  • This perk being nerfed to me is in the same tier as Gearhead PTB nerf, Cruel Limits 'buff', Billy's overheat, Billy's PTB addons - A tier that I basically say whoever came up with this should probably be permanently removed from balancing because they clearly have no idea what they're doing

  • I think the single best change dbd could get right now is a way to never get an indoor map again. They're all dogshit and dc worthy for me, on both sides.

I thought this was a buff. Instead of having a longer charge time, they have a longer stun duration if they mess up. Replacing the charge time penalty with a stun penalty would reward you for doing good and punish you even more if you make a mistake.

Oh my bad, I misinterpreted and thought this was an additional penalty you were suggesting. I think they are fine as are with the downside, there's a reason old crackbilly was nerfed. Double engravings speed + standard charge time would be actually oppressive at any curveable tile for Billy. For Bubba the speed boost is too negligible anyway

  • Well Billy's engravings aren't bad atall but suffer from overheat massively, and Bubba's are legit dogshit and actually make him a worse killer - so regardless of this, bad idea, because we do not need to nerf engravings, and IMO I'd actually buff them both (Billy's reduce heat gain, Bubba's increase the speed gain)

Having used this bad boy again all day, i came to the same conclusion as i've done before. (Mind you that this conclusions is solely based on Wraith being the user.)

I really really really like this Perk.

Seeing 2-3 DAMAGE GENERATOR score events pop up with just 1 down feels good, especially knowing that regression also starts.

    I mean i don't love the Perk, y'know? I'm not surprise-hitting with M1s, completely stopping chases, y'know?

And okay, maybe it's not on PGTW's level, but i kinda don't mind: I like not having to go out of my way to kick Generators.

That said, the cooldown really really really feels like an unnecessary hindrance to it, and without it, i think i might even replace PGTW in my main build with Surge.

It feels so terrible to down someone in the last 5 seconds of its cooldown, which happened i think 7 times today.

The immediate regression is 3x smaller than PGTW, which still sounds good when combined with my earlier-mentioned 2-3 DAMAGE GENERATOR score events, while in reality it's way more often just 1 or 0, since 100% & 0% Generators obviously don't count. (Also: Generator deadzones exist.)

You could have a really good slowdown Perk here that could be a competitor with PGTW & Hex: Ruin.

But i guess that's the problem here, right? That combining these 3 would then lead to massive slowdowns?

In that case: Why even have other slowdown Perks? Why add a new one with The Twins?

No, i'll always feel like Surge would be close to perfectly fine without its cooldown.

Probably could've worded things better, but i don't care at the moment, if you point out stuff then i'll edit.

    What's your thoughts on Surge?

Remove the basic attack cooldown (most important) and perhaps lower/remove the cooldown (would be nice) and I'd use it perhaps (I don't use ruin/pop though, usually nothing or corrupt). Basic attack limitations are frustrating though and unnecessary on some perks, like they actually managed to nerf Knock Out because they thought this was necessary for some reason. This perk is clearly not as good as PGTW/Ruin, it needs some love to make it more useable.

  • No idea why you are getting so much stick. I am presuming your point is that crossplay off should mean you can get matched with your own players who have it enabled on your platform only - rather than hardcore separation of the queues. Seems reasonable to me.

I'd actually be against this because of personal reasons documented in my comment above, but no idea why you are getting so much ######### for a super reasonable suggestion (and also, your suggestion is how I thought it would work initially)

Where did he show that? Is there a video or something?

Didn't know he showed it atall/if there's a video - but I can verify the truth to the statement, crossplay has actually been one of the best things they've ever introduced because of this if you're a good/comp level player. Wanna play for fun, ######### about, play with less experienced friends, have a chill/funny match? Crossplay on. Wanna play with a strong premade and go vs a sweaty af killer? Basically ranked/comp mode. Crossplay off.

