I play both sides but the number of threads from killer mains complaining how most of the survivors are toxic and the only thing they are facing is bully full stacked meta swf squads who will deny you a single hook is getting ridiculous, it's literally the only type of discussion here.
I completely understand how awful it feels to get bodied by a team who will then rub it in your face, we all have been there but people who play killer are just as bad, because it's not really about the role, it's about people feeling the need to make other people feel bad.
Yesterday I was playing solo and I was playing with a random 3 man squad against a mending simulator and after we got 3e they asked me to play with them, after a while one of them left and the rest of us decided to play with no mither. and meme around
We got into a match with a pretty bad spirit - since NM gives you no pools of blood and a nerfed iron will it actually works against her but you just have to not greed pallets that much they were super lost and we managed to smash all 5 gens with 4 of us still alive. The spirit got the 4th rando in the basement and we knew it's either 3e or we all just die, 2 of my new friends came there and got downed and I was standing at the 99 gate and was just screw it, I came to the basement and willingly gave myself in, it was a fun match for us since all of us got some good chases.
After the match the killer started insulting us, writing gg ez and how we are trash at the game because we lost while on comms ( I was not on comms with them).
THe person legit threw a fit even tho they 4k'ed and were playing against 3 No Mithers as effin Spirit, it was so embarrassing that I legit laughed out loud.
Killers are just as salty and awful as Survivors because it's just humans being petty they lost at an unbalanced party game, so please do not take it that serious.
"it's literally the only type of discussion here."
There is where I stopped reading and all credibility for what might have came after it was lost.

Jesus, you just decided they weren't allowed to play the game. 6K blood? How much game time did that poor Survivor get?

Oh I am sure for bad killers it is.
Why is it any time a tactic exists for killers that works, it gets labeled as "for bad killers".
Tunnelling = bad killer.
Camping = bad killer.
Slugging = bad killer.
NOED = bad killer.
And yet no one ever says doing X or Y is for "bad survivors"?
How come you never hear "Dead Hard is for bad Survivors" or "Brand New Parts are for bad Survivors" or "Flashlight saves are for bad Survivors?"
Why is this EXCLUSIVELY a one sided double standard?

Nah. That would make him a brainless Killer. The whole point of trapper is being smart where you place them. If 10 would already be around windows and pallets you would get survivors based on Luck not skill
Trapper is not skill based. Trapper is an IQ test for the Survivors.
-
People say it is to prevent tunnelling, but that is garbage.
Tunnelling is based on opportunity, not checking for hook states. Tunnelling is "That Meg I already hooked just ran right in front of me" or "I now that David doesn't have BT, so he just farmed that Jane."
Letting Killers see the hook states would actually let people that WANT to spread hook states around do so. It is much easier for a tunneller to track ONE Survivor they are already focusing on in their heads than a more fair played killer to track FOUR.

I do not understand how people can blame people's behavior on MAP DESIGN.
The game would not stop being toxic because maps were done differently. People that wanna play like jerks don't do so because of the freaking MAP.

Its a non issue issue. There is no way for this to be fixed. You also cant prove someone is using a macro for this. There is no way to remove the click spam from the game (exept to give it a very small cooldown which wouldn't solve the issue you are having with this.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2938487#Comment_2938487
- Just because it's BM doesn't make it toxic. Using it has no effect on the match unless it gets under your skin. Get over it.
- If it really is a health concern then the issue isn't with the macro. The macro only makes a repetitive sound if that is the issue then they shouldn't be playing the game since noise can be made with no ill intent through normal gameplay.
- Yeah A very very short cooldown isn't as it allows a skilled player who knows they messed up the timing to re adjust it just slightly. I stated that in previous response to the OP.
But you probably wouldn't understand anything since you assume things based on people PFP.

What do you mean by you guys. The only reason I was even for it was the free 8k Shards. I could care less about the bubba masks. I didn't even notice half the time. But good on you for bringing up something that has nothing to do with this discussion.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2938643#Comment_2938643
There is not photosensitivity issues with flashlight macro. It only makes a sound.
There is no way to get around this issue since flashlights are in the game. You dont even need a macro to do this. It can be done by simply binding the use item to scroll wheel.
You are going through a lot of effort to defend something that only has a negative impact on the game. No good comes from flashlight macros. None.

