Yea but this is the thing, I can agree with people on something, and disagree on others.

I hate dstrike, it's the dumbest [BAD WORD] perk in the game that can be nerfed into all eternity for all I care.

But when you get people who still want Self Care nerfed after healing in general has been nerfed, what are survivors supposed to do next? Spend 3 minutes self caring once?

And again you show your complete lack of understanding balance.^^
Self Care is still THE most OP perk in the game.

But feel free to ignore anything else I said and focus on DS.^^
Anyway, I am not the only one that already told you that games in general get balanced around good/top player, only Dbd isn't doing it, and guess what? Dbd balance is a mess and everyone is complaining about it. Make your own ideas about any connections.

the statistics on escapes vs deaths are irrelevant when you consider that you don't need to escape to win

Doesn't remove the fact that the main complaint from killers on this forum is how unbeatable and unkillable survivors are, when these statistics directly refute that, regardless of pipping or not pipping.

survivors are only unkillable when they are willing to be, most of the time they are not
that still doesn't change the fact that the room for abuse is still there

Yep, lets balance the game around the 1% of matches that have a 4Man Swat team on them.

Lets also balance the game around the 1% of killers that run noed and face camp.

Because that sounds FUN FOR EVERYONE.

I know it is a hard concept for you to grasp, but guess what? Basically ALL other games do exactly that.
    Balance from the top down.
That's how balance work. Every ability has to be balanced around "what can the best player do with that?"
That whole missconception of yours -and the Devs- is what brought the whole DS issue upon us.
"Oh the skillcheck is so hard, only good player can hit it, so let's make the effect very strong."
Yea, great, now the very good player also have a very strong perk as a force multiplier… very smart...not!
Dbd is the only game I know that balance around low rank/average skill player.

And now the next "fun" concept that is really dominant in this forum:
-Survivor should get balanced around average player
-Killer should get balanced around top player.
    Yay… doublestandards… what a surprise!^^

  • Oh I love those sweet little … stories.
All the player telling me they never camp, never tunnel, don't use meta perks, don't use Moris and get 4K anyway at rank 1.

Yeah, again, that's never ever a problem for me.

    Than your lucky.
My guess is that most killer player do suffer from corn blindness and only a few do not and the stats seem to support that idea.

  • @ChesterTheMolester said:

I once read about how that got fixed in the patch notes but im to lazy to look for it right now.

That shouldn't be the case right now.

It is never been "fixed". It works as intended, reducing the "stuntime", but it does not affect the "animationtime".For "just player" they thought it would be the whole process from getting hit to being able to move again, but for Devs these are different stages during the process and End only affects one, resulting in less reduction than expected by player.

  • Second.
The rest ist "animation time" and is not affected by Enduring.

  • Don't forget It was SenzuDuck telling us that healing at half the speed would take more than double the time.^^

  • Come on guys… stay real and stop making things up.
    I am honest here.
    SC!!!
    SB!!
    Bond
Alert (this last perk varies some times)

The first 3 are basically written in stone, unless I have to do a daily with a survivor who doesn't have those available.

  • But you started with blaming the killer.
And from my experience, the killer just learned it from the survivor.
Just like complaining on forum. :P

  • Survivor did the same before.

  • Survivor are so spoon fed now that they ask for more.
The exposed notification was a bullcrap idea in the first place.
If survivor are to oblivious to figure it out by themself they shouldn't get a notification to make up for being bad.
But now the survivor are so used to getting lead by the hand, that they want to know in advance and think it is justified and still see themself as "skillful".

  • "Natural setting"?
can you imagine the outrage if killer could adjust their brightness and FOV freely??

You know on second thoughts I agree with you guys. Thinking about how survivors walk around the map sometimes it would kind of nerf her. I tjink her traps are fine for chasing and getting the drop on survivors.

But damn if her camp game isn't too strong. Like if I play her I put 2 traps down near the hook. 1 near, 1 a bit further. This is more to scare the survivors off as I go chase someone else off a gen during this time.

But some hags use 5+ so they can super camp. Even leatherface would be amazed.

If a player uses her ability only to camp instead of controlling the map, he is weaken himself.

Playing Hag just to camp is not playing her to her best.

It is when 1 person sets off a trap - runs off

So 2nd person goes for save - hits a trap - runs off

3rd goes for save - hits a trap - runs off

Now you're on second stage, someone finally pulls you off and you either gotta crawl out knowing shes coming back to tunnel or run and hope for the best.

It always seems to happen. Everyone off gens just trying to get an unhook. Wouldnt be an issue with any other killer becauze rhey cant be camping and chasing someone off gens at the same time.

I feel like this is another issue that is hard for solo but easy for SWF. With friends you can just say "shes put down 4 traps, person 1 run through and trip them all, then person 2 come unhook.

