Wait, I'm confused. Was Spooknjukes the victim or perpetrator?
Victim.

None of that is bullying. 4 man SWF on coms with flashlight macro's constantly clicking and still winning because they used a game offering is bullying. Flashlights need a click limiter and i have no idea why they have not done it yet.
Going into someone's steam profile to rage and cry and -rep after the game is bullying
weaponizing Twitch and youtube to shame a player because they didn't follow your rulebook, is bullying.
Threatening someone's family because they made a joke about swf and stretched is bullying (spooknjukes) Yes, survivor mains sink this low.

If you were to see my matches, I get chased PLENTY but the killer will leave me noticing that I am experienced.
I take a lot of protection hits AND successful sabo's with my toolboxes. Hell, I'll even trade hooks IF it's necessary.
I'm doing my part and I will help the team if I have the chance to but don't expect me to be superman and carry everyone else because if they won't do their part then so be it, I'll fight for myself.
Sounds like you are stuck where i am XD

Very true.
I wouldn't mind solo queue if I got teammates around my skill, but most survivors I pair up with play as if it's their first game. I always end up being the last survivor remaining in the trial.
Perhaps you need to take chase more often and body block for the others.

I know, the disconnect between the devs and the player base is so wide you could drive a cruise ship through it.
I said for months bones needs to be stompable, now they release a perk for it, something that should have been baseline.
As far as i am concerned that perk doesn't exist.
you nerf yourself by sacrificing gen defence or chase power for the potential to snuff a boon, only for it to pop up somewhere else. As a base kit option it is a good idea, as a perk is it pathetic. It is just a way to protect whoever's baby COH is and they can now just point at the perk and not actually nerf or delete the stupid thing.
-
Stealth nerf. Scratches use to be instant but they now have a delay. I don't know how it works, but if you don't have los on the survivor then there seems to be some kind of delay.
Like when you hit them and they run inside you. You look around and don't see any marks leading away, then you do another 360 scan and pop! there they go with the survivor waaaay off in the distance.
Like when you see a survivor sprint off with bbq and 2 seconds later when you get to where you last saw them there isn't a single scratch mark or even blood pool when they are injured and you know you should be able to see them.
Another stealth nerf they did was to fully shade gens in to nerf BBQ. After the update to the generator models, you could see the survivors aura through the middle part of the generator. Out of nowhere they just became a solid red blob.

I've heard the trade off would be killers would get corrupt baseline which would be a fair trade and negate swfs getting something for nothing.
And at least the person on the hook wouldn't just be insta farmed only the one getting unhooked.
That's what people wish would happen. The dev's never said or even hinted that that would happen like they did for bt base.
-
@Barbarossa2020 said:
Borrowed time baseline would be a good start.
Stop solo's getting farmed off the hook.
That's also a SWF buff so no, it isn't a good idea. It is even stupid for solo q because people will just rip you off the hook in the killers face more.

Sorry but that argument isn't viable. Who defines which Killers are viable in what MMR? Is Nurse a weak killer because some can't hit a single blink against survivors that just installed the game? Is Artist bad because I have no idea how to play her? No, but it might feel that way.
If you can't win with specific Killer sometimes it's not only because the Killer is too weak without addons, but because you just didn't play good enough, brought the wrong perks, got a bad map for you or made some bad decisions. Because we have no way of telling our MMR we can only guess that we might be in high MMR. For all we know we could be super far down or super high up. In my opinion there are only few Killers that heavily rely on addons. Of course when you play against the world's best survivors you'll have a hard time with the weaker Killers, but will their addons change that? Mostly not by much. The Doctor will not be able to teleport through objects like Nurse and Myers can't traverse the map in the same way Blight does no matter what addons they bring. Is there still a chance you might win with them? Yes.
Why is this even an argument? Some guy said less bp = more which isn't true. And now i have this?
Anyone who has played this game for long enough knows when a killer is or is not viable. There is a point in this horribly balanced game where your skill as killer is meaningless and will be surpassed by the physical limitations of the game and mechanics of survivors.
the best sadako player in the world is never going to beat the best survivor comp team. Full stop, no argument. A fully stacked Nurse on the other hand has a chance.

