Everyone here is definitely under rating Lightborn. It's a niche perk that still honestly doesn't deserve to be taken over other perks, but if you see a lobby with 4 flashlight Claudettes, it seems like a no brainer pick.

I don't think much of anyone will ask for a Lightborn nerf but I personally think it would be interesting if they buffed the Odd Bulb add on to be the only add on that worked against Lightborn (not as if they didn't have Lightborn- just as if they had old Lightborn). It's a crappy add on that doesn't deserve the iridescent status it currently has LMAO

Pretty good point about the Odd Bulb, what kind of iridescent addon makes your item worse?

    Extremely toxic? Yes.

    Bullies? Yes.

    Smurfs? Yes.

    Unfair to you? Yes.

    Hostage? No.

Hostage is a very specific thing in this game. It means that the game literally cannot end EVEN IF the other players go AFK. If one of them purposely glitched into a spot you couldn't reach THAT is a hostage situation. You have literally nothing you could do to end the game, even if you were Otz.

This is not an opinion it is a FACT.

Also no this would not be a hostage situation for Huntress if she can still hit you.

Not being good enough to force them to leave is not a hostage situation. Sorry if that sounds harsh but that is the truth about it.

The fact you kill 1 means it is not a hostage situation. If they continued to refuse to do gens you would have killed them eventually.

While I actually agree with you overall and on the definition of what hostage should entail, I had a friend banned (1d) for the old Thompson House bodyblock when two people were trapped, two were free to do gens, open exit gate and do EGC - those guys opted not to do EGC for like 20 mins, eventually they did, guys in house died. Now me or people I know have done the old Thompson House thing tens of times , and that one was the only ban for it - reason being it was to a streamer with more than 100 viewers. I've also seen it done to streamers with lower viewercounts who sent in vod, support ticket etc and no bans, so from my experience regarding holding the game hostage, BHVR are possibly inconsistent and definitely don't adhere to what yourself or I would consider the correct definition.

I don't think these guys should be banned though for this, they were always doing something to progress the game individually, either being chased or aiding their teammates.

  • Can believe the survival rate, but the gens completed I absolutely cannot. Considering how unbelievable the gens completed rate is, guess this data may as well be ignored

I just want to discuss how unfun it is to get SWFs like these. Not argue about Ruin+Tinkerer+Undying on how sweaty it is? Like I can't even counter Object of Obsession normally while you can just go find all five Totems to counter Ruin and Undying.

If I was bringing a build that sweaty, I'd personally be hoping for a squad like this so the match is actually remotely challenging

  • Doesn't have counterplay. You can zone free with no downside, the tokens start coming back as soon as you enter the pallet break, so you slam a pallet, because of this 0.5s after basically enfurying a pallet, your one consumed token is already back, so you can instantly use the power again, you physically don't have the time to make it anywhere in most cases. There's also the hindered thing, and the fact that has a score event for this which is a benefit for detection. Blight has a good bit of counterplay normally which compound 33 negates, pallets become totally useless vs this addon. I used it twice just to try it (I main Blight) and it was just so braindead, survs had no option at a pallet, and if I go vs this addon I'm almost certainly gonna dc/suicide on first hook.

Nah, from my experience as a blight main, alchemists ring and blighted crow are by far his best add-ons.

With alchemists ring, you can hit a healthy survivor with a lethal rush, and make the speed boost after the hit worth nothing, because you can catch up instantly, same with blighted crow.

Compound 33 is overpowered and absolutely top 2, but yeah I’d personally put ring as 1 and crow as 3.

stealth. i know that's not the answer you want to hear, but the counterplay to caleb is... stealth.

He's been a bounty hunter, and that's how you counter him. you hide, evade and stuff.

So right there is a pretty good reason to just dc/suicide and go next whenever it’s slinger. You’ve basically answered your own question. Why would you want to play this game when your strategy is to hide (unless you’re new/bad)

  • Not just me then, good to know, also had the thing where the surv screams but isn’t infected. Many times clear, obvious, indisputable hits with corrupt purge aren’t damaging too.

