These days I prefer the chase more so than slowing down generators. I know that anything that slows down a survivor's objective is considered strong, but if you can make a chase last only seconds, it seems to make a gen defense build a moot point. But if a generator defense build has to exist in order for a killer to be effective, then maybe there's something to be said about generators going too fast.
Corrupt is the best perk. you go on offensive and if you're good they shouldn't be able to finish 2 gens so fast while you get your first hook.
-
I assume it always and note totems when i see the killers plays really bad or in a boosted way.

See! There you go again....people are talking down on NOED players making comments like "baby killer" "baby perk" "get good" and you honestly think there nothing wrong with that? Im defending both myself and other killers that "may" or still do use it, thats why i came in this thread! Trying to twist it around again or ignore the fact that you said those things or think its ok until someone calls you out on it.
Try again my friend. I'll be the bigger person and end it here. Im not responding to you anymore after this.
**So go ahead, insert insulting comment, like all kids do!***
Don't answer to me i don't really care tbh. you can defend whoever you want but I don't agree with your opinion, that's my right and I'm not ignorant because I've seen many instances of how bs noed is.
I'm glad that a big streamer like Otzdarva started to expose this issue so maybe the devs will be aware with it. have a good day.

What are Survivors doing while working on gens?
Granted, I'm aware they aren't technically standing, but......
Yeah but survivors are supposed to do that. the game even tells you as killer to patrol generators to find survivors.

Yeah, Killer is my most played. I admit I haven't seen Survivors smart enough to try that solo-rescue strat, but I've done it many times on Survivor successfully. The only times it won't work is against Save the Best.
Overall, your oversimplification of calling it "standing still to win games" is very awkward.
You could say the same thing about playing goalie on a professional hockey team. "Wow this guy just stood still and won the Stanley Cup! Hockey is so busted."
You see how that's misrepresenting it?
No because the goalie needs the help of his team to win the game.
The killer is his own team, he progresses his objective by standing still. the goalie can't progress the objective if his team won't help him.

One does not exclude the other. You can be a good chaser or a bad chaser, and in both cases tunneling will increase your chances of winning dramatically. Nobody is ashamed of tunneling, it just makes no sense. It's like saying "you use your rooks in chess because you are bad and can't win with bishops! You should be ashamed, good chess players win without even touching their rooks!".
Then let's agree to disagree.
I value killers who beat the *** out of my team pretty fast or at least with less of a struggle because they play so well and learnt the whole gimmicks.
I write gg wp and know that this killer played amazingly, but if it's just another "oh, tunneler boi" then yeah have fun get your 1-2k or even a 4k if the team messed up, but I don't feel like you made something special and I know this guy will lose to a better team.

Your probably right there has been so many time I could of tunneled and didn't and ended up having 3 gens pop about 30 seconds after I 'played nice". I don't tunnel off the bat because getting a kill with 4-5 gens left is a horrible situation to be in for a survivor just like one gen and 4 survivor isn't fun for a killer neither is impossible but its a super sweat fest in both situations. I don't like the double standard this community has killers can't use second chance perks like need that only happens at the end game and is counter able but survivors can use SB,DS,UB,...and its ok and most of the survivor second chance perks can be used multiple times all game. Its ok for survivors to just do gens and be efficient not touch totems or chests all game but the killer does the same and its not ok. Both sides can abuse these perks but the majority aren't trying to use them that way.
I never said I was even a good killer im alright map knowledge is my biggest weakness imo
I understand you but that's why I made my sarcastic comment.
You'll feel bad to tunnel at 5 gens, cause you know it's kinda like.. cheating? it's like you're not showing you're good.
You wanna feel good, that you're doing well with your killer and that's why you don't tunnel straight away.
People who just tunnel off bat and wanna feel like they also play well.. they can't really prove that to me or other people tbh.
-
@TGB said:
The truth of the matter is that you gain more pressure by not camping. If you leave the hook, you now have Person 1 on a hook doing nothing, Person 2 moving to the hook, and now you can chase out Person 3 from a gen, leaving only Person 4 working on one.
When you camp, you have 3 people working gens for a while, then 2 people still working gens and a 3rd going for rescue.
When handled correctly, camping is not good for the Killer. And therefore, COMPLAINING about a strategy simply because you failed to counter it is not valuable. In fact, it can lead to game changes that butterfly effect and ruin the game (even more than it already is because of misguidance).
I've never said camping is the best startegy. that's why most killers I face play the game in a fun way that actually benefits them(unless you're a bubba).
I'm just saying that even with this start you can win games, many of them actually which is dumb cause you're just standing still.
-
Good is ending a chase fast when the survivor has ways to defend himself, you overcome that. that's why you have *ta da* killer tutorials on youtube, to teach you how to play GOOD with the killer.
tunneling off hook can be done by my lil brother because pressing m1 to strike him down from 2 meters isn't really hard even for a child.
these are differences and this is why people are ashamed at tunneling and don't do that on 5 gens, even tho they know it's the most efficient strat.

