You can still play them, they are not meant to be game changing passives but just a little nudge, something to make each survivor stand out a bit more besides cosmetics. Most of the passives will probably link in to their backstories and be related to their characters.

Well sometimes it's the 1% that makes the difference. And think about players who spent a lot of money for cosmetics on a certain survivor they like.

If you could "unlock" the passives from the characters and switch them between survivors, that would be way better.

  • What if my favorite survivor gets a passive that I don't like or that doesn't fit my playstyle?

Survivor are just skins, and that's fine, even though I like the idea.

  • I will lobby dodge if I see that they are a 4 man SWF and I'm just trying to get my daily done with a killer I'm not good with. I'm not interested in a "learning experience".

Another reason: I remember toxic people. No need to play with or against people who are just pure saltmines.

And my game might just crash if a baby dwight transforms last second into a P3 claudette with clicky clicky.

  • Fake. I don't see Jeff.. i mean Jesus.

  • Tunnel the fresh unhooked survivor and hope they want to locker-ds you. (Not recommended)

Or throw a BPS and show the survivors that you want to farm. Might not work every game. But this is the easiest route.

  • Simple, as long as there is no "Avoid-Player-Option" I put toxic people on my ignorelist. If one of them is in the lobby I'll dodge or bring a mori. I'll usually dodge, because those people are not worth my time.

I'm talking about those toxic survivors, that will do everything ingame to get under your skin or insult you during endgamechat or who will wish you cancer, not the ones who are good at flashlightsaves or looping.

  • My 2 ideas :

Totem counter for small game or a map wide audio cue is played for both sides once all totems are cleansed.

u forgot about keys man, thats like one of the most discussed/hated thing :D

I thought this is another killer cry thread, you got me on the first half ngl. Just do gens while he facecamps and/or run kindred as solo player. Kindred is seriously the best solo perk you can run, gives you instant info if he camps and what the other team mates are doing.

I think DbD is currently at the most balanced state for solo / max duo swf group against a killer.

Please watch this video to realize what survivors had back then, basicly immortality with REAL infinites, endless pallets, slow killer animations, blinding killers while they hook, insta gens, insta heals etc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1fkX3H84SE

Added it. Sorry that I ignored the elephant in the room!

  • If killers got everything they want, the following stuff wouldn't be existing anymore:

    • Borrowed Time
    • SWF
    • D-Strike
    • Haddonfield
    • Teabagging
    • Hatch
    • Edit: Keys

Feel free to correct me if there is something missing!

But here is the most important part:

Killers will not change a strategy, as long as it works. So stop rewarding facecampers by getting overaltruistic. Do gens and leave.

How are you killing your self on first hook and being hook farmed at the same time?!?

    I wrote OR not AND.

  • Once there is an avoid-player-option or a SWF Indicator, I'm fine with hiding lobby names.

  • Nope there are totally legit reasons. If my team is hook farming me or I get chased for 3 minutes and 0 gens are done, I will straight nope out of the game.

  • She can't be looped, that's why she has immense power if you use it right.

But it's just sad that you nearly always have to play against 6 survivors (4 + dedicated servers + bugs).

  • Isn't stuff like that already implemented in some games for China?

    @Boss

Do you have some more Information about why they do it?

Btw I First thought before reading it was about how they made a Sequel which was a total failure and then went back to their first game.

  • 99 Gates. I don't like it from both sides.

  • It's the combination with ebony mori that makes Iri hatchets really powerful. Otherwise I think it should stay as it is. But I wouldn't mind some tweaks.

  • Damn that was a good survey.

    Good luck further :)

Greetings from the northeastern Part or germany :D

  • I use leader pretty often. Especially at exit Gates those 25% can come in pretty handy.

  • Beating easy opponents shouldn't be rewarded with a double pip.

Let's just hope the new matchmakingsystem will sort this problem.

It makes me feel like you consider a survivor toxic if they play the game with his monitor on.

Iridescent Head is an addon that basically no one enjoys going against; usually it's used by huntresses who just want to be ######### for no reason, or by bad huntresses that rely on the addon to get easy kills.

They all 4 escaped against a Iri Huntress. They won, and are still insulting the killer. OP even 2 hooked everyone, so I guess it wasn't the Iri+Ebony Combination.

And toxic people will be toxic. If a survivor insults the killer for using X or Y and he still escapes.. that's a lost case.

  • Don't feel bad for it. They would have been toxic even if you didn't use iri head.

  • Tried to bodyblock. Didn't realize I was the Obsession and that Freddy had Rancor..

Another Honorable mention: Fat shaming spots.

  • Sometimes you just need a big portion of luck.