  • You can avoid playing with console players though, go to the main menu, settings then disable crossplay

  • @Boomer_Zoomer said:

    M&A, no addons, Rank 1.

I've stomped plenty of teams with him.

Same, doesn't mean he is any good though, you can do that with any killer. I won prob 20-25 games in a row as I played him a load before I prestiged him. Doesn't mean he is good though, you can win with any killer in public matches generally, people with legit 50h can still be red rank

  • @KrazyKatFTW said:

Really surprised to see placebo at the bottom, it is so good with the consecutive speed slam add ons as you start of slow and get a bit of time to plan your future slams speeding up each time also getting 100% bloodpoints along the way.

Not sure where i would put it in your tier list but defo not bottom

also getting 100% bloodpoints along the way.

Dunno about others, I've literally never failed to max deviousness though unless I won in 2 mins

  • Problem is it's super oppressive vs solo survivors, who are already the weakest role in the game by far, with no totem counter, comms, etc. It's more unhealthy than unfair because of this if there is a problem, I personally run Detective's Hunch in my main build though.

  • I don’t really every bring moris, due to the fact they are easily the most overpowered item in the game, but I’ve started bringing them for keys on occasion because it feels like I see a key 1/3 games now. It’s definitely justified IMO, nothing else bar a few like iri head, compound 33 on blight or topknot on oni is really sufficient

  • Maps. Any indoor map, Haddonfield, Mother's Dwelling, Ormond. Can I win? Sure. Will it be fun? Never is.

Honestly one of the best changes they could make is a way to avoid getting indoor maps. Unfun chases, can't use your powers as killer, they're just totally game ruining

  • @calem said:

This is probably the most bizarre thing I've seen as killer so far. In the lobby, I noticed they all had ttv names and I checked their streams. They were all on comms with each other, had 2000+ hours each in the game (2 of them had over 4000), the usual stuff you see.

I loaded in Badham Preschool II as Slinger. I downed a Kate pretty quickly, hooked her, one of them dc's, the Kate then dc's. The Steve and Feng then come and find me to point at the hook. I figured everyone wants this game over. I hook Steve who dc's while on the hook, and hook Feng who dies instantly.

I went into one of their streams to ask: Why did everyone DC?

Apparently, they only DC when playing against Slinger. The reason being, "he is unfun to play against". Now, don't get me wrong, I completely understand where they come from when saying this. It's near impossible to react to Slinger's ADS insta-shoot, and you can gain distance on him simply by holding it up. But then they said he is "unfair". This is where I disagree and I think most will too. Is Slinger strong in a chase? Yeah, there is no denying that. But he is evened out in his insane lack of map pressure. He's a 110% move speed killer with no map pressure. They were all comms together, one of them had Prove Thyself, it would not have been hard at all to gen rush me (it was a Preschool map so it was large).

I watched the stream for another game just to see what they behave like, and it's honestly quite pathetic. They went against a Forever Freddy (Swing Chains, Jump Rope, Thana, Dying Light, Sloppy) and said that THIS game would be more fun than a Slinger. They proceeded to gen rush a Forever Freddy with the Prove Thyself.

My question for everyone is this: What do YOU think about Slinger? Is he fun to play against? Is he fair to play against? Do you think DC'ing against every x killer you play against is pathetic behaviour, especially on stream?

TL;DR 4 salty streamers on comms DC'd solely because I played Slinger who is apparently "unfun and unfair", but Forever Freddy is acceptable.

One thing I will say regarding 'he is unfair' - I think they are solely referring to chase, they don't really care about winning, doing gens isn't exactly fun, is it? The fun part is the chase so I can sympathise with this point kind of, even though he's a very beatable and not particularly amazing killer, it's comparable to camping. If the killer is facecamping and you are on comms, you can just do gens, right? That's still winning, the killer is losing - that doesn't mean winning was remotely fun though, and I see Slinger in the same way as that.