And you think having nothing is the way to go? I mean, there are Jokes about Killers wanting Survivors to spawn on Hooks, but thinking a Deadzone which is around 1/3rd of the Map is a great idea comes really close to this.
@Topic:
Yeah, I also dont get it. Sometimes some Pallets can spawn there, but it is also possible that you get nothing on the road. And I dont really get why it also does not provide any cover to hide behind (really, there are almost no trees) and why it has four lanes and is just so gigantic.
Yes. Absolutely. 100% I do. There should be parts of every map where there are NO RESOURCES.
The degree to which Survivor skill has increased, Dead Hard has crutched, and tiles have been chained has taken this game in a direction where the game is now nothing but looping to waste as much of the killer's time as possible until all 5 gens are done. That should not be how the game is designed at all. It's GARBAGE design.
As long as they push this mentality, Killers like Nurse and Blight will always be leagues ahead of every other Killer, and Survivor Mains will whine about every single released Killer with "anti-loop" that threats this paradigm.
So yes, I want absolute dead zones. But I also want the Fog back. I want darkness back. I want stealth to be a legit component to this game again.

Survivors are dirty tunnellers. Once they get on a gen, they will stick on it until the end. Just hovering around it, camping.
When are we fixing this camping and tunnelling of gens?!
-
Survivors got way too comfy cozy with every tile being a safe tile and you could chain them together.
More maps need to be like this where you have some areas that are VERY strong and some areas that are VERY weak. I'm okay with some god houses next to a dead street.
The era of "Run to tile, loop pallet for all you can milk, drop, vault window, run to next tile, rinse and repeat" absolutely needs to come to an end.

Marking people and insta downing them = A shorter chase
Therefore his power can help shorten chases.
This is the same with Myers as well, I classify it as a 'chase shortener' power. It doesn't help you against things like pallet loops but it does make a chase shorter. 99ing survivors with ghostface also gives him a decent defensive option too
Killers who have the potential to instadown also create deadzones faster as survivors won't be able to get as much out of their resources, theoretically
Sadako has none of this, her mobility is good but it doesn't make up for the weak chase game.
But you cannot do it IN chase. You have to have all that prepped before the chase begins. If you come around a corner and see a Survivor, there's nothing you can do except play the weakest M1 game imaginable.
-
@Brokenbones said:
Sadako's biggest design flaw is she is the only killer in the game who has no power that helps in chase whatsoever
Every other killer does (In one way or another)
The only thing that helps her in chase are the manifesting invisiblity period (Which isn't really that useful) and being able to demanifest to phase through bodyblockers
Disagree. Ghostface is totally helpless. The best he can do is try to Night Shroud, which for some reason you can just break by looking over your shoulder. You would have to ALSO be marked for this to matter.
-
I would be okay with more Perk slots if they had category requirements.
Like give each perk a keyword.
And you'd get like one Generator Perk, one Aura Perk, one Chase Perk, one Hex Perk, etc.
-
Just because you blind them does not mean you get the save.
You want to start the flashlight after the grunt, when the survivor goes up past the Killer's knee (or appropriate animation).
If you start too early, you get the blind but at the time of the blind the Survivor was not out of the pickup animation yet.

Do you think that every Survivor is stupid?
@Topic:
I mean, the game is fun when you dont play M1-Simuilator against Legion. Today I did not face a single Legion, the game was much better than two days ago. So maybe it becomes a bit better now.
Does not change the fact that games against Legion are a total snoozefast and dragged out way too much, but at least there is less of it.
"M1 Simulator".
Doing gens is "M1 Simulator".
Opening a chest is "M1 Simulator".
Cleansing at a fountain is "M1 Simulator".
Using an alarm clock is "M1 Simulator".
Opening an Exit Gate is "M1 Simulator".
Healing a Survivor is "M1 Simulator".
This phrase is meaningless.

I love new Haddonfield.
I hope more maps are made with this kind of a design.
Now we just need more RPD style basements and more Dead Dawg style Killer Shacks.

I just wish people would end the game.
If you find the hatch, jump in. Do not stand there and wait for the killer to find you.
If you are at the exit gates, just leave. Do not spam fast vault animations near the exit gate trying to get the killer's attention.
If you are the killer, hook the last guy. Don't stand over him staring at him.

