Like the ol’ “bum rush every hook just because I have BT” players.

I decimated a red rank team yesterday on Shelter Woods as Clown that were doing this. I wasn’t even camping (until it happened 6 times in a row), i’d go a few steps and a survivor would pop out. I’ve learnt to time strikes on a rescuer so that my attack cool down ends just as the unhook occurs so that I can down the rescuer before they can run away. They were just trading hooks over and over. I couldn’t believe it and thought they were just playing silly.

But end game chat was “you camping trash”

I’m like a) just because you have BT doesn’t mean bum rushing the hook isn’t dumb, and b) that behaviour only ENCOURAGES a killer to camp after so many times in a row. Like what SHOULD a killer do if it’s predictably apparent at least one other survivor is already hiding by the hook.

It's not camping if they don't let you leave.

Buckle Up: Give it the Kindred effect in the sense that, when you're downed, other Survivors see your aura/Recovery progress the same as you do when they're down.

Cruel Limits: Rather than block the vaults within range of the generator, block the vaults within range of the Killer themselves.

Territorial Imperative: When this perk activates, gain a speed boost when moving in the direction of the basement.

  • I wondered recently about maybe having more Add-ons like the Nurse's spoon and Bad Man Keepsake, addons to their powers that mimic their Teachable Perks, like if Leatherface's chainsaw had Franklin's Demise or Knock Out on it. a Survivor intoxicated by the Clown's bottles closed off the next window they vaulted through, or Survivors became exhausted while ripping up a Demogorgon portal.

  • I occasionally get nice messages when I play Killer, since I often prefer to farm and am fine with letting people escape. Once got called the nicest Ghost Face ever and more recently got thanked for not Death Hooking a Laurie I kept downing (I kept running into her, downed her for the pressure but didn't stop her getting picked up).

Thanks for the input, and I gave his builds a look. With my poor hearing I have to be more of a visual hunter, so again Whispers is ineffective for me. Every build there had pay-perks unfortunately, but he brought up M&A, which I never considered for my Pig but am going to try.

I would thinking working mostly visually would make Whispers a great choice. My understanding has been that, despite the name, the thing you're really watching for is the perk to light up to tell you someone is close. The actual whisper sounds it makes are secondary/ unreliable.

That said, would the Wraith's Predator and Bloodhound perks be useful to you? They help with tracking by Scratch Marks and Blood Trails and Wraith is a base game killer in all versions.

  • My ideas:

Monstrous Shrine: The effects on the basement hooks are also applied to a single hook that you have used to hook two or more different survivors.

Beast of Prey: Along with its current effect, decrease the amount of time needed to reach Bloodlust.

Mindbreaker: Its effect becomes cumulative. The longer you spend on a generator, the longer Mindbreaker's effect lingers for after it stops causing exhaustion.

  • I've tried incorporating it into an anti-tunneling build but I haven't quite worked it out yet.

i dont mind them, and i typically farm when im killer, unless i have a challenge to do. but as survivor they are a nice break, though i've only had like 3 matches like that.

I'm much the same. I'll play sweaty until I have one hook apiece for Barbecue & Chili, then just run around/ harass the Survivors to max out my non-sacrifice points. I don't go for the killso the Survivors can get their 5k survival points. If I down someone, if I don't go for the second hook, I'll let them wiggle free, usually while doing something like circling the hook or just standing in front of it to indicate I'm actively not killing them.

  • I wouldn't be against money/auric cell purchases not crossing over. It'd be annoying but I can appreciate why it might have to be that way. BHVR's not the only ones who get money off those, after all. But stuff purchased or unlock purely in-game, such as with Shards or Bloodpoints, would be a whole other matter.

My expectation for cross-save/progression would be any Teachables unlocked on one platform cross over to the other(s), any Perks and levels gained would combine, ideally favoring the highest gain (so if you had Aftercare 1 on Dwight on PS4 and Aftercare 3 on Dwight on PC, the Aftercare 3 gets priority). If you unlocked Teachable Adrenaline on Switch but not PC, PC would get it, and so on. Shard and Bloodpoint amounts would ideally combine into one lump sum, since I can't think of any good reason for them not to.

  • They've since changed how Deep Wounds works so that specific scenario wouldn't be an issue anymore.

I honestly just figured it's similar to why Pigs can't see progress on activated Reverse Bear Traps, or Plague can't see sickness progress on Survivors.