@Xernoton said:

That's true, but honestly do you need to run 1 or 2 specific addons every match? If not you probably won't need as many level ups any more to build a stack of these specific addons, since you can bring different addons. I have a pretty decent amount of addons on most Killers (other than maybe the 1 or 2 addons I never get in my bloodwebs like green chains for Billy) and I think even without BBQ I would be fine. I often play without running addons at all. I'd probably have to see how it would be without BBQ to really make a good guess but that point in particular doesn't bother me as much.
Depends on your mmr. when you start to reach the areas where nurse and blight are the only viable killers then add-ons mean everything for the other killers.
-
@Xernoton said:
Right now BBQ is probably the most game healthy perk for Killers, so I hope they don't nerf it too hard. Just think about it: You get rewarded for moving across the map, hooking multiple people, giving you a reason not to camp and making you more efficient. Without BBQ there is pretty much no perk other than Devour Hope, that gives you a good reason to leave the person you just hooked in order to get some kind of value out of it. Also BBQ is a great perk for beginners since it teaches them about survivor movements.
Would be sad to see that go. Maybe they'll only remove the bonus BP, which would be sad but understandable with the upcoming changes to the grind.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2982512#Comment_2982512
It is poor game design. Just try to calculate how many BP you need for ONE character to be complete. It's ridiculous. With BBQ you got something out of your matches at least. Imagine getting a perfect game with 32000 BP, which is not even enough for one level up! Than with BBQ you easily get 25.000 BP for an ok game and double it. That's a lot better. So without the extra BP you need so much more time to get to that point. Also BBQ is the only perk for Killers that can give you more than 32000 BP for a match. The other perks with Bonus BP cannot do that, since they just make you reach the 8000 BP cap on each category faster. and nothing more.
you understand that the "grind" is only in relation to perks right? If you take away the extra bp then you will have less addons to use and will be spending more time as a base kit killer.
-
The nerf won't change much. You will get hits in that you wouldn't have before the nerf, but it wil still be problematic.
They are only going to remove the distance while leaving the i frames. I assume they are going to give it a bonus for actually avoiding a hit as well.

Killers will be getting more add-ons though because of how much easier it will be to get perks. On a new killer with every other killer p3'd, you will only need to buy 9 perks and then the rest of the bloodweb is add-ons and offerings.
nope. You will have 25k to spend instead of 50k. how does that equal more items? Instead of fully completing a web per game, you will only get half a web done. Perk or no perk.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
I'd be fine if they got rid of the bp bonus entirely because it's coming at the same time with the prestiege/progression overhaul. I don't think it would be needed.
I think removing the bp bonus is probably the only way to drop it's pick rate.
The bloodweb size won't change. Less bp = less addons per game = more basekit trash killers because they are designed strong and then stripped down with their power in addons.
-
None. Play whoever you feel like, when you feel like it. That's what i do anyway.

VHS has almost zero viewership on twitch and hardly anyone streaming it. Cheat makers are just waiting for its release to bombard it.
Evil dead is an EPIC exclusive, which has greatly hurt it, and it looks like it will become old, fast. Gameplay is just to wander around until you find survivors and then just spam crap until you max out.

Solo Q is to have a whole different mentality. It isn’t about MMR. It’s about escaping the trial by any means. You play way the game was meant to be played. No comms to coordinate ridiculous/unrealistic plays that stall until objectives are done. The only issue with Solo Q imo is when 3 survivors were already together. Players spectate you after they die, and will tell their surviving teammate to kite killers directly toward you. Hoping their buddy will be spared. They’ll sit on the ground going “Nah nah nah boo boo! I got you caught too!”. I solo all the time, and THAT is the most annoying thing about solo Q. I can always abandon a potato/lemming.
If you want “high MMR” find a SWF to play with… Hope you love the constant stink of sweat. Spirit/Blight mains with Pain Switch, or angry Nurse mains with Agi Star Struck Fright. Ruin/Undying. That’s all you will see. 🥱
I want to get to a level where i don't need to sweat. You don't understand just how bad these survivors are. This is practically a 1v1 that is going on because the game couldn't find a suitable killer (there are none) and just shoves some 2k hour Nurse main against some sub 100 hour survivors.
The game would be way easier if i had higher mmr because the other 3 would actually do generators. Pre sbmm, i was sometimes lucky to get 2 gens done before the game was over. Hell, it was sometimes a struggle to do enough to gain a pip because the game was so fast. Now? I seem to be the only one doing them.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
There's no escape from it, unfortunately. It's all relative, so even if you increase your MMR to a top percentile, you're still going to be matched with relatively awful teammates by design. You'll feel the 350 no matter where you are.
Not only that, sometimes you're the backfill survivor in a low MMR lobby and there's no good way to tell. Sometimes there are multiple backfills in the same lobby and the match is an absolute circus.
The system needs a ton of work
After i made this i had some decent games. I guess i just need to play at that specific time of day to have some fun.
The games i had at the start were atrocious.