My question for you is, would you blame someone for DCing if it was a hard facecamping killer from first hook. While they're very different things, they're a similar match experience. Going vs a killer facecamping = you just hold M1 optimally, not fun. Slinger has the same result. Circumstancially it's questionable, I'd expect them to DC the Freddy too, but I'll always understand a 4 man who DCs vs Slinger. Why would you want to participate in a match you know is a waste of your time and won't be enjoyable?

  • @musefan said:

It seems that the most popular cause for a DC is to avoid de-pipping. You can clearly see when someone DC because they are not having a good game.

So having de-pip as a punishment would hopefully prevent that. As the player would ideally try to play on an earn enough to black pip.

    Possible counter-arguments in advance...

    1. "I shouldn't be punished when I DC because I dont like the killer/map" - yes, you should be punished. This game isn't just about you.

    2. "I shouldn't be punished because my internet cuts out" - ok, this would be unfortunate. However, it shouldn't be that common that it really makes much difference to your rank anyway. If your internet cuts out all the time... well, that's just something you need to learn to deal with and you probably have bigger things to worry about than de-pipping.

You do depip if you DC. You infact used to double depip when you DC, but this was presumably removed because people DC'd because they actually wanted to depip.

But why did they give up? Do you feel like they gave up because it got no recognition and the complaining was useless, or something?

I think people give up because they believe they can't influence the devs, and I think it's pretty correct to think this. I mean not a single person I know likes the overheat mechanic, and from what it seems virtually nobody does, Billy is way less fun to play and didn't need the nerf. The devs know that nobody likes overheat and makes him less fun, but they opt to keep it in anyway. If Billy's overheat, something so obvious, a clear a horrible mistake that nobody likes isn't getting reverted at this stage, then it does feel like 'why bother'.

I don't really get the point of your post, it implies you think people should boycott the game or something because the devs won't listen?

There's enough evidence that there's no reason to continue bothering to complain, we have ridiculous things like iri head, keys and moris that still exist in October 2020. It's ridiculous, they can't even sort out the highest game ruining priorities which people have been rightfully complaining about for years. My expectation is they will (rightfully, IMO) make Thana 6% and (rightfully, IMO) keep the Pop nerf anyways.

  • Nurse, Demo, Huntress, Blight, Billy (although I find new Billy super frustrating because overheat shouldn't exist and is too impactful if you use engravings, they REALLY need to make engravings also reduce heat gained or whatever)

So many unhappy solo players on here. Can't you just create a topic to share gamertags/names with people in your region? you don't even need to use voice comms if you don't want, look at Fungoose, he plays swf with no voice comms but he wins because he's taking good players into the game with him. It's often a different story when he plays solo.

Rank reset changes really did a number on the solo survivor queue. Its never been the same since.

Same with killer too, >90% of games are kinda boring free wins vs worse players. Rare to actually be challenged

  • Slinger, Phead, Freddy, Clown, Trapper - The only killer I hate going against who actually needs a nerf IMO is Spirit. The rest just have boring uninteresting powers which make chases (the entire fun in survivor for me) not enjoyable.

Yeah as stated I'm not someone who's even screaming for these perks to be nerfed, but I have had this happen against me and I totally see the point people are making when they complain, but people also need to understand what the game would be like in 2020 without these perks. If specifically DS/BT receive any nerfs, they cannot be large.

I'm the same, somehow despite insidious bubba being the most toxic of all camping builds it's the only one I don't hate 🤣 its best when they give you the nod too. You know you're done for its just a question of how many souls are going down with you.

Yeah insidious Bubba is just different because of the meme, always the funniest ######### when you know they are camping and you see a random run into the basement.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1646753#Comment_1646753

What's wrong with BT? DS and OoO are the only OP survivor perks imo.

in instances same with DS, fine when it comes to fulfilling its purpose it's fine, but problematic when people use it aggressively and you hit into a 13s BT and the guy who just came off the hook with a 1 for 1 is getting saved by the guy who has that BT still on him and DS, then the unhooked guy has DS, rendering both invincible and causing you to lose any potential hook pressure. Also like DS IMO unfair lategame - to be honest as annoying as BT and DS being 'misused' can be - the game would be killer sided and insanely unfun without them, the one clear thing that I think needs to be changed is how they function after the generators are done.