And again to clarify, because some people don't understand this - crossplay off on PC isn't about PC players being better than players from other platforms - it's about the fact basically the only people turning crossplay off are the actual good players

I didn't really either, pretty much just the silent slug bug, but I noticed it in KYF when doing 1v1s with a friend on multiple occasions

  • Not a fan of it, she sounds too similar to Cheryl

  • Victor can get over pallets and get the hit, but he has to move a decent distance away from the pallet due to the arc, so I'd say your specific strategy of just pallet camping doesn't work - however that doesn't mean your general point is wrong, if a surv is actually running around a pallet properly, it is pretty difficult to get a hit as Victor

Always a new chapter will come I‘m very excited for the content, characters, perks AND MAP...

With the blight chapter we got no new map, what was very sad and a lot of player were disappointed!

So why they do it again?? I know about the graphic updates for other maps, but a new map is be part of a new chapter 😭

Can't say I agree most people are disappointed. The best maps in the game are the original realms and I honestly think the game would be better if nearly every map since then was just deleted, especially indoor. I remember having the opinion after the map changes and Slinger they should not release a new map and instead work on fixing the old ones. They went on to release the worst one they've put out yet.

  • @WishIcouldmain said:

As of the PTB they need some fime tuning. But when they are fined tuned what tier do you think they'll be I'd have to say C tier.

You cannot say based upon not knowing how they will change things. Blight was pretty clearly (to me atleast) a killer with potential on PTB, but sucked on PTB just due to mechanics. Then he got his changes, and is comfortably A tier and probably top 5 to me (something I said since d1 of release). Twins again is a killer with potential, with some obvious downsides the devs have stated will be addressed. If they go full fledged and buff Victor when he's incapacitating a surv, allowing you to recall Victor at will, reducing the Dormant transition or slowdown, I could see this killer being around top 10. Maybe I'm wrong and they could go higher, but the biggest drawback will be the fact that no matter what Charlotte is a basic M1 killer, and it is so difficult to get two hits (if the surv always leaves the loop when you switch, even if Victor is on you, two hits will take forever - aswell as picking up survs being so bad) - My general playstyle is actually playing aggressively, hardslugging, philosophy of trying to get everybody injured, so maybe this killer will suit me. It will be hard though, especially as Victor doesn't present infectious as an option

  • How do you have 2.8k hrs and think that you need to play a certain killer to win matches at rank 1??? You can be Wraith and get 80%+ killrate at rank 1 if you're decent

  • @Almo said:

All of the data I have on Pig indicate she is in the top third of Killers for performance.

Then you need to stop using said data for any balancing decisions, because that right there is a massive red flag

  • Not just me who thought she sounded like Cheryl then

  • @Steel_Eyed said:

After playing these killers quite a bit, Pigs and Legions addons are quite good.

I agree with GF to an extent. Ghostface needs the thirty second base reduced, but not allow stacking of time reduction so people can be freed up to use his other addons. Ofherwise double charge time is king.

I'd just make the base say 22 seconds, then the recovery ones 4/2s respectively (rn they are 8/6s so 30>16s would become 22>16s for example)

  • @bm33 said:

They should make it so survivors can speed up bleed out. 4 minutes is way too long to be doing nothing but maybe crawling around on the ground getting 0 points.

Already came out with a solution to this I posted on the forums months ago. When you are 95%+ recovered, you can hold M2 to bleedout 2x as fast. Cannot be used to grief, just deals with this ######### situation

  • In terms of larger streamers, played vs Otzdarva's Pyramid Head and Scorpionz Pig, both were 3 man escapes.

  • One of their issues is they prefer to do changes in less regular, 'larger' (but not large enough) content patches. If they would instead update the game with smaller perk/addon tweaks more regularly I reckon it'd be better, and they'd be able to adjust more. Instead we waited over a year for a change to Cruel Limits, a god awful perk - but it's still god awful and we'll have to wait another 2? 3? months after this useless change for it to be potentially re-evaluated again.

Survivors insult my intelligence on a daily basis.

The dumb tech, the window tech, the maybe he didn't see me on BBQ so I'm gonna crouch in place and turn invisible tech. The obvious flashlight saves, the failed pallet saves, the bodyblocking with BT nonsense. Tying to bait an early swing with Dead Hard and Sprint Burst. Taking hits and flashlight clicking to try to get me to chase you when I know dang well there are two people on death hook and you're not one of them.

