Dead Hard will activate after safely unhooking a Survivor. When activated, press the active ability button while injured and running to gain the Endurance Status Effect for 0.5 seconds, then become Exhausted. Dead Hard will deactivate when it successfully protects the user from damage.
Why are you nerfing a already bad perk? Now it can't be used for half the game... no more end game use no more early game use. Like this perk has such a huge limitation on its usage that you might aswell not even use it at all.
I play both rolls and never had a problem with DH if I saw one had it I would just switch up my hit timing ... I'm confused on why it was nerf to unusable
"Really bad perks" are not brought into every single game.

People stunning you with Head On and blinding you with a flashlight is not "bullying" dude, give me a break. To pretend that you're getting "bullied" here is an insult to anyone that ever had to endure real, actual bullying. It's people using some corny build to try to have fun interactions with you in a video game; and by your own admission, isn't even particularly effective.
Camping and tunneling are considered "scummy" because the person getting camped and tunneled, typically just don't get to play the game. You getting stunned and blinded isn't preventing you from playing the game; and I honestly doubt you encounter full groups of people doing this often enough to even justify complaining about it in the first place.
The victim complex is insufferable. Touch grass, for real.
By your logic punching kids on the playground instead of doing your homework is just "interacting with other students". Enough with the euphemisms.
Doing coordinated Head-On stuns is bullying because your goal is to screw with the Killer. Period.

You raise an interesting question.
Can you be "bullied" in a game that you won?
You 100% can.
I had a game last night on the Borgo playing Sharp Hand Joe. I won, but only after almost 20 minutes of the most grueling beamer squading, Flashbanging, double Head-On coordinated stun gameplay I've ever had to suffer through.
Just because they cared more about making me miserable than their win condition doesn't mean it was not absolutely bullying.

I find it disturbing that you think Head On and flashlights are "bullying". I find the whole victim complex most killer mains have, so tiresome.
It is bullying. Straight up, full stop. You are not trying to do your objective. You are not trying to end the game. You are actively going out of your way to make the killer as miserable as humanly possible.
It boggles me that camping and tunneling are considered "scummy", despite them being the killer's objective... but deliberately trying to Head On/Beamer them as many time as possible is just "memeing".
-
Considering the chains cannot down, I don't see why not. Make the chains base kit, and then make the ACTUAL chains allow you to down on them.
-
I saw we keep this Freddy as is, then release a new chapter Freddy with the Classic Freddy license using his old kit and get Robert to come do his voice lines a la Wesker and Pinhead.

I do not care about other people's fun in a game where we go head to head in a directly competitive fashion.
That said, I do not go out of my way to make you miserable.

Is playing to have fun, instead of optimizing the easiest win and making the most boring matches possible, off the table?
Fun for me is getting downs. When you say "No one wants to commit to a chase", what you mean is I won't leave this gen at 70% completion so you can run me for over a full minute while three other gens pop.
Committing to chases is not fun as killer. It's, as someone on these forums recently put it excellently: "pallet tour extravaganza". It's me being led to chained tiles where I kick pallet after pallet after pallet after pallet. That's not fun for me.
I do find it disturbing you think a double head on bully build with flashlights is just "memeing" around with the killer. I'd honestly rather get gen rushed.

Knight brings the salt for sure.
Some people use him to camp gens, I use him to camp hooks.
Like Twins, he is a killer I unironically use forced penance on. Kinda like Hag his main issue is getting a hook to camp in the first place but from there you are usually golden. When the team is injured it's impossible to save against him and he can camp with impunity; from a long enough distance to even counter reassurance sometimes
I usually kick off a match using the Carnifex to break a wall, or I just dump him out. Then I have the assassin for the first chase and and I try to get the first damage with the assassin since he counters crutch hard
Ah, yes. The dreaded -rep.
Wait, why do we care about this again?

Yes, yes we are. This perk gives every survivor botany knowledge without medkit penalty and also a bit slower than normal self heal. One COH can change very easy game for killer into the missery. Killers that benefits from hit and run tactic (Wraith. Sadako, Dredge, Freddy etc.) are countered by this perk but Nurse and Blight don't care about it, they are simply too strong.
It is broken perk and argument "I don't see it so often anymore, maybe one or two perk game" is not valid, this is 1 perk for 4 survivors
I...... guess. I feel like Dead Hard does way more damage.