Even though I don't like playing against 4man swf while doing Adept achievements, they can be the biggest help if they are overaltruistic. That's how I got Deathslinger on 2nd try.

Pick a Map which is good for your killer. Use good addons.

  • Hatch Camper verdienen nichts anderes ;) (Eventuell hatte er aber die Challenge aus dem Archiv, was jetzt aber keine Rechtfertigung sein soll)

    Du hast nichts falsch gemacht.

  • While camping is a boring strategy, it's sometimes needed. Like in your match, they rewarded you for playing that way and if they stayed near the hook you had 0 reason to leave.

    For your questions:

The biggest reason for salt in this game is the "Us vs them" mentality and that there is some kind of "rulebook" where certain playstyles and perk combinations are a big no no because the other side will cry about it.

    And some stories:

Played deathslinger with mori daily. Round went pretty bad, so I moried the first one who got off the hook. But he was a good runner and juker. So basically the game was over, the time he felt the spear from behind. Got a hook during endgame, the other 2 survivors were hook swarming. I got a 4k out of it, but I clearly deserved to lose this game, if those 2 didn't decide to run to the hook. Endgamechat was filled with a lot of salt, and my ignore list just got bigger again.

Next is a game as Huntress. The survivors were absolutely bad, so I ended the game quickly. One of them called me stupid because I didn't get much points. I was bored so I didn't have any interest in prolonging the game.

4man SWF with obvious D-Strikes gave me salt for slugging. "It's just a perk". My answer was "It's just a tactic." One of them told me, I had no friends. :(

"You only downed me because of your power." Yeah, should I play a M1-Game like you on gens?

  • It's not Noed. It's overaltruism.

  • I played it today after a 3 week break.

    Lost nearly every survivor game.

Lost every Mastermind Game.(after waiting 10 minutes for a lobby)

Clearly fun experience, if you haven't unlocked the useful stuff.

The game itself is fine, but suffers from non existant matchmaking and horrible balancing issues.

  • A streamer told me that nurse was a no skill Killer because she ignored looping. I'm still mad.

Bugs and dedicated Servers are her biggest problems atm.

  • I have nothing against it, even though I can see how it can be abused.

But it would be fine to not get matched again with toxic players.

  • Ever heard of map offerings?

  • I maintain it mostly by just playing.

The most important is, to utilize every mistake the survivors make. It's sometimes so unbelievable that survivors will throw the whole match, by just trying to save 1 guy. Overaltruism is one of my biggest friends as killer.

And don't feel ashamed for playing dirty. If you, for example, need to keep survivors slugged for multiple times so you can get back into the match, well just do it.

  • I enjoy it. My goal is to get everyone to P3. So playing killer will always give you more points.

Survivor solo queue made me into a Killer Main. If it's not the bugs, it's usually my fault if I lose. Bonuspoints if I use a Killer who I don't play often for a daily.

But there are rounds I don't enjoy, especially if I lose really hard. But they rarely happen. Other games where I deserve to lose, but still get a 4k because survivors get overaltruistic and insult me for taking advantage of it are on the same level.

Protip for more enjoyment: Disable profile comments, close endgamechat and stop caring about the imaginary ruleset <3 As long as you are not toxic or exploiting, you are fine.

  • More: Nurse. Because the game feels different and i have don't have to run in circles and press Space at the right moment.

Plague. She is just underrated. I love playing as her and I would like to see how others play her.

Less: Hag & Trapper. Because i get paranoid with the traps.

  • Lets see, what we already have:

    • Chinese survivor
    • Killer inspired by a chinese doctor
    • Chinese themed cosmetics
    • chinese themed event

That's enough for now. There a still a lot of nations/cultures which have 0 things ingame.

(Still hoping for a medieval killer/survivor from middle europe.)

  • @Respectfulnancymain said:

I just had a killer claim he will report and block me cause i sent him "ggs that was a fun game, you got unlucky as trapper on hawkins."

So im curious do people find it annoying when you send them a gg after they've lost?

"I won, you lost. Good Game!"

I had a round where the killer absolutely destroyed us. Instead of a "gg", he sent us a "gl next", which felt way better.

  • Killer.

As survivor, i have to rely on my teammates for certain challenges, which can be pretty hard if you're not SWF.

  • The shirtless stuff isn't funny.

Onesided games are not a "gg".

If you are red ranks because of swf, you aren't that good.

    Old ruin was overrated.

    Noed is still overrated.

So in other words, if someone is using the typical Blendette cosmetics (P3 skin or dark clothing) you expect them to be useless, but you're also open to being proven wrong once the match starts?

