Since you didnt read what I said- Ill do it for you.
Dead by Daylight is a multiplayer (4vs1) horror game where one player takes on the role of the savage Killer, and the other four players play as Survivors, trying to escape the Killer and avoid being caught and killed.
Farming is not mentioned anywhere in there.
Clearly you dont like perks like dead hard, so you decide to go farm because you dont want to quit but you dont want to play correctly? How does that add up.
I am going to keep telling people to not farm because the devs didnt create the game to be played for that reason. Sorry to break it to you.
And how they choose to play is up to them.
YOU don't get to play gameplay cop.
If I wanna run a Basement Chest Defender meme build, I will.

Not an actual reason. Go ahead and read the description of dead by daylight on google, and let me know where it says that the intention of the game is to farm. I'll be waiting :)
One more time:
YOU DO NOT GET TO TELL PEOPLE HOW TO PLAY.
You don't get to tell people they can't screw around anymore than I can tell people not to run perks I don't like.

I'd say there's more than that, but preach.
I think a few are borderline depending on spec, like I think Tinkerer is broken on Blight and Dead Man Switch is broken on Artist.
But those two come to mind as being busted 100% of the time.

LMAO and thats where I stop taking you seriously. Thats a really stupid argument to try and make. Youre telling me you think the devs intended people to farm when they were developing the game? Nope. So thats not how its supposed to be played. :)
Give me an actual good reason why farming isnt boring. You may like it, but I most certainly do not. Nothing is wrong with that.
The correct way to play the game is try and hook survivors while they try to do gens. Not hard to do that whatsoever. Thats how the devs intended people to play the game. If every single player on dead by daylight farmed do you think people would play? Nope. Not in a million years. Come up with a better argument.
The argument is people can play however they want.
You don't get to tell people how to play.

How am I supposed to enjoy the game when all I get is people not playing correctly. 4 farmers back to back tonight. I was pretty excited to play today too. There is plenty of things in the game that need a change, and this most certainly is one. Im not saying I hate you if youre a farmer. Just not my thing. Most of the people I play with feel the same way. They could definitely come up with a fast, easy solution to farming that makes everyone happy. Like reducing the outrageous dc penalty.
"Not playing correctly."
Hard to Swallow Pills:
People can play however they want and you don't get to dictate what is "correct".

I absolutely don't believe the 79/80 had DH stat. I'm sure a lot of them did but we both know you're exaggerating a little bit.
I totally believe it.
I played 4 games last night and went 16/16 on Dead Hards.
-
This man woke up and decided to hate on farmers.
FARMERS.
Of all the things that needs a change in this game, this ain't it chief.
-
"Just bait it out." - every smoothbrain on these forums.
-
I watch a lot of streamers. Mostly Killers though. I cannot stand Survivor Main whining about tunnelling, camping, name-calling, etc. There are a few great Survivor Streamers, but they are the minority.
-
Imagine thinking the way you play as a Killer is dictated by how many generators are left.
I wanna see threads now about how Survivors need to chill out doing gens if the Survivor doesn't have any hooks. Oh. Wait, right. Because that doesn't happened. Survivor Rulebook for Killers, 9th Edition.
-
It is only for a minute. But honestly if you got a full 200% drain for 60 nonstop seconds without it getting tapped by a Survivor you have more than gotten your time's worth out of that one kick.