Just stop. I have an IQ over 7. I ain't gonna fall for that sh

Cause it works on 90% of killers, most players who play this game are bad at it. People still get CJ teched at this point ffs

  • Freddy is the easiest in terms of actual being easy, IMO he is the easiest in the entire game. Spirit is fairly easy, but a bit harder than a Freddy and takes some hrs, but has more worthwhile reward as she is better. Phead is also pretty simple IMO

  • A fairly good player should have a 90% killrate at red ranks and be able to win with anything. I've 4k'd with Burger King Myers at red ranks. Red rank players mostly suck, and Wraith with strong addons is not as bad - but winning at red ranks means nothing. I can get to rank 1 with insidious Bubba or whatever. Just because it's easy to beat bots in red rank pubs, doesn't make Wraith any good.

  • They are, they are just insanely slow in general (although are trying to make more perk changes than previous), but also have an extremely bad practice where they like to release loads of changes at once instead of in smaller time increments. This results in stuff like the useless Cruel Limits buff, which will do nothing to make it remotely viable (and this includes their killrate stats which they use even though they are so useless they should be binned), so we have to wait several months just for them to finally change it again, even though anyone who is remotely decent at the game can tell you that the buff will not change a thing in literally 5 seconds after reading the change.

Essentially, they are actually doing it, they're just doing a fairly bad job (not all bad though, like the WGLF buff is a good concept albeit probably a bit overtuned, but it is unfair to give them ######### for this because it is very hard to find perfection in balance on the first attempt, the most important thing is concept) - but what's so strange is they're hit and miss in a baffling way aswell, like so many changes they've done are actually good well thought out healthy changes for the game, but then you get some things like the Hillbilly PTB addons, Cruel Limits change, Gearhead PTB nerf where they're so bafflingly bad you almost want to say whoever came up with them should be reassigned away from game balance, because they are just at that high a level of absurdly terrible changes that it's inexcusable.

  • That's not stretched, but you seem to be the average anti stretched guy who just blames it because they heard it's a thing and is bad at the game, nemesis makes her oblivious so she can see you through the wall with object as she hears no TR. No res can see over Macmillan jungle gyms, and even if the walls were lower, this is not how stretched works anyways.

I like Up The Ante's design way more despite having extremely little use, since that one makes you stronger with alive Survivors.

    Furtive Chase.

So firstly, you can only gain strength by hooking your Obsession.

Secondly, the reduction in Terror Radius is while in a chase.

Thirdly, the Obsession gains a form of immunity if the Killer wants to keep their Tokens, a.k.a. they'll let them live for less Terror Radius.

    Insidious.

    Standing still, riveting gameplay!

    Overwhelming Presence.

Just don't use your Item, Perk beaten.

"But if they don't use their Item, it's as if they don't have one, so it's kinda good."

Only where you are at, if you're in one corner of the map doing whatever, then Survivors who are far away will just use their Items.

I am amazed Insidious exists in its current state. The bug they had in that one patch actually possibly made it remotely useful outside of just camping, then they fixed that. Such an unhealthy niche perk that has no place existing in honesty

By slapping I mean when you execute "follow me / come here" action but I've seen some twitch streamers doing that to killer after pallet stun and looks like you are "slapping" the killer

I mean I'm someone who enjoys getting BM'd and finds it funny, although I don't actually BM myself unless it's at the gate, which I do if the killer played really boring, was Spirit/Freddy/Deathslinger/Pyramid Head, or had NOED. I have no bias against this, so coming from someone who has that perspective I can tell you it's absolutely BM and I guess it would be wise to be aware of that, because many killers will definitely mald over this.

I may be wrong but being p3 50 might reduce your chances further of getting pestulas as the higher prestige the more rarer items. Pestulas are 3k bp, so they should be common rarity. As there are lots of common items, instead of petulas, it will give you common offerings and addons instead.

You're technically right, but the amount is so negligible it may aswell not exist

  • Two of my most played killers personally, I'd say they're fine as they are. I reckon Blight's pickrate is due to his difficulty to play and Demo because his DLC is the most expensive.