It's a bit like in reallife. If I see someone with long hair and a long beard, I assume they like metal.

And yes, it's an expectation, but I will give the benefit of the doubt. But I should reword it maybe. It's more of an assumption, then an expectation, or something in between these two. Can't explain it better :D

  • @Fibijean said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1266210#Comment_1266210

Sorry, going through the responses for my project and I have another question - how do you define a Blendette? Is it just by their cosmetics, or do you wait to see how they behave in the match?

    No problem! :)

Cosmetic wise. If they behave like expected.. well prejudice confirmed. If not. Fine.

(I associate a certain toxic streamer with Blendette. So there is another point for my bias)

I have a friend who plays a blendette. She's really good at hiding, but is also doing gens. So basically the example of a useful blendette. I still raise my eyebrow sometimes, but I know I can trust her ingame.

  • If you played RPG's you know the problem.

"I'll save it for later... just in case."

  • Floating pallets. It was funny to see the stuff flying to the moon.

    Jokes aside:

Nurse basekit nerf. I have adapted to the change. But my muscle memory sometimes make me blink 0.1 seconds before I get my 2nd blink back.

  • "I got outplayed. Better dc."

"I find this annoying. I don't want to play anymore."

    Happens on both sides.

But tbh I had rounds where I played bad and my internet just had the typical 24h dc.

  • Had mine since mid 2000.

Played a lot of Unreal Tournament. There was a character named Xan.

I just added the "z" because my edgy teen self thought, it adds more individuality.

  • Mapwise: Haddonfield.

    Survivor: Overaltruism.

Killer: Nice Swing. Would be a shame if you hit the wall/tree next to the survivor.

  • For Survivors:

    • Buff a lot of the bad perks to change the meta instead of nerfing all the meta perks (some perks still need adjusting, though)
    • Example: Small Game has a Totem Counter
    • Kindred is now basekit
    • DS gets deactivated if you work on a gen.
    • Once all totems are done, a mapwide sound is played for both survivors and killers
    • Playing solo gives +25% BP at the end of the trial
    • Perks of survivor are now visible for others survivors in the lobby

    For Killers:

    • Nurse basekit change reverted + another addon rework
    • Clown is now somehow better
    • Irihead for Huntress reworked: Gain 1 Hatchet back every 20 Seconds
    • Trapper brown bag addon is now basekit
    • SWF-Indicator during lobby or at the end of the game (I prefer the first, because on PC the information is already available if you check profiles)
    • BP Bonus if Killer faces a SWF (Duos: Nothing, Trio: 10%, Squad: 25%)
    • Maskless Options for most Killers! Unlocked after a certain amount of sacrifices.

    In General:

    • Added an "Avoid Player" Option. You can now put up to 10 Profiles into this list. You will not be matched with them again.
    • 15 Seconds before the match starts, survivors cannot change their loadout (to prevent last second switching)
    • Added 3 loadout slots for every survivor and killer.
    • Prevented the pig from getting nerfed again somehow.
    • New matchmakingsystem and rewards!
    • New tutorials!
    • KYF has now a lot more custom options. Want to play 2vs6? Go for it.
    • Dailys now give 50 Iri-Shards and 1 Rift fragment.
    • Added weeklys. Contains a set number of tasks from killer and survivor. Completing them gives a huge amount of BP, some shards and 25 Auric Cells.
    • Improved Bloody Cosmetics.
    • Prestiging a character lets you start with a teachable unlocked at level 3. On P3 all your teachables are already Level 3.
    • Tried to fix the community but the day was already over.

What power did you have? If it was deathslinger I might understand... but he needs his power like Nurse needs hers.

Was Freddy. He left a loop and ran straight to the shack window where I had set a snare at the beginning of the round. So if I had played trapper, the outcome would have been the same.

Blaming a Killer for using his Power is still beyond my understanding.

  • Here are some of my best storys:

4 man swf blamed me for slugging while they all had (It was obvious) DS.

Another swf flamed me for camping during EGC while they were hookswarming. I killed them all :) I tried to have a civil discussion with them, but they weren't interested in it.

One survivor insulted me for ending a round quickly. Yeah sure buddy, your whole team played bad. I didn't enjoy the steamroll either, but I was not interested in extending a boring round.

Oh and I remembered this gem "You only got me because you used your power." Uh.. okay?

Once people figure out, where I'm from, the salt usually gets really spicy.

  • Rescue 3 survivors as X.

Michael and Trapper because I usually need more then 1 game for them.

  • As another Nurse main i say: She needs a hotfix asap.

She is literally unplayable on maps with big buildings where you can't blink in or out.