Or...you could do Rancor+Nemesis. Had a game where after I moried the obsession by the exit gates and their teammates t-bagged next to me during the animation, one of em decided to try to farm some quick BPs by flashlight blinding me. Obsession swaped over and I got ANOTHER mori, lol.

I had a game like that recently. Was playing Hillbilly for a Ritual to killer a Survivor by my hand. I decided to use Rancor instead of the Mori so I could just get the kill at Endgame, and used Nemesis to improve my chances of being around an obsession when the time came. I got that fine, then towards the end I was chainsawing towards a Feng and she pallet-stunned me, making her the Obsession. I decided "Well, okay" and got Mori #2.I let the other two crawl out since they were right by the gate. Funny thing is the two I killed had more bloodpoints than the two who escaped.

  • My initial thought was a BP bonus as was mentioned already, a general boost to gains like what Distressing or Thrill of the Hunt give Killers, but to a category like Boldness in particular or to BP gains in general.

Another thought would be to buff with more "partial perks". You anyway get a weaker version of Iron Will and Unbreakable (in the sense that the revival is normal speed), so how about weaker versions of Resilience for actions (lower %than actual resilience but still a bump up) or Mettle of Man (taking a Protection Hit offers a Luck based chance of not being put into Dying State) , or something like the old, non- obsession version of Decisive Strike (get a chance to escape if hit wiggle a certain amount).

The basic idea is to make the rewards worth the risk. Either with more bloodpoint gains or by adding more "mini-perks" to what's already there.

Lol finding a nurse on console is like 1 in 50 games. That's why people will meme and taunt every nurse they see. And that's why you get kills as Nurse because the survivors just dick around.

Speaking for myself, that's one reason i took up Nurse on console, her rarity compare to other Killers.

  • @Dweeteater said:

Here's my tip: Learn Clown first.

Get his bottle toss down 100% and your Nurse game will improve. At least on console. I used to be a straight up scrub with her but after learning how to judge Clown's bottle toss, ive wrecked the last 5 or so lobbys ive faced.

Is it because learning the bottles helps figure out distances/ how long to charge bottles and blinks?

Took me 6 days of playing Nurse (Xbox) before it clicked. For some reason I'm a god tier Nurse on indoor maps I almost always get 4k solo red ranks or SWF teams. But on outdoor big maps I have trouble and corn is not my friend either. Nurse can be a really strong killer even on console and with her bugs so just continue playing. One day her bugs will be fixed and Nurse will be even stronger.

Thats been my initial experience, too. My first successful games with Switch Nurse were in Hawkins. One of the first times i tried her on ps4 for a ritual i for Lery's and did better than expected. Though i think the survivors 3-genned themselves on that one.

  • While in low ranks, I've managed 4ks on console with Nurse. I tend to do fantastic or horrible. There is no middle ground

  • I've been learning her on Switch and PC but have also started leveling her on ps4.

In case it helps, OhTofu recently came out with a Nurse guide ( https://youtu.be/BwYQImUDgXo ). I watched it and quickly identified one thing I'd been doing wrong (trying to use my blinks to get ahead of survivors instead of using blink 1 to get a bead and blink 2 to nail the hit.).

Legion's got the Legion Pin (Green button) that'll put Broken for 60s onto any Survivor with Killer Instinct- that's a better and longer lasting choice over FP. What you're saying is interesting, but there's better options I think for most Killers.

One thing I've wondered is do Forced Penance and the Legion Pin stack? If so, that's potentially a minute and a half of broken status.

  • That's pretty much my process. Play sweaty to get one hook apiece for barbecue stacks, then work on maxing out my non- sacrifice points. Sometimes I go for a second hook, sometimes not. I'm typically fine with letting the Survivors go., even farming if they catch on, but I only sweat when I'm playing a killer I'm not as good with since there it's part of the learning process.

  • I'm all for this. I was playing Plague for a ritual and was approaching a generator I knew had been worked on. My Corrupt Purge was about to run out so I yolo-barfed over the rocks around the generator and actually got a hit.

After game chat also suggested I put the scare into someone still new to the game.

  • Puppers is the one I'll go to anytime, anywhere. As a Doctor main i also recently discovered Archdruiddrey.