  • I'd move Trapper up a tier, usually ends up similar to Hag, probably Doctor too asDoctor players seem to play very sweaty in my experience. Agree with the 'controversial' Bubba pick - as someone who loves the insidious Bubba meme, sadly only like 5% of Bubbas I face actually camp

Yeah, I main survivor. I one-tricked Spirit at one point to get the rank 1 achievement, and I go back to killer to grind BP and tome challenges, but I end up being more bored playing killer than survivor. Though it's a lose-lose situation because 8/10 of my survivor matches aren't very enjoyable anymore. I'm a solo survivor so it's even worse.

I really enjoy facing a Demogorgon and Doctor (if it's not a 3-gen doc), but the only killers I really ever see at rank 1 are Freddy, Spirit, Slinger, and Pyramid Head (as you said), and it's the same build/playstyle every time.

I personally find killer more interesting because you are on your toes and always interacting, it's enjoyable to me, and I don't find balance issues impact my matches (if anything, my issue is I have too many easy matches because it is so easy to get to red ranks), mains are Blight, Demo, Huntress, Bubba but I ultimately play everyone except for Trapper/Spirit and only play Freddy with total meme builds. For survivor I pretty much don't play solo anymore because it's too easy to get to high rank survivor (this impacts my matches on both sides, my biggest issue with killer is matches being too easy) - so I play in a 4 man and try to have fun, if it's a boring af killer/mori then we're just encouraged to make the game as unfun as possible for the killer, if it's a fun killer I feel encouraged to not try and end the game ASAP, do totems, ######### around, try and get into chases all that. Survivor is great when the killers are fun, but the killers pretty much entirely dictate the fun you can have unless you're one of those squads who doesn't do gens and just memes about and goes for jukes and stuff until you die. Not a fan of the hardcore survivor rulebook enforcers or people who complain about swf/genrushing, but for the former I can atleast feel some sympathy when first hand I see the killer pretty much has the power to dictate whether survivors can have fun or not.

Considering how ######### solo surv is in terms of both fun aspect and (IMO) balance, being the weakest role in the game to me, I think my best hope for you is that you manage to find some people to play with. Feels pretty much mandatory to me at this point.

  • Solo is definitely the weakest role in the game. I think it's desperately needed to try and emulate the things players on comms have the best you can. There should be status icons for when a survivor is repairing, in a healing animation, being chased etc. - this would not be gamebreaking, it is not too drastic or impactful like other suggestions are (such as make X perk basekit) it wouldn't ultimately affect SWF, it'd have more impact on solo surv which is the weakest role and desperately needs a buff right now.

  • @skarsguts said:

It's miserable to play against killers these days. It's always a forever build or a sweaty slugging 4ker. That or being tunneled and camped. Lately I've even watched Vinc3ntVega disconnect to avoid the bullshit killers do.

It has gotten so bad that I now use task manager when the killer brings a secret offering. I just won't put up with it anymore, lul.

Killer main, but play both sides (like 60/40 split) - My sympathies are mostly with survivors at this point. When a killer has a dogshit game on a terrible map vs stacked 2nd chance perks, it's horrible for sure and shouldn't exist, but those matches are FAR less frequent than bullshit unfun survivor experiences, Iri Head, Mori, Spirit etc. Boring as ######### experiences that you wish you'd never queued up for, I don't frequently DC, but I alt f4 hidden offerings unless I'm in 4 man (in which case we usually sweat and tbag, because honestly ######### people who bring moris).

Infact, in general, most of the killers we utterly destroy are the boring ones, which is definitely somewhere between 1 in 3 or 1 in 2 games depending on luck. Killer is Spirit/Freddy/Phead/Slinger? Chase interaction is boring af, just sweat gens, try and destroy them, get out to go next. Hard camping? Just rush gens. Mori? Definitely could never main survivor as someone who enjoys chaes and not stealthing, when the most fun part in a decent number of games is just holding M1 and destroying the killer because he wants to play boring #########, pretty satisfying too. If the killer actually picks someone fun, don't care about winning, just want to make it a fun match - point being that this is because there's no fun to be had when you're vs one of the aforementioned killers.

