Yes survivors are meant to spawn together or at least two groups of two quite decently close. Still there is issue with it and sometimes it does not clearly work and same with using offerings that should effect it also not working time to time.
The most frustrating thing about this is the complete silence from BHVR about it. Seems like they have taken this approach with a lot of things that are broken in the game. Just ignore it because plenty of people are playing the game anyway. Would be very nice to at least get an acknowledgment that it’s broken and if they intend to ever fix it. Some matches are extremely discouraging when you see two survivors spawn on separate gens immediately and you know you’re probably going to lose at least one of them before your first chase is even done. If you have a coordinated survivor team, those matches are almost impossible to win no matter what killer you are using.
-
Map offerings were a poison to this game and I’m glad they are effectively gone. Looks like most others agree.
-
Legion has counterplay too - that’s not the main issue. The main issue is free hits, very quick and easy to injure survivors constantly all match and it turns into a super boring mend simulator even if the players are good and know the proper ways to counter. It’s the super boring and lame design of these killers that is the problem, not their being too strong in winning games.

Yea killer is so weak survivors have instant queues on every server
This proves nothing. Survivor queues are instant most times of the day except for peak evening hours when people get on to play with friends. During the off-peak hours, it’s a lot more solo players and many of them prefer to play killer. It has always been that way.

That's wrong but even if you were right that would sound fair to me. Average of 2 kills is pretty balanced. But unfortunately the current balance is closer to 3k will makes survivor insufferable. Have you ever watched a good killer main? They never lose. I don't think that is balanced
The key flaw in your way of thinking is that the game has to be balanced around the top players in the game. You are probably never going against these top killer players. As I explained already, the average win rate (not kill rate) for killers is slightly below 50%. That’s pretty balanced to me. Your demanding of nerfs for all killers because there are a few really good players who win most of the time makes no sense because it would simply reduce the win rate for all killer players, even the average and bad ones, making the killer side more miserable. I don’t know you so I can’t say this for certain, but it seems like you probably don’t play the killer side. The devs have to balance the experience of both sides as (obviously) helping one side hurts the other side and vice versa. As someone who plays both sides about 50/50 the overall balance , the current balance feels about right. I have some miserable matches on both sides, but my average kill and escape rates are pretty close to the target averages and overall I’m satisfied with the balance.

@mecca said:
So, a killer is supposed to win 100% of the time? We're almost there like it is.
Who said that killers are supposed to win 100% of their games? And how are we “almost there like it is”? Average kill rate is 60%. If you do the math to work out the probabilities of a match ending with exactly 3 kills or 4 kills, it’s actually slightly below 50%. So, despite your insistence that killers win most of their matches, it simply isn’t true.
-
I’ve seen that happen as well, but it’s extremely rare in my experience.

Yes, and it has been broken for like 8 months, and i had a thread on it with one of the devs that just decided to stop responding, and it has been reported multiple times and nothing is being done. Hell even Scott Jund made a video on it.
It would be nice if the someone from BHVR could at least 1) acknowledge that it’s broken, and 2) explain why they can’t/wont fix it. It’s frustrating that it’s broken because I’ve seen survivors spawn separately on different gens and it makes a huge difference in the outcome of the match.
-
@ChucksterMainin said:
I actually prefer this spawn logic. like why would i want survivor to all split up on different gens? I just dont get this mindset.
I agree - that’s why I’m asking this question :)

Kindred should really be basekit (without the killer aura part) at this point. It would make SoloQ players better at coordinating.
A lot of people don't know how to read the HUD and take action. Its not uncommon to see two survivor doing gens while one survivor is being chase and the other one is hooked. Even then, survivor don't seem to understand when the killer intercepts the save and stop it, now the situation requiring 2 survivors to do a "safe save". Kindred would really help in all of those scenarios
I run Kindred in 100% of my solo queue matches and half the time I still have two people coming for the save or nobody going for the save even while the killer is chasing someone. Unfortunately basekit Kindred can’t fix terrible teammates.

Ghoul needs the Skull Merchant treatment. Nerf to oblivion and leave him in the trash bin.