I think it's that many people don't want to have to watch their team die completely helplessly because the killer decides to stand in front of the hook. It's a game design issue they resolved through perks.
It's way too trival to tunnel someone out if those perks are not used. And killer passive slowdown is at a point where doing gens isn't even the counter anymore.
That argument works for Borrowed Time and Decisive Strike.
It totally doesn't fly for Dead Hard or Iron Will.
-
You should have kept the drain on recovery.
People are acting like change was base kit and not attached to one of the worst conditions in the game.
-
@Nazzzak said:
IMO, a bot mode would help. So if you're new to killer you can just try different killers out and practice on ones you want to get better at. So you're not just jumping into the deep end and having to learn while potentially getting bullied.
They will never add a bot mode.
We are already Killer starved. We need new Killers getting bullied by Survivors otherwise the queue times get too bad and the bully Survivors quit. BHVR would much rather give new killers a "baptism by fire" and make them take their beatings and let the community just tell them to "git gud" instead.
-
The problem is not that Survivor perks are weak. They have lots of fun perks that you can get a lot of value out of.
The problem is that perks like Dead Hard are SO INSANELY OVERPOWERED that your average perk looks like trash in comparison.
When people say "There have been no new meta perks since X", what they are really doing is highlighting how busted X is.

I understand why they de-rank: because the game's unbalanced. But what I don't understand is why they'll, for example, be unsuccessful with a perk at high rank (the most accurate place to get balance data from), then de-rank to where they're facing worse opponents, and then they crush using that same perk, and from there they go on to say the perk is strong or OP. It's the dishonesty when speaking on balance issues that is the problem, not because they simply de-ranked. And this is common practice, so you can see why we think it's bad and it's out of control.
The only OP perks in the game are Dead Hard and Iron Will anyway.

We're not talking about the way that they play. We're talking about them going against lower skill people intentionally, and then acting like they can base their takes on game balance off of their clearly skewed results. And when those people are in positions of influence, that's wrong and that's dangerous for the game's future.
Again, you are taking those conclusions OUT OF ORDER.
The game is unbalanced, so as a RESULT they derank.
-
@EntitySpawn said:
Title. I see this in numerous places even here on the forums where people openly admit they try not to kill people, at most they go for 2 hooks and stop (some just go for BBQ stacks)
Some say once they reach max grade they stop trying and dont go for kills or escapes they just mess around etc.
I see these same people comment on balance, and honestly your opinion is void because you are actively deranking on purpose, the moment you avoid your objective on purpose you're deranking.
Just saying... I'm not saying dont play for fun, but dont actively avoid it on purpose.
Did it ever dawn on you that those same people play like that BECAUSE the game is unbalanced?
-
It always amazes me the people, especially streamers, that will say that kicking a pallet or a kicking a gen is a "waste of time", but will spend a full minute trying to mind game the same dropped pallet.
-
Survivors need a lot of what they have gutted, including garbage like Dead Hard.
However, they also need new features added to the game that are actually fun to use.
-
@Sacrifeast said:
So, they need to fix the way they rank because it is so stupid if you go against a bad killer and destroy them and the match is like less than 10 min YOU LOSE A PIP. Also, you should get more points for running the killer, this is not even a joke 80% of my games I spawn right next to the killer and I always end up being the runner and I can’t do gens and I’m the only reason they can do them and then when the game ends I get like 15,00 bps and no rank up which is so stupid because it takes no skill to do gens but it takes a lot to run but NO THE GEN JOCKY GETS MORE BPS, I’ve used the shroud offering that spawns you AS FAR AWAY FROM THE KILLER AS POSSILE AND IM STILL THE FIRST ONE TO BE CHASED HOW AM I SUPPOSE TO PIP UP IF I CANT DO GENS.
Believe it or not, running is not the game objective.
Generators are.
You have FOUR emblems to work on, dude.
-
EGC is 100% a survivor sided mechanic.
The fact that it can delay when someone goes down SPECIFICALLY TO GIVE THE SURVIVORS MORE TIME TO SAVE is 100% proof of this.
-
Deathslinger by far.
Billy gets 5% more movement speed, a map crossing dash, and an instadown.
In what universe is Deathslinger better than Billy? He cannot even down with his ranged attack at a pallet.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
"doing Bones" is still not a good counter at all against a Perk which makes a lot of loops laughable and gives an Instadown for a Killer who might have not achieved anything during the game (or was just camping the first Survivor they found).
If you spend time searching and cleansing 5 Totems, you might not even reach Endgame, which makes it obsolete whether the Killer has NOED or not.
I know this is hard to believe, but you don't have to cleanse 5 totems.
You need to cleanse ONE.
It is far smarter to make a mental note of dulls you walk by, and swinging back around once the last gen pops, than to try to hunt down ALL FIVE.

