Wha, when and where did she say this?
That's just absurd.
Range addon increases range and requires you to charge the blink for longer, nowhere it is written that it slows down your travel speed.
It's the same unwritten effect like Spirit's duration addon where no matter what you'll always require 10s to get 100% of your power even though your power is 125% now.
Nurse's blinks always take 1,5s to reach the endpoint when fully charged and with a 30m blink she travels faster to keep the 1,5s rule intact.
That's a very accurate description of what's happening. The range addons increase the distance travelled by the nurse - the total blink time is always the same, so the nurse has a faster blink speed as a result.
page 7 nurse thread.. i don't know how to quote it here.
-
Lock one locker at a time to get 2 uses out of them. If he drops the remnant then just run to the next loop because it slows him down. You can also just stand under the pallet if your reactions are fast enough.

All swf are not good some are worser than solos and competent solos can be nearly as dangerous than swf. Good sfw would ofcourse face only nurse and blight so there should be more killers who can have chance. Oni should start with his power so then he would be right behind nurse in power and good killers would be able to down people right at start. But oni also can be looped bit so he still would be lot more fun killer to face than nurse. Some other killers also needs buff to make them able to compete. But hate to see artist ranked better than oni when oni power is clearly second best in the game but very limited how you can use it.
No, not all SWF are good, they are artificially boosted by Coms compared to if they were solo though and the top will always mostly be comprised of swf.

Range was always busted. Old Omega Blink was busted and even with the working and intended version of range Add-ons (which they are no at the moment) they are still busted.
Like you said, I love vsing double recharge or basically any Nurse which isn't range. Dodging something which moves at the speed of light at mid range is quite impossible. They worked as intended before they recoded the Nurse and even then it was really strong.
Mandy confirmed they are working correctly. Please don't follow a streamers words as fact.

1700 is an arbitrary number, as we don't know how much we gain or lose per match. And you can watch top tier streamers like Otz and Ayrun - you'll see that they often face opponents they know. There is definitely a 'high MMR' bracket.
Yes, queue times and lobby dodges are a problem, and I wish they'd fix that.
It is the official soft cap.
Really?.. the guy that wins with no perks and 30s afk against people that only needed to hold down one button. I have watched OTZ and some of the survivors he gets are highly questionable.
Ayrun?!?! the guy that makes troll videos making killers look stupid and gets killers that fall down holes and still fall for dumb tech and CJ tech? Most of my grabs are from morons attempting cj tech. It's so obvious.

Sort of. It was a million times worse under ranks.
The core problem is that SWF adds another RNG element to the mix - and should really be taken care of by MMR (matching you against a higher MMR killer, proportional to the size of your group).
Facing a solo survivor and facing that same survivor in an organized group is night and day.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3005681#Comment_3005681
I'm certainly not top MMR, but I watch a lot of streamers that are, and they get - in addition to Blight and Nurse - a ton of Huntresses, a good few Spirits, the odd Billy, the occasional Artists and Bubbas and every so often a Plague, a Demo, a Doctor or an Oni.
But that's...high MMR in any game. The higher you get, the more ossified the meta becomes - because to get that high, you need to do both what's optimal, and counter what is optimal for the other side.
It's not going to be fixed by relaxing MMR - it's going to be fixed by giving Blight and Nurse a slight nerf to some of their addons, and buffing a lot of lower tier killers.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3005693#Comment_3005693
Solo queue is annoying sometimes, but I've also been paired with utter champions that carry me. You get what you get.
There is no true high mmr. It is capped at 1700 where it potentially starts to mix people and then even that is thrown out the window if you get dodged or wait too long.
If we had a proper strict mmr then all they would get is nurse and blight because that is all that can realistically and consistently compete against experienced swf. Not even comp teams...

@StarLost said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/328865/swf-will-never-be-nerfed-or-removed
SWF isn't a problem. People just lobby shopped previously.
The problem is that the system doesn't account for SWF. Other companies had premades get an inflated MMR proportional to the size of the party, which paired them with more dangerous opponents to compensate.
DbD has no such system, if you group with your friends, you're facing the same killer you'd face solo, but with the additional benefit of coordination. Then you end up with an inflated MMR, get pantsed when you play solo again and come to the forums to complain about how OP killers are.
You have 3 sides to balance. This means that balance is even more impossible. For killers to stand a chance against coordinated groups, they need to be strong enough to melt solo players. If killers were nerfed to be more manageable for solos, then they'd get stomped by premades.
I'm a fan of the MMR option, but...
The devs seem to want a different route - trying to buff solo queue to the level of SWF, and then buffing killers to compensate. It's going to be a...wild ride.
They won't do true mmr because they know all SWF will get is Blight and nurse. They will get bored and not spend money or quit.
-
That's just normal gameplay to me.. I still don't know how people fall for cj tech any more since pallet + survivor with flashlight = obvious. Perhaps i just get attempts at it so often that i am use to it?
All you are seeing is the potential survivors have, but not many use. This is why balancing for mid while ignoring the edge cases is not a good idea. Especially in a game with sbmm where you will be put against people who know how to abuse every mechanic to its full potential.

