Just pointing this out you can abandon when your the last survivor and when hatch is still open.
You don't have to play for hatch or the gates there is a double standard
No there is no real double standard as only time survivor can abandon in that point is if they and all other survivors are downed, on hook, escaped or already dead. Its mostly done match at that point even with hatch being open. Only thing needed to be fixed in that one is to make the abandoning option only appear after 10 seconds has gone past from the thing making the abandoning option become available. This would remove the main annoyance of them abandoning before killer gets the mori the last that they just downed and if they don't 10 seconds later the survivor can go. Its a quality of life change that should be done as currently how it works annoys one side of the player base.
-
Pointless as it would never work after survivors would know about it.

I have 8 p100s so far, takes pumping all the points you get on everyone you play into the 1 character only for as long as it takes lol. And yea i mean like a general top 5 on either side so we don't just see the obvious sable.
Yeah I know it takes putting everything on one character but as I don't really see the point in the p100'ing characters myself. It did not give anything originally and even with the new rewards its meh for me as I have already the icon I want to use. Still those that want to have something to get out of it too now.
For my own curiosity counted how many I would have if all prestige levels were counted together and it would be about 8 p100 characters, but I also never go for cheapest levels intentionally taking everything I can from the bloodweb with that would have way more.
-
As kit said as long as possible but if you manage to do 30 second chase you are doing your part as I would imagine most chases are under that.
-
Don't know but might be interesting to know but most likely Sable is the most.
I myself have none as I use the bloodpoints I gain on the character I am playing every time and as I chose characters I play randomly most of my characters are about same level in prestige.

It could be one time glitch sometimes there has been issues where the trap is not the same spot on all instances. Like when you play this game there is six instances game server, killer and four survivors all having their instances of how the match is. Some rare situations there can be something that causes some reason your instance get unsynched with the others so for you the trap is there for another its meter the other way. Like one of the most common one to see this kind of thing happening is with pallets. Sometimes in very rare instances the server might think that pallet was not dropped but on the client side on the person it did drop. So now when that survivor goes near the pallet and walks into it they will glitch through it or the others can just move through it with no problem.
So most likely your issue was one of these kind of instances where the data gets mismatched. This would need some testing to find out but as you seem to be only one so far recently to bring this kind of problem in the spotlight it at least is not the most known bug if it indeed is a bug.

Its been a wild back and forth with people claiming rats are either in ALL their games or HARDLY in the games.
This community is so inconsistant.
I dont doubt you had rats. But come on, 'Quite a lot of people called rats?' Please define 'Quite a lot', because I have no idea how you measure that as an individual. Once I know your definition, I think I might understand. Hopefully. <3
This is why I take any of these claims where people go "every match" or "many matches" without showing any recent match history for example as proof as them exaggerating to try to make their point more serious or valid as just hot air. Its quite human way of reaction to something you get annoyed about you start seeing it everywhere you start linking behavior to it and start jumping to conclusions without any real critical thought. Like lets say the person plays a match gets that behavior in it gets annoyed. They play few matches more nobody does that behavior but then they once again get a match where someone does it. They basically forget the matches in between and go "I see this all the time" and eventually it evolves "I see it in all matches" when it happens few more times.

It’s obvious you don’t know because you’re a Survivor who only plays one role and has no clue how to play Killer. Plus, you love winning easy. The Spirit wasn't touched for three years for the simple reason that she was perfect as she was—balanced. Against strong teams, you couldn't even kill everyone; at most, you'd get one or two against people who are actually good, coordinated on comms, and using proper builds for gen-rushing, hiding their aura, and anti-tunneling."
"The fact is, you don't know how to play, you don't know how to loop, and so you write nonsense here without any arguments. You are the ones without arguments, with zero realization that without Killers, this game is over. Also, let me point out that this is supposed to be a horror game that creates tension, but now there is zero tension: most Killers are just puppets to be trolled. That's all you care about—winning easy and trolling the Killer. What’s the satisfaction in trolling when winning is effortless because Killers aren't allowed to win? Learn how to use your perks, how to loop, and how to do gens. I play both Survivor and Killer, and the Killers were fine as they were."
Preach to the void man. You go at it.