I have 5.000 hours as surv and I play against killers with 30 hours that make 0 hooks before egc. How do you think this is possible? Of course at the end they have noed
Why are you playing against Killers with 4,970 fewer hours than you?
-
I would rather face the Cenobite than Blight.
-
I find the "killers will tunnel more" logic absolute nonsense.
I want a specific hook counter because maybe I don't want to do that Bill dirty, but there's two of them and I don't know WHICH ones I've hooked.
Do you know how people I ACCIDENTALLY tunneled that I didn't want to?
-
Creating a mechanic that all but ensures the last person gets out completely screws over any idea of Killers getting their Adept.
-
I am trying to imagine any perk in the game that lets you "win" by having it and nothing is coming to mind.
The closest I can think of is Dead Hard, and that is literally on a free character.

It can be very difficult to control.
Bad enough that it can be practically impossible to hook people on certain maps due to the wiggle increase. BHVR has responded to this by reducing the wiggle sway bonus on Boil Over, which is very much appreciated.
OH! You mean on the Killer's side! Okay, I get you now. I thought you meant for the Survivor. I know controller people already get screwed there by having some buttons shared (like Chain Break and Throw Pallet).
-
I got my Freddy Adept on this map, and he is as M1 as it gets. So it isn't that bad.
I would say that this map loses a lot of power if you avoid getting caught in chases with the main building.
-
@Pulsar said:
So screw over people using controllers again?
Legit question: how does Boil Over interact with controllers? I'm confused here.
-
They said they were looking into it.
So they looked.
Yup. It's still there.
Look completed.

The ONLY purpose that EGC has is to prevent hostage situations. Is it really that hard to understand? Its not to cater towards anyone. If survivors stand in the exit just force them out. Its on you if you waste 4min waiting for them to get out. And its as well on you if you chase them for 10 min after all gens are done. you could even open the gate by yourself.
Pls, stop writing threads where you just show off you lack of gamesense.
Nice exploits.

Looking up, looking down, facing away from the flashlight-wielding survivor before picking up, running infectious fright, running franklins, using your ears to listen, or general situational awareness are all good counters to flashlights
If you think flashlights are this easily countered, why do you are if Lightborn exists? I mean they are clearly a moron for running it, right? I mean, just look at a wall, 4head.

So you can cite below average killers but someone mentioning the strongest ones doesn't count? How does that work exactly?
Because there are 27 killers and you reached for the two best ones. That is what is called "outlier data" and does not represent data of the sample as a whole.
This is like saying a disease with a 99% fatality rate is not that deadly because 1% of them live.

Can how show stats that prove that low MMR everyone gets 4ks and high MMR no one gets any kills?
Idk which MMR I'm at, but I do have thousands of hours so I'd like to believe I am not low, specially when I play crossplay off where everyone is way sweatier, and the nurses and blights there seem to be doing just fine.
I am not sure citing the two strongest killers in the entire game that are well accepted to be broken by both sides is all that compelling an argument.

I might be wrong, but shouldn´t survivor be the stressful role? After all, someone wants to kill them and they have no way to "fight back".
Unfortunately, we have pallet stuns, head on, flashlights, flashbangs, decisive strike, and blast mine that all say hello.
-
I think the problem is the disparity gap.
At low to mid MMR killers get 4ks ALL THE TIME.
Then at at top MMR killers get rekt with 0ks ALL THE TIME.
But according to the statistics, this is fine because it "averages" out, which is garbage. It should not be a total stompfest at both ends.
-
What was your question, exactly?
-
It doesn't take long to become a hypocritical Survivor Main.
-
This is not that weird.
You got 4 survivors. If three of them all spawned on a gen that is like 2 seconds to get on the gen. And then probably 76 seconds to knock it out after you count in all the skill check gains.
90 seconds is enough time for three Survivors to blow 3 gens and still about ABOUT 10 seconds left over.
And this is not counting Spine Chill bonuses, toolboxes, or Brand New Parts.

