  • I hope he sticks with only OG music. I'm not a fan of most of the unique chase music, I wish there was option to replace it with OG music.

Wait, there were iridescent shards in the halloween rewards? I never got any of those. It was only bloodpoints and rift fragments.

Think its to make up for shards that they missed out on from not being able to play the game at all, not just missing out on the log in rewards. They're also getting 16 levels of rift fragments instead of the like 3 we got from just logging in.

  • Looks like a bug. Should post this in the bug report section.

  • I've had daily challenges that match archive challenges - will get full count for daily but only partial for archive. Like the "be chased by killer for x seconds" - both archive and daily will have same amount of time required to complete, I'll start both at same time, will complete daily but the archive will still require some time. This also just happened to my swf teammate so now I know it wasn't just a me problem. 😂

There's definitely something wrong with the coding in archive challenges where they aren't progressing correctly - makes the "complete in single trial" challenges extra miserable.

  • It feels like they increase odds for specific maps/realms on random days. I get multiple back to back matches on same map often if there's no offerings used, I hate it. Today must've been RPD. The other day I had the Game 4 times in a row without any offerings. I went and played something else.

15 min base penalty? This game is wayyyyyyy too unstable to start with that!

RIP console and low end PCs with penalties like that after a new chapter patch causes crashes. That'd be a quick way to get those players to just move onto a new game instead of hoping BHVR will fix the issues. 😬

  • There's other ways for people to track players they don't like playing with/against. I used to be in some DBD Facebook groups and alot had excel spreadsheets of players they didn't like for whatever reason.

If a player is targeting you over multiple matches that is reportable. You just need to fill out a ticket and send the proof to support: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

  • This upcoming killer is the first one I haven't watched gameplay during PTB or looked into him and his power. Just don't care. The perks coming with the chapter don't really do anything to make the game more fun - the survivor perks actually make me dread any solo matches I play.

The "meta shake up" and SBMM haven't really changed gameplay, just enhanced the more unfun gameplay. The fun/casual matches are much more rare, games now tend to be more sweaty/comp.

It's probably a bunch of reasons for me for the burnt out feeling. Part is because I was already playing less due to poor optimization on console still not getting better and just getting tired of it not improving while seeing people already start mentioning issues on new consoles so any hope of upgrading for better experience isn't there. Part is probably because I've been playing since 2018 and that's just a long time put into one game. Part is that I keep taking longer and longer breaks between playing as well as playing fewer matches in a session since I'm just not getting the fun/casual matches that made me enjoy the game before. Part is because I've been having a ton of fun playing the new Ghostbusters game that just came out and watching gameplay for the other assym horror games coming out on console next year is making me super excited for those - also kinda highlights the negatives in DBD that just aren't getting better.

I've just had the opposite bug in game, a claudette who was downed under hook and who I could not heal. The prompt simply did not appear.

You can hold down the cancel heal button to avoid heals when downed if you don't want to be picked up. When this happens the prompt doesn't show.

  • I think overall there should be a system to get rid of unwanted items/addons/offerings. Personally I'd get rid of every fog and luck offering but I like having event offerings as a souvenirs of the events I've participated in so would like to hold on to those.

then many wouldnt even play publics taht would potentially separate community and would be a terrible idea. this is not a massive multiplayer game.

For Honor has plenty playing v other players and they have option to play v only bots. Against bots you still earn XP, in game currency, complete challenges, and progress through battle pass. Key thing is they found ways to make the game fun for players to want to play v other players.

If option to play v bots instead of people would make many not want to play v people then BHVR should look at why that is and make the gameplay v other people more appealing instead of using rewards to get players to v other people.

The real killers in solo queue have always been your teammates.

I don't know who I hate more, the hook farmers or the ones who sandbag you in chase so they can fail at a flashlight save.

I've been getting the sandbagging flashlight fail survivors a ton lately, it's wicked annoying.

  • Agreed. I think you should also be able to complete challenges/progress the rift.

  • They said they weren't going to release them in the last mid-chapter patch, they were just testing the basekit Unbreakable and mori in the PTB. They wanted feedback to make adjustments. Once they've made adjustments they'll test them in another PTB.

  • The only reason I like the bubble is because it let's me know where the survivor was hooked when killer is running something that causes blindness.

  • I'd like them to change it to not be for slugging.

Instead have it be when you injure a survivor with a basic attack they are blinded and other survivors cannot see their auras until the survivor is healed/downed, survivor can also suffer from hindred for 15 seconds. This will block the survivor in chase from using their aura perks and block other survivors that are running a perk like empathy or bond from seeing where that survivor is being chased. If survivors want to use their aura perks they will need to spend time healing themselves/eachother.

I would also have them change the color of downed/hooked survivors to a different color that does not apply to the blindness status effect - similar to how killer items like pig boxes are not included. Perks that blind the aura of downed/hooked survivors only hurts solo q and is unnecessary.

Were they crossplay? Might have been a closet cheater.