Feel sorry for anyone who mains survivor honestly, I've always seen people say stuff like 'try killer and you'll feel real pain' 'i feel so sorry for killer mains' - in my experience playing current dbd, the opposite is true for me, survivor is a decently miserable experience and some days I just have to drop it and play another game/switch to killer, as going vs a Spirit into Iri Head into a first hook mori is pretty depressing, yet I notice killers complain far more and it kinda baffles me.

  • @TransverseCaster said:

"Slugging the 3rd survivor to find the 4th to prevent a hatch escape - is not taking the game hostage and is not against the game rules in the slightest."

So if I slug them and let them bleed out to death every game, that's fair? And what the actual ######### is the point of the hatch if I can just bypass it like that? It's a direct contravention to a game mechanic. This is basically systemic toxicity and probably the main reason why this game has unparalleled rage quitting.

The bottom line is that there needs to be a way to get out of this scenario that is not cheating. Don't just get mad at people for not having a solution to a crappy issue. Help resolve the issue.

Got a simple one - holding M2 makes you bleed out 2x as fast. Still a 2 min bleedout, can't ruin the game with that as it's so long (just as long as the entire hook duration) - only purpose is to speed up the ######### waiting process when you are being left to bleed out. Could even make it so this only works at 95% recovery.

The problem is, this is an old suggestion I've even made months ago, and they take an extremely long time to actually implement changes. Odds are even if they did somehow read this and go 'hey, that's a healthy idea without a downside to improve qol for players', we wouldn't see it for 3 months minimum, even though the function could easily be set up for the patch in 3 weeks time.

  • Will vouch for this in two aspects

    1. They shared here (https://twitter.com/DeadByBHVR/status/1309509004985597955?s=20) 'Keeping with the theme of protecting your fellow Survivors, you'll get tokens for pallet and flashlight saves as well.'
    2. From personal experience, I can confirm WGLF *already did this*

i do genuinely believe i see more entitled killers now than i do survivors

If you look at places like forums, reddit and Tru3Ta1ent's chat (last time I spoke in his chat and talked about how Compound 21 and Topknot were OP, and not skill based when you run them every single game after he said he likes to show skill, he just assumes I only play survivor and have never played a game of killer in my life), you see it at like a 80/20 ratio IMO, not even close. I'm a killer main (somehwere between 60-40 and 70-30) who plays both sides, although I prefer killer, and triy to be objective and consider both balance and fun aspects, I've been called an 'entitled killer main' like twice ever and and a 'survivor main' 10s of times just for having takes that are anything other than **swf op!!! genrush bad!!! killer good!!**

  • You definitely underrate desperate measures. With just two injured players it's only 5% lower than botany. It's really good to reset and 99 heals to do this super fast, and using it with BT for the faster unhooks means you can actually do it so fast the killer can't do a 1 for 1

I gotta admit, of all the things that can be picked on, one thing I find silly is attaching an admitted "newbie" perk like Technician to a survivor you can't get in the base game. How's a new player going to even get access to this perk? Do you think new players just buy all the chapters before actually, y'know, playing the game?

By the time they decide to buy Feng, I'd think they can hit enough Skill Checks to make this perk somewhat obsolete.

You might want to just make Feng free if you're looking at her to be someone new players play. Throw more niche survivors with niche perks like Nea if you want newer players to still have to deal with the same paywall.

Had this issue with Windows of Opportunity, was recommended it by friends cause I was total dogshit and could never find resources. Didn't need it by the time I unlocked it. These new player perks are pointless when they are locked behind a paywall and some additional grinding (and you can't even argue it's not a paywall, cause if you are additionally grinding the 9k iri shards and using it for a newbie perk, you are either A) Making a pretty terrible decision and you will benefit way more from an actual good perk or B) You don't need it by the time you get it

  • Mindbreaker is still useless, my suggestions were to make Cruel Limits within 24m of the killer (and maybe a bitter murmur like mapwide 10s block after gens are done) - and mindbreaker makes a surv scream when it hits 50%

  • My change to mindbreaker would be that you make it so a survivor screams when they hit the threshold 50% completion of a generator, would be similarly functioning to Tinkerer but with a different impact I guess, would tie in well with the name of the perk too.