@sulaiman said:
i thought escapes do? So i really thought the hatch would. If i am mistaken, look for an swf to play for some time.
Nope. they took that out because people were just sitting in lockers and jumping out the hatch to climb mmr. you must exit through the gates to gain mmr.
-
@sulaiman said:
clairvoyance and a key, and dont get found first. Clairvoyance alone with get you the hatch if the killer is not slugging, and if he is, dont fall for it.
The last few dozen games for me tend to be filled with survivors on my own level of competence (by which i basicly mean they actually do gens, i dont ask for much), which means most of the time 2-3 survivors escape, highly depending on the killer playstyle.
IF you reach that point, solo queue is what it should be, in my opinion. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, but only a few games are frustrating because your teammates suck or the killer tunnels/camps heavily.
But the hatch doesn't raise your mmr.

How do we know either of them are coming? The devs tend to change ideas around a lot so it could be completely different now.
They said so on stream and pinpointed the distance part.

@Phasmamain said:
Dead hard is already getting a rework though. As for COH yeah I’d say just completely change it to a different perk. It goes against boon design and is just hinders fun gameplay styles on the killers end
Its getting a change, but not a good one.
Remove the distance and keep the I frames? Awful for ranged killers and will still E to pallet in many situations
Remove the I frames and keep the distance? Awful for m1 killers and still possible to use against ranged killers, just E at an angle.

@WaveyTrey said:
As Solo Q you have to think for your own escape mostly. However, if you insist on team work to get out… You have to be FULLY responsible for your team as they’re lacking. This is because I noticed as a solo survivor if you’re too good at chases the killer will leave you for the easy prey. They get you later when the pallets are all gone.
1.) Be the support. Either the medic, or the flashlight savior. If survivors keep getting hurt/caught you have to tend to them until the others finish the objective. If all you do is gens as solo you’ll lose.
2.) Run Clairvoyance. Cleanse a totem. The moment the team fails you abandon them, and hide. Use that power, and find the hatch. You will escape most of the time. I know I always did using this perk as solo Q.
3.) Run Plunderers and Appraisal. Find a key, and get out. Use the rituals to spawn the hatch somewhere purposely. The killer will likely close it, and walk off to check the exits. Not knowing you can find a key somewhere, and open it. You usually find a purple/red key this way. If you start the trial with a key the killer is aware. They will either slap it out your hands, stand on hatch, or worse. A survivor finds where you left it.
Hatch doesn't raise your mmr.
-
I tried to play survivor yesterday and just gave up. Once you get low enough the survivor role is deleted from the game. You can't win if the other survivors don't do gens, and killers can only get so bad while survivors can easily be worse then the newest killer player in the game.
It is a perpetual spiral of losing that you can't break out of without SWF. Solo players should have a different way of scoring mmr tbh.
-
I don't understand his power. Sometimes he will just randomly do a massive lunge and fly past the survivor, and others he will instantly bash the survivor. I hate inconsistency.
-
I miss the period before Mikaela destroyed the game with the boon mechanic. Massive downhill sprint after that and steam reflects it.

Ah yes because a killer that can noclip through walls, ignoring all environmental defences (which the game is balanced around) should also be able to one shot survivors! What great game balance!
Gideon meat plant is totally balanced. /s

Whats with all the sudden Nurse hate? Are killers getting sick of playing trash that gets nerfed for no reason or something?
-
The only thing he has is animation locks. A simple 360 will force his attack to miss every time if you don't abuse the glitch he has.

