Yup, that hotfix ruined whatever little performance fix we had from the mid-chapter patch.
-
Here's some more just because.
Coyote hanging out in back yard and making dogs jealous that it gets to roam around without a leash.
Moose up in Canada that I was told to quit trying to call over to be my friend.
Squirrel I tried to offer my camera to in exchange for friendship.
Some animals at local fair
My dog loving the snow one year and wanting all the smells in/under the snow.
My brother's old dog.
-
Should've brought a key if they wanted hatch escape or played 4swf to tell buddies to leave so they could get hatch. They could've gone to exit, they chose not to.
-
I feel like every couple of days they increase rate of a certain map. It's been a thing for me for the longest time - I'll just get the same map over and over in a game session. I'm convinced when the Game map was supposed to be x2 it was actually Haddonfield - which my Trapper very much appreciated. π
-
I played the early access last week. I had fun playing it. I kept switching back and forth between campaign and versus. Game itself felt good, I'm on PS4 and the performance felt smooth for me. There's definitely some tweaks they can make to the overall gameplay.
Versus will be rough if they don't have good matchmaking system. It's fun when evenly matched but if you're not it's not a good time. I like that they have you play both sides - especially when I played the ridden and saw that they could see me the entire time setting up before the match.
The bots need a bit more work - I had mine get stuck randomly on walls by doorways or like in the 4th part of act 1 they'd run down into all the zombies to get themselves killed instead of staying with my team up top. Kind of felt like they were trying to get killed instead of being helpful AI and the zombie AI were smarter than the bot AI.
It was super satisfying when I'd hit a zombie with my bat and their head would explode, so disappointing when they'd just collapse with no head explosion.
Planning to hop on and play again this weekend at some point.

Yeah, it's becoming such a problem, I get more and more worried my PS4 is going to overheat. DbD's fog and smoke effects have always been the big things that set it off, but now the fans get loud even when there's not a lot of fog on a map.
Players have been reporting for years that the fans on the PS4 get loud on the menu and offering screens, and BHVR has done nothing. Seriously, they couldn't fix the opening menu screen? No game should be resource heavy on a menu screen. Ugh, that just ticks me off.
Between performance issues and the fans sounding like they're trying to blow up my ps4 it keeps any DBD sessions of mine very short - maybe an hour or two at most, sometimes only couple matches. I end out only playing maybe couple times a week because I don't want to deal with performance issues or push my luck with the way my ps4 sounds while DBD is going.

It's a hairstyle those with medium-long hair use in sports because it's a useful style when working out or competing. If you watch a women's UFC match it's a popular hairstyle for the fighters. Meg is sporty, she has a hairstyle used often by women of all races in sports.
-
Yeah, whatever they did in that hotfix made the already bad performance issues worse on PS4.

With every update, the fans on my PS4 run louder and longer. DbD is the only game that makes the fans run. It used to be just the "press x to continue" and offering screens that turned the fans into jet engines, but then it spread to the Survivor and Killer menus, and now the fans are running all the time during matches. It obscures the game audio! I even opened the console up and cleaned the fan, but that didn't help.
The Switch runs silent but the framerate is super choppy and killer is damn near unplayable. My PS4 has an SSD attached so DbD runs smoothly, but the fans are so damn loud it's actually become a problem. It's really unacceptable.
The fans on my ps4 are so loud with DBD, about as loud as the AC in the room. Nothing else causes the fans to react like that - no other games, no streaming apps, not the ps store, nothing. My husband has turned off my ps4 when I've had DBD up but I left the room for a bit because he thought it sounded like it was going to die if it kept going.

Well I still just find it weird that they "accidentally" leaked the killer before ptb.
It wouldn't be first time with licensed DLC. With Stranger Things people figured it out because the actors and DBD twitter started following eachother before the actual announcement. π
-
Yes, because I want Jaws as a killer. π
-
I see a heard of beautiful wild ponies running free across the plains.
-
Would love a Puppet Master DLC with the different puppets to attack survivors with.