Like they are cool killers but they just dont feel fun to play against. the spirit feels almost impossible to tell where she is . So when she chases you . You have to guess and it he nice if we had a why to guess where she is when we can't see her cause trying to hair isnt fun for ppl with slight hearing problems. The ghoul feels impossible to escape from a chase most of the time
Look it chould be a skill issue but they feel quite unfair to go against
You’re completely right about Ghoul. Hands down the most miserable/unfun killer to go against. Spirit is much more manageable. It’s a lot of guessing, mind games and 50/50 play with Spirit, which makes it fun to go against her IMO. If you’re struggling against her, watch some YouTube videos with good tips for how to play against her. Don’t even bother with Ghoul though. It’s just brainless free hits, mend simulator, and zipping across the map to immediately tunnel whoever just got unhooked.
-
It’s not a problem with overall game balance. It’s a problem with the devs refusing to buff weak killers (like Sadako) to make them more viable. They also need to nerf a few of the S-tier killers. There’s a lot that can be done to get the killers closer together in relative strength. All it would take is some minor adjustment to numbers for powers/add-ons. This is a very minimal amount of work so there’s really no excuse for killers going years without any adjustments other than “it doesn’t generate more revenue”.
-
Bad teammates are a far bigger problem than any supposed killer vs survivor balance issues.
-
The opinion that always gets me abundant downvotes is that slugging is only problematic because survivors don’t counter it properly. Nobody likes hearing that maybe it’s an issue of the team’s skill level rather than a balance issue. I still stand behind my opinion because anyone can try a slugging strategy against good survivors and find out very quickly that it doesn’t work very well.
-
Stats page has been broken ever since it was released. Little chance it will ever be fixed.
-
This game has been suffering not only from perk bloat but overall content bloat for a long time. Most old content is probably never going to get touched again because BHVR don’t have the resources to work on anything that doesn’t directly bring in new revenue. The amount of content in the game makes it extremely overwhelming for new players and it’s why it takes thousands of hours to get any good at it.
-
The community have been begging for the measure of skill to be changed to something that actually measures skill ever since this insanely terrible “kills/escapes = skill” system was implemented. BHVR have said for a long time now that they are “planning” changes but like so many other things that don’t directly impact their revenue it will probably just be forgotten about. I have given up on BHVR prioritizing anything unless 1) it brings in more revenue or 2) it prevents loss of revenue. From a business perspective I totally get it, but it sucks that these changes that would make the game a much more enjoyable experience for most players are probably never going to happen.
-
When I lose a killer game and all the gens are done if I know I can’t kill any more survivors I’ll just go somewhere away from the gates and tab out of the game or do something on my phone while I wait for the game to end. I really don’t care if the survivors want to amuse themselves at the exit gates for a few minutes. No skin off my back if they want to waste their time.

We can't do balance passes on major releases. We can't do balance passes around events. We can't do balance passes because we're working on major releases.
Only two killers have been touched since November, and one of them just had some numbers tweaked.
Was Diminishing Returns really an eight month effort? That's the entirety of the perk changes for the first seven months of 2026, if not longer?
This problem is only going to get worse. The pile of neglected content is getting bigger and bigger with each chapter. If anyone is hoping for their favorite killer from a previous chapter to get a rework or add-on pass, chances are it’s never going to happen.

Hello guys,I have around 1k+ hours in dbd and most of my hours are solo q survivor,I have hard times communicating, what is my team doing, where are they? etc. What are your opinions?
I would be fine with this as long as killers also get something strong as basekit to compensate. The game is already balanced at 60% kill/40% escape as the devs intended, so giving one side more perks will throw that balance off.
-
It really makes me wonder what BHVR has actually been working on over the past many months. We have a new killer - OK - but literally basically nothing else in the game is changed and this is THE GD 10TH ANNIVERSARY. I wasn’t expecting anything mind-blowing, but to have literally nothing new in the game (other than Jason), no changes to perks, no new maps, no changes to maps, just NOTHING. Like, what have you guys been doing?
-
Kaneki is boring AF, just like Legion. Nobody enjoys going against brainless free hits and mend simulator.
-
The pattern for every killer since probably Pinhead or so has been release in an OP state to sell as many DLCs as possible then nerf into oblivion after a month or two. Dollars to donuts it’ll happen again.
-
The skill-based matchmaking system has never worked.

