I miss the sadistic psychopath monster.
Some killer just want to spread havoc and indulge in their power over life and death.
Leatherface for example is just a canibalistic brute driven by lower instincts. In what category you would put someone like Jason or Myers?
They ain't driven by angelic voices of justice. They are evil incarnates. -

LF is one of the killer that benefits the least from BBQ and his chainsaw is pretty bad, since you have to piggyback ride the survivor to get him, because of the slowdown while revving.
And on top of that, most of his add ons are bugged and no Dev seem to care to fix anything.Which of his addons is bugged? I'm guessing you mean Chilis, but they actually work, it's just that their effect is not that great.
Or is there something I don't know about?I can't confirm it with hard facts. Just people (that I usually trust when they talk about gamemechanics) told me that his add ons are not working correct.
Maybe they fixed it, but still that wouldn't matter. LF will remain a low tier killer, because he can't bring anything useful to the table. -

Devs on camping

I don't think that that is necessarily the issue.. MOST matches up to level 10 are "Fun" and playable for everyone. Even the killer. However, as I and others are seeing more and more beyond level 10 killers just camp the surivvors and the gen spawn points are such lately that the killer doesn't even need to frigging move cause the gens are spawning in a circle radius around center point where he is at. So all huntress has to do is hook someone in center then just stand there. Camping is a problem at higher ranks BUT I think this is more an issue of balance than anything. Anytime devs nerf one side whether it be killer or survivor they fail to balance the other side.
What you are describing here is a SURVIVOR ISSUE.
THEY messed up the gen placement, when the repaired the gens and clustered them.
And survivor player will blame the killer for their mistakes. -
@CornChip said:
Oh i thought camping the hook now affected the emblem in one of the recent patches that lowered the amount of bp you can get at the end. And the emblem wasn't affected if another survivor was nearby. Wasn't that a thing recently?
It does not affect bloodpoints, just the emblempoints.
-
@CornChip said:
Increase the bp penalty for camping the hook to compensate.
There is none to "increase".

@The_Crusader said:
Seriously in a game where everyone complains gens get done too fast, here's an item + add ons which all increase repair speed moderately/considerably/tremendously.You have some games where you find someone quickly, down them in good time and a gen pops. Go find another guy, start a chase and two more pop. The only counter to early gen rush is ruin but not everybody has that. I only have it unlocked on two killers, one of which I don't use.
Like I said in these games it doesn't even take long to find someone or down them and yet still gens are pinging - and that's a good day. Imagine what it's like if the first guy DOES give you trouble.
Whats the alternative? just use Billy, zoom across the map and instadown people?
If the survivor know what they are doing THREE gens will be done by the time you get your first hook.
That's why killer dodge every lobby with more than 2 toolboxes. :P
-
Stop asking for free unhooks.
Stop asking killer to play stupid.
Why is the reward for unhooking so high? Maybe because it is meant to be risky?
Why are survivor so overconfident? Because the first 2 hooks do not mean anything.
Just play like EVERY hook "could be" your death!
You all want killer to play soft, while survivor are playing full tryhard.
Survivor "just do what is needed to survive", but when killer do what is "needed to kill", survivor ask for punishments.
Killer are not powerful enough to play according to some knightly codex.
And btw, killer are demonic psychopath serial killer… they are not meant to be "nice". -
How about survivor do not gain any bloodpoints if they do the same gen for more than 20 seconds?
And they have to switch the gen to get any points?
Or how about they start losing points if a chase is going longer than 30 seconds and they can't lose the killer?Doesn't sound fair?
Guess what: punishing for camping doesnt sound fair to me either. -

100% false otherwise they wouldn't have implemented that you lose rank points for camping.
It should be blood points that you lose though and actually tell them on screen since most tardo campers don't even look at the pip screen data.
Nope, YOU are false here. It was always an intended feature in the game. Check out the early dev streams for prove.
The only reason the Devs caved in and started giving penalties to killer for camping is because the crybaby survivor complains.
It's just survivor trying to get free unhooks, just like you.
The day killer lose bloodpoints for camping, killer wills top playing completely and leave you in your lobbies forever.
How about survivor lose bloodpoints for "camping gens"?
Would that sound fair?Weird that "intended parts of the game" have a distinct punishment involved..... sorry buddy they've made it clear as of now it isn't.
It doesn't become true just because you repeat it.
There are tons of streams and statements from the Devs that "camping" is part of the game.
So please stop lying. -

12 meters, although it might not seem much, is an enormous distance during a chase because the speed at which killers close the distance (in a straight line not counting the lunge) is only 0.6 m/s, so they would take 20 seconds to reach the survivor. Just for comparison, Sprint Burst gives survivors an advantage of 4.2 meters over 3 seconds and the killer can close that distance in 7 seconds for a total of 10 s.
Your suggestion would be a Dead Hard on (a lot of) steroids, simply broken.A lot of survivor player seem to be really bad at math.

