  • Doesn't work against last second switcher.

    But yes, 3 Medkits-> Plaguetime.

  • Hitting level 20 soon.

Basically what you said, do a match for both sides every day (+300 is the first match bonus for each side, so +600 free exp, even if the match is short.)

If you play solo and it's possible, tell your team that you are doing a challenge.

It's fine if you can't complete a challenge in one round.

Take items/perks with you, that will help you with the challenge. Unhook challenge? Borrowed time. Totem challenge? Small Game, Detectives Hunch or a Map with the addon that reveals the killer belonging.

Basement Challenge? Agitation+Iron Grasp, or/and a strong map offering.

I'll admit I've never quite understood the Meghead thing. What kind of behaviour do you expect to see from them (or in this case, from Nancy players)?

They will make a move, that is so dumb (or basic mistakes) that it will either cost the game or they get away with it and the game goes on. But mostly it's the first case.

My last experience with 2 Nancys was: My friend died 1 hook, I got slugged for 4 minutes and leatherface camped me, because one of the Nancys failed a skillcheck at the beginning of the game. They both did 1 gen the whole time and died shortly after my bleedouttimer went to 0. That was the final straw for my nancy bias.

  • They want to entertain their audience, so if I up the difficulty I'm only helping them :)

  • Let's start with the classic camping Leatherface.

The following killers with P3 makes me think they are good: Trapper, Bingbong, Billy, Nurse. Basically the "classic" ones.

Ghostfaces are either tryhards or absolute memelords.

Players using legacy outfits usually gain some respect from me and I expect them to be good at the game.

    Blendettes are useless.

Nancys are the "megheads" for me.

Survivors with bright outfits are usually the toxic ones and will dc if you outplay them. Bonuspoints if they stay for the rest of the game to yell at you in the endgamechat.

    Jeffs are not toxic.

  • Last patch was a big step in the right direction.

But the list of QoL improvements is still long.

  • The game is clearly telling you to become a farmer or to use your map offerings :D

But yes, screw you farm maps. Especially as Nurse.

RNG blessed me with a lot of MacMillan atm. I had 2 rounds on the same map and nearly identical tiles. I mean, it's not haddonfield or coldwind, so I can't complain.

  • Most killers adapt to D-Strike by slugging.

Why can't survivors adapt to the increased use of Noed? There are perks and items for it.

I use Inner Strenght as survivor, so i force and reward myself at the same time by looking for totems.

And if you keep attention during the game, you know which perks the killer is using. If you count 4 perks before the last gen is done, congrats, you can now stop looking for totems.

  • I use 1 or 2 charms on each character. For Killers i mostly use basic charms. The glowing stuff like the lamp from the last archive irritates me if i play Killer.

  • Just tunnel them or dc during loading screen so they have to wait 10 Minutes again for another game.

I remember some Games where these kind of survivors complained about the special attention they got from me. Well, you asked for it. :)

  • I still hate corn maps as Nurse.

Otherwise the update is fine. I even started to play more survivor again :)

    1. Play both sides.
    2. Don't be toxic.
    3. Don't complain if you are toxic and someone will sandbag/facecamp you for it.
    4. Accept that you can't win every game.
    5. Learn that sometimes it's your own fault. Don't blame the other side for your mistakes.
    6. Close endgamechat and set your profile to private to prevent hatemails.
    7. Be useful as survivor.
    8. It's okay to let teammates die under certain circumstances.

    The most important: Have fun.

  • Did he have bamboozle? The entity blocker seems bugged atm.

  • Red ranks both sides here. But I play more killer.

I'm still getting used to the changes. I cancelled a chase in Groaning Storehouse because I forgot that they changed the god loop.

You feel the nerf to the gen speed if there are 2+ people on it but that was needed. But I use Prove Thyself on my Dwight, so I can ignore that if I play him.

Overall I'm fine with the changes.

  • @Kate_Main_01 said:

Rank 3 Survivor. Rank 5 Killer. I've been playing off-and-on for two years, several times a week for the last eight months.

My suggested mechanism: Hook timers do not deplete if the Killer is within a limited proximity to the hook. If it is second hook then the struggle animation does not activate until the Killer leaves the radius. If the Killer returns then the need to mash/mouse scroll/etc vanishes and the Survivor is suspended until the Killer leaves again.

