If you can't handle horror, do not play a horror game.
-
You cannot even begin to bring all Killers in line in terms of viability until Dead Hard and Iron Will are both kicked in the crotch. Hard. I don't care if both perks are rendered totally useless in the process.

It's less fear and more respect, i think.
As a Killer, I need to respect the fact that Survivors can pre-drop every pallet and win. I need to respect their capability to pressure multiple gens. I need to respect the impact that one Survivor can make.
As Survivor, I've never really felt that way, at least on a macro level. There are some Killers that just aren't threatening. You need to respect Nurse's lethality and Blight's mobility sure, but Legion? Not so much.
So i would amend @WesCravenFan's statement by saying Survivors do not respect Killers. I think that's what gets us into trouble. You can't treat them all the same.
Fair, I think that is a more accurate analysis. There is no respect, and an active enjoyment being had out of disrespect.

the amount of biased baby killers on these forums is insane. skill issue lmao. let me exploit or else you're a bad player. PATHETIC.
Exploit? What exploit? Since when is camping a key box exploiting? Since literally never.

AFK will salvage part of a ruined game.
DCing is just gonna piss off people that feel like their wait time was stolen from them.

Well, I mean, honestly, you COULD use them that way. Not that I would know anything about that. I am a sweet innocent.
Anything that DIRECTLY advances your objective cannot be griefing. Griefing is going out of your way to make people miserable. Camping and tunneling are used as the FASTEST ways to directly and efficiently do your objective.
-
I want to know what level of high you have achieved to believe that Dead Hard isn't broken as hell in or out of a SWF.
-
It is the single most broken perk in the game. Second place isn't even CLOSE.
-
Everyone that is not Blight or Wraith.
-
Survivors are not afraid of Killers because they have been given too many tools not to be.
-
You've Gotta Be Kidding Me
The dignity of your teammates' stupidity is astounding. When unhooked by a teammate without Borrowed Time, gain Endurance for 4/6/8 seconds if the Killer is within 42m.
Hold The Line
You commit to the objective, no matter what. You can no longer be subjected to the Grab action. All Grab actions are treated as a Basic Attack.
No, Not That Way!
Sometimes your teammates need to not run into the jaws of death. Other Survivors do not leave scratch marks when within 4/5/6 meters of you.
-
Deathslinger. He is just worse than Huntress in every single way.
Huge terror radius.
Quick scope removed.
Cannot down on hit, must M1 after a reel.
110% move speed.
No 4v1 game, no map pressure.

If I'm going to receive a matchmaking penalty for disconnecting from the game and ruining the experience for 4 other players, they WHY is the killer not also penalized for camping and tunneling at 4 or 5 gens??
Camping and tunnelling are not griefing.

I am at 20 of 30. It is super easy if you have a friend.
Get on a gen. Friend gets hurt. Friend runs to the gen you are on. You heal friend.
Repeat.
For added ease, run Blast Mine so your buddy knows exactly where to run.
-
If someone DCs and no one on their team is being a jerk, I let them go and maybe farm a little.
If that is "boring" to you, you are welcome to follow the first guy out with a DC. My game as killer is already ruined, so you do you.

This isn't so much of a rant but a observation I've since my time playing dead by daylight.
Whenever a new survivor/killer comes out they make some pretty interesting perks that change up game play. I loved that and it made it pretty fun refreshing than using the same 4 perks for years just to win . Then they go and nerf the perk to be mediocre or less viable then you're forced to go back to the same old meta build. I'm no longer interested in getting new survivors or killers it just feels like a waste of time
Rip Boon circle of healing 🙏 💔 😢
Boil over nerf came out of left field though
What if I told you.... you could run any perks you wanted? /Morpheus

It is not about rules, tunnelingg is not fun for the survivor involved and remove variety into the situation the killer might encounter in the trial, killnig the fun.
And well your last paragraph is the definition of OP. Survivors are OP, thanks to many things.
Survivor fun is not a Killer responsibility.
-
Run NOED. They like that.
-
I have feelings for Survivor issues.
Apathy is a feeling.

Looks like quite a close game when everyone gets so many BPs.
That doesn't mean anything. My SWF has absolutely trounced and toyed with a killer far longer than we needed to just to max bloodpoints, even to the point of literally throwing ourselves at the killer for the hooks.

DC'ing is always bad, unless you're facing a cheater
This. Hacking is the acceptable time to DC.
-
I never respected a Kobe to begin with. Why should I?
-
Just because a killer is rare, or "takes skill" is just a reason they for them to avoid being nerfed.
That is fallacious reasoning.
-
People that oppose bots in games do so because they know you cannot humiliate a bot.
The bot doesn't care.
And that takes their fun away.

Sportsmanship. Neither side should be treated horribly, but that's not going to stop people from being toxic.
Sportsmanship is made up. There are no rules for it at all.
Moreoever, this is aggravated by the double standard, because Survivors can do whatever they want.

I'm all for killers doing everything possible to win, but I don't want to be out of the game in the first 3 minutes. That's not fun. Might be fun for the killer, but it's not fun for the survivor on the receiving end.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2882773#Comment_2882773
Slamming out gens ASAP is called Genrushing. I'm not saying spread hooks out, just saying to give survivors a chance to get more than 3 feet from the hook before going after the same survivor.
Why?
Why are Killers obligated to do this?
And why should they be treated horribly when they don't?

