First time since New patch meaning half way through the season when all the experienced players are up in higher ranks you played at what rank? Teen ranks of I'm generous about your standing before the reset. 10 at most which is only 5 steps out of the new kiddy pool the update created. You aren't having quality survivors and if you have any a hint of skill you will be doing well.1Handirl said:I just played killer for the first time since new patch and it's soo ez it's not even fun or challenging in anyway.

The circles are an intended part of the game balance allowing for killers and survivors to obscure their movements after an event that clearly gives away one's position. It blocking your vision means the game mechanic is working as intended.

Thought the same thing once upon a time. It's a poorly defined description. The devs cleared up body blocking was fine so long as it's for killing and not taking the game hostage. Blocking the basement to kill people is fine, blocking the basement to be a dick and just keep survivors in there is not. Survivors blocking hooks is acceptable because killers have recourse i.e. hitting them.minsc said:Pretty sure they don't want you to body block that's why there's a ways to report body blocking because it's abusive to mechanics of the game play look in the report option you'll see it -

Boil over works well enough. I've had killers not use a near by hook for one further off, stalled their forward progress by making them hit obstacles, and a lot of times all I need is a body block or distraction to wiggle or. I think that's a perfectly balanced perk as it relies on team play.

Complaining that baby killers are camping you.
A baby killer caught you.
Can't hide or get away from baby killers.
You need to up your own game if your gripe is that people new to the game are better than you. -
Wouldn't the proposed RNG fix give even more power to the survivor? They can see the layout of the boxes. so by checking a box guaranteed to be a dud, the smart choice being the one farthest from the others, they game the system into assuring the key is in a more tightly packed area saving them travel time. This is a huge advantage if you're timer isn't already running.Peanits said:@Orion said:

The RBT is not a killing tool. The intent behind the RBT is to stall and distract, and it does a pretty decent job of that. This is also a big problem. What you're saying, in essence, is that her power is not intended to cause any real harm to Survivors. You don't see the problem with that?
I do not. The pig is not a kill power killer, he's a stealth and delay killer. I think it does what it's supposed to very well most of the time- pulling people off of generators and forcing them to take off their trap (or die), or stay in the game longer than they'd like. She's also got another ability on top of that, allowing her to go completely silent and get an extended lunge.
I think making the RBT a killing tool would be making the pig into something she's not, and changing the way she plays at its core. More importantly, I can see it being miserable to play against if getting unlucky with the boxes basically meant an instant death with nothing you can do about it, while the pig wanders around the map chasing other people.
I really feel like the best solution in this case is to help it do what it's supposed to do: Stall. Get people off of generators and keep them there. The issue here is RNG. Someone can get it off with only one box, and that's something I feel should be changed. Ensuring a minimum amount of time to take off the trap guarantees that she has a certain degree of power, rather than leaving it completely up to luck.
For my two cents I think the blindness status effect should apply to jigsaw boxes as well. They're plenty of audio cues for the boxes when you are near and they are easy to spot. Being spoon fed their location is why they are so easy. We could leave the rest and still come up with enough RBT deaths to satisfy killers while map awareness and some dumb luck will see the rest through -
DS should stun for 8 second.Hillbilly420 said:TLDR?

Ok so you aren't actually taking about pallet slams and the upcoming change, you are talking about getting hit while vaulting an already dropped pallet?Amelia said:@azazer said:
Amelia said:I'm sorry, but you're sayin' that killer getting the hit he really shouldn't have is fair?
I, personally been hit when i already was on the other side of the pallet way, way too many times, it's not alright
What exactly does that mean? Describe the exact scenario of an unfair hit. do you think being on the other side of the pallet should just be a safe zone?
Don't misunderstand me, but it happens that when i'm vaulting the dropped pallet, somehow right when i'm about to make it , the killer somehow hits me, like just when i'm about to drop to the other side, i don't think it's right
-
8 second stun time? Jebus man. They are doing the Nerf this way so that team work is needed to free the survivor. The whole get yourself off was the conceptual problem to begin with, you're just making a more vexing version.
The short stun isn't designed to give you more time to wiggle, but to use strategically at pallets or to allow a flashlight save. It can be used for a last second wiggle free if people body block long enough. All of this can be done outside of SWF. -