End game screen showed they were on PS4 too but I didn't check profile to make sure it wasn't hacker just removing globe icon. They only got one or two hooks, all the survivors escaped so doubt they were hacking unless just being weird about it.

It's kind of funny you brought up that last point, because there is one glaring exception to the rule of BHVR's throwaway children, and that's Mikaela... who was heavily picked for a long time because she had the best survivor perk in five years and everyone wanted to level her up because of that.

So BHVR kept throwing cosmetics at her, those cosmetics were actually good, and between that and milking a popular aesthetic, the result was a new character with a very healthy following.

Was her witch aesthetic just a perfect storm that the likes of Zarina or Yui could never hope to have replicated? Or would it never have happened if Circle of Healing hadn't been a thing and she'd had Yoichi's perks instead? Could Haddie have been popular if she'd gotten a line of rugged adventurer outfits and Fog-touched garments right off the bat? I know people say Haddie is ugly, but last October I saw several people say Mikaela was hideous without makeup and her hair done up, so...

Mikaela was definitely because perks but also she was a witch character released at Halloween so it encouraged people to play her since her base outfit fit the season. The Halloween event not only let people earn an additional cosmetic for her but the tome had challenges requiring using her and her perks which increased the amount playing her. Also helped that all of her unique cosmetics are nice and not linked.

I do think having mediocre/niche perks at release really hurt Zarina and Yui. They also took awhile to put out single cosmetics for Zarina and Yui while in between the usual characters got multiple new cosmetics - that doesn't really encourage people to keep playing new characters when they're not getting cosmetics and they're seeing the old characters with 90+ cosmetics frequently getting more. New survivors either need great perks (Mikaela) or need to be considered hot (Felix) to be played more which then rewards them with more cosmetics.

Haddie has received a ridiculous amount of hate and has been completely screwed over in the cosmetics department. 3 yellow cosmetics with heads that have barely noticeable differences (really couldn't change hair/streak color???), 2 limited time outfits with one needing a membership at 3rd party, and 1 purple outfit that's linked so can't mix/match. It almost feels like they set her up to fail.

Soloq experience need other improvements than voice comms.

Ping system and action indicators would give information needed and could be used by anyone without changing the actual game experience too much.

Ping & indicators would be way better than voice comms with strangers. I don't want to hear someone screaming at me and there's no language barrier with ping/indicators.

  • It has been confirmed in interviews/Q&As and was a reason given why all the holiday cosmetics we voted on could not be done.

  • She along with the handful of others that get new cosmetics frequently should get a break in cosmetics so the others that have WAY less can catch up.

  • Feng getting new cosmetics often as well as the other handful of characters that frequently get cosmetics DOES take away from others getting cosmetics. BHVR only budgets for creating so many cosmetics in game per year.

I think the matchmaking needs to be a lot tighter ob the survivor end if you're introducing team based ratings. As it currently stands, 1 or 2 survivors are usually far below the skill level of the other 2 survivors in a solo lobby. If the killer finds them early, the game is essentially over at that point. The only way a survivor can carry in that scenario is if the killer has no game sense and commits to the better players for no reason.

At least 25% of my escapes come when my teammates somehow die at 4 gens and last a collective 10 seconds in a chase. I don't see why I should be punished for bad matchmaking in those instances.

This. 2 high skilled players can only carry their teammates so much. When I'm in a 2 minute chase and the only gen to get completed is the 1 my swf teammate worked on solo there's only so much we can do to pick up the slack of the other 2 players.

Am I the only person who doesn't really mind this?

I like having old souvenirs, and having useless dowsing rods is no different to me than having useless faint reagents or bloodied blueprints. I never touch most offerings anyway, so it's just kinda... shrug.

Don't know why people expected anything different. They've never recompensated old event offerings.

I like having the souvenirs from past events. They look pretty.

I'm still upset they took away my Hawkins offerings, especially because I had a ton of offerings and didn't even get an equal amount of BP for them.

  • But I'm trying to collect my green glyphs that I saw when EGC started.

  • 1. Because his ability to instadown multiple survivors with a single sweep of the chainsaw makes it super easy. Toss on Insidious and unless it's a rare coordinated SWF they're guaranteed multiple kills.

    2. Because multiple content creators do it and alot of people like to do what content creators do.

  • So basekit Devour Hope where you just need to go after the easy target survivor until you can insta kill the others on first down? No thanks.

That picture you had posted earlier when I asked how you could tell them apart was basically just their back

Now that I can see more of their front, they're super easy to tell apart now.

Unless all you can see is cuteness, then it would be impossible to tell them apart since they're both equally super cute!

From behind definitely have to pay attention to tell them apart since the differences are small from that angle.

The cuteness definitely makes it harder to tell them apart.

One argument, for or against depends on where one stands, is that I've noticed that when I'm close to finishing a grade, I play very differently* than when I have nothing to lose.

And, as it was discussed a while ago, I know I'm not the only one acting like that.

