Well there were plenty of killers who woud chuck on moris whenever they saw survivors with half a brain.
Moris were also used as a way of bm, to tunnel and kill people the killer may not like or to be toxic. You don't see keys being used to bm the killer.
well there are plenty of survivors who chuck on keys 24/7 for no reason
keys are used as a way of bm, taunting the killer and exiting the game early is toxic. You see keys being used to bm the killer
-
depends on the severity of the swf, 1/5 scale
1 decent swf who play for fun but aren't way to experienced
2 newer swf, they have decent hours and decent communication but not quite the skills to keep up
3 group of friends with 1k hours each that try to win but also try to have fun which makes them play slower but more consistant
4 group of friends that try to win every game and are gaining but don't quite have the skills needed to win but can all loop decently for around 30 seconds every chase minimum but have solid communication and coordination to keep you on your toes
5 4 man sweat squad swf, abandon all hope ye who faces them
any killer can do decent against 1-2
most killers stop being good around 3
4-5 are your blight, oni, spirit, nurse games where your killer needs to have tools available that others don't

Are you also forgetting that 90% of survivors also don't run keys because they know they are stupid and game breaking? I didn't see killers holding themselves back nearly as much when it came to moris.
and are you forgetting that 90% of killers do the same, I have probably a 3% kill rate with moris / devour hope out of all my total survivors killed

Only that, but tbh it's so specific that turns mori into a useless offering most of the games.

@TheClownIsKing said:
You can all complain about slugging all you want, but the truth of the matter is the way this game is designed means at red ranks (even purple ranks) a killer has 3 choices when it comes to approaching load out and match strategy.
1) Slow repairs down as much as possible in a literal, direct way.
2) Find as many ways as possible to keep survivors that are out of a chase either indisposed or as preoccupied as possible with other tasks.
3) Find ways to save as much time as possible. Usually shortened chase times, and shortened times between ending one chase and finding a new survivor.
None of the above are exclusive of each other. A killer can be doing a combination of any of the above, or specialise in one approach only. Slugging falls in the middle of 1 & 2. It’s a pretty much mandatory approach when a killer has too few tools to do the direct gen slow down/direct gen pressure strategy, or simply chooses not to do an obnoxious “forever repair” approach.
You can complain how “boring” or “toxic” slugging is all you like. You know what’s “boring” for killers? 4 gens popping in the space of only 2 short chases and 2 hooks. I’m not blaming the survivors directly. The game allows you to do this. It allows you to do obnoxious, infuriating stuff like tap a regressing gen mid chase. It takes 15ish seconds to carry someone to a hook, and an unhook is done in an instant. 15 seconds is actually a lot of time in DBD to NOT be looking for another survivor to chase.
So sorry, but with the way the game allows survivors to play this game, Killers have to either slow down gens, waste your time, or slug a lot.
Pick your poison.
to be fair, you don't actually need to do any of these, you just need to do them if you want to get 4ks consistently

To each of their own, because I've put blight in my 'never playing again' list along with:
Hillbilly, Doctor and myers /)
he just didn't click with you, but hes kinda like nurse in terms of raw skill = raw power
personally I give each killer a few games each but blight was just the best fit for extreme power but without major drawbacks like nurses movement speed

As killer you don't have to use crutches to get to rank 1, but it certainly does close in the skill gap of having to win consistently to get to rank 1 in the first place, most people use at least 1 depending on your definition but some players just get good enough that their perks are for having fun more than guaranteeing a win

Id rather have the current version than risk being broken for a full minute with no way to heal.
it still heals at the end of it though so as long as you don't go down its 2 free heals at around current 2nd wind speed or faster
-
I was playing blight since he came out because im pretty sure hes not hated yet and he is pretty fun to play as
-
@eff said:
Basically they made mori a useless junk. What's the purpose of them now? To (maybe) kill someone in a fun way insted of giving a death hook? Mori is like a charm now - well, it's fun, but utterly useless.
its not utterly useless, its closer to final judgement off second hook, if they hop into a locker you still have to deal with their ds but if you down them before you can still get them out of the game
-
change it to be something like this
when you get unhooked or unhook yourself 2nd wind gives you the broken status effect
healing other survivors before 2nd wind activates decreases the broken duration proportionate to how much you healed them (1 full heal = 16 seconds off the duration aka healing 3 whole survivors and a little bit = insta healed off hook)
After a total duration of 60/55/50 seconds, Second Wind automatically heals you from Injured to the Healthy State
Second Wind deactivates once you are completely healed or if you are put into the Dying State before Second Wind successfully triggers.
You will lose the Broken Status Effect once Second Wind deactivates.
second Wind does not activate if you are already afflicted by the Broken Status Effect