I almost never see Survivors giving up, neither as Survivor nor as Killer. So MAYBE it is the way you play? If you wait 10 minutes, maybe dont make the game as unfun as possible for the other side, so they are more likely to actually interact with you.
Or you are straight up lying or exaggerating if you say it is happening in every game.
What kind of response is this? You have no idea how OP plays and yet you are blaming them for survivors giving up. The downvotes are definitely deserved.

4 years ago there was no way to get 2k + 10 hooks without tunneling or stacking gen regress perks.
Today i do this everyday, survivors are terrible, they mostly have no skill at all in chase. Killer is easy cause the community is unskilled.MMR was launched in 2021, so 4 years ago MMR existed and was tighter.
Well, you do not know what you are talking about, drop it.Can you show us some video of your killer matches? If you’re going to come here and tell everyone that they’re terrible, at least show us how it’s done so we can all get better.
-
The pallets aren’t the problem for me - most of them are unsafe so you can easily get hits at them. The bigger problem for me is the awful layout. In most places, survivors can prerun and it takes forever to catch up with anyone unless you’re a high mobile killer.
The aesthetics of the map are great, but the layout is horrible for DbD. -
Honestly this is kind of hard to believe. Can you record a few of your matches and post here? At least the people can see what you’re doing wrong and offer some helpful advice.

I think the only info we have is that stats are tracked after September 1st 2020. Anything before that is null and void.
We don’t even know how escapes and kills are counted in the stats tracker. I don’t think anyone from BHVR has ever confirmed how abandons or DC’s affect the stats.
-
It would be nice, but highly doubt that BHVR will post any stats that are actually useful or interesting. Throughout the game’s history, they have made it a point to release as few stats as possible and I don’t see that ever changing. They haven’t even told us how the individual player stats on the stats tracker page are calculated.
-
There is counterplay, as previous commenter detailed, but it is incredibly unfun and boring. Ghoul is a scourge to this game and is even more unfun and boring than Legion to go against, amazingly.
-
I don’t play him as killer, but I have faced him plenty of times as survivor and I agree he needs some buffs. He’s at the bottom of almost every tier list I have ever seen. The only people who think he is overpowered or even his good just simply don’t have a clue how to play against him. All you have to do is pay attention and make sure he doesn’t sneak up on you. If you can get even a little jump on him in chase, he’s usually pretty easy to loop for a long time because he has no chase power. He definitely needs some help to be viable against anything better than brand new players.
-
My all-time average is only 47%, but I must have been really bad in earlier 2v8’s because in the latest one it was 60%.

We should be celebrating instead of badmouthing. It's the last rushmore license and now dbd have the complete set. I'm so hyped. I really want to know what power, music and skins he'll get.
There isn’t a single killer in the game that everybody universally loves. Jason is going to be no different. But I do agree that it’s stupid that people are criticized Jason before we even know what his powers are going to be.
-
Pallet density did get somewhat fixed - it’s not as bad as it used to be. But they definitely did not fix busted setups like this because obviously you just played a match where the pallet setup was busted. They still have more work to do to prevent these setups.

Can i ask you a serious question?
Why do you hate slugging so much, when it is essentially the same as being hooked, if anything you have MORE agency while you are slugged than while you are hooked.
While hooked you:
- Cant do anything to meaningfully progress the game.
- Can't move.
- Must be saved by a teammate
- Will die if left alone for 210 seconds (3 minutes 30 seconds)
While slugged you:
- Cant do anything to meaningfully progress the game.
- CAN move, but very very slowly.
- Must be saved by a teammate
- Will die if left alone for 240 seconds (4 minutes)
It basically seems that, while slugged, you take 30 seconds longer to die, but you can move (even if very slow).
So functionally speaking, both of these actions remove your agency as a player to really do anything. So why is it that you hate being slugged so much more than being hooked? I don't mean this as a "gotcha" or some kind of trick, i just legitimately want to understand your perspective and emotional standpoint that makes being slugged so much worse for you than being hooked.
I wonder the same thing myself. I would much rather be slugged than hooked. Most of the matches I’ve been in where killer tries to slug everyone have been losses for the killer because none of the survivors ever get progressed towards elimination. If every single survivor gets slugged that’s far more of an inability of the survivors last more than 5 seconds in chase and not pick up their downed teammates.
-
Downvote to upvote ratio seems about right. 50% loved it, 50% hated it