I agree with most of what the previous comment said. Punishing the Killers would only lead to problems as already the Killer community feels victimized regardless of what changes are made in their favor (or how the statistics show that Survivors escape less than half of every game played). The solution would have to be nuanced and even then it would be reacted to in a total outrage... Which is why it will never, ever happen.

That said, I think that some sort of change to the hook that forced Killers to back up just a little bit in order to have the timer end would be fair method. I am not talking out of eye distance or like 20 yards away or anything. More just a little bit of a buffer.

I have some problems with that idea.

    1. I hook survivor A in the basement shack. I spot Survivor B and instead of luring me away, he decides to play the shack loop. I shouldn't get punished for commiting to that chase. Stuff like that was already tested with a paused hook timer.. survivors abused the hell out of it.
    2. Once all gens are done, you can't expect the killer to leave the hook, especially if it's near an exit gate.
    3. As long as you can pip while dying as survivor or depip as killer even with a 3k, killrates aren't a good indicator for balance.

I think No Mother could use some pretty big buffs more so than hook timer

But what would you add to it? At the moment it's a high risk, low reward perk. It needs to be a high risk, high reward perk.

I wouldn't make the comparison directly to actual US Politics (because I rather not talk about politics in a Gaming Forum).

    But the polarization is there.

Both sides cannot understand or is unwilling to understand each other, and the ones in the middle tends to get run over.

Yeah, we are here because we want to discuss about a game we like, but the comparison was just to good to let it go unnoticed :D

Oi! I do not like being considered a Trump follower. ..Even though it makes sense; a giant, ugly man-thing slowly devouring people's life forces while his brainless helpers do all they can to give him power, not realizing it would kill them if it had to..

    ..Damnit.

    We've been bamboozled!

  • Entity + Killers = Trump and his followers

Survivors = Democrats, who will ######### at each other, instead of focussing on the other side?

    Damn.

  • I like it, when the endgamechat starts speaking adidas track suit. I had russian in school, so I can read it and to a certain degree understand what they are saying.

From my personal experience, russians are either absolute beasts or just bad. There is little space between these two ends. But again, just my experience. I may be biased because of my Dota 2 experience.

But they don't need a region lock.

  • Deactivating profile comments and closing the chat is the best thing you can do. Or just report them (if there are heavy insults) and move on. But after a while you get tired of reporting stuff like that. And I don't want to clean my comment section every evening.

Toxicity is praised in a part of this community. Ignoring it is a good way, because you can't fix ######### personalitys over the internet and you don't have to. Or just take it back at them. Not by being toxic to them, just dominate them ingame, the next time you see them.

I had some toxic survivors who dc'ed the moment they realized I started to play serious. It's a great feeling.

But stop letting those comments get under your skin. It's hard to learn, especially if you are not used to it. But you will always have these kind of people, even in real life.

I don’t see a problem in waiting in that scenario but would disagree that DS needs to be changed if that’s your goal. I’d probably eat the DS in that scenario because it also removes a health state from Surv A and down them again if they unhook in that stun time. That’s a lot of punishment imo and not unfair towards either side.

I’d actually consider that a mistake for Survivor A.

    That's a perspective I haven't considered, so thanks for that. :)

I just want the abuse potential to be fixed somehow, as i said, the perk for it's intended purpose is fine.

You are a reasonable person, i see that immediately, but in my opinion you are generalizing (yes, something like this happened to me too) about a (very) unlucky situation.

    Uhh..thanks? :D

Well, I usually eat a DS maybe 1/20 games. But it's mostly these kind of scenarios I described above. I know there are other killers who will hard tunnel, not because you are toxic or use OoO, but because they can. That's why this perk is needed.

  • The following scenario happened to me some time ago:

I hook Survivor A. I travel to the other side of the map, have a chase with Survivor B.

C & D are minding their business and one of them unhooks Survivor A, just before he enters the next hook stage. He gets healed up. During that time I down Survivor B and hook him.

Survivor A, runs straight for the unhook and jumps into a locker the moment I see him, next to the hooked one. If I grab him, I get ds'ed and he gets a free unhook. If I wait, I'll get insulted for being a camper.

I waited because it's free pressure. Feel free to explain why am I tunneling in this scenario. ("Just look for another one" is not a valid argument if he is coming straight at me)

If you can't find a reason. Congrats, now you may begin to realize why DS has abuse potential. And that's what needs to be fixed. The perk as itself is fine, because it can be countered by slugging.