*) as in : I actually try to win

I've noticed alot say that risk of losing pips has them play sweatier and use more "winning" load outs, once they get to iri 1 and there's no worry of depipping they play more "fun" builds and don't try as hard to win. I've definitely noticed myself changing how I play if I'm having bad luck with getting the last pip I need to make it up a grade.

  • His head makes me think Felix and David had a love child and his outfit makes me think it could've been for Jeff but instead went to new guy. Have a feeling since his and Jeff's style are kinda similar he's going to get the cosmetics that could've gone to Jeff because he has a pretty face. 😔

  • Vet the rescue brought the kittens to estimated they were born May 2 which means today these two are 6 months old.

  • I'll get them when they're made available for iri shards. Next year they will have been in the store for more than 4 weeks total in the store which means they should be available for iri shards like BHVR announced would happen for all non-licensed cosmetics. They totally didn't say that just to create a lame loop hole by making cosmetics limited time, right?

  • They should just remove the negative pip entirely since the devs have said grades are just a reflection of time played and grades now have 0 to do with matchmaking. Should only have 0, +1, and +2 pips.

  • Leon's belly is sticking out because he's gained holiday weight.

Felix shorts are up that high because he's obviously drunk and couldn't even tuck in his shirt right.

  • It's a vicious circle - Haddie is rarely played because doesn't have many cosmetic options, BHVR doesn't give Haddie cosmetics because she's barely played. Same can be said for alot of the characters that have few cosmetics.

Meanwhile the characters with 80+ cosmetics keep getting cosmetics because more people play them because they have more cosmetic options.

I think they need to stop adding new survivors since it's the same handful getting cosmetics over and over while the rest are ignored and forgotten.

Wait for the rank reset. It's much easier to get adepts when the requirements are lower.

This. You only need 2 iri and 2 gold or 3 iri and 1 silver when you're Ash grade for a double pip. Because of this you don't need a 4k, just a 3k.

  • I wonder how it will look on my ps4 since currently the map is bright for me.

  • If they released trailer day before they released ptb patchnotes there would probably be more talk. Releasing it at same time as PTB patchnotes kind of kills any hype/discussion when have perks and killer power to discuss as well as watching actual gameplay.

  • @HellDescent said:

Play on the 13th when grades reset

This. At Ash you need either 2 iri and 2 gold emblems or 3 iri and 1 silver to double pip. I got Adepts with a 3k by doing it at Ash grades because don't need a 4k to double pip in those grades.

Also, just incase you didn't know, don't instadown with Ghostface. Instadowns work against you when trying to get Adept, you want to hit survivors more not less.

  • 1. Start with all traps. The thing that hurts Trapper the most at start of match is having to go around collecting traps. His one add on that let's him start with all the traps has a completely unnecessary downside of not being able to move the traps after they're set. Just make it basekit you can carry all traps at start and once all traps are set you can carry max of 2 at a time - the add ons can increase the number you can carry at a time.

    2. Make traps blend in more with the map and add more stuff for traps to be hidden in around the map. The map reworks have hurt Trapper so much since they got rid of much of the grass that was so good for hiding traps. The reworks removing grass plus so many indoor maps with no ground cover limits where you can effectively place your traps. Now it's rare to catch a survivor in a randomly placed trap - you're pretty much stuck with window, pallet, doorway or tiny patch of grass that's easy to avoid and survivors know to just avoid those spots while moving around the map, or where to go to disarm the traps. It's rare in a match v Trapper that I or my teammates get caught in a trap, I hear traps getting disarmed way more.

    3. Traps always inflict deep wound when survivor is caught in them. Make the traps suck that little bit more to step into and there's always a consequence even when you're injured. Also change the add ons that injure you when disarming a trap to causing deep wound - that way an injured survivor can't just disarm traps without worry.

    4. Faster set up, longer disarm. Since disarming traps is quick, and unless an add on is used has 0 consequence, survivors will disarm traps a ton in a match. Make it so they need to spend more time disarming a trap that Trapper can quickly reset.

  • I'm more so distracted by the sound, have a hard time hearing skill checks when trying to do a gen in the area of a boon.

  • Depends on my mood and how the teammate was during the match. I used to do it way more often before SBMM, now I'm a bit more selective.

  • I've had same issue on ps4. I've even had killer no where near and the prompt just doesn't show until I'm at a certain angle.

  • Trapper. He's my favorite and deserves all the love. Hearing survivors step in my traps always makes me giggle.

Doctor. I like making survivors scream and he gets lots of BP easily.

  • I want old Blastmine back.

I'd also like bug to bring back the old spinning on the ground when slugged animation.

  • Devs when nerfing some things in the past said they were "abused." People then started using "abuse" for anything they want nerfed or removed from the game. Abuse is just a buzzword at this point for things people don't like.

  • I would think so but there are content creators who have multiple videos of playing like this as a meme to frustrate other players, usually those with TTV in there name, and they were never banned for it.