Valid statement. I am currently taking a break as you're reading this, mainly I was looking to see if anyone else was experiencing the same thing as me. That's all. At the end of the day, we all get different games as you said.
Like it depends on the game session. I can have really annoying matches where I get tunnelers, campers, teammates making really bad choices etc., then I can have sessions where everything goes totally smoothly and I can have mixes of both in one. Its a flip of a coin as this is a game with four other players involved and you don't know what they are all playing the game for.

I completely agree and believe you. And fair enough, I do feel like everyone has different games. I just seem to be unlucky currently. I'm not looking for arguements, mainly validation as I want to know if I'm alone in this or not. And being honest, I'll most likely swap to killer as you suggested because the survivor role is also becoming a bad spot for me too.
If you want validation of course there is several people who think solo queue is the worst. There is like thread about it every month but in the end there is also those like me who say there is nothing different in solo or SWF on what kind of killer tactics killers use. People play how they want and thats how its going to be always.
Of course this is something you might have heard before but if you are feeling like you don't enjoy playing the game then maybe you need to take a break and play some other games. I take breaks of this game time to time myself.

Difference with solo queue and swf, you can actually communicate in an swf whereas in solo queue you cannot. And also I find less killers who would slug or tunnel when in an swf whereas in solo queue, it's common.
They don't know who is SWF and who isn't so they do it to both.

I'm not bothered about winning or losing, I'm more bothered when either your teammates don't play properly and decide to hand themselves to the killer, you end up becoming the target for most of the match, OR you just get slugged for the vast majority of the match. Like as you said, all games have different results. But what I mean is the fact that my games have been terrible.
You think that does not happen to people who play SWF they have the same chance of getting killers who do those tactics as all the rest.

Killers have an abandon feature? Since when??? I never, ever, ever, ever had one before.
There is two option for killers to abandon. No gen getting finished in 10 minutes or all survivor are bots. Those have been in the game since abandoning option was added. They just made it way too easy to for survivors to get to abandon so you see it more.
-
Ok so you have two matches that are fine and two that have something to go wrong how does this correlate of solo queue being worse? Are you expecting all matches to be some how ok? Sometimes ######### happens and its normal.
-
@BalanceIsNonexistent said:
It's extraordinary to see how one sided most people's perception are. I am all for giving the abandon feature for killers. Hate me, idc.
Killers already have abandon feature in use but I don't see why this one would needed to be added. Still I am also in that opinion that there needs to be 10 second grace period before abandon option comes available to remove the insta abandonings that happen with current system and can cause abandonings when it was yet even necessary to do so. That 10 seconds gives the time of the assess the situation and would remove the pointless abandonings that happen in the end of the match when last survivor is downed even if they are going to be moried in few seconds. That would be way better benefit for killers than this suggestion.
-
And again what are you on about people have told you Spirit has not got a change in three years. Spirit is the 11th most picked killer in this game by nightlight and there is 42 killers in the game so seems quite popular and I see her quiet often. I also play her sometimes and do decently with her. Her kill rate by the site is 46.66%. Still that site does not record all the matches but it gives decent picture of her popularity.
Still you should not claim something of someone you don't know but have to admit I did not really expect much more.

I think you’re just like 99% of Survivors who don’t know how to play and just want an easy win. It’s nice, isn’t it? Repairing generators while sipping tea, having a coffee, and even smoking a cigarette while chatting in the stream. You’re the one living outside of reality. Go watch the videos of Pro Players playing Survivor; they play DBD specifically so they can interact with their chat peacefully. Exactly because it’s not frantic anymore. The game has completely lost its meaning: a game that should create tension, chases, and jumpscares has become a completely "chill" experience. Go have a cup of tea.
and what does this rant have to do with my statement or your original statement that had nothing correct in it?

I have almost never encountered such a playstyle with Distortion around. And nerfing Distortion into uselessness does not even change anything, it just means that players who want to play that stealthy spend more time in Lockers.
I saw it maybe once or twice of people sneaking around from the start not touching gens with the old Distortion but yes really rare but as I have observed when someone complains about something its happening to them all the time, every match and even when they are sleeping.