A killer without ruin? You mean every killer 30 seconds into the game. Honestly hex totems are such a glass cannon they are pointless. It just leaves killers with 3 perks and a bitter taste in their mouth. I'd rather they become ultra rare offerings so that you can at least get some utility out of them. They'd be more worth while getting them once every now and then for a full game then bringing the perk every game and maybe having it matter for part of a game.Master said: -

Fire up is good with anything that speeds up the killer. I use fire up and pwyf, should stack well with the new stbfl too.

DS is being nerfed soon. No need to make a perk to counter it

If nothing else this is a reasonable compromise. Reward attention to surroundings and punish those caught unawareJudgement said:Striking, I don’t think so. Remember that he moves faster when cloaked, so if this was an actual thing, Wraiths would be cloaked the entire match to strike.
Interrupting Survivor actions, on the other hand - such as when they’re repairing generators, breaking totems, etc - would be great.
It’d give Survivors a reason to watch their surroundings carefully when done by any of these actions, lest they be pulled straight off.
The Wraith can pull Survivors out of lockers while cloaked and he straight-up automatically uncloaks. Why can’t he pull them off generators or totems and do the same thing?
That also applies to Freddy, who instantly puts a Survivor in Dream State when he pulls them out of lockers.
This would be a good start for both Killers. -
I don't agree with OPs reasoning, but I do think that the bloodlust change is a net bad for survivors.
Bloodlust was introduced to counter infinites, which have largely been eliminated. But it being here has always been a mitigating mechanic against looping, which is an unintended side effect of smaller survivor hit boxes.
The dev stream said they wanted bloodlust to activate sooner at the cost of higher speed later. But moving faster sooner makes losing a killer in chase harder for survivors this encouraging looping.
As a whole this will likely change the game into a direction that it wasn't designed or balanced for. -
Have you tried replacing interlocking razors with box of gears to make time longer then patrolling jigsaw boxes or are skill checks so easy now that it won't matter. Possibly huntress lullaby for a third perk?Khroalthemadbomber said:@azazer In all legit honesty it doesn't really work that great. I had the same idea and unless you specifically get a small map, you're not going to hinder people much.

How do you propose the poison mechanic works? Health goes down similar to borrowed time?

As for the killers, when they camp by hooked players, maybe make it so that **whenever the killer is close by, make the bleed out time longer, and also decrease the killers attack range to make it easier! The developers tried out the longer bleed out timer if the killer is close in a PTB once. It was exploited as [BAD WORD] by survivors, so they removed it.
I'm sorry I'm not sure what you meant here?

Face camping doesn't exist anymore. It was solved with swivel hooks. any use of the term in the current patch should be treated with suspicion since you are either ignorant of what it is or you are using it falsely on purpose.MrChills said:@Wolf74 said:

Camping can indeed be a decent strategy yet as a high ranking killer myself, I strongly feel that camping is only a good strategy when it comes to the gates are powered or open, when three generators are close together, survivors being way too overconfident, parties in the basement, basement builds, and finally when a generator is nearly done and you hook a survivor near it. You now have objective control over both the hook and generator yet my main concern is with the blatant camping aka griefing . I've had campers camp me for no reason and many others when 5 generators are up, and I find it highly annoying that there's really not many counters to camping beside genrushing " sucks for that guy". I think that is wrong that another player has to suffer just for someone's sadistic amusement!I don't get it, first you acknowledge in length that "camping" is a strategical decision that makes sense in a lot of sense in various tactical situations and than you come up with a crapload of weird "fixes" that are highly abuseable to "fight camping".
Just you try to cover up any situation that YOU find unsuitable for "camping".
But guess what? Camping or not is the decision of every player. You see your moments where you see camping as viable and others see theirs.
You just try to rule out all situations that you would not camp.
But you can't make sure that your ideas do only work in THAT situations. They will often work in situations where camping is a good strategy and ruin the killer players "fun".
If "sadistic amusement" is a social issue for you, you might should consider staying away from HORROR games at all.these fixes are for facecamping and sadistic amusement is not a problem for me. It is simply a statement. I play plenty of games that are worse than this, bud. This piece was from a post i made ages ago which still applies to everyday problems in DBD that can be fixed. I don't mind when you clearly didn't read all my comment then nitpick a few pieces yet when you saying that i have social issues then try to attack me, go [BAD WORD] yourself bud.

