SoloQ vs SWF

So I think BHVR has done a pretty good job so far at trying to close the gap of SoloQ and SWF. With the Survivor Hud and now with the Visible teammate perks.

I still believe there needs to be a little more adjusting though. So my concept to close the gap is called Shared Aura Reading Perks.

Because a SWF can communicate where they are at all times and where the Killer may be here are my suggestions.

•All Survivors can see the Auras of other Survivors within 8 meters. (A mini Bond)

•Any Auras revealed by you or another Survivor within 8 meters of your location are Shared. Leaving the 8 meter range immediately cancels this effect.

Example 1: You and a Survivor are on a gen together and Survivor A has Alert go off. Now Survivor B can also see the Aura.

Example 2: Survivor A is being healed by Survivor B and their Object of Obsession triggers.

Example 3 Survivor B has Bond. Survivor A is within 8 meters so they see any Survivors revealed by Bond. Survivor C is out of the 32 meters range. Survivor C is within 32 meters of Survivor A though. Because Survivor B cannot see Survivor C, Survivor B can also not see Survivor C.

Survivors do not just get the Aura perks they have to be within range of one another and only see the Auras that the Survivor with the perk equipped sees.

  • Kindred should really be basekit (without the killer aura part) at this point. It would make SoloQ players better at coordinating.

A lot of people don't know how to read the HUD and take action. Its not uncommon to see two survivor doing gens while one survivor is being chase and the other one is hooked. Even then, survivor don't seem to understand when the killer intercepts the save and stop it, now the situation requiring 2 survivors to do a "safe save". Kindred would really help in all of those scenarios

I run Kindred in 100% of my solo queue matches and half the time I still have two people coming for the save or nobody going for the save even while the killer is chasing someone. Unfortunately basekit Kindred can’t fix terrible teammates.

No, it won't. But at least it will allow not horrible teammates to know if anyone is going for the save, so they can heal/do gens, etc.

I've always believed the true strength of SWF isn't comms directly, but more the overall mindset difference plus midigating the randomness of solos.

Very good survs are a problem for a killer whether they're alone or not. But it's when they band together and start behaving like a team much of the "lone wolf" issues disappear. Yes you know if they have Deliverance or Unbreakable or Soul Guard etc. active, but there's more to it than that.

You now know if they're doing a challenge and/or a daily,. You know they will come back for you, and won't let you get to second stage if possible. And over time you learn their weaknesses & tendencies. Hard to get all that with solos, even if they had comms.