Leatherface, Freddy, Michael, Ghostface, Pyramid head, Nemesis, and Pig, all killers that we have seen before the year 2000 (Nemesis almost being modern but is 1 year short, 1999) (And I don't count Demo given he's really not that iconic. For Stranger things? Yes, but not in a general sense like all the others, also he's in season 1 out of 4, can't really compare him)
There are so many slashers and creatures that have come out since 2000 that BHVR haven't even touched. My Bloody Valentine, The Mist, Dog Soldiers, Slither, A Quiet Place, Hollow Man, American Psycho, Purge, etc.
And don't forget the games like Dead Space, Fear, Amnesia, Siren, Fnaf, Evil Within, Outlast, etc.
Some of these might not be iconic to you, but they ARE iconic to others.
All these deserve some position in the "Horror Hall of Fame", and yet all we've seen is ancient history.
My Bloody Valentine was a 1981 movie that was remade in 2009 - which if you don't consider remakes old then Leatherface had remake in 2003, Nightmare on Elm Street remake (and the one we have in game) was from 2010, and Rob Zombies Halloween remake came out in 2007 making all of them new to your standards.
Scream 4 came out in 2011 and the Scream series on MTV was from 2015-2019.
Saw franchise started in 2004. Meanwhile Hollow Man came out in 2000, American Psycho movie also 2000 (book published in 1991), and Dog Soldiers in 2002.
The Mist was originally published in 1980 before being made into a movie in 2007. If they're going to go Stephen King route they'll probably aim for It or Shining instead.
-
Female Cenobite so can play as male or female killer.
The other two are called Chatterer and Butterball. π
-
There's really only 2 licenses that brings out that aggression, and one of those the devs have said they have no interest in adding to DBD. Just don't bother having those two in your polls should be fine. π
-
I think they'll all be legendary skins to change which Cenobite you play as. There's plenty of Cenobites outside the original 4 they could add too depending on the licensing agreement.
As for mix/match they tend to just wear one outfit. Only way I see mix/match is if the license is through either the remake movie or TV show that's in the works and the Cenobites wear different outfits in one of those.

The whole thing's just dumb honestly, people attacking others for liking particular things, it's ridiculous, hypocritical, and quite childish.
For those annoyed by the "spamming" of FNAF threads, they're not that deep, you can just ignore them, they aren't covering up the entire screen. Would you care if that were the case of Candyman or Pinhead?
I'm a Hellraiser fan and I think the multiple posts about it right now should be merged because it's feeling spammy.

people are so excited to find out about the new DLC and iβm just sitting here freaking out about how this game might run when it comes out.
Oh it's definitely going to have performance issues, especially if they don't include anything in the chapter patch to even try and fix the performance issues. After the hotfix the game is already almost back to it's unplayable RE state so I will be shocked if performance actually improves with this chapter instead of just going back to unplayable like it was with RE.

I think one of DBD Asian YouTube pages just settled it. π
https://twitter.com/PaulieEsther1/status/1426230621475647494?s=19 -
The lawsuit for Hellraiser was settled in December last year. Before it was settled there was already the remake movie in the works and HBO series in the works, lawsuit was not standing in way because it was quick open/shut case unlike Friday the 13th.

Pinhead has been portrayed by 2 different actors, so it could be both versions. It could also be Pinhead from the new movie which is supposed to be a remake, so they probably redesigned him a little too.
New movie they are making Pinhead a Hell Priestess instead of Hell Priest, believe same is planned for HBO series. I think main Pinhead will be the Hell Priest and then legendary will either be the Female Cenobite from original or a Hell Priestess so players can play as male or female killer.

I've seen first Hellraiser so many times, the moment I saw that in the teaser I was like "I know that flower!" π

That's from teaser
That's from when Kirsty solves puzzle box.
Kinda look like same TV too.
Also Hellraiser released in 1987.