Sadly "gg" doesn't mean what it should in this game with this community.
-
Survivor gets hooked- killer chases another survivor- that survivors runs directly at the hook for no reason- killer now has a survivor hooked and a slug who refuses to crawl away from under the hook.
-
Wouldn't be shocked.
I have another stealth nerf for you that you may not have noticed. Gens now fully block survivor auras. You use to be able to see a survivors aura through the gap in the middle of the gen with bbq, but now it is just solid red.
For a company that sends someone onto the forums to state that they "do not do stealth nerfs" they sure do many of them.
-
If survivors force a map on me then i will camp. Map offerings shouldn't be in the game while we have the current map designer who thinks the game is a perfectly balanced map with no issues.

Killers have a 55% or so kill rate already on average, a 1 minute additional slowdown with no other changes would be too much in our favor (and I’m saying that as a killer main).
What’s more likely is they’ll slightly slow down gens across the board, or maybe do the weakened Corrupt as base kit, but also tweak all the regression perks down a bit so they don’t change the overall balance of the game if you continue to use them in the slower gen environment. That ways loadouts which had little or no gen regression will do significantly better than they currently do and loadouts with heavy gen regression will perform about the same as they currently do. So it would even out how good various builds are without hopefully raising the average kill rates of the best builds.
eh.. that's actually terrible if you think about it. A killer can only get so bad, they hold W and m1. It doesn't matter how bad you are as killer, you will eventually catch a survivor at least once.
These numbers include day one fresh survivors that i would agree is way harder to win as compared to killer when you are new. The fact we are including these people and are at 50% is awful.
I did an experiment and tanked my rank to see what it is like down there, and it baffles me how killers lose against these survivors. But here we are at 50% kills and deaths. It got to a point where i had maxed out every possible category at 4 gens and had to sit in a corner to let them escape.
-
Question is, will they do enough? A 1 minute base kit corrupt isn't going to cut it.
-
Step 1 point and shoot
Step 2 hope you have awful ping
step 3 hope the survivors have the reaction time of a slug.
-
@ad19970 said:
I agree 100%. Only balancing around the highest mmr would cause some serious issues.
Generally they should try to improve balancing for all ranks. I am not sure how heavily killer is actually favored at low ranks. But I would highly guess the biggest reason for that is camping and tunneling.
This is why I am very hopeful that DBD will receive some baseline changes that nerf camping and tunneling, and then some baseline buffs to make the average match go a bit slower, so killer feels less stressful. I think that would definitely help the balance difference between low and high ranks, because you kind of just nerf the least skillful gameplay of killers, while buffing the more skillful gameplay.
Why would it cause any issues? That's what sbmm is for.
Are you trash at the game? that's fine, because sbmm will put an equally trash killer against you. Are you god tier at the game? that's fine, because bhvr did the correct thing and made killers viable for you to face and sbmm will put you against good killers.
What do we have now?
Nobody playing killer and long q time? oh well.. time over balance so here is a 5k hour killer against your trash solo squad.. can't get a game with your 30k hour swf? Been dodged 40 times in the last hour? Here is a 200 hour legion.
-
@Mandy said:
The main thing with the perk rework, as the graphs in the blogpost showed, is that at higher MMR you are consistently seeing the same perks over and over...which many players feel leads to a very stale meta. This is a way of shaking up that meta and maybe changing the playstyles at least a little and give people more variety in what perks they can choose and make other perks more appealing.
You can't just nerf the perks and only "slightly" change the base game.
What are you going to do about gen speed? Survivors attention span is way too short to increase the time. At least that's what i gather from all the "it's boring" posts whenever someone brings it up.
What are you going to do about camping? The only solution requires drastic changes like making hooks work like Pyramid cages. perhaps replace hooks with offering pits and the entity dangles the survivor on a random part of the map from a hook.
Small changes will not cut it if you remove all the band aid perks bhvr made to cover these issues.
Survivors have other options besides the meta perks, they just never take them because it requires luck or team work to make them work.
What do killers have, Monstrous shrine? Their perks either do nothing useful, or have so many requirements that they are useless or even harmful to take.