The amount of disrespect BHVR has for it's own fanbase is astounding. There is no universe where you say "announcement at 9pm (my time)" and then run a 13 hour stream. ######### ridiculous. Uninstalled. ######### BHVR.
They’ve been able to do basically whatever they want without regard for the opinion of the player base because all that matters is player count. Obviously not very many players are mad enough to stop playing because the player count has remained historically high for quite a while now.
-
@Tnotjerryy said:
Whoever wants UB basekit never played killer and should prob. play smth else.
It’s been very tiresome to hear these calls for busted handholding basekit perks. There has been no fundamental change in game balance for a very long time, yet somehow all of a sudden the game is “unplayable” for some people. Some people just aren’t satisfied unless they are escaping a majority of their matches (at much higher rates than the average 40%) and because they don’t play killer, they don’t care how negatively it affects the killer experience.
-
@mecca said:
I'm so glad BHVR pampered killers and refused to do the right thing and make the game fair for both sides.
What do you suggest for solutions that would not be overly busted for the survivor side like basekit Unbreakable would be?
-
I really don’t feel bad for anyone who is disappointed by this. Like, what did you all expect? We’ve seen so much fumbling and ball-dropping in recent years and you all expect that somehow all of a sudden things are going to turn around?
-
Is this playstyle boring? Yes, is it. Is it effective? In my experience, no, it is not. I would be in favor of adjustments to the game to discourage slugging playstyles just based on the fact that it is super boring and lame. But I fully disagree with anyone who says that this is some sort of overpowered cheap way to win games. Most matches I’ve been in (and I play solo queue) where killers have tried to win this way have been losses for the killer. The only times when it hasn’t was when teammates were lasting 5 seconds in chase or not picking up downed teammates. I keep telling people to go try playing this way as killer for 10-20 matches and then come back here to let us know how it went. They’re probably going to realize very quickly that it’s not an effective way to win matches.
-
”Things nobody should ever believe”
-
Who is complaining about killer queues? Last night I played a few survivor matches and then had to switch to killer because the queues were way shorter. The queue times are the same as they have always been: longer queues for killer during the daytime when there are fewer people playing SWF, and the it flips in the evening when lots of people are playing SWF.
-
You can’t expect anyone else to return your good sportsmanship. Just don’t give hatch from now on and you don’t have to worry about this anymore.
-
Fully agree that map boosting is miserable, but I doubt that it won’t happen again. There’s is no way that BHVR isn’t aware that map boosting is deeply unpopular, but they do it regularly and for long periods of time anyway. And people still play the game anyway.
-
I fully realize this is not a popular opinion, but 1) I rarely ever see killers play this way, and 2) in the rare cases when they do try to play this way, my team (I play solo queue) has usually done a good job of countering it. The only time it works well for the killer is if my teammates are very bad in chase and get downed quickly, and teammates aren’t picking each other up. Both of those things are teammate issues, not killer playstyle issues.
I am certain I’ll get plenty of downvotes because most people don’t want to accept that maybe it’s an issue with how well they themselves or their teammates are playing. For those who disagree, just for fun go try playing this way as killer yourself. Do it for 10-20 matches and come back to let us know how you did. I know that any time I try playing this way it usually doesn’t go well for me because it’s awfully hard to win when you’re not progressing any of the survivors towards elimination. -

"We hear your concern and your issue has been under discussion. We can't share anything with you right now, but we're working on addressing it."
Yeah, it’s just going to be the same old non-answer from BHVR we’ve been getting for years. We get told over and over again that it’s being addressed, people are getting banned, etc, but the cheating problem is bad as ever so they are clearly not actually doing anything effective to mitigate the problem. I don’t think it’s ever going to be a priority for them unless players start leaving the game because of cheating. Based on the player count, that is not happening.
-
This is yet another example where we’ve been told an issue is “fixed” even though it’s not, not even close. We all still keep playing the game though, so I guess there’s no reason for BHVR to do things any differently.
