tho the feedback was fine
No it wasn't? There was a ton of negative feedback for many of the perk changes.
-
Never forget the mile long fences
-
It might be a bug but it's happened to me, too.
-
At least Bhvr is consistent. Most of their challenges and rituals suck.
-
I don't get why people want to argue about every single thing. Not only do you get 100% extra BP with BBQ, it also gives you a secondary goal to complete. If I only got 1-2 kills but I still managed to get 4 tokens on BBQ, that is very satisfying in itself. Now there isn't even a token function to the perk at all.

It definitely sounds frustrating. A lot of players are slower to react to the terror radius for various reasons. Could be a disability, or it could be the gameplay environment. I'm guilty of assuming every teammate is playing like I do, with a pair of good headphones in a quiet environment. The TR is easy for me to hear. Reality is, a lot of players are probably playing on TV speakers from across the room and may have a lot of background noise.
Yeah that could be it. I'm over it now, but sometimes it feels like playing this game solo isn't 4v1 but 1v1v1v1v1 lol
It is helpful to think the way you do and give people the benefit of the doubt, though, that's for sure. I don't always do that, so thanks for the reminder!

hahahaha you gave me a fright cos I lose track of time and months easily at the moment.
As to the topic answer, I do not have a release date that I can share yet, as soon as I do...I will share it.
Lol it's ok. As you can see, it happens to me as well.
-
Yes, June 2023.
I meant August.
-
I'm guessing they're going to be doing more changes than usual from this ptb, so I would expect it either the last week of July or first week of August

No problem, you can gaslight the Killers you come across if they're offended by it too.
Also, I can't believe some people get offended by comments people make on a forum. I think their egos are so big that something so small as words on a forum sends them off the deep end.
Don't say gaslight for one hour challenge. Go!
-
Even if they removed teabagging people would just find other ways to substitute teabag. I'd avoid any online multiplayer games if you can't handle being teabagged
-
I see her as often as I do most killers, which is just once in a while. Most people seem to play Huntress, Legion, Nurse, Blight, or Nemesis.
Rarest killers are Hag, Twins and Artist.
-
Huh? It's what it was designed to do. If that particular area is too strong then the devs can fix it somehow, but it's not abuse.
-
The goal of this update seems to have been "make people stop using these perks and start using these other perks instead." Meaning, balance was an afterthought.

That's the point of a ptb... so they can decide if changes will be a disaster, good or bad for the game.
I think it's mostly for bugs lol

I love all the answers. And thanks to the people who are more knowledgeable of the lore than me, it's very interesting!

You could read my post because I do mention this. Muting constantly every single damn game gets old fast and when there is a way to communicate that you can disable, the ‘lovely’ people find other ways to lash out at you rather then not having the option in the first place and accepting the lack of its existence.
Way it stands now the little jerks suicide themselves on hook raging to nobody and that suits me fine. It’s not ideal but it’s better then the alternative.
Honestly I do find it odd the game doesn’t have it but I am VERY glad it doesn’t. Every game I’ve played that has some form of communication gets abused more then used. In dbds case the game is over and either I or the little raging toddler has left by then.
Most games let you select mute in the settings once. You don't have to do it every single match.
None of anything else you wrote is relevant to what I said.
-
@Slowpeach said:
Abuse is a good reason frankly. The lack of comms is one of the reasons I play Dbd and not other games. I’m sick to death of people pinging repeatedly in anger, yelling or typing abuse at me in chat that I’m playing the game the wrong way in their opinion, which often vary wildly and even in the same game between two people can be outright contradictory. Yes you can mute people but I’d rather not have to constantly filter nonsense if you are asking for my honest opinion.
Other games have it and don’t care about the abuse but this really is a case of ignorance is bliss. They can just suicide themselves on hook and go next like the toxic jerks they are until they find the perfect team that doesn’t drag them down (spoiler alert: this never happens). Lack of comms outside of people you want to make the effort for is bliss.
I guess if it wasn’t the default setting I’d tolerate it so if people want to hurl abuse at each other they can but honestly I’d like if more games actually did what dbd did in this regard. Still watch people fume about not having the voice chat on so they can yell abuse at you.
You could always just.. mute voice chat.
-
Because they don't want to reduce the grind THAT much.