Literally have no idea what you're getting at here. ######### is wrong with the word "Period"??
"Period." is used to denote a hard stance. Which you said about banning.
And you did it quoting a screen that also mentions DCs and Ragequits.
So I'd be careful how serious you wanna worship that screen if you really think about what percentage of the DBD population that hard stance would ban.

Well yeah that's a different issue. It's not like I was defending that type of behavior.
In cases like posts similar to these, the op often makes it clear that they're going to change playstyles because they weren't getting the praise they feel like they deserve for playing "nice." That's fine, but then they try to use it as ammo by ranting about how they're going to be more mean to punish all survivor players as if it was never an option in the first place and as if the survivors were literally forcing them to play that way. My point is if you have the ability to play how you want and know that you can then just do it. No need to let others make you think you can't. The op here themselves already stated that they would and it had nothing to do with being nice.
In other words:

Even so there's plenty of measures you can take to help you ignore the community if their opinions influence you so much. Disabling endgame chat is one. It really shouldn't be that much of an issue though. If you let it get to a point where you aren't even playing the way you want because others' opinions influence you so much then why play?
Just because you can ignore a community does not help if you want to be a part of it. It probably hurts a lot of people that they want to engage with others, but then get called a ton of slurs because they had the audacity to hook the same Survivor twice and break a "rule".
-
Flashlight saves are not toxic.
I hate them, but they are not toxic. It's literally their intended function.

If you let people on the internet dictate how you play a video game then that still sounds like a you problem.
Not saying you specifically, but just in general.
That does not mean it does not happen. Saying you can ignore the community does not mean this is not how the community is ingrained.
-
@GannTM said:
What do you mean by rely on flashlights when they’re one of the weaker items?
It is amazing to me that people still push this myth that flashlights are weak.
Toolboxes are worth a handful of gen seconds at best.
Keys do next to nothing.
Maps do next to nothing and the only decent one is a 7K iri.
Outside of a lucky sabo in a good location, no other than than a Flashlight can prevent a hook state and completely undo a Killer's successful chase. Anyone who thinks this is weak is out of their ever loving mind.
The only item that outclasses a flashlight is a medkit, and even then a save off the shoulder is not that different from an actual health state.

FYI this thread will likely just be flooded with killers coming to defend the "strategy" and talking about how it's easily counterable and completely fair, even though we all know fine well it's BS and should be removed. Every single thread I've seen about this has ended the same way.
The same people who were kicking off about Boil Over when it was being exploited are the exact same ones who will rush to defend this terribly-designed add-on. Because ya know exploits and rulebreaking are only a problem when they're done by the opposing side 🙄
"AFKing" and "idling" are reportable offenses and hence Pigs doing this should be banned.

I would be careful how hard you wanna worship that screen while saying "Period", unless you think everyone that has ever DC'd out of a game early should be banned.

I think the issue is your "nice guy" attitude. You seem to think that the survivors owe you for you playing "nice" when in reality they don't. It's your choice to play that way. If you want play toxic then just do it. These posts always give me the impression of that one guy who buys the girl all these gifts and then gets mad when she doesn't want to lay him. If you want to be "nice" you do it out of the kindness in your heart and not because you expect something. You're just setting yourself up for disappointment.
Sure the survivors should at least have the decency to say "Wow this guy didn't tunnel anyone out of the game and still got 9 hooks, maybe I shouldn't act like an ass an tbag at the gate." Yeah they're #########, but it's not like they forced you to play that way.
Just do you bruh.
I don't think this is a fair example at all.
In the "nice guy" example you painted that dude has not been conditioned for years to only play a certain way, lest he be supremely bullied by the other side for not playing by their rules.