Smart player can do the same.
I play solo survivor all the time and versus a Hag, I either crouch completely to the hook and back anyway, or I just run past it full speed to pop all traps and run away no matter what.

  • So in 2018 survivor still complain about a weak perk?
The killer plays basically all match with a perk without any effect until the last gen is done.
And if the survivor refused to do dull totems, the effect will trigger.
And worse of all, the effect can still get destroyed before anyone got hit, by destroying the shinning beacon called a hex.
Just last patch Noed was nerfed, but still survivor wnat it completely gutted again.
DS is still a meta perk, but Noed needs to get nerfed… totally Gotcha.^^

The hatch is a free safety net to rob killer of a deserved 4k and you guys are here to tell everyone that the mechanic that saves your rear for free is not punishing the good killer enough.

Good grief just stop, you're not entitled to a free kill. Get over it and go earn that 4th kill. The survivor isn't getting that for free, they have to actually make it in to escape. So you're not being robbed of anything, the only thing you're doing is continuing to show who's the entitled one entitled here.

If it was free then the survivors wouldn't have to do a single gen and they could walk out in the open slowly to the hatch and never get touched by the killer. That's what a free escape is, not you're heavily biased definition of it which isn't even remotely accurate.

    Hold your horses buddy.
I am neither "entitled" to it, nor is the 4k "free", because I actually worked for it as a killer.
On the other hand you feel perfectly fine to be "entitled" to a real "free" (the person that can jump the hatch does not have to have done anything) escape when you are the last survivor.
    That's a pretty harsh doublestandard.

It's kinda funny how you try to call me out for something you do at the very same post.
That doesn't make any sense to me and it is really hard to debate with you seriously if you can't see your own doublestandard.

In an asymetrical game, why do you think the solo player should be punished, just because the team has some bad members?

    He already made his point.
He does not want to! So he comes to the forum to ask the Devs to fix his lazyness .

"Lazyness", nice English. No laziness isn't an issue, but braindead teammates are. And no, I won't become the designated Small Game(r) and run across the map for several minutes trying to find all the totems while my team is getting slaughtered and no one is doing gens. Again, play without your little friends and see how it goes. Everyone here is either low-key getting off to this NOED buff because they're a bad killer or they're playing SWF and don't know it better.

Oh, you found a misspelling from someone ho is not a native speaker… wow, wanna try answer me in german and we see how good you are?

And guess what? I play 98% of my survivor games SOLO, so your "with your little friends" crap goes nowhere.
If all survivor just cleanse ONE (dull) totem, Noed won't be an issue in 99% of the matches.
You do not need to run around for ages to find all totems.
There is a pattern in their spawn and you should be able to find them pretty easy, without actively searching. I usually cleanse 2-3 dulls while looking for Ruin anyway. :P

I'm not a native speaker either and FYI my native tongue IS German. But to your luck I am very bad at it nowadays, so I'll have to decline your offer.

Anyways I think I made it clear that the issue is that my teammates do not cleanse the totems. I try to cleanse totems, but it's not possible for me to do all of them unless I have Small Game or look very carefully and waste several minutes doing so. Even with Small Game I'd need to run through the whole map and across it to check all spots. It's not something I can afford in half my matches because I am often one of the only people who do gens. So it's either I do gens and we get to endgame and get cheesed by NOED or I waste my time looking for totems and everyone dies with 2-3 gens left.
I'd rather work through perma-ruin than have to deal with NOED and baby killers every second match.

So again… your teammates suck and don't do their job?
And who do you wanna see punished for that?
    Oh... the killer, sure.^^
They CHOOSE to ignore totems, so they have to take the possible consequences.

Thats the problem. When medium vaulting you dont get as far as a fast vault after the animation. I have a video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Llz3K-wjSNo Im not a noob and know how to dogde hatches but not ANY survivor can dogde every single hatchet if its a good huntress. I also know how to fakedrop a pallet and know how to drop it and not, but i not feeling good when i get that broken hits trough a pallet or broken medium vault. I dont have the problems, but i know alot of other survivors have when they drop pallets and dont know how to fast vault.

The problem will be that they might give buffs to solo survivor, but without buffing the killer.

I'm giving BHVR the benefit of the doubt. I think they know not to screw that up because it would upset a fair portion of the community.

Not sure if this is a popular or unpopular opinion but I believe the hag right now is horrible to play against.

The problem is she's unbearable without Urban Evasion. Everyone knows most hags put down around 5 traps per hooked survivor. Its not just one next to the hook, they're spread about all around the hook in about a 15-20m area.

It can take forever to crouch walk towards the hook but outside of a co-ordinated 4 man SWF it's the only way to save someone.

Then once you unhook them you need to crouch walk away again. This can take like 30 seconds to get out of the area - when the Hag will already be running back to tunnel. This is extremely unfair on the hooked survivor and it makes the hags camping game far too strong.