No seriously, tell me. What's wrong with that kind of representation. When Jane Romero (Latin American), Zarina Kassir (Lebanese), Yui Kimura (Japanese), Felix Richter (German) and Élodie Rakoto (French Madagassian) were added to the game, everyone was just all fine and dandy, like any person with a brain would be. Representation is nice, it's important to us. As soon, however, as a hypothetical LGBTQ+ person even begins to be discussed, all I see are angry casual people complaining about it.
"Muh horror, no relationships"
So should we just absolutely void and remove the pre-existing straight relationships that are already in the game like Felix and Nurse? Or are gays exclusively not allowed?
And before you start typing "I don't care, as long as they don't rub it in our face" and as much as I HATE that kind of response, I think that goes for just about everyone. Behaviour has to remember to make them an actual character.
nothing is wrong with it, but they aren't adding a character whos personality is they are LGBT they are adding a character for who they with LGBT being part of their identity not the whole Identity, being LGBT isn't a personality, its a personality trait a part of the whole not the whole character, so they are doing it right.
they also work on characters 9 or more months before they come out so its probably coming soon, so don't worry about it for now and just let them take their time to do it proper

He's still a little too new for me to consider him most balanced. His addon's are pretty meh, and the camera is quite awful on him. If I had to pick I'd probably say huntress. She is a fun killer overall and has pretty decent addon's but isn't addon dependent.
blights addons are underated tbh, but I have played him enough to know that the only way you can do well with im is to be able to use his power to a good extent, or you are just playing a m1 115 killer which most survivors know how to play against
-

I've agreed on several points and apparently that's still not enough for you. I think before we continue on this we need to have a definition of what is balanced and what is not. What killer do you believe to be most consistent and balanced?
consistent and balanced, well all I can really think of is blight, if you are good he is good, if you are bad he is bad, killers along that line where how well you do with them is directly tied to how well you can use their tools instead of how well their tools play the game for you are probably the most balanced ones
-
but it doesn't say what % of that 2% escape with keys were found a key or brought it in, or a couple other important factors
but that doesn't mean 100% of survivors eligible for the 2% brought in / found keys it just means out of all escapes 2% were keys, 1/50 escapes were keys out of all escapes total
that's shockingly a lot considering that's across all ranks across all players and not counting any other factors like starting with a key or finding a key in a chest
1/50 survivors escape because of an item they can bring in or find, even counting all the other factors into this number its likely that bringing in a key would change it to 1/10 or 1/8 or some number closer to escape rates with a key
but I can only speculate so far without data, but yes keys need to be nerfed, I don't think either side in a "balanced" game should have ways to skip major potions of their objectives and still get rewarded, my change for keys would be only let keys open the hatch if you are the last survivor, closer to a yellow mori in power level

But you don't understand with all his easy to pick up and use utility for his low skill floor means his overturned and in need of a downgrade so more skill based gameplay shines through and he isn't the so easy anyone can pick it up and do well character

If we are talking about skipping portions of ghe game. Then moris did that waaaaaaaay sooner than a key ever could. So by that logic moris needed to be changed first regardless. So i still dont see how you can compare them.
wow in the 4v1 the 1s skipping portion of the game is bigger than the 4s more common and can be found midgame skipping portion of the game item, who would have ever thought it could be like that

That's because they made toolboxes suck so bad that BNP (which sucked before toolbox nerf) is actually the best add-on you can bring now.
thats because tool boxes, (before the toolbox nerf), were overpowered, you can have 140% gen speed for up to 180 charges of gens, on one person, now if you want that kind of speed you need 4 commodious all with charges
-
infectious only has a limited range due to huntresses low terror radius size, I reccomend a different tracking perk isntead, like whispers or spies from the shadows

This is already the exact reason I gave up on Deathslinger, Blight, and PH.
At least with Demo I don’t feel so punished missing a shred.
im sorry man, the only things I can recommend is switch to pc because controller is so limiting to killer, or get that one device that lets you keyboard and mouse on console, that or don't let them misses get you down, just keep celebrating the hits more and more and you might just turn it around once you start to feel more positive
-
@TheClownIsKing said:
Please zombie Jesus, how are you minimising missed pounces on a controller?
It’s becoming infuriating against red rank survivors that anywhere from 50% of the time in a match, to 100% of the time in a match that survivors dodge pounce all to easily.
I’ve tried tips like moving backwards a bit while charging to stop losing track of the irritating zig zagging survivor, but they’re often able to side step last second, and then kick. And this also doesn’t work around small loops either.
I’ve tried other suggestions here from those claiming pounce is easy to land, but I’m suspecting most of these claims are coming from PC players with M&KB.
So are there are Twins players on console that have figured out a reliable way to get around this BS survivor tactic?!
Please, I’m starting to wonder how I managed to get their Adept, and just totally give up on them.
welcome to what blight, huntress, billy, oni, deathslinger, pyramid head, and nurse all feel on a daily basis, too much survivor agility in terms of spinning like a bayblade
-
Its always blight, hes the 2nd best killer in this game and has the best of both worlds for all of their powers, anti-loop by cutting off loop to loop, check, high speed for mobility and lethality, check, being able to use your power at certain times to guarantee hits on survivors, check, hes basically some of all of these thrown into one where the only thing standing between you and using it is skill, sure all 3 of them are great at what they do and are easier for that specific purpose, but blight can do all 3 and more, that said if you have all 3 get clown of pop, or get it out of the shrine