  • As a camping Bubba regular player, I've 4k'd 10s of games in a row without even depipping at rank 1. It's actually (and camping in general) is a good strategy, atleast in public matches, regardless of what you'll hear. There are so many factors going in to it that make it hard to counter, and if the survs aren't a 4 man premade their chances of finishing all the gens are, in my experience atleast, very low.

    Here's some of my takes on why this strategy works so well;

If you get the first down early, there will be 2 gens left by the time that guy is dead and you have your second victim, assuming nobody saves, then you just run NOED (which is uncounterable, the survs physically don't have the time to cleanse totems) if all the gens get done. I generally get more aggressive after the first surv is dead though.

If anyone goes for the save, that's probably gg. There are many reasons to go for the save, you may not know Bubba is there, you may want the BP, you don't want to just pump out gens because it's boring - if you're not on comms, it's really punishing, even lets say you go to the hook, see bubba, then leave - now your teammate does the same wondering why nobody saves, that's so much time wasted. Also, If anyone attempts escape even once, that's potentially game losing, those 20 seconds are absolutely crucial.

You may also down someone near a gen with significant progress, this will enable you to camp and regress that generator - this essentially adds a 6th gen to the game, with both the survivor's loss of progress, and requirement to go away and start a new gen. Very good to buy time.

It's essentially a strat that punishes the lack of comms, and requires a lot of variables to go in your favour to win against. Even as a camping Bubba main, last time I went against a camping Bubba, playing 3 man swf with a fellow camping Bubba main with 4k+ hrs and another guy with 5k hrs - we still got 4k'd. One of my friends went down, and the random went in to save and died, getting hooked, because they didn't know Bubba was there. NOED then got Bubba the 4k even though we did the gens as fast as possible. I've also played vs 4 mans with thousands of hours myself who tried to do the gens and still lost cause of NOED. But the main reason for that is they greed and go down fast, the early down is crucial.

So the obvious thing to do vs this strategy is rush gens never save, right? But the actual most important factor is the time it takes Bubba to get his first down. If you play super safe, using every pallet in the map inefficiently, it'll be 1-2 kills max. This is the biggest factor in whether you can win or not, and a long first chase, whether that's because the surv was good or just predropped every pallet, is the main cause of defeat. Problem with that ofc, you can't pre-emptively know the Bubba will camp, you'd just have to guess or figure it out. I'd say a good sign a Bubba won't camp is if they're using a gen perk like corrupt/ruin, most camping Bubbas will have Insidious+NOED always, then the other two are generally a mixture of carrying perks (Agi/Iron Grasp) and a chase perk (very likely Bamboozle).

  • About a week after I started playing, while playing normally, I hit red rank killer, then I mained camping Bubba (thought and still think the meme is hilarious, I found this game by watching a friend basement camp) so dropped and hovered around purple, went for rank 1 at some point because I thought camping Bubba at rank 1 sounds funny, took like 3 days, mostly played Doctor/Hag - turns up camping Bubba still works at rank 1 and you can avoid depipping 90% of matches too, never dropped since because the matches are so easy you virtually have to throw - even some of my friends who are pretty bad hit rank 1 when they went for it, all you need to do is pick Freddy & have Pop Goes The Weasel unlocked (Ruin+Undying will work now as a substitute too) - very minute actual skill required. Play both sides and have also went vs some truly horrible red rank killers (as in 0-2 hits all game and no idea what they're doing) - those ones seemed to usually have anywhere between 85-300 hours.

No video evidence yet because I haven't actually had someone ran on it completely (and I drop chase whenever someone goes here now) but my record is 6 times through the window before a killer left me, with the wall broken. They weren't in chase and couldn't catch me, at all. The game I think MusicNerd is talking about was on-stream yesterday, it was a Pig on Storehouse who knew she couldn't catch me there and so dropped chase. She was incredibly good otherwise and caught me out at a usually safe pallet, so extreme props to her.

