I don't understand the relevance?
Keys are not a mories counterpart, and mories aren't a keys counterpart, in any way shape or form.
keys are not a counterpart to moris but moris are a counterpart to keys, the reason you don't see keys 24/7 in lobbies is for a few reasons
- players are stockpiling
- players are scared there is going to be a mori for bringing a key
- people see someone else with a key and don't want to bring another to basically guarantee a mori
and now that 2 and 3 are compromised you bet your sweet bippy that keys are going to be more prevalent

The scenario you are showing is something that happens really rarely, and even if I agree both moris and keys are unfun and unhealthy for the gameplay, I don't think one thing is strictly linked to the other and I don't think people will use keys more just because moris got nerfed.
its alright I forgive you, I know you aren't responsible so I shouldn't be mad at you
but to be fair I am going to start a key tally and see if they are more likely then they once were because I feel the power balance has shifted to more keys

one kick of pop counters an entire bnp, and we all know how popular PGTW is, it's almost irrelevant to even use BNPs.
thats a lot more effort to get that one kick of pop then right click a gen for 5 seconds

Keys have a lot more interaction in game I feel though, like mori is one hook and you can kill. (or was)
Keys can't be used straight away, they can be dropped, the survivor with key can be killed (and if they have an addon, taken with them), It's harder to balance something that has more counters than the mori in a similar fashion, if that wording makes any sense.
the item doesn't take the keys with them the keys stay in the game for other survivors to use the addon just gets used up, id rather keys be for aura reading than early escapes by letting keys only open hatch if they are the last survivor

Survivors can only get 4 man escapes with a key if they finish all the generators. In which case the killer already failed to pressure the survivors and prevent them from completing their objective.
still better than moris in its current form and so what that they might not get a 4 man escape a 3-2 man escape is pretty strong for 1 item that can be FOUND IN CHESTS IN GAME WITH LUCK

@ThGameIsHardButSoAmI said:
you dont use moris to counter keys, stop using this argument. Moris are a stupid mechanic and so are keys, both need to be changed. yes it was a good change, getting hooked once and dying because you got tunneled 2 minutes into the game without even being able to use DS/flashlight or pallet save is stupid and broken. So what if they are useless now (which they are not)?? it's a stupid offering that brought nothing good to the game
yes you do, if you have every seen 2+ keys in a lobby there is a 99% chance that there is a mori on the other side, also just because a save can happen doesn't mean the offering is suddenly better, because those don't happen 95% of the time anyway even if you aren't paying attension and if you are that jumps up to 100% not happening, yes they were both stupid but at least they kept each other in check to some extent

People run BNPs a lot more since the toolbox nerf.
ditto I have seen and had games with 2+ bnps a decent amount of times even though they aren't instantly complete a gen or complete a gen in 20 seconds 5 seconds for 20 seconds of gen progress still isn't bad

As a mod said, the key rework is probably a rework of the mechanic as a whole. Both are problematic and needed to be addressed ASAP imo. Just going to have to wait on keys.
I know they said it I just hope they would have waited to do both not do one and annonce the other because it leads to the situation where we are currently entering where one side still has their easily abusable item available while the otherside has had theirs taken away

My answer is yes. Moris being changed should not be dependent on keys being changed and vice versa.
look at it this way, you are dueling an opponent on the regular and have the same weapon, but due to a "bug fix" you bullets have become blanks while youre opponent still has real bullets but they attached a promise in a while they will be given blanks as well, do you think your opponent will take advantage of this situation and milk it for all its worth or just cancel for a few weeks until its all sorted

@Seanzu said:
Every pink addon on the survivors side they've touched in the past two years has been "nerfed into the ground", no one runs odd bulb, no one runs BNPs, no one really uses needles, they're all pretty irrelevant compared to their first iterations.
I feel very confident that the keys will get nerfed into the ground as well.
@Rizzo said:
The mori change was easier to make, since it's basically just a change of a condition. I believe nerfing the keys requires animation changes and/or addon changes, that require much more time.
true that its likely but still doesn't make me happy they decided to do one before the other and announced the other now that the keys main counter measure is gone

Just because Keys are too strong doesn't mean Moris didn't need a nerf lol. They were both stupid
yea but to nerf them into the ground like this while letting keys run rampant and nerf them beyond what keys will be nerfed to in a 1 v 4 game with 1 mori and 4 keys you gotta ask yourself if it was a good change, my answer is no