Yeah i need to "fully" explain all the variables in the "discussion" NOED is known as a noob killer perk for all the ignorant people like you who contradict themselves. Im already "good" buddy,no as a matter of fact im great at DBD moreso on the killer side so your literally not saying anything. Those kind of manipulation comments may work on others but not on me! Just like if a bug were to come on my shoulder i'd just brush that s* off like im doing now. If you want debate we can do that, otherwise you can go somewhere else with that
You play videogames right? 'It had no effect"

"Yeah first of all" that DH always works, because now there's a BT'd Survivor between us. It doesn't matter if you expect something that you can't do anything about.
Secondly, yes, camping works a lot of the time because 1) unorganized pub groups with no Kindred, when everyone ends up bailing on gens to go for rescue, and now everyone's there and ALSO still unorganized, and 2) bad SWF's that give you free value for camping. And tunneling works, barring DS, because removing someone early is great for relieving gen pressure. But if you try to tunnel and run into a DS, it's like running into a brick wall, and it means you just WASTED all that time, gaining nothing for it at all. And additionally, most of the time someone gets tunneled, it's because they are just the weak link and are always spotted, and are bad at looping. Of course they're gonna keep getting hooked. It's not the Killer's job to ignore someone that's playing bad. Especially when that person can still push gens, no matter how bad they are.
sigh.
I hate having to spell these things out all the time.
Do you really play killer? I played over 1000 hours on killer on red rank and this trick never works.
I the survivor can DH but there's always enough room to go around the bt'ed unhooked guy and stomp the dead harded boy, you just need to wait for it.
Also, of course that camping can be countered if the killer isn't that good in it, especially if you're coordinated, BUT, it doesn't change the fact that this strategy of standing still can still win you games in this said game, which in any other game it won't.

No it's just that killers want to play super efficient but also be considered as killers who play well.
so let me tell you, you can't do both. you can mix between the two but if you just tunnel and expect to be rewarded with a 4k, no, 4k should be earned by killers who learnd how to end chases and outsmart survivors quick and actually make them scared, I want the survivor to say "damn he plays well with his x Killer, be careful guys".
They're ashamed cause if the survivor would say "just another tunneler bro, gen rush and leave i'll die" they know they're not skillfull in this game.
So decide, wanna be good or efficent?

Or I can just be efficient and knock down the one that takes 10 seconds instead of a 40 second chase were 2 gens pop. All tunneling is just being efficient at your objective as a killer just like doing gens as fast as possible is being efficient as a survivor. I don't normally tunnel untell 2 gens are left so if 3 gens are done in 2 minutes survivors have set a tone and I need to respond equally to keep up
Why? just tunnel at 5 gens. be super efficient bro. you're making such a good point, do it from the start don't wait for 2/3 gens to be left.
It's funny because everyone knows that tunneling is so efficient yet so lack of skill, so everyone are ashamed that they are doing that unless they "HAVE TO" just do it from the start and get over with it, get your win and feel good about yourself, you're a sick killer.

The game is poorly designed because survivors go for unsafe unhooks? I mean... I think it has some design issues. This isn't one of them.
It's poorly designed because you can stand still and progress your objective, while ruining the game and make it boring for everyone.
Hag is the best example for that. she doesn't chase she just camps and camps and that's how you win with her, but at least she needs to put traps.
The fun aspect of the game is to chase different people and try to outsmart them, yet i can just stand still and win pretty easily many games.