Assuming this is using shift tech? Old storehouse (as in the one from a week ago) had a shift tech literal infinite too

  • Same with all the top ones, the most important factor is how easy they are to play. You can play Pig in an avg red rank lobby as an M1 andy with built in slowdown, slap on pop/corrupt or ruin/undying and easily be successful with not much skill required. Huntress however? Nurse? Blight? Those are harder, and even someone like Slinger who can still use his power to cheese free hits with zoning, is above this basic level. It's also why Freddy has the highest killrate, he is as good as the easiest killer to play in the game, plus very strong

  • @[Deleted User] said:

So I guess we should buff Nurse because her stats are low, right?

By the way, Freddy is not the only killer with gen speed add-ons. Huntress' begrimed heads make you repair generators 5% slower for 2 minutes if you get hit with them.

Also, the chart confirms nothing just because you claim it does. The devs literally said do not draw conclusions from these stats. These stats are not for balancing purposes. Hell, the pick and kill rates are not even for red ranks -- those are for all ranks, which we cannot draw conclusions from.

I won't argue that Freddy isn't a strong killer, but being strong isn't the same as overpowered. He's a threat, as killers should be. My only problem really with him is how easy and two dimensional he actually is to play and play against.

These stats are not for balancing purposes

Seems untrue in dev practice though, such as how Almo made the absurd claim Pig is A tier, while she happens to have a high killrate due to being simple to use, they were also used in reference to Myers who is clearly a killer that needs a few adjustments to make him decent in 2020, again, simple to play killer. Unfortunately, these stats which are pretty much useless appear to be being used for balance by Almo at the very least, but like you say about Freddy, your problem with him (which I agree) with is that he is so easy to play as. He's strong too ofc, but this is what mainly gives him a high killrate, and virtually the entire chart backs up the fact that ease of use is more important than strength.

Edit: Also, irrespective of what you think of Object as a perk whether it's OP as ######### or fine, it was also again clear from Almo's look into the perk he used stats to influence his opinion that it's fine, but pickrate/escaperate stats are not useful metrics whatsoever to determine how strong object is.

  • Freddy is not OP. There are better killers, the thing with Freddy is he is WAY too easy to play with no downside to snare spamming. Bubba, Myers and Pig are pretty ######### killers yet have high killrates - so what's common between this set of killers, and pretty blatant from the statistics in general? How easy a killer is to play is more important than how good the killer is, most people who play DBD play casually and are not very good - all this data does it show the obvious that Freddy is extremely easy to play with a bloated kit, slap Pop on him, spam snares, ez rank 1 even if you are dogshit (seen this in practice too, had a friend who was stuck in green rank and wanted the rank 1 achievement, told him to play Freddy and slap on pop, rank 1 in 3 days, Freddy + Pop is enough to carry nearly anyone vs average players) - Sadly it seems the devs also misuse this data (it's actually utterly useless because of the fact the strength of the killer isn't the most important factor in killrate) - but it'll be interesting to see what they do. Pretty blatant to any experienced player Freddy is strong, but he is not OP. He is just really braindead easy to play and has synergy with Pop which is probably the most braindead strong killer perk in the game too. If there's any changes to be made to him, it's just to make snare spam not a thing and make him a bit more difficult.

In the article posted on their website on the 21st they said the outfits would be going on sale today, it's not like it was snuck in.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/HHLCF614KVN2/screenshot-20201023-155809.png

That's actually in reference to a general sale which didn't happen for some reason (hence some outfits 'up to 75% off', yet none of these are) - it's also implied to be an auric cells only sale (also, whenever they do a sale like this, it consistently has an ingame news event detailing all the on sale skins, so just from prior experience of one this sale hasn't started yet). Even just using common sense, there's no way they'd release full price cosmetics with a planned 66% sale two days later.

For the record, I’m not trolling or trying to force DC’s. I’m engaging in a legitimate pressure strategy. It’s just funny how many DC’s this results in.