I don't think the programming allows them to easily count when X survivors are X meters from the gate. It would be implemented easier to trigger when the exit gates are powered since the perk code for Adrenaline already checks for that … which does change the conversation topic … but only by a bit.
Should Killers be able to DC for free if the exit gate is powered? I personally don't see why not. The game has effectively ended by that point even if the usual endgame scenarios gift you a free kill or two.
It would ruin most challenges where you need to escape if killer could just decide to end the match before they get out of the gate.

Punishing people because they had a bad run and are facing their tenth loss of a session or something isn't helpful to the game. Neither is banning your players. People have bad moments, especially in a game where the match is often decided in the killers favor 1 minute in. We could just try to make the game more rewarding and less frustrating but God forbid we change a single thing that could infiringe on the killer power trip fantasy. They can't even update mediocre perks or mechanics without the CCs and all their zombie followers crashing out daily.
Have to admit that if you give up on first hook the match is noway on killers side. You can win any match in any situation it depends on what happens in the match. I have seen way many times people to throw matches that are totally winnable just because they get unlucky at the start.

@Dinadin said:
How is it rat bevaviour if survivors can play stealthy?
Because they blame the perks and project playing styles on them. Some people thought that anyone running Distortion before was a rat when killers are lazy and run aura perks to find survivors to chase and not really do any patrolling gens. They just go where they see aura. Like the Distortion player can sit on the gen fixing them the whole match and doing hook saves and still get called what ever others want because some people still would claim them to be rats. In this game stealth is part of the gameplay and if the killer can't find you its not your fault and even if you watch all top content creators they will stealth until the killer finds them if they are not doing chase content. Like why are you allowing yourself to be found without any effort from the killer why is it your fault that he uses aura perks that you want to counter. My opinion is that Windows of Opportunity has always been bigger problem and way worse for the killer than Distortion ever was but Distortion was the one that got the blame because it was the easier for killers to see the effect while playing. Then also causing survivor players get annoyed because they saw someone hiding from the killer with the perk even if they were playing and fixing gens. Quite many people have this picture of the game its chase simulator where you need to be chased by the killer and not try to avoid them ever if you don't get chase or the killer some reason leaves you every time you loop him for a time you are hiding and not doing your part.

Self-preservation is gonna be the next distortion. These perks are not healthy for the game, why can't BHVR understand this.
I have always disagreed the lengths of the nerf they did to Distortion as for my opinion it was never a real problem. It was just the thing that got blamed of peoples playing styles and have to admit it was also made way bigger issue than it really was but that is how this community works something gets blamed for something and when its complained enough its eventually gets nerfed to the ground. I was always advocating to tie the Distortions token gain to gen progress but it got tied to chase time and in the end that just made the perk mostly useless.
They already added the afk crows to the game Distortion does not deserve to be in the state that it is currently. Self-Preservation is interesting and I like to see where it leads but there needs to be some counters to killer aura reads other than hiding in lockers or running the now significantly nerfed Distortion.
-
Only if they add more infection removals then as this would get really old when they would be fast the whole match because there is only four syringes per match.

I'm curious since I've never played him and always find him difficult to go against. Why do you think indoor maps are the worst for him? I always assumed the opposite.
Its the line of sight on the pods. You usually benefit more on maps that are open to use them effectively and it also makes it harder to disable them when you can place them higher. He is not bad in indoor maps where you have chokepoints but in The Game and Lery's there is way too many ways to move around so you can't have pods on all those places and if survivor knows where it is they can just go around. Its also easier to disable the pods as you have to place them lower as there is not that much elevation in indoor maps. Another thing is that he also relies on line of sight to use the teleport and in indoor maps its easier to get around objects and walls to prevent him from using it.
-
I saw people dodge lobbies and I think it has nothing to do with the survivor you are playing its just them doing it for what ever reason they think its good for them. Most of the time its just petty reasons that don't make sense for most people.
-
I think this guy has been dreaming or came from alternate reality where Spirit was all that he said in his post. I don't know any other reasonable explanation.
-
Another thing that needs to be fixed is that it seems generator aura is blocking auras of survivors that are on the side of the gen you are looking at. Like I have nothing against the generator blocking it if they are behind it and only showing the parts that are not but they should not be invisible if they are in front of the generator. Noticed this in one match where I could see the aura of a survivor leg that was not in front of the gen in question but could not see the rest of him at all when his aura should be visible when he is on the same side of the gen than where I am looking.
-
I does reveal the one that you ate last but yeah it is not working correctly and it is already reported three days ago.