But the train crashing doesn't mean the train has the problem... It means the driver has the problem...
Campers are easy to address, barring Bubba and Billy.
If you're a solo rescuer, you fake rescue, get M1'd, rescue, Dead Hard past your rescued person who probably gets BT'd, and you both run to a loop with that time. And you can do this near the end of the hook phase so that you milk out the most genwork possible during the camp.
If you're more than 1 person, it's totally trivial and you don't need to blow your Dead Hard.
The amount of games that are lost simply because Survivors aren't good and are too scared to do anything smart is astounding.
Yeah first of all against a good killer, nah that DH doesn't work i always expect that and that person goes down if he tries to hook bomb.
Secondly, most players who do that are the good campers like bubba but even with other killers u can tunnel/camp pretty easily and still win.
Your last sentence is correct, most of the time it's because the survivors are pretty dumb but that's the issue of this game, most of the survivors will ruin the game and face camping will reveal their bad decision making to your favour.

Is there any game like dbd other than friday the 13th?
Let me tell you something that will help you with DBD.
This forum is very killer biased, they hate swfs because they can't beat them easily.
Play with friends and try to improve your skills, solo queue is so inferior and that's why killers are afraid of MMRS.
About the matchmaking, nothing you can do that's why this game is weird, just find a group and improve your looping/decision making skills to not be a full easy stomp fest for killers.

You really cant blame the game. Every game gives you the option to stand still. Only difference is in this game the human players decide to throw themselves at the standing still killer.
I kinda disagree.
Standing still helps you progress your objective, thus killing the hooked survivor. Survivors throw themselves cause they try to help that guy also cause they feel bad for him.
If you'll stand still in any other game you won't make any progression towards your objective.

Then tunnel do as you please but why are you shocked that you get 2k at best? you don't deserve more than that.
Have you even read what I said? You can't be more efficient than with tunneling. If you struggle with tunneling, you will be demolished without it. If I play "nice", do I deserve 4k then? I doubt it, because to my experience and to basic common sense playing inefficiently reduces the odds of victory. So who decides if I "deserve" 4k or not?
I did read what you've said.
If you think you're a good killer because you catch the injured guy where he has nowhere to run after a hook and thus you deserve a 4k, cause you played effiecntly, then it's your issue.
I play killer a lot and i know i can 4k every game if i just tunnel straight away, it will be pretty easy but tbh I won't feel like i did well, or outsmarted the survivors or made them fear my skill with my killer cause i end chases quick, I just abused the stupid mechanics that the devs confirmed as strats.
So yeah, i got my 4k.. did it make me a good player? nah i'm pretty bad, that's why I don't tunnel every game even tho I know it will make me win easily.

Actually you are ignorant because your saying ignorant things.
The survivor doesn't deserve a free boost of speed end game for completing all the gens or the hatch closing. lol *rolls eyes* smh
So if i (who frequently plays at rank 1) have 3 perks, no matter what they are and NOED as the 4h perk, body (kill) the whole team with 1 or 2 gens left and get a Ruthless or Merciless killer I obviously didnt get to use my NOED because the team lost so what does THAT mean?
Another scenario, lets say i play a different killer with a similar build (having NOED) but this game all the gens are done and my NOED prox's you mean to tell me my "baby wheel" determines how good or bad i am at the game? Lmao I know your answer to question 2 already but answer question 1 please, i'll be waiting for your response!
Oh btw Devour Hope is earned and NOED isnt earned right? According to your logic, so why didnt you take the initiative to cleanse the dull totems? I'll answer THAT. Its because your entitled my friend! Stop being entitled, rushing the gens then complaining end game. I still will wait for your response to question 1 btw
I wanted to write a good arguemnt until you wrote "rushing the gens". you're entitled bro, keep playing with your cute noed.