  • @Sluzzy said:

You are overacting. Myers was like rank 5 in killrates at rank 1 with around 70% killrate. He's a super super strong killer, but happens to have fair counterplay. I hope they don't touch him tbh. Survivors need buffed before he needs nerfed.

he's a bottom 5 killer possibly, red ranks is not a good sample because the vast majority of red ranks suck (if you're an above avg killer red rank killer you prob 4k like more than 90% of matches) - The data clearly shows that how easy the killer is to play is more important than how good they are, hence the simplest strong killer (Freddy) being the 'best', and low skillcap ones like Myers, Bubba, Pig being higher than they should be. Huntress is not even close to bottom half, and she is not worse than Clown, nor is Blight, nor is Nurse, nor is Freddy the best, nor are Pig/Bubba top half, nor is Spirit not top 2. Anyone with any idea about DBD knows this. This data is so inaccurate to how strong killers actually are that it should be completely disregarded when it comes to influencing anything regarding balance, and anyone who is decent enough at this game with enough experience should realise this immediately.

  • Well these stats show why under zero circumstances ever that killrates should be used as data. Seems that how easy a killer is to play is actually more impactful than how good a killer is.

  • I received a twitch DM after a match from a console player complaining about my 4 'toxic perks' - these perks were BBQ, Corrupt, Whispers, Nurses - Apparently aura perks are 'toxic' according to a guy who ran urban self-care and brought odd bulb + high end sapphire lens on his flashlights. Question is how. A lot of threads I have seen suggesting changes for him would either change nothing or make him unplayable.

If you give him the same wind-up time as huntress (which I see being called for regularly), you might easily screw those playing him over due to the limited range he has. You make his TR bigger/more noticeable, it might easily have the same effect. Not saying it definitely will, but it easily could. Especially in combination.

I'd go PH style where he's slowed/has a cooldown after cancelling M2. Huntress has to wind up at 86% or whatever and move to zone you, and you may have to juke, but it's not overtly oppressive because the speed is balanced. Slinger basically does this at 110 by existing or by tapping ADS, a slowdown for 0.5-1s after coming out of ADS could help this.

Problem ofc is the fact he's not even that good a killer anyway, definitely no nerfs needed. I'd honestly consider making him 115 if you went the route of only nerfs to the speargun, otherwise you'd maybe want to basebuff the reload speed, range (18>20m?), and time it takes the chain to break. You're not wrong though, it's very hard - infact there are clearly a lot of people who don't like the PH changes (I love them personally, just hope the insta M2 bug is fixed) but even if they do turn out to not be impactful, I appreciate them because for both PH 3 days ago and Slinger, as they stood, were absolutely miserable to go against to the point I'd just say do something, anything, cause it can't be like this. If killers like Slinger, Freddy, Spirit, PH didn't exist I'd probably not even be a killer main, but there's too many absolutely miserable experiences as surv for me to main the role (these killers, bad random teammates, moris) whereas with killer it's basically just the maps since you can dodge keys, and even then bad maps aren't exclusive to killer too, with maps like like Shelter Woods, Sanctum of Wrath which are really ######### as surv due to lack of resources, and ones like The Game and Midwich, while being survivor sided maps, have really uninteresting gameplay.

Yeah, but so many people have went to second stage because of the staircases on the map, or even died cause of it

Optimal strategy on Midwich is unironically to camp. You only have two chokepoints usually, yourself traversing the map to patrol gens is pointless, and survivors getting a save is difficult. Surv sided map for me though, but I think your best chance is to just camp and hope they're altruistic

The instant ADS however requires some FPS experience to be pulled off successfully with the frequency some people claim it's being pulled off.

And that's what I meant about learning what he can shoot through/over. So many people try to run him like they'd run Huntress, as if they believe doing so will suddenly change his ability.

Your average Deathslinger player will probably need about as long as a regular Huntress to ADS and shoot, the whole 'just have the surv in the middle of your screen' argument is pretty nonsensical (again, only pans out if someone has massive FPS experience).

And even giving him a definite wind-up time wouldn't do anything about the second point: people blatantly ignoring what his power can do. Like, the know he has a set range, the see the reload animation go through, and still they stand there as if they expect him to walk up and try to m1 them instead of using his power.

How long will people continue to call for his removal because he's 'unfun'?

    until he is changed, hopefully

  • Agitation is objectively better for transportation, and its qol benefit (faster than a surv) vs Iron Grasp's (reduced wiggle) is also better IMO, as well as the fact that if iron grasp were to have any impact, it means you took a really long time to hook anyways