Fair enough, sir, fair enough lol
I mean, I 100% get where you are coming from. Sitting on a hook sucks. I just wish there was a way to help high struggling Survivors that are losing to get unhooked in such a way that also won't make it impossible for a Killer to secure a kill in the end game.
-
This is something Survivors think they want, but don't.
Imagine this feature goes into effect.
You are sitting there, on the hook. You got Deliverance. Some Feng runs up to unhook you, and you KICK HER IN THE FACE. Feng then takes off. You wait a few more seconds, and Deliverance.
Two minutes later you get hooked again. Only this time now the Feng does not come to safe you. You die on hook. Now you cry in endgame chat that your team left you to do, and the Feng RIGHTFULLY replies "Last time I went to save you, you kicked me in the face."
-
This all comes from the false idea that you are entitled to an unhook.
-
Legion does not need a nerf.
Legion is fine.
If you got instadowned after a pallet slide that means your team let him get ALL FIVE HITS OFF.
-
The reveal mechanic will continue to suck as long as Survivors can reveal him while just looking over their shoulder in chase.

You are telling me that killer perks don't slow down the game as much as DH. And I just told you exactly how killer perks can slow down the game enough to where you basically don't even have to play and can still win.
Let's agree to disagree.
How do you just agree to disagree on MATH?
Corrupt Intervention lasts an absolute maximum of 120 seconds. That is the most value it will get, no matter how many games you play.
Dead Hard resets every 40 seconds outside of a chase, can be run by all four Survivors, and RESETS ON HOOK.
These are not opinions, man.
-
I can't read any of that, but I respect the premise. I would very much like to see the Survivor base's perks improved upon so that Survivors have a better spread of effective perks to compete with the same dirty dozen that are used right now.
I mean would Alert really be broken if it lasted 3 more seconds, or if Distortion had more tokens?

The only reason this game would not have a finite duration is because people are not doing the objective.
And I said 30 seconds PER survivor. Which is probably around 2 minutes of gen time cumulatively across the team.
The game is snowball based. You can't hold up a single number and use it to prove anything. Gens fly by the fastest at the start of the game, when the killer has no hooks and no pressure. The second the killer starts getting hooks the gen progress slows down drastically.
In a 3v1 you can basically cause all gen progress to stop just by hooking 1 person and then chasing another.
And it's a pretty nutty take imo. You know I can win games by facecamping with Bubba with Corrupt, Deadlock, and NWO? Literally that's a legit 3k strategy if you get the first down in under 30-40 seconds. That's literally how much slowdown those perks introduce. Straight facecamping and still winning against SWFs.
Okay, I'm gonna have to have you put those goalposts you just tried to move and put them right back where you found them. We are talking about perks, not SWFs, facecamping, or anything to do with Bubba.
Four Survivors can each run Dead Hard, trading off chases and creating countless minutes of wasted Killer time that DRASTICALLY outstrips Killer perks. Even if we take your claim at face value and multiple that 30 second value four times (for each survivor), we come to two minutes - and Dead Hard(s) can VERY easily buy you more than two minutes - no contest.

The game in general has a finite duration? And corrupt does stop the objective. Survivors in this game literally spawn on gens, sometimes all 4 of them at once. That means your clock as killer is ticking x4 1-2 seconds into the match unless you have corrupt.
Corrupt, especially on certain maps, can buy you ~30+ seconds of gen time per survivor for them to even find a gen. 30 seconds is enough to get a down with many killers. From there, the survivors now have a side objective and only 2 will be on gens potentially even 1 if multiple people go for the save because it's solo Q. So corrupt has essentially stopped almost all generator progress completely by itself.
Also, if Ruin stays up all game it can buy you like 3-4 extra gens. That's why I feel like you are trolling because anyone who has played this game should know that. Especially on a killer like Pyramid Head where you go interrupt a 90% gen with Tinkerer and then send them off to a cage on the other side of the map. The gen usually goes all the way back to 0.
Holy crap you keep saying objectively false things. I can understanding someone having a different OPINION, but not saying things blatantly untrue.
The game does NOT have a finite duration. At all. There is no time limit. I've seen 2 hour long hatch stand-offs. I've seen Survivors bodyblocked into corners for over 45 minutes until the Killer gave them no choice but to disconnect.
How can you possible say something as BLATANTLY untrue as "the game as a finite duration"?
Corrupt does not stop the Objective. There are 7 generators on the map. At BEST you force them to walk to different generators.
And your citation of 30 seconds is still way, WAY less time "bought" than some Dead Hard users can get.
Ruin is completely at the mercy of the totem being destroyed. It has loads of counterplay, which I already addressed in early posts.
My primary point stands and you have not refuted it:
NO KILLER PERK CAN WASTE AS MUCH GAME TIME AS DEAD HARD OVER THE COURSE OF AN ENTIRE MATCH.
-
There's nothing wrong with RPD. You just have to play different on than map than you do every other map. It's getting aggravating that everyone wants new maps, but unless it is the same old nonsense with the same old tiles with the same old loops, people cry foul.
We got new map textures and layouts with RPD, New Haddonfield, etc and people cry it isn't the same. We have 20 maps using basically the same configuration. We FINALLY have alternatives and people cry about it. If you want the same old junk just run an Autohaven offering.
-
No anti-exhaustion perk will ever matter as long as it lasts less than 10 seconds.