Why they would do that? We still have to grind to p3 every characters. And if they remove bp bonuses, grind will be issue for new players as well.
Because they always do this.
Just look at legion changes. They gave some form of lethality to his power, but took away duration addons and only gave him 10 seconds to do it. The chance of getting 5 hits is exceptionally slim.
There is no other reason for WGLF to be on that list other than they are taking away the bp bonus on BBQ and need to match it on WGLF for fairness.
-
@Laurie268 said:
I really hope BBQ keeps the aura reading ability, I feel naked without it
WGLF is on the list so they might be deleting bp bonuses after the update to counteract the grind changes and make it take just as long anyway.
-
It won't be dead. Either it will have I frames and be useful against range killers and you bet they will give it a boost for a successful miss. Or it will have the distance and continue to function the same against any m1 killer or tight loop.
They won't gut it like they do killer perks.
-
The base game changes better make up for zero gen defence.
-
I hit a survivor and got a full hit cooldown, scream and blood splat. But they were fine... I have not had that since they changed hit detection.
Ghost survivors, weird hits or misses with nurse. huge teleports on downed survivors. Yeah, they have been fiddling.
-
Lets just hope the base changes are meaningful enough to make up for removing all gen defence from the game. If they aren't then be prepared for 15-30 minute q times as survivor.

I gave up on this for a while. Had one game where another survivor was lopping the killer around shack. I kept moving around the walls while this was happening (I was injured). Another game a trapper hit me and turned around and faced the other way and just stood there so I crouched behind them. Didn't get the achievement. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
I got it XD
Game offering, iron will and empathy. You will be the most useless team mate in history and everyone will hate you but, you can just follow above or below the chase when the killer hits someone.
-
The hide one is impossible.. Been trying for an hour and the killer either moves away or spots me because the other survivor uses me as bait because "im not doing anything"

Do you usually ask random people who've been punched if they walked into the fist?
Nah. Just made me think of a game in eyrie of crows yesterday where the developers oh so graciously gave me one hook for the back half of the map. You can guess what the survivors did after i used it up.
-
You will miss out on stacking the offering so end up with overall less bp.

I think what's happening here is a client/server mismatch issue. The client says that the teleport is ready so it tries to start it, but the server is like "nope" and rolls it back, cancelling the teleport entirely. You can see whenever it happens that the charge bar increases/decreases in chunks rather than having a smooth progression.
Reminds me of the Myers tier rollback bug.
Well.. whatever it is, they broke him with the tentative fixes they did..
-
Guessing you are that survivor that runs to the corner of farm or crow map to avoid being hooked thanks to stupid decisions?
-
@[Deleted User] said:
No? I'm not sure what you mean.
If you try to teleport to a locker before the imaginary charge timer is up, then it cancels it. I seem to remember being able to spam the button and it wouldn't cancel the charge before this update. The wait time also seemed shorter as well.

I know this may sound odd, but I have more fun getting a 2k in a swf match against a good team vs a 4k win with two DCs.
I prefer aggressive swf matches where they play crazy to the same ol spine chill shift w scared survivors.
Gimme 2 flashys and Bubba gonna have some fun, it is almost boring when no one is gonna try to flashlight you. I always play like its a swf when picking up survs, look around, double back.... and sometimes im like, "where are they?" hiding in a corner.... man come get some.
What about the SWF that Shift W predrop and smash gens as fast as possible?

Yes, it's a conspiracy to make money at the expense of killers. That's why Nurse and Blight have been taken down so SWFs don't have any competition and spend more money.
Wait.
Don't worry. Nurse will be on the chopping block soon since more people are picking her upthanks to SBMM pushing better survivors and figuring out the other killers are dog doo.

I have a feeling they don't know how to code it to prevent MLGA working again.

what? all i do is find the pillar and i get a mask at the end.

I don’t know what kind of lobbies you’re getting where survivors will run toward you like suicidal lemmings and not just do gens when you’re camping
You "walk away" then just turn around and 9.9/10 times one of the lemmings is already running in for the save. Now you have one on hook, one in chase and force another to save.
-
You mean the survivors flooding onto killer for easy challenge completion and points? yeah..

You don’t as many bloodpoints when you camp and tunnel because you’re not doing as many chases, pallet and gen breaks, etc.
LOL!
hmm.. camp and force the spread out sheep to come to me so i can get more chases and downs, or waste 20-35 second crossing the map every single hook to eventually start a chase after they are pre warned by their buddy on the hook and run early.