Killer is in a completely terrible state right now if you are playing at high MMR.
I have a request for you and the entire DBD staff : play killer for a month with a 3000 MMR account that can't lose any mmr (if necessary have the accounts have the MMR reset daily).
The rules for the challenge are as follows :
- You may not play Nurse/Blight.
- You may not only play killers with only their best addons. Imagine you get 1 of each addon and then you have to go through all the other addons before your "good addons" reset. ( There is one exception: you are allowed to play Michael Myers with either purple tombstone or infinite T3 because he is unplayable without one addon or the other).
See how much fun you have.
"Would it be cool to know? Yes. Would it be beneficial? I'm not quite convinced"
After hundreds of matching tests in my own game I have concluded the following:
- Playing against SWF is not fun and is more frustrating
- Playing against SWF gives me harder matches and fewer points
- Items make survivors stronger - so I should play people who bring fewer items
- Killer queue times are instant so I can be very selective about who I play against.
- I have the most fair matches when all the survivors are playing alone.
Conclusion:
I should do my best to play against SWF players as infrequently as possible.
When someone is in my lobby with TTV I immediately open their stream to see if they are solo or SWF. Not Queen determined years ago this was not against the rules. Yes I will attempt to also see their perks. Why? Because playing killer is getting less fun all the time.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3329309#Comment_3329309
The majority of my matches are SWF. I know this because I look at the profile of everyone who comes into my game. I do not play anyone who is playing 3/4 man SWF anymore- unless they are under a certain number of hours. Before this patch playing against 2x 2 man SWF teams was somewhat bearable. But now everyone is more efficient and it feels like every game is against a 4 man SWF.
When I play DBD I am selective with my lobbies. I do not play vs 4 medkits (unless I am playing Plague) because I can't know if they are brown or purple .
When I see people come in to my lobby I can tell if they are solo or in a group depending on when they come in/leave. Often I "shop" around until I know that I'm not playing against a 3/4 man SWF.
Most of the time I already know who is in a SWF before the game starts. If player 3 leaves then the replacement player cannot be in a SWF with anyone else. Then if player 1 leaves I know the same information. Also if player 1 & 2 were alone in the lobby for 20 seconds then I also know player 1 is alone; by odds of elimination I also know player 4 is alone since players 1,2 & 3 are alone.
When someone is in my lobby with TTV I immediately open their stream to see if they are solo or SWF. Not Queen determined years ago this was not against the rules. Yes I will attempt to also see their perks. Why? Because playing killer is getting less fun all the time.
When someone comes in with anonymous mode on I will usually leave the lobby. Why? If you're not sure - dodge. There are an infinite number of survivors lined up waiting.
People lie to me all the time and say : we aren't swf. Then I say : I can see you on each other's friends list. And then they say - well we're not a full swf so it doesn't count. That's not how it works you are either solo queue or you are not.
I feel that last bit so much.
I don't understand how people can complaint it "isn't really a SWF" if there is only 3 of then.
That's still a SWF.

Imagine if you kicked a gen to use eruption and it just didn't work, I'm sure you'd be like "that's just the game, it's fine". Yes, you are infact entitled to the tools you bring into the match working, that's why you bring them.
Yea, the amount of killers that have DCd when their hex is destroyed is definitely not 0, I'm sure they were coping with it really well.
Actually I do react to my perks doing that just like that.
As for killer's DCing over totems, the vast majority of those are when 1-2 of them pop in the first 45 seconds. That's not having a Dead Hard miss once, that's losing 25%-50% of your entire perk loadout in under the first minute of the game.

It was a genuine issue way back when where you could be exhausted on the ground, meaning the game knows you pressed E before getting hit but you were sent to the floor anyway (seeing as you can't press E after being hit, it doesn't work), the devs quite literally explained that hits from the killer side and were determined by the killer side and that's why it would happen, it had nothing to do with survivors timing things wrong, it was simply the game giving the killers ping the benefit of the doubt, something you can't predict or time.
Yes, but my point is their reaction to it. They feel so entitled to that E, they will scream so loud it could get the cops called. A sane player often deals with their flubbed perks with some measure of self-respect. Dead Harders are a different breed.