Played Plague they didn't heal too much so not the case
Well, based on the Bronze chaser emblem, it looks like the main issue was the chases took so long the points eroded. A reminder of the points for that emblem:
- 0-15 seconds: 90 points
- 15-30 seconds: 60 points
- 30-45 seconds: 50 points
- 45-60 seconds: 40 points
- 60+ seconds: 30 points
-
Looking at how low the Survivors scored, my guess is that you did not let them play enough to be able to crush your emblems.
That, or your chases were so long and/or they healed so many times it killed it.
-
Why is it allowed?
Are you suggesting that Killers are REQUIRED to pick people up?
-
"Tunnelling" is a word invented to try to shame Killers for how they play.
Notice there is no such term for Survivors. Slamming out gens ASAP is just called "doing the objective".
-
Can't be Exhausted on the ground if you don't run an Exhaustion perk!
-
Imagine thinking that a Killer's design should be built around the standpoint of how much fun it is for the SURVIVORS.
This is why people say Killers are treated like birthday clowns.

Just in time for the "Break 55 walls / pallets / generators" """challenge""", which is what Gideon Meat Plant was made for.
I just kick the same gen 50 times.

so lately i've been doing the purple glyph challenges. I REALLY dislike these for being boring and tedious, but I want to get them, bank the blood points and move on. The glyph is invisible and constantly moving but has a purple goo trail. I'm just spending upwards of minutes searching different areas (multiple times remember because it's constantly moving) and since I can't gen patrol and chase survivors while i'm wandering around aimlessly looking for it the survivors are not gonna know what's going on. So they see this happen and think "well, they're not even trying to play the game, I'm gonna report them for it." I don't think devoting your playstyle around doing your selected rift challenge is a bad thing that should be discouraged. I just don't want to get reported and lose my account because the survivors i'm playing with are all mad at me because i'm not trying to chase people.
Spoiler:
The purple glyph aura shows up on BBQ & Chili. :)

Yes. A perk like that should never exist. It's almost like new survivors are forgotten. They are supposed to simply queue up and lose every match.
What exactly IS an acceptable Killer perk?
-
Impossible. I am told daily that Bubba is broken due to his "free kills".
-
Of all the things that stomp on new players this does not even crack the top 25.

I want more indoor maps and fewer maps with looping.

I don't think those are toxic.
If someone is emoting after a pallet stun; they are trying to anger me. My best counter is not biting. Possibly; they want me to chase them because they are good at looping; time to switch targets.
At the gates? Meh. Again; they want to get a rise out of me.

From my experience people throw games for the hiding challenges
All I have to do is get off a gen when the killer is coming and walk around the tile while he looks for me, or finds a second survivor. Then get back on the gen. Easy 10 seconds every time it happens.
If someone is throwing to do this, they are trying to get it all in one trial.

Hide challenges are fine.
You know what is not fine?
"Unhook another survivor that has already unhooked you this trial. Must be unhooked safely."

ANY nerf to Dead Hard at this point is a QOL upgrade for the game.

Stealth existing to a minimal residual degree is not a good reason for a Killer to ignore pallets, Nurse plays exactly as that, a Killer that requires stealth and ignores pallets and she is so broken she is her own category.
Also, stealth isnt the intended game design anymore or they wouldnt be nerfing it for years, now looping and and running the Killer for maximum amount of time is the intended design so pallets have to be an integral part of gameplay.
Stealth is the intended game design as per the video they released a mere five months ago.

Get rid of SWFs, get rid of ingame chat both pre and post. And get rid of the basement.
I will explain my reasoning. First, SWFs, they were never suppose to be in this game. Look at the game itself, it's designed to be 4 solo Q survivors against 1 killer. And we know this because first 50% of the abilities are based around information where everyone is, and second notice how none of the survivors come with a headset, or a radio? Yea that's by design. SWF has a always been a really bad option in this game, because with SWF the survivors can literally tailor their builds around just telling each other where the killer is, and that's a huge advantage.
Next is chat, chat has never served in any positive light EVER. In pregame it's designed to once again circumvent the ability to play solo Q blindly, and in post game it's designed for trolling, because what else does anyone ever say? If you want people to be able to say GG endgame, just make it a clickable button and remove chat entirely.
And finally the basement. Killers exploit that way WAYYY too much, there are killers like trapper and hag that are designed around that place being inescapable. So yea, it needs to be removed heavily.
Basement.
"Designed around."
"Exploit".
Pick one.

Thats kinda my point like why play in a way in which you dont wanna loop well like isnt that the focus of killer and survivor interaction, if your not playing for that, then i dont understand the fun of survivor because tbh, theres no real insentive to win other than a bit of extra bp
I play for stealth. I do not want to loop. I do not want to give you a chance to down me. That is counter-intuitive to the game objective. Screw your "interactions", you are trying to kill me!

Presteiging resets you for a small cosmetic. Nobody wants to do it. So why have it in the game? It makes sense to reward players for getting to thay point instead of taking all that progress away for a small cosmetic. I want the bloody cosmetics but It makes no sense why I have to lose all my stuff for it .
"Nobody wants to do it"
Um.... almost everyone I know does it.
