MMR is broken for solo players.

I did not play much survivor before MMR came out. This means i am stuck in the trash ranks. It doesn't matter what i do, i can't carry an entire team of actual potatoes to victory when they won't do gens and can't loop past the 20 second mark...

Apart from all this, the biggest problem i have noticed is that the killers we are getting are not on the same level. I am talking about sub 100 hour survivors who do not even have a full perk loadout (yes i have sunk that low because ######### am i supposed to do when i can't in any way get out the doors?) are getting killers with 2000 + hours with full perk loadouts. There is clearly zero new killers available to put new players with. There is no other way to explain this

There needs to be a different way of scoring solo players or something.

  • Most killers have +50% killrate because solo-q. They are making game looks like balanced.

  • High MMR as solo is fun and you escape more than not. But no matter how good you are if you get stuck with bad survivors, you need that lucky streak of escapes to get out and that can take time. But it will happen.

  • The algorithm is literally written backwards so that high ranking killers get absolute babies and medicore or bad killers get the greatest loopers out there. This results in the greatly coveted ~50% escape rate, while making the matches complete #########. I don't know how this translates to hockey, but I guess pretty good job so far?

  • clairvoyance and a key, and dont get found first. Clairvoyance alone with get you the hatch if the killer is not slugging, and if he is, dont fall for it.

The last few dozen games for me tend to be filled with survivors on my own level of competence (by which i basicly mean they actually do gens, i dont ask for much), which means most of the time 2-3 survivors escape, highly depending on the killer playstyle.

IF you reach that point, solo queue is what it should be, in my opinion. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, but only a few games are frustrating because your teammates suck or the killer tunnels/camps heavily.

But the hatch doesn't raise your mmr.

  • i thought escapes do? So i really thought the hatch would. If i am mistaken, look for an swf to play for some time.

  • Welcome to the ELO hell of any pvp game?

Other games with MMR and ELO are all the same. You either get lucky enough for multiple teams not full of potatoes, are so good that you can carry the team on your own or are stuck in ELO hell.

The only difference in DBD is that the killer side doesn't have that problem but is also balance wise not on par with equally skilled survivor in the general scheme.

Also, if you just want to climb only in ELO aka just survive then you might want to tune down your altruism and play selfish to the bitter end and just outlive the others and hope for hatch.

You don't have to carry the team, you "just" have to survive on your own.

Pipping, emblems and grades on the other hand are a whole different story.

  • What do u expect, only way to play survivor is swf if you wanna have fun/win

Nope. they took that out because people were just sitting in lockers and jumping out the hatch to climb mmr. you must exit through the gates to gain mmr.

  • There's no escape from it, unfortunately. It's all relative, so even if you increase your MMR to a top percentile, you're still going to be matched with relatively awful teammates by design. You'll feel the 350 no matter where you are.

Not only that, sometimes you're the backfill survivor in a low MMR lobby and there's no good way to tell. Sometimes there are multiple backfills in the same lobby and the match is an absolute circus.

The system needs a ton of work

After i made this i had some decent games. I guess i just need to play at that specific time of day to have some fun.

The games i had at the start were atrocious.