How do you "earn" an Achievement a Survivor can literally screw you out of just by jumping into a locker? My friend had to try that Achievement SIXTEEN times before he got it, and almost every single time it was because someone jumped into a locker. OUTPLAYED BY SPACEBAR LOL.

I mean, Jace (my friend who jumped into a Locker to avoid Myers Tombstone) IS a ttv, but he was never streaming, so It doesn't make sense to me
WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT.
HOL UP
Back the bus up.
Let me get this straight. You know for a FACT this is a Tombstone Myers, a build that is expensive as hell with a 7,000 bloodpoint offering on the line. It's only feature is for the Myers player to get the satisfaction of getting off a special kill feature.
And you/your friend intentionally screw him out of it by jumping into a locker, making sure he cannot get the kill or possibly the achievement that goes with it just to spite the man, forcing him to hook you or drop you on the floor...
.... and you are CONFUSED why he let you bleed out? Really? You have no idea how he could have done that? You cannot find a motive? None?
Look, if you wanna play that like that is your call - I won't judge you for it - but I don't see how you can stand there and somehow NOT UNDERSTAND why he would do that.

Yeah hooking survivors takes a lot of effort. It's not your primary objective as the killer or anything.
That's like saying a perk that requires survivors to do a gen to activate requires extra effort.
My point is that no Killer perk can buy as much time as Dead Hard.
You tried to cite Corrupt Intervention, a perk that has a literal specific, finite duration. Not to mention the fact that Corrupt doesn't actually stop the objective. You still have 3 gens you can do.
-
@OpenX said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2927476#Comment_2927476
I am saying Deadlock. I am saying Pain Res. Dead Man's Switch. Ruin Undying. None of those really require any effort on the killers part beyond Ruin. Especially with certain builds where DMS can consistently be activated globally.
If you are going to sit here and tell me Corrupt is a bad perk and doesn't slow down the game, I honestly don't know what to say to that. It probably buys you the most time out of any killer slowdown perk bar Ruin staying up the whole game. It gives you the breathing room to get your first hook in a game that is heavily snowball reliant.
And then saying Pop is bad? "Finite number of uses" when it's a finite game. By the time you can't use pop anymore it's because people are dead and gens don't matter anymore.
And saying Ruin can't buy you minutes of extra gen time? What? You must be trolling?
"None of these really require any effort on the killer's part"
You literally just cited two perks that only activate on a hook. Jesus Christ, man.

What about how killers can run 4 automatic gen perks? Literally, no input required and you still get tons of artificial time injected into the game.
Killers have perks that extend gen times, survivors have perks that extend their life times. What is the issue here?
What is an "automatic gen perk"?
Are you trying to say Ruin? Which can be ignored by not letting go of a gen and ignoring it? Or even getting cleansed before it does anything?
Or do you mean Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance? Which is a flat 15% and all regressing can be avoided by.... taking your finger off the gen before the hook happens, and putting it back on?
Or did you mean Corrupt Intervention, which doesn't stop you from doing gens at all, it just blocks the furthest ones?
Or did you mean Pop Goes The Weasel? Which is a flat 25% and requires you to hook ever single time, putting a fine number of uses on it?
I'm not seeing any perk here that will consistently waist 3, 4, 5 or even more minutes of the game's time all by itself. Your team would have to be SO BAD for any of these to outperk Dead Hard, that it is no longer a perk issue.
-
@EntityNea said:

No killer perk has that much power?
What about... an addon that lets you immediately kill healthy survivors that haven't even been hooked yet.
Before you start arguing that "yeah it only works if it's used by a skilled Myers", same thing can be said about Dead Hard. I've seen too many team mates dead hard into walls and getting immediately downed.
The reason that is a false equivalency is that Myers has to throw the game by pissing away chase seconds staring at you. Dead Hard BUYS you time. Myers kills THROW TIME AWAY.
Also LOL at trying to compare a perk with no cost whatsoever to an add on with finite uses that costs thousands of blood points per pick.