  • I could see the Tank for Hillbilly, what he lacks in bulk he makes up for in gait

  • My own idea was the Special Infected as a whole could be a Killer.

You start as a random Special Infected, say the Boomer, who has a power similar to the Plague as noted above. However, an aspect of the power is to randomly "self- destruct", or cease playing as that Special Infected and reload as another Special Infected, say the Smoker, who plays similar to Deathslinger, or the Spitter, whose closer to Corrupt Purge Plague to the Boomer's Vile Purge. The Hunter could pounce like Demogorgon.

Basically, each SI would behave similar to a pre- existing Killer but have the option to swap between them at regular intervals. Not shapeshifting, which Puppers often notes the Devs can't do, but reloading like it was a new game.

The chance to be the Tank or Witch would be Ultra Rare add-ons. As for what the Witch could do, she could be Undetectable save for her crying until she's in chase, at which point she blows up into T3 Myers and can one-shot the first Survivor she gets into chase with.

  • I always use Survival Offerings right away for that reason. They're the biggest gamble of the bunch.

My own superstition is that if I start the first gen I see when the game starts, it's a guarantee I'll be the first one found.

  • Crotus Legion Bug.zip

Got a video of the same bug in Crotus Penn Asylum. I spent a full Frenzy trying and failing to go through the window, but can go through without incident once Frenzy ends.

  • Alternatively, why not just make all Offerings secret to the other side? The Killer's Offering is always secret to the Survivors and the Survivors' Offering(s) are always secret to the Killer.

  • It shall disappoint the Glow Cloud, but All Hail the Brown Medkit! All Hail!

  • The question becomes then: Is that a bad thing?

  • An alternative to Monstrous Shrine mentioned above: in theme with the description about how you care for the hooks: Along with the basement hooks, give the MS buff to a hook you put more than one survivor on. The buff lasts on that hook until it is used up in a sacrifice, sabotaged, or you get multiple survivors on a different hook.

Requiring two different survivors rather than any two survivors is there to discourage tunneling.

  • Mindbreaker: Make the Exhaustion effect cumulative. The longer you spend on a generator the longer the exhaustion effect lasts when you get off of it/ reach the halfway point at which Mindbreaker stops working.

  • It seems to me the Hatch is less a "Second Chance" and more of a "Last Chance". One that could very easily not work out depending on luck, such as if the hatch has even spawned to be located early.

  • Does the bug fix affect these add-ons, or does their having "for the first time" add a state effect make them an exception. My understanding was the bug was affecting add-ons that were supposed to affect getting to tier 3 in general, so it affected the first time when it was supposed to affect them all.

  • @katoptris said:

If it a mini mori the killer gonna depipped and deranked.

I think the mini-mori only kicks in if they're already on death hook

  • Even if console and PC cross play isn't viable, what about console specific cross play between PS4, Xbox, and Switch?

  • Survivor: Kindred

    Killer: Dark Devotion

  • One thing that hasn't come up yet but may be useful: The Doctor loses Bloodlust when he uses Shock Therapy. So if you're up against a Doctor who makes heavy use of his shocks that's one less thing you have to worry about.

  • @NinjaDette1 said:

Usually I am a wraith main and survivor but I gave up on wraith. Now I’m trying as the doctor but does anyone have any tips I have iron grasp but the survivors in a few matches except one match always escape.

One thing to be aware of is using Shock Therapy makes you lose Bloodlust if you have it. So if you're in a chase long enough for that to matter, you'll need to make a choice whether to keep the lust or take the shock.

With plagues broken you can by cleansing thats why i was confused.

Ah, I see what you mean. Maybe then it's more accurate to say the fountains don't cleanse a self-inflicted Broken status. So Survivor Perks with Broken-causing effects (Deliverance , No Mither, Second Wind) aren't cleansed by the Fountains but the Broken effects caused by the Plague herself is.

In that situation I'm not sure what would happen if a fully Sick person who kobe'd with Deliverance cleansed. Barring bugs or glitches, I'd assume you'd at least stay Broken for the duration of Deliverance's effect. Whether you healed after due to the cleanse I have no idea. My guess would be "No", though, because I'm willing to bet the fountain heal isn't really set to go on standby like that.

  • I would assume the Broken status takes precedence, no different than if a No Mither cleansed at a fountain. You'd still cleanse the sickness but you get no healing from it if you're Broken.