-
That's what Noed and totems are about… but survivor don't like it.
Survivor asked for 2ndary objectives and when they got it, they want to be able to ignore it without consequences. -

Facecamping doesn't exist anymore.
Just because you can unhook from the side doesen't mean face camping ain't a thing
That's exactly THE thing.
"Facecamping" was an exploit and it is gone. Now facecamping is just a survivor combat term. -

I just dismiss to call that "vacuum", because that way people try to make it a real issue that would need any "fix" like the old "pallet vacuum". -

There is no such thing as "hook vacuum".Yes there is but its not what most people think. The "vacuum" comes from the Killer being "pushed" or "slid" into place so that the animation can line up. By all accounts you were in the right place when you activated the action but sometimes your character model needs to be adjusted to make the animation work so people view your model "sliding" or being "vacuumed" to the hook.
That's the point. It is NO "vacuum". It is just an animation brought in line. Some survivor still repeat the myth about a teleportlike vacuum effect from several meter away that would deny them their 100% wiggle or DS.
All that crap is either made up or just lag, but they call it "vacuum". -

It never worked "Properly".
Most of the time survivor didn't take damage even when they already ran for 2 seconds.
Or a hit that would hit the rescuer got soaked up by the rescued that was still invu. -

Now the event is over and I still have to wait for 15-20 minutes to get a lobby.
What's the excuse now?!? -

As for anyone STILL trying to argue over the term META: I defined it at the start of the post. Go make your own post with your own definitions. It's not uncommon for someone presenitng something to define the terms they use, and i did, i defined it in the first paragraph. I will flag any further comments to that effect.
So if you use a misleading definition that is not commonly used that way in this community you will just report anybody not agreeing with you to enforce your point of view and silence other?
Wow... that's low. -
This is getting to new all time lows…
Asking for BANS for "camping" and "tunneling"?
Can anybody be serious about this?
Can you imagine how often I got called a camper or tunneler without doing it in that match?
Not that I won't, but sometimes it si just always the same stupid survivor running into me over and over again, so I hook him 3 times in a row.
So you want to force killer to play stupid and give free unhooks and let everyone heal up? -
@AndreasLyUs said:
What do you think about it?

Just NO!
-
Every survivor main:
Camping and tunneling is unfair... mimimi.
This translates as: I want free unhooks and extra chances upon extra chances. I want to heal up uninterrupted. I want my 3
like in Super Mario.But:
Gen rush is "doing the survivors only objective".
Looping is "needed to survive"
And Noed is unfair, because "survivor shouldn't be forced to do totems". -
@BLUE_APE said:
You made points but gen rushing, camping, and looping is still bad game design.
You can't change that fact. I'm surprised the Devs haven't found a solution yet, this has topic has been going on for a long time, you'd think they would want to do something to stop it.But just for the record, your not justifide for camping if you were having trouble chasing one survivor (or tea bagging, and flashlight flickering) .
(unless you have actual proof they were hacking)
Because then it could just be that you are not the best at hitting survivors who can juke.
Or the survivor is just better at dodging.
Just to make sure your aware of that. Also you don't really get any mean or toxic messages at the end of the match, if you DON'T Camp.
You have the right to say GG, and not worry about being called a skill less noob.Oh look… we found the entitled survivor main. ^^

Camping works, because survivor make it work.

As a killer, there's generally only three situations where I camp.
* The doors are open. If I don't have any kills for the match yet, and the doors are open, chances are extremely high that I'm going to camp to secure at least one kill.
A survivor has really irritated me. If you're teabagging while looping, or popping a flashlight off in my face every time I break a pallet, in the event that I get you on a hook, I'm going to do my best to ensure you don't get off it.
Ready to pounce hook divers. If I can see the rest of your team hovering around the hook ready to dive in the moment I pick my nose, I'm not likely to venture far from the hook.
Unfortunately, all of those are pretty hard to avoid at times. Also, that's only true for the mid to low ranks. I think at the high ranks, inexperienced killers are more likely to camp kills because they don't realize how much it hurts them.
And all those are understandable.
The problem is it doesn't hurt killers in the green ranks. It wins them games. So they keep doing it. It starts to hinder them in purple ranks, but now they've unlocked NOED and maybe another end game perk to compensate for it. So they keep doing it.
They probably won't make it to red ranks but they don't care.
lol
Because of Noed.^^
Are you a Freddy main?
No, former Trapper main. Switched to Doc for a good while and right now I am playing Hag a lot.
But basically I switch between (almost) all killer regulary.
Since most killer are garbage at high ranks, I play the weaker killer only after the rank reset. -