Lol

No I think it's a good nerf. Especially when you're exhausted. It literally makes no sense in the slightest that when you're badly injured and then you're exhausted as well as injured that you're as silent as the night running around.
The amount of times the killer lost me just hiding behind something with iron will since Im making no sound in the slightest. You actually make more noise when you're healthy than when you're injured. It just didn't make any sense.
Not to mention poor spirit. The survivors took the standstill mindgame from her for themselves. Unless she was running cherry blossom and I didn't know it there's times she'd be going into phase and I just stood still and completely lost her. It was not balanced.
"Especially when you're exhausted. It literally makes no sense in the slightest that when you're badly injured and then you're exhausted as well as injured that you're as silent as the night running around."
Nothing is balanced in this game in a way that "makes sense" as far as realism goes. That is not a valid argument for this game. If this game was realistic 99% of the survivors would die very quickly from their first time being hung on a giant meathook
To OP: because your nerf would take time and effort to create a new mechanic. I watched McLean, who use to be a developer for DBD, comment on this update and he said Iron Will is an all or nothing perk. If you don't totally eliminate injured noises there's no point because someone with a headset will hear you. You might trick people playing on their TV speakers but that's it.

It's a scam

Fire Up, Brutal Strength and Bamboozle on Wraith with his add ons that speed up actions ❤️

Nobody is abusing a perk just by virtue of using it, no.
But that does not mean perks cannot be abused.
Sticking CoH at a distant safe loop, and then running to that safe space after every hit while another team mate takes aggro and repeats that process, puts the game in a stalemate that the killer cannot resolve. Only by committing to an unwinnable chase, in order to snuff out that totem, and thereby guarantee they lose the final gen. After which the illusive booner can just rebless and repeat.
With sufficiently coordinated survivors, this is as unplayable for the killer as a Boil Over in the corner with no hooks within 50m, and is tantamount to taking the game hostage.
Is that 'abuse'? I suppose it depends on the intentions of the survivors, which isn't possible to confirm, but fairly easy to infer.
"Is that 'abuse'?"
No.
-
If he had no tracking or aura perks/add ons then either he got incredibly lucky, one of your dead teammates helped him, or he was cheating.
-
Two minutes per gen? It's wild to talk about entitled survivors that need to get better at the game but in the same post seriously say it would be balanced if the gens took two minutes to complete.
-
Confirmation bias.
-
1. DBD drops SWF
2. Many, many people stop playing altogether
3. Some SWF groups stay and simply lobby hop until they get grouped up together (much easier with less players)
4. Queue times for killer are 10, 15, 20 minutes
5. DBD stops making money so they let go a lot of staff or move them to other projects
6. New content and balance updates slow to a crawl
7. Game gets increasingly stale and playerbase drops even more
8. New players avoid DBD because of the massive grind + lack of future content and updates
9. Only dedicated players remain and they group up together over Reddit/forums/etc and communicate via Discord or console party chat. Every single game is a sweatfest

But they didn't do that, did they?
Self-Care isn't useless, you can still stack it with Botany and a good medkit for some pretty solid heal speeds and you can still use it the way higher-skilled players do (EG, healing a little bit at a time, often during chase). It's just even less appealing to bring on its own to heal all at once. Which, y'know, it should be. The point is for people not to run it anymore.
Yes, they did.

I wonder how many people would disconnect if I did 50 games as survivor and every time I'm injured, I go to the corner and heal with the new nerfed self-care.
I'm all for this experiment.
-
@jesterkind said:

Well, how else do you stop people from using Self-Care?
I'd argue this is better than trying to buff other self-healing sources, because almost every other self-healing source is already better than Self-Care to varying degrees. You risk something being absurdly broken if you try and make it more appealing than SC by simply buffing it, after all.
The only way to change the meta and to get people to stop running perks like SC is to make them worse.
Making a perk not only useless but an active hindrance to your team and a benefit to the killer (especially solo queue) is not a great method of balance.
-
I think you could make a case for getting rid of Sadako's, but everyone else is fine.
Huntress absolutely needs one, and Freddy's is one of the few things that makes him, well, Freddy. There's so little about that character that seems uniquely connected to his license that I would not want them to get rid of the lullaby.
I think instead of increasing Deathslinger's TR they should have given him a lullaby tbh.
-
I watched a survivor Self Care against a Legion last night on live and was reminded how painful it is. It's going to get so much worse and simply because the devs are trying to change the meta even if their changes make absolutely no sense whatsoever
-
I like both of these killers. I do hate that Myers can remove you from the game because other survivors fed him stalk, tho.
I don't really get why people think Pinky Finger is incredibly strong. Does a Clown really save a ton of time by hitting you with a bottle then downing you? In my experience it usually takes them 2-3 throws to hit me when they surely would have just hit me with a basic attack by then anyway. It is kind of annoying when they chase you up your ass just to get you with a bottle because they can't hit you from any further, but I wouldn't say it's overly strong. Maybe I'm missing something or have never gone against an expert Clown. I rarely see him

Yeah level 4 is a doozy lol. The only thing left I really want is Meg's skirt and that's in the next tier or 2 so I'll probably give up after that

If they just replaced those ugly charms that change colors throughout the rift with blood points I don't think a single person would complain.
