If you know he’s going to do that why even do the action? Look to get healed first
But yeah tunnelling killers suck especially when it’s at 5 gens
Killer behavior is not gated behind the number of generators remaining.
This community mindset is getting old: "But at 5 gens?!"
You never see people say "Really? Doubling up on gens? At 0 hooks?"
-
You lost me at "100% guaranteed kill". I'm sick of this mentality.
-
Tunneling is anytime you chase a Survivor for more than 30 seconds, or if you hook the same Survivor more than once.

Drives me crazy too, why are you searching boxes nothing but trash in there. What ever you get is not as useful as just getting on a gen
So you have NEVER done a chest opening tome challenge?

Really thanks for this insane nerf guys. You did a pretty good job. You nerfed the most broken killer that she can't use exposed perks anymore. Now she is reeeeeeaaaaallllyyyy balanced :) Let's just forget the part that she still ignores the game mechanics and that someone who plays her for longer then 30 minutes can still win most games undeserved and that she got New broken addons now :D
Many things in this game "ignore game mechanics", dude.
Huntress ignores having to get in close.
Nemesis ignores the protection of an immediate pallet drop.
Plague ignores healing and medkits.
Artist bird's can reveal Survivors on gens and go through walls and solid objects.
Wraith and Ghostface can remove the terror radius.
And so on, and so on, and so on.... /Waynecampbell.gif

Anything with Off the Record. The perk is broken. I have seen some people use OTR + DH + DS and it is just miserable to play against.
Other than that Sprint Burst + Prove Thyself players also piss me off since all they do is gens.
What... else are they supposed to do? That... that's their job.
-
Imagine thinking the killer needs to pick you up and calling it "sportsmanship".
-
Now when you are getting chased, and run the killers for 3 straight minutes, you won't have to worry the other Survivors are not doing gens - you'll know they are not doing gens!

There is untouched grass in your area.

You would be surprised how many people dislike hit-and-run simply because it discourages getting into actual chases. And with Legion, it's extra annoying because the Survivor is forced to mend at many points in the match.
Pretty sure all of that is the point.

Its so sad to see that so many people think or know that Freddy has reached the floor of the Tierlist 😭😭😭
This is a man that had his movement speed slowed when using his snare.
I mean wut.

Usually when people mention SWF I say this :
Add the rule that no perk offering character or item can be repeated.
Lock everything but costume choices in queue.
Now 2 man SWFs have almost no penalty and big groups get a moderate penalty. That would be fair.
I really feel like this should have an MMR cap.
As I said, my friends are AWFUL. Like, last less than 12 seconds in chase, terrible.
-
Developers have gone on record as saying they are hesitant to make more emotes because they do not want to create more ways for Survivors to taunt the Killer.
-

Counter Trade offer:
SWF gets matched with high priority against Blight and Nurse.
Solo queue players get all the other killers.
Blight and Nurse play only large maps. All the other killers play maps no larger than 9500m².
The problem with this is it implies SWF means good. My friends are terrible at this game. So if we wanna play we have to all face Blights? That is hardly fair.
-
I feel like it is not fair to say Killer is too powerful when you realize that statement is covering both Freddy and Blight.
We have 30 killers and they are not all on the same level.

You generalize way too much my friend.
Not really. The entire culture of this game has shifted away from the intended hide and seek, and moved into tag.
Before you were supposed to avoid the killer at all costs. Now players want to "interact" with the killer, then get mad when the person designed to take you down does so, then demand "counterplay" for said downing.

Sorry this is the biggest loads of codswallop I've ever read, starstruck more than eruption? I see starstruck, once in a few hours, IF THAT. Eruption multiple times an hour, I dont believe you. As I already said, unless I have a crystal ball to pull out my ass to know when my teammate goes down how tf am I supposed to know when to let go? Oh sorry, my bad let me study telepathy. Nonsense.
I don't really care if you believe me. All I know is Wesker / Starstruck is super hot right now and even when Eruption does show up that doesn't mean I get hit by it.
-
No.
-
This is the only thing in this game to literally make me scream.
We call it "locker vacuum" and it is total garbage. I want all locker entry disabled unless you are FACING the locker. I have this problem a lot when lockers spawn in the little room in the cowshed that sometimes spawns the basement. They put lockers right next to the window. You can run into that area, run for the window, hit space bar, and then get sucked BACKWARD into a locker.

Look at those and tell me they don’t look wildly out of place.
Mr Puddles not being seen as scary is the entire point of the costume. He’s still a homicidal psychopath carrying around severed and licked fingers.
Same for Robbie, although I have a hunch they were a specific request from Konami.
I’ll give you the AoT collection, but even then that kind of thing happened once. (Or twice if we’re counting the CryptTV collection too.)
Dwelves exist. And Bunny Feng.
-
Did I seriously just see someone put down that "hit and run playstyle" is filed under "poorly designed"?
Isn't hit and run the opposite of tunnelling? Isn't that what people want? Make this make sense.
-
Edit: Double Post.
-
I don't understand all this Eruption misery. I really don't.
I get Incapacitated by Eruption like, twice a week. Maybe. At most. People are acting like they are eating in several times a match, in every match.
I get hit with Starstruck more than I get hit with Eruption.
-
Because Survivors are obsessed with "counterplay" and they want to be able to just press a button to dodge it the way you can crouch a Huntress. Since he has a barrage of knives, they have to break line of sight. And they don't like that.