My main issue with this update is some of the absolutely useless perks are still absolutely useless. Mindbreaker being one ofc.

For mindbreaker I'd make the aforementioned change. It will still be unused and extremely bad without further change.

For Cruel Limits I'd make it within a radius of **the killer** - no point having a gen pop on the other side of the map and your perk does nothing, if it's within the killer's radius (24m 32m idc) - it always has the potential to be impactful. It will still be unused and extremely bad without further change.

I get Technician is for newer players, but I'd still make it have some other function, right now it's locked behind a chapter if you are not on console, and it's not default unlocked - so by the time you get it, you will not need it (same goes for windows of opportuntiy, zanshin tactics, visionary)

Still don't understand these posts. The ones that are actually toxic I almost never come across. I've met very few people who were actually being toxic and sending racial, homophobic slurs, death threats etc. The whole meme of "you wouldn't last two seconds in a MW2 Xbox lobby 10 years ago" really isn't a meme anymore with this community is it?

I'd love to see guaranteed Jungle Gym (either type, any direction) in the tiles that spawn nearest to the centre in the main cubbys

I assume they'll add a breakable wall which makes atleast one of the windows weak in the eventual rework

  • So hard to pick between maps and moris, moris are way more impactful and so OP, but 50% of the maps are dogshit, I'll ultimately go maps since their impact is more frequent

  • It gives you enough distance to never been caught out, very easy to play safe when running this perk, basically meaning the object can always run to a really strong area before you can chase them.

  • I just cloak camped as Wraith and hard tunneled, PWYF Nemesis aswell, since he has the DS bug, took me like 4 games

  • Well they improved visibility in Yamaoka overall (although I still think it's not to the standard I'd want) and made Badham less obnoxious as killer, I wouldn't say the two realm reworks we've seen so far are totally amazing, but they're definitely leaning positive for me.

Main issues I have is I'd like further visibility improvements

Thing is, I hated Yamaoka and Badham beforehand, whereas I like Macmillan, so I think I need to see what they do to the actual good maps rather than the bad ones, so far it's just been making some ######### maps a bit less #########.

  • Such a basic ######### build, especially on blight, and double especially if they're using c21 & maybe c23.

I don't have problems with any of the actual perks, but it's dumb to go vs the same ######### every game, on both sides.

However, pop corrupt was in basically every game before undying came out anyway, pop was essentially basekit and it'd be total amazement if a killer didn't run it, so it's not like stacking perks towards gen slowdown is a new thing whatsoever

Hidden Nerf Thread is Hidden I see. "Nerf PH's Ranged Fakeout" hidden in a "how about we change this" thread lol. How about - cut out all the crap about his fakeout needing nerfed - because it doesn't; Survivors just hate that he can mindgame the hell out of them with his ranged ability suddenly being an M1 attack.

He definitely needs more utility with his trenches and I'd go so far as to say even giving his ranged attack a shorter-duration Torment effect when it hits - he needs more ways to apply and maintain Torment: and Torment NEEDS some sort of negative effective on Survivors other than just the "threat" of being caged/mori'd.

I'd almost go so far as to say if you do anything with the trails - increase his running speed while dragging the trails (outside of a chase, of course) - like a short duration 'sprint burst' for him to have 'map control' through map coverage, that he can only use when his power is charged.

It's not a mindgame when it's **incredibly** easy to do with zero counterplay other than hoping the killer is a bot and messes up. it just means you got hit cause the killer picked phead and knew a basic stupid zoning technique. If that kind of 'mindgame' is fun to you then I am assuming you enjoy Spirit's 'mindgames' too and play her and Freddy.