Unironically RPD is the only indoor map I haven't gotten yet. It's just been Lery's, Hawkins, The Game and Midwich with one Autohaven in between them all.
Also if you get the third gen in the library you can do the same in there too.

Updated list it now has 50 matches so 10 more.
The Game = 5 (given by offering = 1) (+1)
Nostromo Wreckage = 4 (+1)
The Pale Rose = 4
The Shattered Square = 4 (+1)
The Underground Complex = 4
Badham Preschool I = 3 (+1)
Midwich Elementary School = 3 (+1)
Toba Landing = 3
Coal Tower = 2
Eyrie of Crows = 2
Garden of Joy = 2 (+1)

Ormond Lake Mine = 1
Raccoon City Police Station West Wing = 1
The Temple of Purgation = 1
Torment Creek = 1
Trickster's Delusion = 1 (+1)
Wrecker's Yard = 1Still seems to RNG the maps quite good. Did not get a repeat in the new 10 matches at all and got the new map in the normal queue too.

@ErebusSurge said:
Lets compromise. Nerf fast track on the condition we get rid of lethal pursuer and BBQ and nowhere to hide becomes a single use perk. Problem solved.
Lethal and BBQ are not problems at all. You currently even can counter BBQ totally by running Self-Preservation as it now gives you Elusive when survivor is hooked so your aura is not shown to the killer. My opinion has always been that Nowhere to Hide should work like Wiretap and only reveal auras around the gen for a its duration not be "I walk half a map and see survivors who had nothing to do with the gen too" as it currently operates.
-
Just to add to the other post this game has about 20k more players currently than it had last year and that is just on Steam so saying this game is dying is not supported by any visible indicator other than people telling it is on forums and discussion boards for years already.
-
Bring back the flavor text on those that are missing them otherwise its good.
-
Crows spawn on objects and the ground around the map and are static to those spots the whole match. They get startled by most fast actions including walking and sounds causing them to fly up to the sky and they return after 15 seconds have gone by. Crouching is the only way to be close to them without them getting startled. They are one good way of seeing what direction someone went or if you see one fly up you know there was someone there that startled it as they don't randomly fly up. I quite often do use them as killer to pin point survivors put its quite often map dependent as indoor maps you rarely can see them fly up but most outside maps that you have good visibility you can use them to find survivors or as survivor maybe see where the killer is coming before you see him. Sometimes you can find the last survivor hiding in some area when they accidentally scare a crow for example. Crows are just one of the tools you can use to gain information on both sides in this game.
-
They need to add 10 second grace period before the abandon option comes available after the requirement is met but still I don't like to waste more of the other survivors time to carry them to a hook to show them mori.
-
Singularity is really strong in RPD one of the best maps for it as you can just fortify the main with pods on top and survivors are going to have hard time disabling those as you can't get them with one EMP. Just defend the middle two gens and pick the closest third gen and you are usually going to win if you don't overcommit.
-
@Reinami said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4065574#Comment_4065574
That's how it is now with survivors already.
Thats why that needs to be fixed by adding 10 seconds grace period before the abandon option appears so they can't abandon right away.
-
I would say its quite balanced at least my matches of deaths and escapes have been quite even and all of the few killer matches I played on that map were all 3k's and those were all random builds so I was not even stacking the deck.
-
Updated list it now has 40 matches so 13 more.
The Game = 4 (offering used to get = 1)
The Pale Rose = 4 (+2)
The Underground Complex = 4 (+2)
Nostromo Wreckage = 3 (+1)
The Shattered Square = 3 (+2)
Toba Landing = 3 (+1)
Badham Preschool I = 2 (+1)
Coal Tower = 2 (+1)
Eyrie of Crows = 2
Midwich Elementary School = 2
Treatment Theater = 2
Azarov’s Resting Place = 1 (+1)
Garden of Joy = 1
Gas Haven = 1
Ormond Lake Mine = 1 (+1)
Raccoon City Police Station East Wing = 1
Raccoon City Police Station West Wing = 1
The Temple of Purgation = 1
Torment Creek = 1 (+1)
Wrecker's Yard = 1So now top place is shared by The Game, The Pale Rose and The Underground Complex. Still quite even but the weighted maps are more common but never in a row and closest I have got the same map in the row is after four matches funny part is that I got The Shattered Square, The Underground Complex and The Pale Rose in the same order twice but there was four matches in a row that were in different maps before that three repeated.