Survivors love their E key crutch. Any dissent will be met with lethal force.
I hate to pound on this point but it is 100% true. Look at all the videos out there of entitled survivors crunching Dead Hard and screaming "I PRESSED E!" when it didn't work, then raging at the game that their crutch perk wasn't timed right.

That's just not true and I'm kinda of sick of talking about it but.... There's no reliably counterplay to Eruption for solo players. If you can not see the chase you don't know when to get off the gen. If you choose not to work on the gen at all or leave that gen (if possible) the perk still gets value.
Not everything gets to have "counterplay". And this fact this perk has it at all is more than a lot of perks offer. You have options. You just don't like them.
-
@sanees said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3330301#Comment_3330301
the eruption literally regresses only 5% it takes the killer 2 seconds to kick the generator during that time the survivors do 8% of the other generators so that 8% is just compensation for the killer kicking the generator, after which the generator regresses by 5% in 20 seconds, with taking into account the fact that the minimum chase time is 30 seconds, then the eruption is even weak ( just so you understand 1 dh wins at least 45% for generators)
I didn't actually know that math, thank you.

-(a) It removes a player's ability to play for a significant amount of time. That is not healthy game design
-(b) It disproportionately affects one group more than the other (solos vs swf). That makes it frustrating for the group that's affected worse and makes it harder to determine if balancing is required.
-Reworking it into a blocked gen effect instead of giving the incapacitated status would still leave the perk strong
There's a very simple fix for eruption.
- Increase reset timer to 45 seconds
- Remove incapacitated status.
- When the perk triggers make the generator(s) not be able to be interacted with for 45 seconds
- Now using Eruption will trigger a soft "reset" on that generator
- It affects solo and SWF equally.
Blocking gens is counterproductive to generator regression. Eruption is a regression perk not a blocking perk. We need a new "status" type for generators where they cannot be interrupted. Just as an example we could call the new generator status : overloaded.
On this note I would suggest kicking a generator with Overcharge should apply this new effect that prevents a generator from being interrupted for 20 seconds.
Instead of removing the player's ability to act you give them a choice knowing they can't do the generator that they want to do.
(BHVR you can hire me at any time to fix all the little problems in your game).
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3329135#Comment_3329135
"The problem with dead Hard is that it gives you a third health state. "
So why doesn't the mend from DH actually take 45 seconds like an "Actual" full heal from self care? Since Dead Hard is giving you a third health state you should need to mend as if you were healing a third health state - not a mend. Note : Legion hitting you with his power would still be a 15 second mend but if you DH a legion swing then you would have to heal the DH deep wound for 45 seconds.
We could just change dead hard with the following text: Using Dead hard makes you take 100% longer for ALL heal actions performed on you.
This is more simple and would make DH "save" less time as you lose time healing repeatedly. Now you are unlikely to heal and just play the game hurt.
This would give you a third health state AND make you pay for that extra health state by requiring more time investment.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3328317#Comment_3328317
DH before was not able to be countered when you used it to make distance to a pallet/window. When It got changed it did NOT get nerfed. DH is still being used by the most skillful players to make chases last much longer.
There is no "penalty" for having a third health state. That part needs to change.
If healing took 100% longer with DH then people would use Adrenaline/Resilience and play the game hurt. They would have 2 health stats without healing. It would kill the "third health state".
Have you noticed by the way that nobody is using Borrowed Time anymore? Survivors just have 5 perks now.
I'd rather just throw the whole thing out of the game instead of trying to "fix" it.

Marvin's Blood sadly got kicked in the groin.
It used to be S-Tier, but it got hurt too bad. Before you could hit a Survivor with a tentacle, hit them a second time, and that would get you into Tier 2. Now that will not get you the tier 2, requiring you to hit a completely different survivor. Now the only thing it is good for is the "Get to Tier 3 once" daily ritual.
I get more mileage out of things like Armbands and Jill's Sandwich.