"hey hes camping me just stay on gens" is about as good and seeing the killer aura 5 feet from the hooked survivor across the map
"hey your the closest, get him" is about as good as seeing how far you are from the hooked survivor relative to your teammates
you're being disingenuous arguing it goes much deeper than this but if you think other plays are possible please enlighten me on why auras in this exact situation are so much better than call outs
ah yes because a swf will only use one or the other but never both to make way better plays, my bad I never thought of that,
devs will not buff solo queue without buffing swf because they will only buff survivor as a whole or not at all they said it themselves but if you missed it the first time I said it here it is again just in case, they would buff both and it would be very strong with communication

Still in the works, I only practice at the end of games so there really isn't much time to nail it down, but im already speculating how to use it and have done it once
-
@dugman said:

So is your argument that the Twins are bad because they're efficient at camping and players who otherwise have trouble winning can win games with them? Because that makes it sound like they're actually really effective killers.
Or are you just saying that they're good at camping but you think camping is "boring" so you don't like them? Which again, makes it sound like they're effective killers but you just don't like that playstyle.
Also, just FYI, I did say in my posts above that some survivors probably don't enjoy going against the Twins because being slugged or camped is dull.
ah yes taking my words out of context to fit your own, no im saying the players playing the twins are bad even though its more efficient its still more efficient boring and unskilled gameplay
-
@dugman said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1801663#Comment_1801663
The thing is the Twins are actually able to facecamp effectively. That's the difference here. If you facecamp with, say, Meyers or Clown or Deathslinger or Spirit you'll lose assuming the other survivors slam the gens. The Twins though can have Victor camp a hook and Charlotte chase one or two other people off gens. It turns what's normally a losing strategy for most killers into a winning one for the Twins.
Of course it's also probably a really unfun strategy to play against for the survivors since they're spending so much extra time slugged or on a hook. But in terms of how well it works for the Twins it's solid.
in terms of how well it works doesn't take into account if it takes skill or not or how fun it is to play against, twins face camping doesn't take almost any skill and isn't fun to play against, and in terms of people being bad it depends on the strategy just because you can camp efficiently doesn't mean you are suddenly good it just means your boring strategy isn't being punished accordingly

This requirement will stay. There are things we don't want, like someone going into dying state due to a Bear Trap with Honing Stone triggering stuff like Surge. The alternative to the basic attack requirement is making exceptions. For example we could say Surge works for Demo Shred, but not Trapper BT/HS. Now every time we add a new Killer, we potentially have to through and update every perk with these exceptions. It's just not a maintainable design with the vast amount of perk/addon/power combinations available.
Since every Killer can basic attack, we can create the perk, and know exactly how it works with every Killer without having to check a ton of different interactions. If this means some perks don't work well given some Killers' powers, then that's just the way of it. Not every perk is exactly as useful on one Killer as it is on the others. Learning to choose your perks well to synergize with your chosen Killer is one of the important skills in DbD.
I have heard it said that this answer means we're "lazy"... that we're not willing to "do things that take work". Whole programming languages and paradigms have been based around preventing the same thing in code as we're trying to prevent in design with this strategy. You don't want a ball of yarn of a design where tugging on any little thing pulls a whole ton of others.
In a game as complex as DbD, there will necessarily be some of that. But minimizing it through smart design is still a worthwhile endeavor.
just do it the other way around where you blacklist effects rather than whitelist them, that reverses the workload

Oh sideways and backwards dashing. I can do sideways but not backwards. Let me see you do it in action. Well have you done anything successful with it yet?
I have only gotten to the planning stage to use it and I'm practing to be able to replicate it with keyboard and mouse, im not very far into it just practicing at this point but if I can manage to replicate it on a consistant basis, oh boy will I have a new fun toy to play with

Make sure you show me. I will surpass your blight. Just wait until I get the rest of my pc parts and that's it.
well its currently in the works but I want to find a way to replicate and use backwards/sideways rushes in a chase, mostly because it can allow you to turn corners and effectively make un rushable areas rushable, for example at killers shack, from any corner you should be able to rush over to the opposite corner (diagonally) on the outside of the building in 1 rush (it only works with chain rushes so I'm still counting it as one)

how can I get too stressed I play a killer at a point in their skill ceiling where I roll every team I run across, all I have to worry about now is having fun while doing it, which isn't hard when you can go for epic 180 degree hits