Waiting is not a skill. Knowing when you have to wait is.
And being patient and waiting 30 seconds hiding for Starstruck to run off instead of launching yourself in front of the killer like a headless chicken is, at minimum, the smart thing to do.
Smart? Yes.
Skilled? No.
-
After Deathslinger was nerfed into dirt due to his "free" zoning (I will never not hate that word in this community) and made to feel like he is constantly in some sort of laggy slow motion, I feel like Huntress is better than him in every possible way.
-
As a Survivor I hate it when a Killer runs Iron Grasp. There's nothing overpowered about the perk, I just know there's no point in Wiggling, and yet if I don't Wiggle I am worried he will get some optimal hook placement anywhere on the map, or trigger a Scourge hook. So it makes the whole exercise feel pointless.
As a Killer I hate it when a Survivor runs Adrenaline. Mostly because it tends to happen right when I feel like I've earned a chase, and then I'm robbed of it at the last second and they zip away to an exit gate their buddy is already on.

It never had much meaning really. Original DS, MoM, and DH were about it.
I'd be willing to add Deliverance to the list, though I think the perk should work on second hook.

Precluding timing from the idea of skill is patently ridiculous. Come on. I can't think of any skill expression in any game that doesn't require you to wait after some fashion.
Note that I'm also not mentioning dead hard in this argument. That's a fundamentally flawed perk. Waiting can be important though. You wait for the beginning of the hook animation to avoid DMS and pain res, for example. It's part of what makes one skilled at the game.
Timing is not the same thing as waiting. Time is dodging, or getting that weapon point when the shield drops.
Not the same thing as "Just stand around for 20 seconds, 4head."
-
@YOURFRIEND said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3323406#Comment_3323406
It can be a component of skill. Not the thing entire, but part of it.
No, it isn't. Any game mechanic that requires you to sit and do nothing is not a skill. This is bad as "Just wait it out" as an excuse for dealing with Dead Hard.
-
@SmolBlob said:
Wait 30s. Skill issue.
Here we see the continued mindset of "Waiting is a skill".

So what I have learned from this thread is we are just throwing out the meaning of the phrase "second chance perk" entirely. It has lost all meaning.

I do not see anything realistic in these statistics
1 hook is always at least -2 generators
and by the way, where is the hyperfocus in statistics that allows you to make solo generator in 60 seconds?
You've never won a game with 5 gens still up before?
-
If "unfun to play against" is being considered a serious argument I have a large Santa Clause style scroll of things I wanted removed from the game....

It doesn't matter in that sense. I just want prezzies. After all, they touched my gens and DBD is not consent.
Unlike all that consensual aggravated assault!

Survivors are only nice to me if I meme and let them live.
I've never played a game the way I typically would and have a survivor ever say anything nice to me.

i’d expect AI to actually know whats going on atleast, the amount of times i’ve watched the bots get stuck on random things or avoid every nearby pallet to resort to a Z-Wall is something that should be studied
Sounds like normal solo queue to me.

They feel like AI because they are AI.
Do you think BHVR has human brains in jars connected to servers to run these?

I'm not in the "Eruption must be killed with fire" camp, but man it sure does get boring when every game as Surv you're going up against same old Eruption+CoB+Pain Res
9/10 killers are running this build, it's at the point you know in advance what you'll be facing when you're loading into the game. Makes one wonder how much money Eruption brought in as incentive to buy the DLC, huh? Probably not as much as Feng, but still
I've been playing since 2017, and never before have the Killer's perks in any given game been so predictable.
So you just completely brain erased the era of Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer?
-
That would be worse than old Dead Hard. Guaranteed distance AND you don't need to be hurt?
Even Sluzzy wouldn't dare.

2 months. I am not saying all meta has to be changed. I am saying things like Nurse and pretty much all of the old survivor meta should be nerfed decently just for the fact that it's been 6 years they have been at the top. But like I said I come from league(which is infinitely harder to balance than dbd) and nothing stays at the top for more than a year, but those are rarity's. But I don't think it's any different in this game. People tend to run meta at all ranks because they naturally want to win, but when it's the same for so long the game gets stale. I think people on both sides getting conditioned by perks due to how long they stay so impactful is wack.
If you mean behavior in game like "You need to wait out every attack because they MIGHT have Dead Hard even though it may not even exist in this game", then yes, that sort of thing needs to die.
-
@Sava18 said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3322128#Comment_3322128
?
So because they have been really slow in the past, that means it's reasonable for them to take over 6 months every single time to do a real perk balance patch? Especially when half the perks are just going to receive number changes. Think about it like this: if you have two people dedicating all their time to coming up with changes and two people implementing them into a in house test build it literally cannot take 6 months to rework 10 perks and change 10 others at the very least. Mind you bhvr has expanded quite a bit.
Exactly how often do you think we need the perk balance overhauled?
-
@Sava18 said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3322112#Comment_3322112
I do. That's the issue.
So why is six months a big deal?
-
@Sava18 said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3322071#Comment_3322071
Not for this extended amount of time though. 2 Months and they are taking their sweet time, 6 months and they are just being just being lazy. A year or more and they are actively going out of their way to not change the meta. There is a reason league has been and continues to be the biggest game in the world and it's due to their two week patch cycle.
Do you have any idea how long it took for them to take the distance off of Dead Hard? Or take down the 100% on Iron Will?
-
There will always be a META.
There always be a flavor of the week/month/year selections in any game. Especially a live service game.
-
Assuming we actually did what you suggested, I think the player base would tank.
You want a game with two minute gens that nobody can use perks to change in any way, and then take away second chance perks away from everyone?