I personally love the atmosphere of the EGC and would love to see it added after final gen completion, but only if the after-gen time (pre-gate) was largely aesthetic. (It would also be nice to add some kind of infinite EGC pause should both Killer/Survivor decide to stick around in the Trial.)
With all the things to prevent opening an exit gate plus some of the terrible gate spawns it would just be way too killer sided.
-
EGC is only there to stop hatch standoffs and survivors hiding around map indefinitely after opening exit gate - it's why a killer can start it by opening the exit gate. It was never meant to be a tool to secure kills for the killer once the gens are finished and the exit gates still need to be open.
The only change they should make is if a survivor is still in match when EGC runs out the killer does not receive any sacrifice points and survivor receives no escape points. Neither side wins. This way it removes the apparent confusion killers seem to have about the purpose of EGC.
-
I had that nearly same gen placement on Lery's except the hallway gen was by that boarded up window behind Ace, gen in room was where locker is, and there was window where gen in pic is.
-
What if they couldn't get license for Jason but instead we get license for his mom as a killer? π²
-
@DwarvenTavern said:
The lawsuit for Hellraiser and Jason are two completely different issues with different set backs.
I'm not a lawyer so I'm not gonna pretend to know everything to the fine print, but I can tell you two things.
1.) Pinhead was mostly likely under development for 14 months ever since Mathew first referenced them in 2020, so if this happened before that lawsuit, then it's a bit too late at the moment to take it back unless they make... an appeal? I think..
2.) They're still able to share their license for some particular reason and it was showed why thanks to people who knew the law much more than I do.
Now for the non lawsuit, I never seen the Victor looking like a Wendigo, not sure..where that even came from.
Blight didn't seem to put on an impression of being a werewolf, at least for me they didn't. The second I saw that vial I knew immediately what was up, there was no werewolf there. We were getting the lore legend himself.
The bee is something completely different from Silent Hill. Not sure why that's associated with that
Just adding that before the lawsuit was even settled there was already a Hellraiser reboot movie and HBO TV series in the works. Obviously the lawsuit wasn't getting in the way of anything.
-
Bummed to see him go. He was one of the more visible devs that had alot of interaction with the fan base. I'm excited to see what he works on next, super curious about what it may be.
-
Yes.
-
That sounds like a bug, you should make a post in the bug report section.

Itβs still possible that they (BHVR and/or Candyman license holders) didnβt want to release any information before the movie released at all. So the idea is not to cross promote the movie release and the chapter but to not spoil anything from the new movie in the chapter.
remember that they aim to not have more licensed than original chapters released but if itβs true and they actually initially planned to release Candyman in 2020 along with the originally planned movie release itβs still possible it may be chapter 22 or 23 even though that would mean 3 licensed and only 1 original chapter this year, because last was 3 original and 1 licensed.
This is the most likely reason. Movie comes out August 27, why risk spoiling it week before for a video game dlc ptb.
-
They've done cryptic teasers before revealing chapters multiple times. They start revealing hints that could be anything, people start guessing and it stirs up hype for new chapter with very little effort on BHVRs part. They're actually using their social media in a way to make it worth following, not just posting sales promotions or rare announcements for patches.
-
I love Hellraiser, been a fan for what feels like forever. Remember getting this DVD box set back when I was in college.
I would guess the chains would be the go to for his (or hers if they go reboot version) power. They could make the chains a ranged attack or instead use them as traps. Hallucinations could also be part of his power. I would imagine they would find a way to incorporate the puzzle box as well since that is like the main thing for Hellraiser series.
-
The Hellraiser reboot cast a Hell Priestess instead of Hell Priest because in the books the Cenobites were androgynous so can cast male or female. I think we could have Hell Priest with Hell Priestess legendary or the could do Pinhead with Female Cenobite - both would give options as playing as male or female killer. I think Chatter and Butterball would come later. While he's not a Cenobite a Frank cosmetic could be pretty cool. π
-
He can summon chains from anywhere and control them. Can cause hallucinations or teleport to an area. He leads the Cenobites so can call in the others to come join him to torture someone. He probably will have powers that are similar to killers already in the game.

I prefer original to licensed simply because you can get it with shards and if it doesn't work BHVR can adjust without having to go back to whoever they got the license from.

Maybe my info is outdated but, isn't the Hellraiser franchise in kind of the same court battle as the F13 one? Clive is trying to get the full rights back from whatever studio owns those rights but they won't budge? Like I said though, that could be outdated at this point.
The rights issues for Hellraiser weren't as messy because Clive wrote the book so couldn't argue about who owned the character/story. Pretty much was quick in/out court case. In December 2020 he won the rights and officially will have it turned back over in December 2021. BEFORE he even won the rights there was already a Hellraiser movie AND an HBO TV series in the works, the TV series even put Clive on as executive producer before he won the case in December. If rights issues were questionable the wouldn't have movie in the works and HBO wouldn't have risked starting production and naming Clive as executive producer.