Your right with all that, but for sure being forced to watch someone heal up his mate and being unable to do anything is the worst.
Followed by awake survivor tank hits for sleeping ones.
That last one is a bug and anyone who abuses that isn't skilled, they're just abusing a flaw that should not be intentional by the devs...if it was...da [BAD WORD] is wrong with them?
Did the Devs acknowledge this as a bug and are they working on it?
So far I haven't heard them talking about this and seeing that as an issue. -

In an asymetrical game, there is one side with the advantage in numbers and one in advantage of "power", that 2nd one is referred to as "the power role".
And an asymetrical game is "balanced" when all player from the numberous side combine are the same strength as the "power role". -

They are finally doing what is right and giving the power role...a little more power.
The exhaustion changes were amazing. The map reworks are fantastic, and the healing time being a bit longer is great.
They are doing some really good things. This game is close to being balanced overall. It's hard to say if it is... or isn't...
I'm happy with it.
It's all a step in the right direction, but it is far from being done.
I mean I would like more things to happen with this game, but I'm not going ot be picky. I like where it is. They don't need to even rework Freddy, they just need to let his blocks be stackable and change a few things.
He doesn't need a "rework".
Talking about Freddy... I know a lot of people ask for a complete rework, but not me. They just need to fix some stuff, like the exploit to heal downed victims without Freddy being able to do anything about it.
And awake survivor have to be removed from hitdetection, so they can't bodyblock.
Along with his power being an interrupt and wake ups during transition, I would be fine.
Freddy needs a rework. His view is way to dark. 7 seconds wait to interact with survivors is to long, cd after sleeping a survivor shouldn't exist, waking up is to easy, etc. Way to many things.
Freddy has to wait for 7 seconds each time he interacts with someone, but survivor freak out if healing takes 4 seconds longer.^^
doublestandard
I actually still like how Freddy has to be played, but his drawbacks are so harsh and he doesn't get much in return.

And not only generator repair. Healing, self-healing, sabotage, totems, all of that produce sounds, although not ultra loud, a good killer can spot a survivor because of these. Technician, while being a sweet perk, lacks of use, and this buff would make it a nice alternative in high rank when every detail matters. That buff would be on the same level as the Calm Spirit buff.
No reason behind it beside just some stupid buff to survivor for free.
How did Calm Spirit make them not scream?? Wouldn't that a buff needed for Iron Will?
So why should technician work for heals? Are survivor cyborgs now? -
But would make more sense :P

Using it as an acronym seems to be a pretty new trend.
Actually it is just the term for the most used tactic, because of it's effectivness.
So perks that are used every match are meta, because they are superior to the rest.
Mostly because they aren't situational in use. They just work EVERY time.In most other online games there are meta strategies with certain combos to use that are hype for a while until a counter to that meta is found.
Unfortunatly DBD is not that kind of game, because there is no real counterplay to certain strategies. -

I even checked some old forum posts and from the og billy mains i remember, most say carburettor + thompson mix is the best. Also every billy at highranks is using this combo and not primer bulb. Trust me, its better.

That are not different "metas", just some builds.
A perks is "meta" if it is used a lot, like most of the time.
Devs used to give stats about most used perks, but they stopped doing it.
So now we have to judge by our ingame experience, which is always subjective, because humans tend to remind the annoying stuff more than the other things.
So everyone remembers being DSD, but only a few really know how often they face UE.
Or for killer, everyone remembers being downed by Noed, but no one keeps track of the use of BS.For the last time. META doesn't mean "played by everyone" that's literally not what the word means. Also there was a lot more info there then "just some builds"
And for the final last time: Most of that stuff is played a lot by high ranked and followed streamers soo... probably fits your definition as well. Anyways, this will be the last reply you get from me
lol
So you make up your own definition of something and if someone disagree you insist on it and don't want to talk to the person anymore? Nice.^^Feel free to show your niche builds and call it whatever you want, but you have to deal with it, that your definition is not the one the majority of this community is using.