Nobody calls killers bad for slugging. Some survivors call it toxic but nobody says it’s bad strategy.
Facecamping is usually bad strategy because while you stand at a hook the other three survivors are doing gens unimpeded. But in the Twins case you can have Victor pseudo camping something and meanwhile Charlotte is still putting pressure on the other survivors trying to do gens so it becomes a more viable strategy for them. It’s that ability to be in two places at once that uniquely makes them effective at zone defense.
they aren't called bad for slugging they are usually only called boring for slugging, but camping is usually called bad, and well if someone needs both im going to assume they are bad

There were multiple times where I hit a survivor and they just disappeared, and I didn't wanna stick around and look due to her slooow movement speed. When people were out in the open, it was 100% easier to at least get to them. I'm still enjoying her challenge though.
if you have trouble tracking survivors after hitting them as nurse, maybe try out stridor so they make more sound and you can make better judgements on survivors through walls, its a great training tool for learning survivor behavior because eventually you won't need it anymore and can do it without stridor on muscle memory and judgement alone
-
the best way to deal with LOS blockers as nurse is to blink to where you will have los on them and use the 2nd one to adjust unless you can predict survivor gameplay, if you can thats one of the steps on the road to becoming a good nurse, and yes nurses road has steps thats why she is considered hard

so what? survs have the option to balance OP meta builds with their own OP meta builds
too bad killers are limited in what they can do by power which this just makes it 100% better for survivors which are just skins right now
5 meta perks with no need to build around character makes this 100% better from them and makes me 100% not on board with this idea you can take your 20 meta perk swf back where it came from

killer "guttings" like billys nerf just draw away the fun high level killers which means you get more 20 minute queues into spirit or freddy

I’m getting a little pissed at the amount of killer powers lately whereby all a survivor needs to do is zig zag or 360 erratically in order to be untouchable by that power.
It’s getting tiresome trying to either Pounce, Lethal Rush, PoTD, Shoot, Shred, or Purge and it simply never touching a Survivor that does this. What’s most infuriating is that it’s far too easy for survivors to do. In Victor’s case he’s just far too easily punished for one miss. The disparity is absurd. Survivor puts in so little effort to avoid these powers, they could do it blind folded. Whereas the killer has to continually try and track/predict where the survivor is going next whilst trying not to succumb to total vertigo, only to miss anyway, and too bad, you’re now crushed.
I try not to let it stress me due to Victor’s insanely fast respawn, but when up against 4 survivors that do this and can’t be touched, it’s well... what do you do? It’s already evidenced that sending out Victor becomes useless, so I’m just meant just use only Charlotte? Stand in a corner and wait for the match to be over?
Honestly that was one of the things that made me dislike some killers, that the high level counterplay from survivors was mash your keyboard like a mad man and hope it works from all the weird looking movement. the problem was exacerbated by dedicated survivors which makes this janky movement look even more janky and more annoying to deal with when using precise hitboxes, its a little bit why I think survivors need some sort of turn limit or something so that these issues would stop

If you did it 90 seconds ago DS would be gone. If they let their team get close to death before altruism as blight thats a free win I'm gonna be honest with you. You have insane map mobility and with your skips you should be ending chases quickly.
Also this is entirely subjective but I find intense games fun. Would you rather that be a cake walk than a hard game? I dont really understand when people complain about survivors getting gens. If you acknowledge both you and the survs were playing fast why seem down about it?
It was 90 seconds ago when I hooked them but only 31 seconds from when they were unhooked

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1799260#Comment_1799260
Ok that's fair. So I have two questions did you win and why did you pick up a survivor knowing damn well you downed the one prior really fast. If you hooked a survivor,notice them get unhooked, then notice you have a fast down why pick them up again?
because I physically downed them and hooked them last about 90 seconds ago and not only was there team devoted to gens it also took 2 teammates on hook with a 3rd on the way for them to even start playing altruistic and still being punished by survivors playing that way
-
But like devs don't want to buff solo survivors and swf separately they want either buffs for all survivors or none, so saying only solo queue survivors get free kindred is never gonna happen