Another thing. Tunneling isn't just specifically "Go after one person until they die", just hooking someone 3 times in a row counts as tunneling. Hooking someone, then hooking someone else, then tunneling out the previous hooked survivor is also tunneling. This is not to say "Tunneling bad ):<", same way I don't (At least I don't mean to) say "Gen rush bad ):<".
Yeah I know I call that semi-tunneling most people just don't agree with that statement to them tunneling is hard tunneling not what you are describing but still even that tactic can cost you as you will not pressure others and they can do what they want.

Please calm down you seem a tad bit worked up here. Sorry you feel that way.
The thing is, it does benefit them though, that's why they keep doing it. Sometimes they commit way too hard to the tunneling, but there are a lot of killers who know how and when to tunnel and keep the pressure up. A bad way to tunnel is going out of your way to SEEK out one survivor, a good way is to put pressure until you see the survivor. Camping is another thing that can help and also slugging.
How many matches have you seen where the killer wins because they equally spread hooks among everyone? Not incredibly often right? Only S-tier killers can really play like that.
Do you play killer btw?Ok but there is no emotion behind my statement if you read something in it then you are projecting your own feelings into it or something. I already explained that it does not really do that it only works on certain cases like any tactic can but in the long run they will not win with it constantly its not tactic that can keep you winning even how much some people might think so. I don't really get what you try to say with your good tunneling example as how can you be tunneling and then not tunneling? Either you tunnel or you don't there is no inbetween.
I win by that myself quite often have had no problems with it. Just play the game and it happens. Are you trying to rile me up as first you claim I am emotional and now question if I play killer? I don't really care either way but my statement stands and anything you just said did not really make a dent to it.

To the first part. Isn't that like objectively false? I am not trying to be rude but like… gen speeds are a big issue in DBD.
Like… it's the reason killers tunnel and slug now. That or they are toxic but saying the majority of tunneling/slugging killers do it to be toxic is just simply ignorance.
Don't get me wrong I am not saying "Survivor doing gen fast is bad and evil and toxic grrr ):<". But also having 3 gens pop in back to back in the first chase right after the first injure is just kind of absurd, especially when the chase started in the first seconds of the trial.Except tunneling does no way help them. I have seen so many tunneling killers who lose the match because they keep chasing one guy and the others just fix the gens. If they never do any pressure on gens so of course the gens will fly. Tunneling is not a solution to it and its just an excuse for people who want to justify why they tunnel. They could have the backbone to just do the tunneling and not invent reasons why they do it when in reality they are doing it because they want to do it no other real reason. They make the intentional choice to do it so just own it no need to claim there really is some reason to it. Its also interesting when they run perks that would help them if they spread the hooks like Pain Resonance but as they keep chasing the same guy they don't really get value out of it.

Im trying to get help from Behavior. Because if it was a Internet problem then it would be all games.
I hope I didn't lose my P53 Unknown. I would just Quit if thats the Case. I spent alot of time on him and now all that time is all for nothing. Oh and the money I put into the game to.
You don't lose account data like your survivors and that as thats handled on the server side. The things that get saved on your end are like your game settings like control configuration and graphical settings. Even if you would lose those its nothing you can't fix quite easily.