I actually have to go out of my way when playing Pyramid Head to make it interesting, ambitiously using the M2 when I could just optimally m2 cancel and zone every time for free with no downside. Terrible design and desperately needs a tweak, right now there's zero interactivity on both sides unless the PH goes out of their way to make it interesting.

if this isn't a troll response than the poster is missing a chromosome or two as well as anyone who seriously can't see how something that discourages players from disconnecting is GOOD for the game. Even if they suicide on hook it still wastes the killers time getting them to the hook and as proven when DC penalty's were introduced it still reduces dc'ing and players who dc usually do it in the heat of the moment and its more likely that they will stay in the game even when given the option to kill themselves after having a moment to chill out.

You DC and screw your team you should also screw yourself out of matches for some time because YOU ruined other players experience with the game by basically giving the killer a kill, quicker.

if anyone see's this and disagrees let me ask you a question. Do you play rainbow or any other competitive game? do you hate it when your teammate leaves the match and it resulted in you losing? if so how does it make any sense that that player doesn't receive a penalty for ruining other players experiences and why shouldn't dbd take the same policy when 1 dead survivor early game against a good killer vanquishes the chance of the others escaping in any way other than the hatch.

As for the question about other games, I get the point but there’s a big difference. As someone who DCs a fair bit, not a single reason I dc in dbd applies to any competitive game, when people dc in other games I do get annoyed, but when people dc in dbd I don’t blame them, because there are so many badly designed maps and a few killers/addons in this game that I couldn’t blame someone from dcing this #########. People play the game for fun, right? If there is no fun to be had, I’m gonna go next, the devs can work on eliminating DCs by fixing the things that make people dc, stop stacking of slowdown perks, design better killers who aren’t dogshit to go vs, fix dumb addons, and fix the horrible maps. I just personally can’t get mad at someone for dcing vs ######### like spirit, iri head, haddonfield - I just don’t see why you wouldn’t unless you’re some sort of masochist

I'm sorry, but gen speeds isn't counterplay. And that's what all his counterplay boils down to: genrush the bastard because he can't do anything about it.

The chase is one of the only reasons DbD is even played. Killers that completely dominate aren't good for the games health. It's one of the reasons I love Blight so much: I win the chase if I'm better at chasing and can outhink and outplay the survivor, not because I'm a good aim and negate all else by virtue of bang-chain-smack. I mained Slinger til Blight's release, by the way, so I do know what I'm talking about. As fun as he is to play, he isn't fun to play against because there really isn't any interactivity or chance to show off any form of skill. If the killer is within about 9m and they are a decent shot, you literally cannot do a thing except avoid that situation in the first place, which is unreasonable. Dodge behind a tree? I'm gonna shoot you. Drop a pallet? I'm gonna break it and shoot you, or play the tile and shoot you. Hold W? Bang.

The only counterplay to Slinger is using a macro to break the chain in two seconds. Which is both cheating and stupid.

Agree with you so much, for some reason people think it's fine because you can do gens vs them, same with Spirit and the other commonly complained about killers. It's not about strength or balance, map pressure whatever - it's about fun. The fun in dbd isn't sitting holding M1, it is the chase, it is not fun or satisfying, nor do I feel remotely outplayed EVER vs a Spirit and in 95% of situations vs a Slinger. Maybe <5% of the time they actually hit a really good shot through a crack or something.

I can play in a 4 man, see it's a Spirit or Slinger who's boring af so we just sweat gens and 4 man escape, the only fun to be had at that point is when you tbag them at the gate since they picked Spirit or something, because the chase is boring, doing gens is boring - literally the entire match is boring and it's why I'll never advocate in favour of DC penalties when such killers exist that you literally can't have fun against unless your enjoyment is being an urban evasion blendette and holding m1

People need to understand that Freddy, Spirit, Slinger, Phead, Clown, Trapper aren't fun to go against because they aren't satisfying to play against in a chase, not because they are strong - hell the two commonly most deemed unfun killers outside the main 4 are the worst two in the game, yet nobody thinks they should be nerfed obviously.