It's true, when I'm over nurse for the day I play insidious basement bubba and I've had people asking me how I even managed to remain at rank one after the match.
Idk how either but it works.
It works cause the devs decided it's a valid tactic. just stand still and wait for the train to crash tactic shows how broken this game is.
If the killer wants to bore himself and the others to death, fine, but why he is rewarded for that?
-
@Gamedozer7 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2460194#Comment_2460194
And you shouldn't get rewarded with 4 escape for going back to the same gen that has progress when there is other gens you can do
Or maybe you can take an anti loop killer instead of your legions/pigs and learn how to end chases quicker, trying to give a real threat to the team what about that? LOL what a funny comment. I didn't tell him not to tunnel but he shouldn't get a 4k for that, it's dumb cause it shows no killer skills.
@Junylar said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2460194#Comment_2460194
Unfortunately, it's the most efficient tactic in the game. Eliminating one survivor from the game before the 4th gen is done is a guaranteed win for the killer. If tunneling only brings you 1/2k, it means without tunneling you would've got classic 4 escapes with 8 hooks.
Then tunnel do as you please but why are you shocked that you get 2k at best? you don't deserve more than that.

There are signs that tell you to be efficient on generators:

When I play against SWF, I always try to tunnel one person. I even eat DS and wait out BT for it. With this approach I get one kill where otherwise I would've got none. In that game where I got 2k with NOED I also tunneled one person, but was only able to finish him in the endgame with the help of NOED. The second person tried to save him, and then was one-hooked. Even with the most optimal tactic and NOED 2k is the ceiling against most SWFs.
Duh tbh. you shouldn't be rewarded with a 4k for going to the unhooked injured person all over again.
-
What a dumb post.
Yeah cause survivors has a perk that can finish a gen in 40 seconds instead of 80, like devour hope can bring you down in 1 hit instead of 2.
This community and especially this forum is a huge joke, cry baby killers like the op come to cry for stupid reasons. seriously get good.

I don't believe in hex perks anymore. Devour will stand about 30 seconds against SWF, with undying it will survive for 60 seconds. Not much value. Comms and coordination help in finding totems across the map in the matter of seconds. The only hex I trust in NOED, this one is my last resort and will be my favorite in games against SWF, because those 30 seconds it will stand for it will actually bring some value.
Well, your other option is to always find the weak link.
We played as a swf today and one of my friends is a rank 11 meh survivor, if you can find that meh survivor(most teams have him, if not so yeah it's gonna be pretty.. hard to win unless they fk up for fun) then try to focus your game on him, not saying to tunnel but to go for him if you feel the game goes south.

No actually he's "not" right. I dont have to try and convince YOU of anything, stay ignorant!
Funny things is you survivor mains act like you have to deal with NOED with every killer. The killers you have to worry about that "might" have Hex: No One Escapes Death are, Trapper, Wraith, Hag, Doctor, Pig, Clown, Spirit, Oni and Nemesis.
Streamers are even going "If you do totems to get rid of a perk that you "think" a killer might have then your a detriment to your team" The top streamer actually said this, and you think thats healthy for the game? You think streamers should be telling their followers this which is pure propaganda and nonsense? Lol Im done!!!!!
I'm not ignorant.
The killer doesn't deserve free baby wheel downs if he's not good enough to catch up for the whole game.
Let him earn that boost of endgame crush by playing well in the game. this perk is dumb because it just works so easily and it's so braindead, unlike devour hope which is earned and I've never seen anyone complaining about it.

Theres Small Game, Counter Force, Detectives Hunch and a Rainbow Map in the game if your soooo worried about NOED.
The bottom line is that survivors are way too entitled, you guys just wanna rush the gens and only have to deal with Undying/Ruin then cry and call the killer that's using the perk, low skill, baby killer, garbage and other comments when NOED prox's...That is pure nonsense and ignorance! Do you guys not see your poor piss mentality? So im garbage or a weak low skill player for using a perk that activates after the 5th gen is popped or the hatch is closed end game? Do you know how stupid that sounds when survivors have Adrenaline, SWF, Kindred, Iron Will, Lucky Break and other annoying and hard to deal with perks against optimal survivors? Then to make things worse you guys have a 70%-30% advantage on maps because killer loses most maps with very few balanced ones.
You made that comment about Hydrofloric Acid to make it seem like what we are saying isnt valid when it 100% is. Your manipulating the subject to enforce your narritive, gtfo with that

You can really get to rank 1 with any killer with ease. It’s a BS ranking system and he devs themselves have acknowledged that countless times, so that’s not really a fair argument. I’ve got to rank 1 for the first time with Pig.