  • Just some quick ideas:

No Mither: Added 5/10/15 Seconds to each hook stage.

    Diversion: Faster charge rate.

Distortion: A way to get back tokens, still limited to a maximum of 3 tokens.

Solidarity: Works now with a medkit.

Poised: Added aura hiding after completing a gen.

Buckle Up: Added speedbonus for healing survivors who are in the dying state. (Shouldnt' be to much, though)

Lucky Break: Now only lasts for 10/20/30 seconds, but you can recharge the perk by staying healthy.

Beast of Prey: Gain bloodlust faster.

    Cruel Limits: Longer duration.

Mindbreaker: Removed the 50% generator requirement or longer exhaustion.

    Zanshin Tactics: Shortened cooldown.

I know there are more bad perks, but I don't have an idea for them :/

  • Great post!

My biggest problem is that some things in this game are lowrisk and high reward. That's the stuff, that needs to be fixed.

And what I think is, that we don't only have the survivor and killer side, but there is also a "Casual vs competitive" mentality. If casuals play with and against competitive players, it will create another "Us vs them" mentality.

It's fine to use the tools which are given to you, just don't be a toxic dipshit and additionally don't expect that the other side will not fight back.

And many stuff what is considered OP is just OP, because people refuse to adapt. A while ago someone told me that nurse is a skillless killer. This just baffles me, how some people are losing their #########, because they have to step out of their comfort zone and play different.

If I have bad rounds, I try to analyze it, while getting my focus back and ask myself, what could I have done better? Where did I make a boo boo which cost me the game? Would I have done the same thing If I would be on the other side? (The answer is most of the time yes)

  • The Problem with Bubba was your idea of helping the random. You and your Team doomed yourself. I agree it's a boring tactic. But you rewarded the Killer for playing like this.

It's totally fine to let a teammate die if you can use the space they created for you.

    Ontopic:

    No.

Edit: Added Doctor to the list.

  • Just give us an Avoid Player Option. Limit it to a specific number to prevent abuse and we are gucci.

And just food for thought: Some killers don't like ttv in the lobbys. They don't want to be a toy for the streamer and getting mocked by the chat.

  • I just throw in some of the stuff I watched years ago:

Higurashi (psychothriller with a lot of mindfuck, still my favorite)

Umineko (Magic Vs Logic, sadly just one season, but the manga is great, same creator as higurashi)

The World God only Knows (Dude who prefers 2D-Girls, has to date real girls to "heal" them)

    Another (Horror Stuff, pretty cool)

Terror in Tokyo (Can't describe it much, but very interesting)

Steins;Gate (If you like time travel, but be aware, that it takes around 10 episodes before the action kicks in)

Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru (School slice of life comedy with some drama. 2nd Season was one of the best stuff I have seen. While season 1 is more comedy, season 2 focusses more on the drama, but still fun)

Gosick (detective stuff, but very entertaining)

    Shiki (Vampire stuff, pretty creepy)

    Girls & Panzer (it's a guilty pleasure.. don't blame me. )

Sankarea (Boy resurrects his cat and later a girl, now she is a zombie, can't spoil more)

And here is my secret recommendation:

Denpa-teki na Kanojo (Just an 90 Minute OVA, but that anime stuck with me somehow)

  • I didn't encounter any of these (until now, need to play more rounds), but after blinking some attacks didn't connect when they should have. And no, it wasn't dead hard. I just hit the wall next to the surv, instead of the surv standing before me (she was cornered).

Sie arbeiten aber momentan eh an einem neuen Matchmakingsystem. Es gibt auch ne Zusammenfassung auf Englisch, die hier nachgelesen werden kann. Gegen Ende des Beitrages wird drauf eingegangen.

  • My list for "tunneling":

    • Toxic
    • OoO
    • All Gens are done
    • DS abuse

But most of the time I get accused of tunneling is when survivors just played bad. You are not entitled to a free heal, just because you got recently unhooked and i spotted you with Nurses Calling.

  • Hatch staring contest. I don't miss you old times.

  • I will accuse the killer of tunneling. /s

I will down you again, and go for the other.

If it happens to me as a survivor, well the next time you are coming for a rescue with the killer in your backpack, my spacebar suddenly stops working, just one second before you unhook me.

  • I know that feeling OP.