  • Serious Question: Would Iridescent Heads be as bad to face if there Huntress were absolutely limited to a single hatchet? As in the extra hatchet add-ons were explicitly prevented from working with it?

  • Beast of Prey: Reduce the amount of time needed to achieve Bloodlust. If Bloodlust is ever removed, make the perks one of the ways to get it or put the Undetectable status on a set time limit.

Mindbreaker: Make the Exhaustion effect cumulative. In other words, the longer a survivor spends working on a Mindbreaker'd generator, the longer Exhaustion lasts when they get off of it or reach the Exhaustion cutoff point.

  • Possibly Stupid Question: Is there any map where literally 150meters is actually possible without being on extreme ends of the map? And is there anything that makes the Doctor's Terror Radius and/or Shock Therapy that large? I don't think even Sniper Doc has that range.

  • Isn't Stridor with Spirit itself a counter to Survivors using Iron Will?

So I have played Nurse on Xbox for a few weeks now and gone from horrible to really good. Last two days I get lot's of 4k, but still have some games where I struggle a bit. Just played a game at Lerys and took out all of the survivors, and got a message after that I'm "DEFO using mouse and keyboard somehow cuz controller literally can't pull that **** off"

Seriously Nurse is seen as the best killer in the game, and Lerys is a probably a really good map for her. Is it so hard to accept that you can lose a game to Nurse on console? I don't even play games on PC so if I did have mouse and keyboard, I would play really bad believe me.

Incidentally, I haven't played console Nurse since the last patch, has the controller sensitivity been helpful to her at all?

  • Honestly, best way to practice Nurse is to play as Nurse. If you don't want to do it in live games, and are able to do so, it might be worth arranging some Custom Games with others.

  • I had that happen once. I took a small bit of satisfaction that I bled out before EGC could get me.

  • To me it seems the hard part about penalizing camping is creating a penalty that the camper(s) actually care about that doesn't also penalize players who don't do it. How many campy killers actually care about emblem points/rank, for example?

One option, less to punish campers and more to alleviate the blow to the camped survivor: If the killer remains near the hook for too long, then not only does the killer get their emblem penalty, the survivor starts building up Distraction points or something similar. With a bonus added on the longer the killer stays close.

If anything has happened to sensitivity please help me

So I did this new update 3.70 and now my sensitivity seems to be really bad. I can't hardly do anything now and just had one of the worst matches with the huntress you could possibly have. I couldn't hit a single person as the huntress because my aim was all over the place.

Before the update I was playing on 100% on both S & K which to me was really balanced and spot on and now it just seems absolutely rubbish at 100%. I don't know if it's the dead zone or something but just wow I wanted to move say a half foot on the game but because of what they done my characters moved 600 feet instead.

Can someone tell me if I had 100% sensitivity on both S & K before this update, What sensitivity should I be playing on now (3.7) to match before this update.

I was mid game trying to sort it out but just wasn't right. It felt absolutely shocking to play a ranged killer that couldn't hit anything.

Since nobody has specifically said it, for clarity's sake I wanted to note that controller sensitivity was increased in the last update. If I remember correctly it was doubled, which is why do many are saying to knock it down to 50%, as that is what 100% used to be. I've tried a few games at 75% and it's seemed all right to be, not counting a need to get used to it.

when he bing bongs you escape?

The idea I'm getting is try to spot him and escape before he bing bongs. When he's invisible, his movement is given away by a blur in the air. You also hear a whoosh of air when he's close (don't know how close) so you can know to be on the lookout.

1,2 or 3 players said that about deathslinger, which means every player that plays survivor think deathslinger is boring/broken/tryhard?

Nice try of a us vs them thread, 2/10.

To be fair that is 25-75% of one whole Survivor team. (/Not Serious)

After the Ruin nerf, Stakeout pretty much got gutted but now that great skill checks only give a 1%bonus it's completely useless and needs a complete rework along with several other perks.

Serious Question: How exactly was it gutted? Great Skill Checks in general were dropped from 2% to 1%, and Stake Out puts that extra percent right back. It seems like it does exactly the same thing it did before, just with an added effect to keep it that way.

Plus, as noted, it sounds like you get the extra percent for any Great Skill Check? If correct, I find that good to know because I'd assumed the extra percent only went towards Greats scored with tokens.

Also, is 1% either way really that big a difference? Seems negligible on paper.