If this became s fix, why wouldn't the survivors, knowing a dull totem could in fact be lit, not just got every dull totem they see, especially if they spawn next to it. Wouldn't that put us right back at the status quo?

Camping is not only endorsed, it has been an intended strategy since it's development. They even have a perk for camping. As much as you hate it, that's how the game can be played if the killer chooses to. -
Seconded.

Devs acknowledge the problem of too many perks the more you unlock and are brainstorming

Seconded. Making the collision box the same size means time stalling tactics like looping are over. This will make gens more balanced by it's nature. No time stall = gens don't need to be longer. Pallets will fix themselves as pallet looping will no longer be viable. You can even make a separate hit detection box survivor size as long as collision boxes are the samePeasant said:What killers need is to have identical sized hitboxes as the survivors. This will negate the effectiveness of looping and fat shaming which will make killers more of a threat. -
I'm glad as to see not Queen on the forums. Feels like this official forum is neglected but seeing a known figure renews some hope

If the spaghetti code insults are true it may be difficult, but not more so than attempting any other change. It's letting them keep totems the same but adding a condition

But you CAN lose the killer now. As a killer I have lost survivors, and as a survivor I've lost killers. Players have become so dependant on the game ruining looping paradigm they don't learn how to lose a killer. To say it can't be done is a defeatist attitude that handicaps your play style and skews your perspective on game balance. Survivors should have sperate collision and hit boxes. Collision the same as a killer, hit box survivor size. Cures looping and in turn pallets and gen times while still having survivor size hit boxhill_o said:@azazer said:

It's pretty sad that a seemingly unfixable "exploit" can become a two year old game's most usable strategy .
It´s not a bug, it´s a feature!
You're joking, but it actually is.
If there was no looping, chases would end pretty immediately most of the time. There's not very many features that encourage hiding. The red strikes are incredibly easy to follow, so if you're not running perks to make them vanish then evading a killer in chase is near impossible given the large speed differential.
I'm not saying looping is fun for everyone, but it's not like it's a bug or exploit anyone is using to break the game. It's just literally the only mechanic that was working in for the survivor side of chases.
But devs have stated chases were never meant to take long. You basically admitted not looping would mean the game was being played as envisioned. You're right that it isn't technically an exploit but it negates the speed advantage the killer was always intended to have which actually does break the game. Looping is the root cause of major game troubles. It caused pallet reduction and nerfs and dilated chase time means gens are too fast ( the gen rush effect). The unintended use of the smaller collision box that allows looping is creating a cascading negative effect on the game.
The devs say a lot of things. I've also heard them say that stealth isn't supposed to be a mechanic, which seems counter intuitive if they want chases to be short and anyone to play survivor for longer than a match or two.
I agree about the generator issue-- something about the mechanic of the game is fundamentally broken. It puts a lot of pressure on the very start of the match to go somewhat flawlessly for the killer, or for the survivors to make major mistakes later on. Neither of those are particularly fun scenarios.
That being said, I don't really feel like looping could be removed from the game as the game currently is. I don't know what a better solution is, unfortunately, but it would be nice to find some sort of middle ground where killers aren't rushed first thing in the game and survivors have at least some hope of escaping a few chases here and there.