SWFs aren't a problem at all, not every SWF you face is a comp squad doing all gens in 4 minutes. Most of the time it's friends trying to have a chill game. There's lots of things to counter good swfs too but people don't want to learn.
Care to name some that isn't camp and tunnel?
-
@BrokenSouI said:
No. I've been trumpeting this forever now. Maps are stupidly, disgustingly safe. Even ones that are deamed more "fair" like coal tower are pretty damn strong with a strong main building and tiles right beside each other for easy chaining.
It's THE problem with DBD and what makes a lot of camping and tunneling happen
Coal tower has never been fair and i don't know what streamer started that stigma. I have had some of my easiest games as survivor on that map thanks to the obnoxious ability to chain jungle gyms while also having that long wall safe loop spawn that you normally see on farm maps.
-
@egg_ said:
In dead dawg you need to break 2 walls to make it somewhat bearable, if you're breaking all 5 walls you're doing something wrong (especially cause you create a virtual infinite for survivors). And anyway, you should avoid main building. The map is very small and most pallets are unsafe, it's not that bad and there are easy 3 gens
Midwhich is probably the most killer sided map of the game. Fun to play? No, but not survivor friendly either
Farm maps aren't really bad either tbh, except cowshed, that is just like pre rework Ormond
Double edge sword. Small map = easy or in the case of m1 killers, possible, to patrol gens. But it also means that in most situations the survivor can also reach the overpowered building each chase.

So let's just penalize survivors even further by forcing them to sit on the hook and not have a chance to get off or leave earlier because their teammates aren't doing anything to help save them. I'll never understand why people here just want to penalize players more than what they already get penalized for, or for things that don't require penalizing. So yeah, just make the game less fun. Makes sense I guess.
You think it was fun for the 3 people you left?
-
@Phantom_ said:
Idk I don't speak on their behalf.
And yes, I agree that in some cases it's really not valid, but in a few it is. But to remove it completely as a mechanic just because of a few is nonsensical to me. They could make it so that if a player does suicide on hook two games in a row, they then get penalised, same as with DC-ing.
It would need at least a 5 game track for the penalty.
I just got peeved because i had 6 games in a row where someone just left asap for seemingly no reason or because the killer was proxy. The thing is that Kindred showed me why the killer was there. The survivor they were after was looping at the hook or just standing there.
Finally had a win streak to get me out of mmr hell and it was ruined by this. I guess it wasn't a skilled play by me to join a match with these people without reading their mind.

No. You're just making statements based on assumptions. I never specified when SD-ing on hook would be okay. Or which buffs I meant. Also, I play both sides equally so don't give me that nonsense argument of me making it us vs them.
I don't struggle much as a killer to get a 3k/4k. I don't camp nor tunnel. If a surv does suicide on 1st hook early game or DC's, I do go easy on the others. Because I know how that feels as a surv.
As survivor, I play 99% soloq, and I've had many games in a row where I've gotten face-camped on 5 gens, hard-tunneled, or where other players are too afraid to go for hook rescue. After a certain amount of games, I'm done with wasting my time and do as I please. I don't owe my free time to survivors that are hiding in the bushes or not going for a save. I'd rather just move on to the next game.
Obviously, I wouldn't do that in a team where people are actually trying to play the game and aren't just hiding. But you do you. 🤷
What about the survivors that do it because they got found first?
What about the survivors that do it because they don't like the killer?
What about the survivors that do it because they just want to?
This isn't just because of campers. There are many other situations where a survivor does this for seemingly no reason and it should be prevented..
-
@Phantom_ said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/328111/why-is-hook-suicide-still-in-the-game
If I waited out the timer or took the "5 minutes" after every game I got face-camped and tunneled to death I'd be penalised for a week lmao. Better to uninstall the game at that point and move to something less toxic ✌️
But yeah, sure. Take more away from survivors, nerf them into the ground and give more buffs to whiney killers.
Your logic is flawed by blind us vs them bias.
Forcing a survivor to stay in the game is not a buff to the killer... a survivor leaving asap makes the game easier if not a free win for the killer.

The thing is, I did not choose to me matched with rage quit mcgee, i cold not tell the thought process of said person or mannerisms of said person in the lobby. It is not entitled of me to complain about some self centered person rage quitting when their version of fun is ruined.

No one owes anyone anything. I know a lot of people say when someone's being face-camped: "just hold out so that your team can get gens done" - that's fair enough, but time is precious and if someone doesn't want to spend minutes of their lives playing skill check simulator whilst being hit on the hook by a face-camping killer, they should be given the option to end the game for themselves.
Regarding people who do it because they've either had enough of the match they're in or don't like the killer they're against... I personally wouldn't do this, but again, no one owes any other player anything so it's ultimately their decision if they feel the game is a waste of their time or they're not enjoying it.
The biggest issue here is that the current game allows face camping to be a viable strategy, especially against killers with strong, insta-down abilities (T3 Myers, Bubba, etc.).
Killers can't leave when they feel like it.

Why would killers need to use it though if they have enough time to actually get chases in and clear up some pallets?