Some survivors will just throw themselfes at you and call it tunneling. If they make a mistake (like selfcaring under the hook where they just got rescued), it's tunneling again. I mean, it's better to blame others, instead of looking at the situation as a whole and learn from it.

Or they use OoO and accuse me of tunneling. Yeah buddy, you have a big X on you. If I can't find another target, why should I ignore you?

Same goes for some killers who call an efficient survivorteam (be it swf or not) genrusher or running tiles optimal toxic.

  • I use him rarely but I mostly forget to use his teleport ability.

Forever Freddy is boring and I only like the fake pallets ability on indoor maps.

He's a strong killer and needs some adjustments on his kit. But I don't know what. Maybe something for survivors to wake up faster. As long as you are awake he is just a basic M1 Killer.

  • Maybe a hex totem should give 2 stacks? Otherwise it should stay as it is now.

Is it weird that I'm bad at Stardew Valley? My farming skills are extremely subpar. 😂

No problem with that. i mean you can do whatever you want in Stardew Valley and people don't get mad at you because you didn't do a pretty good job so far :D

  • I play Nurse after a bad round.

Or I play another game where I don't get stressed, like Stardew Valley.

  • Nothing much has changed for me since the update. i still get kills and stay at red ranks. The times I lose are when I face competent survivors, make crucial mistakes (committing to long to a chase etc.) or if I play a killer out of my comfort zone.

  • D-Strike. So many people say they need it but I'll do fine without relying on it.

Dead Hard. I changed it to Head On or Lithe.

Noed. I don't like Totem perks in general but since it's a hot topic here in these Forums, i mention it.

  • As Killer:

I will ease up, if there is no DS ingame.

If you make a mistake, I will punish it.

One Dc, one suicide on hook? Alright, let's farm.

You give up as last survivor? Depending on how you played, I may let you go.

You ran into an deadend? Lets have a short staring contest and nod at each other before I smack you down.

    If I play Survivor:

I don't expect anything from the killer.

Just don't facecamp or hit me while I'm hooked.

If you see we are just 4 solos, please don't use ebony and your best addons. Soloqueue is already bad enough.

    Both sides:

If someone gets stuck because of a bug, and the other sides help to get rid of it.. well farming time it is.

  • If those toxic survivors wants your attention and you feel confident enough, tunnel them. Some survivors will straight dc if they get outplayed or see, that they can't bully you. Otherwise just ignore them, even if they follow you. One survivor less who is doing gens.

But as @Yamaoka stated, stuff like that isn't a reason to report and you have to keep cool. Getting under your skin is what they want to achieve. If you give in and get tilted, you will make more mistakes which will cost you the game.

And if they mock you in the endgamechat, either close it or report them if there are insults.

Yes I get your point and I'm pretty sure that is the exact reason for it being like it is. Efficient players DO get punished but only in bloodpoints. Their "reward" is not having to face better players. I'm sure this is quite appealing to some players!

An example is Hillbilliys that 1 hook everyone almost every game and don't pip. They just get to destroy in green ranks game after game and only slowly rank up. Give them a double-pip instead of a black pip for winning quickly and they would soon get to a point where they play against survivors that can counter Billys.

Trapper and Plague are getting punished for using their power, too. And Legion on the other hand just gets free emblem points by stabbing around.

But finding that sweet spot for a good ranking system is hard. Using Kills as a Pip requirement was already used and wasn't the best idea. Now it's forced interaction to a certain point. Taking the rank of the opponent into the formula would be a neat idea, but they already announced a MMR system, so i hope this will help in creating better matches.

  • @JawsIsTheNextKiller said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1254190#Comment_1254190

Both scenarios should reward the players with a double-pip. If players want to drag the game out then it is more bloodpoints for all but it would be nice for players who are clearly outclassing their opponent to quickly rank up.

Look at it from the other side. You shouldn't be rewarded for beating an easy opponent.

  • Entity displeased.

But it's really interesting to see how often survivors will throw the whole game just to save 1 guy.

  • I rarely get tunneled, so I don't use it. If I get tunneled it's mostly because someone unhooked me while the killer was around.

And having a perk for punishing the killer for bad teammates is not a perk I want to use.

  • For survivors:

Teabagging, clicky clicky, loud notification spam at open exit gate and my favorite last second switching.

    For Killers:

Facecamping, constantly hitting on hook. Leaving everyone to die after all are slugged.

    For both:

    Endgamechat insults, deaththreats etc.