Even with Urban Evasion she's still strong. Walking speed still makes it hard to unhook survivors. She's the only killer in the game who can force slow unhooks like this.

Therefore I propose that running still sets off her traps but walking doesn't. That way people are still slowed down but it's not nigh on impossible to stop a camp & tunnel without one specific perk - urban evasion.

Or at the very least, make it so that standing still doesnt set off her traps. So many times you get unhooked then because the person doesnt hold crouch at the same time as soon as the unhook animation ends it counts as them standing and it sets off a trap.

Is this supposed to be bait? Hag is balanced just right. Learn to face her.

He wants her back to her pre buff state of being pretty much useless.^^

  • @Aerys
Nothing you say makes anything I say untrue.
You just see it as a smaller issue, no matter how many use NM, the effect is the same, it just stacks up.
    It's a flawed design.

  • @Aerys said:
    @Wolf74
I'm aware it doesn't, but in a general sense saying No Mither is a counter to the Exposed status is loosely true, at least it seemed to be what you were arguing for.

NM is not countering exposed in any way, but it shifts the balance.
The killer "paid" balancewise in some way for his one shot ability and the survivor denies this ability by using NM. The effect is still the same, the survivor will go down anyway, but the survivor got additional effects, because he "paid" for it with the lose of a healthstate.

    See the issue now?
The survivor denies an ability that he paid for and get extra advantages from it.

  • Did you guys remember when Fire Up was announced and every one was ranting about it being the new go to meta perk in the future?^^

  • @Aerys said:
    @Wolf74
Surely you've heard of counter picking before yes? It's when someone picks a character or ability that works well against another known character/ability. First off though, you will likely never get a full team of No Mither users. Secondly, No Mither is a "counter" to Exposed Status perks and those sorts of Killers. In game design there is nothing innately wrong with that.

Also, I am a game developer, I know quite a bit about game design. That's why I'm saying No Mither is awful in its design and bad for a Survivor to take, I can't remember having seen someone with No Mither not get downed since it's so easy to do. Even if it's a counter to those perks, it's an awful counter to try making. Simply put, the benefits No Mither gives are in no way, shape, or form equal to the hindrance it comes with.

Unfortunatly DBD does not have this kind of "counter pick meta".
Survivor can counter anything that killer bring, but no killer can really counter survivor stuff.
If there would be a killer perk, that would completely negate SC EVERY killer would run it and survivor would switch to something else.
But that is nto the DBD reality.

so survivors have NO reason to expect to be able to escape. "If you got downed, you deserve to be hooked."

but if a killer gets you to the hook, they have every right to face camp you...

so... when playing survivor should we just go get some food or something while the killer has their fun??

    1. Yes, chances to escape AFTER you lost the chase are meant to be very slim.
    2. Looping isn't toxic, it is just exploiting.
    3. Facecamping doesn't exist anymore, but camping is legal and intended gameplay.
    4. I know it is hard for you guys, since you got spoon fed for 2 years, but "fun" is not exclusive to survivor player. Guess what, killer bought the game too and they are real human beings.
  • @Aerys said:
    @Wolf74
Logically speaking that isn't the case, they don't negate one shot abilities/the exposed debuff, they just make it unneeded on that Survivor in particular, that is to say that they still/now always go down in one hit. If all four players are running No Mither it's true that if you ran NOED or if you're The Shape your exposed debuff isn't needed to down them, but that doesn't take away from you in any way it only means that now ALL your actions down them, or rather that they're 100% under the effects of the exposed debuff at all times. So if you took an exposed status effect as a perk, you still end up having the intended effect of your perk happening and it's an even stronger effect that it would've had all thanks to the Survivor's perk choice.

Ok, another person that does not understand how gamedesign works.
If a killer has a strong power -like one shots- he gets balanced around that. His remaining aspects can't be to strong, because for balance reason. Now survivor pick a perk that makes his one shot useless, because the go down on any hit anyway and they gain bonuses for that in exchange, but the killer does not get a new power because his old isn't needed. He is stuck in his build of balance.
same is true for any one shot perk.
Think about a NM team, all run NM. And the killer uses Noed and MYC.
Those perks are balanced around the one shot and are basically useless in that scenario.

  • It's bugged and I hope the Devs are working on it.

  • Survivor are just skins.
It is just about their colorsceme and their voices.
Claudette and Adam take the cake, because … they are BLACK.
Pair that with their dark clothing options to get ninja stealth.

  • Dribbling: approved by the Devs, just like looping
Camping: intended gameplay from day one
Tunneling: playing efficient and denying benevolence (guess what, the killer is your enemy)
Hitboxes: are in favor of the survivor (you should have played 1,5 years ago, it was like auto aim, because the survivor hitboxes couldn't be missed and 360 didn't exist back than)

1 … 24 25 26 27 28 … 50