So I'll admit something, I still barely know how DBD works. I recently bought The Legion and my first game went fine enough, but I later got a message by one of the people playing survivor claiming I was tunneling. Now I didn't even know what tunneling is until I looked it up and I can assure you that's not even close to what happened. Now I don't even know if they reported or not, it is mostly my anxiety getting the best of me, though I don't even know what it takes to even get someone banned, although I do assume it's rather easy, especially with people who claim it was an unfair match. I hear however that getting one report doesn't mean much, rather it's multiple reports that will get you in trouble. However I try and play as fair as I can as a killer and I don't want $80 to go down the drain with a permanent ban with false claims. So could someone please explain to me how DBD's banning policy works and a best way to avoid it?
so there are actually ingame rules,
check the useful links on the right side for them
there you can see what you did was totally fine, but on average they don't take action on the warning offenses (the non perma ban ones) unless a large amount of cases were filed in a short time (but even then they look into it to make sure before temp banning people)
there is nothing to worry about unless you were abusing exploits or cheating

from your text I can see you know the experienced strat on how to get chased by a freddy, but you can't tell his problems on why he has high kill rates and is considered op when looking from an outside perspective in at him
-

It's not that I don't understand it's just not very productive to say THIS NEEDS NERF! But then offer up no solutions of your own, not that the developers will read it anyways... but at least to have a productive conversation with others. Now to your actual points:
-I would be on board with making pallets basekit or making snares not slowdown until upping the addons. I think that's fair but I don't think that part of him is particularly OP, at least not to experienced players. The counter to that is just to keep jumping tiles. But I think what might be a better nerf is to take him down to Hag speeds at 110%, this makes him much more reliant on snares and not wasting his power times on feigning as much.
-I also agree that his movement speed could use a short slowdown when placing snares or pallets.
"have more layers to the lullaby so its not just 32 meters of the same sound and you have to guess where freddy is rather have a judgement of hes 32-16 and 16-0
slow passive sleep to take 2x longer outside of his terror radius"
I'm good on both of those but I would say if you make his sleep take longer then the penalty should be harsher for survivors fail skill checks, use other survivors just to wakeup or remove that counter play entirely. Waking up by running to the clocks should be most encouraged and should cause the survivors not to suffer from any penalty.
so you know the experienced strat but you can't tell outwards looking in whats wrong with him
-
@Mozzie said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1809263#Comment_1809263
You're not addressing the question. You are just rambling that Freddy is super OP and needs nerf yet bring nothing to the table. So what's OP about him? What do you, specifically think should be done with him?
He brings low skill floor, way too much utility, and a decent power level for minimal skill? sorry if you cant understand that
but his basekit of snares with no slowdown, fakable map long teleport, and no tr passively make him really easy to play and really strong
heres some changes that make him more skill based or require actual thinking sometimes
make pallets basekit so snares have to be addon dependent so you have to give up an addon slot to use the better power
make teleport not cancelable basekit
have a slowdown for a second or two when placing a snare
have more layers to the lullaby so its not just 32 meters of the same sound and you have to guess where freddy is rather have a judgement of hes 32-16 and 16-0
slow passive sleep to take 2x longer outside of his terror radius
heres some changes that turn him into a killer that requires skill to win and not the game doing it for you

not really, I have enough hours in the game to spot the low skill floor killers, freddy definitely doesn't take anything special to play well, sure there are people good at freddy but the point is for his power level is really high for his low skill floor

He is balanced. He just requires you to play slightly different and that's why he's hard for some people.
he isn't hard for anyone, he is the lowest skill floor killer in the game for his power level, anyone can pick up freddy play bad the entire game and still end up with a 4k, this is why he needs to be nerfed because his kit provides too much utility with no skill needed to use it effectively,
-
@gibblywibblywoo said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/212037/freddy-being-nerfed
His lunge won't change. He's 115% so he has the 115% lunge. Its always been that way since his launch. Freddy is incredibly strong and takes minimal skill or knowledge to play well.
You can easily throw on Ruin and undying and a slowdown add on or two and win purely through attrition.
Snares need a cooldown between uses and passive sleeping should either be removed OR (and this is probably the more fair version as it wouldnt punish Freddies who actually play well and set up snares before hand) remove the 15% faster regen for every sleeping survivor. There's NO EXCUSE for him being rewarded for doing nothing. None at all. Especially as that was the reason for the ruin rework.
different speed killers don't have different speed lunges anymore all lunges are now 6.9 m/s

personally I think both items needed nerfed for the balance of fun in the game
to nerf both keys and moris in a way that makes the game stay fun for both sides is hard and the only real thing I can think of is keys let the last survivor open hatch and open chests faster with better items/addons on the items