Sure, but there was a reason Stridor was nefred. you know why? cause every bad player could be a boosted spirit, give him another killer and he'll struggle even in purple ranks.
Stridor rewarded braindead gameplay on spirit and now it opened up some nice matches. I also played spirit to rank 1 and i can say she was very easy to learn and master but I never used Stridor on her. for me using stridor on spirit is like using noed.

Yeah because this forum is very "politically correct" and trying to satisfy everyone and be gentle and right.
NO.
Spirit who is already a strong killer that everyone hate cause of no proper counterplay, had a perk that ruined her only counterplay.
Now this perk is gone luckily, so most of these bad players don't know what to do. maybe it will help them learn some actually respected killer.

I’ve barely even used Stridor on Spirit first of all, and second of all, I’ve been begging for Spirit to get a change for a while now. You’re mentality that all Spirits are bad players is just unhealthy and egotistical.
Nah. Spirits who don't use stridor are actually good players who enjoy some easy to learn killer that still needs some good tracking and guessins skills.
You can't appreciate Spirit with stridor compared to a god blight or a nurse, cause everyone knows that a mentally braindead person can play them.
You don't see spirits now because of the bugs and because most of them(4/5 spirits I've encountered had stridor in red ranks) lost their free baby wheels that gave them free kills.
So if most spirit I've faced used stridor on an already strong af killer, so yes most spirits players are bad.
-
In order to pip in red rank you have to be a selfish survivor who runs for every unhook without bt, forcing heals on people even if they don't want to.. and escaping as soon as the exit gates are open.
-
Don't worry. Most of the time only noob killers use it cause they know they'll lose anyway so they try to get their free consulation prize with the broken perk called noed.

I play both roles equally. Spirit is just broken and easy for use even by my 10 year old brother if i'll give him headphones.
The spirit cry babies are crying for losing their precious stridor cause they're getting juked to death

-
It's because the 0 skill players who used stridor with her(80% of spirit users in high ranks) don't know what to do now without their cute training wheels, survivors like Iron will and all of a sudden they get juked to death cause they don't have their broken perk anymore to win their games for them.

As soon as I tested for Ruin at the start of the match I told her it's a bad killer (because let's be real - bad killer players always run slowdown on strong killers. I don't even run slowdown on Bubba and can't remember the last time I lost).
I was the first one to get chased and surprise surprise all the Pyramid Head did was try and zone out windows and otherwise miss 100% of the shots he actually took despite I'm All Ears (which is basically turning his power into ez mode). (it was a P3 Pyramid, too)
After running him for 2 gens he left me so I said:
"if someone else gets hooked stay on the gens - he will camp to 4k via trade hooks and tunneling/slugging"
And surprise surprise the first person he hooked got camped for the entire 2 minutes. Good thing I always bring Prove Thyself so we actually had enough time to do the gens and the gate.
Long story short: We knew it was a terrible killer so we decided not to hook rush and the guy on the hook was a good teammate and didn't even try to unhook themselves giving us enough time and allowing 3 of us to escape and send the killer home with 9k bloodpoints + depip.
People need to analyze players and react appropriately if they want to punish them. A basement Bubba is more than obvious so your teammate could have been smarter really.
Here's the post game result of the Pyramid Head game by the way (names censored for obvious reasons):

Cool story. now do it in solo queue.

That non camping killers barely get any hooks during the current "doing gens efficiently" meta.
Most of my matches survivors have completed 2-3 gens by the time the killer gets his first hook. 4-5 hooks by the time all gens are completed and the gates are powered. Something needs to be done about that, before most killers figure out that its much more efficient to camp the first poor survivor and then the next one. Since according to the hook counter, they get the same amount of hooks with less stress/work.
Basement bubbas are doing it just to be bad and toxic people, they don't care about that. just nerf this killer's way to ruin the whole game if he decides to.

Red ranked survivor who plays solo here, and we surely do not have the same experience. Unless the killers in your region are really bad and got to red ranks for some reason, that is not whats happening on my games.
What is the debate here? killer downs one survivor, takes him to basement, camps to death. that's it, it's broken and boring and only bubba is very efficent with it
