Yes technically killer should have 4x the responsibilities of survivors. At least as killer you don't have to rely on your teammates for everything.

Dead Hard is just so universal and doesn't care about maps, unlike Balanced or Lithe and is activated when the survivor chooses unlike Sprint Burst.
Decisive Strike is used to stop tunnelling (or it is by me anyway) because spme killers dont care that survivors are people too.
Unbreakable is for slugging because they've been slugged for running DS.
Prove Thyself doesn't do much at all.
Most of the Survivor meta perks are just universally applicable.
NoED is just infuriating because there is zero warning. The only other Exposure effect that isn't given to you instantly is Devour Hope. THAT is the main problem that I have.
My personal frustration with noed is that it's stronger versus solo q over swf, and that it gives a speed boost which makes it good on any killer instead of needing to have synergy to be included.
-
I wouldn't listen to salty survivors, they're just trying to get a reaction from you to make themselves feel better. Everyone is allowed to run what they feel like running.

I’ve defended you guys on here but now even I’m starting to question how much you play the game.
99% of the time NOED results in instadowns. Theres very little “maybe” about it.
It enables killers to camp and win too. They just sit around the hook making no effort to play, but it doesnt matter because if survivors rush gens as you always say then the killer gets an extra 2 kills anyway. No effort required. Just camp and NOED.
Just had a Wraith who tunneled me off hook and sat outside a locker until my DS ran out. The other survivors did gens. Didn’t matter though because he could afford to apply zero pressure because NOED got him another 2 kills.
You want to stop DS from hurting killers that dont tunnel because its not fun for them? How about stopping NOED from rewarding bad killers that make zero effort to actually protect their gens and just camp hooks or relentlessly tunnel one survivor all game.
Free kills are fine, it's the survivors' fault for not doing dulls don't ya know :))

Then you should know that after the first chase 1-2 generators will be done. And you won’t do anything about it. And in order to create pressure on the survivors, you have to camp after the first hook, so that the two survivors break away from the repair.
Camping is how you lose pressure though...

Dude, what are you talking about. How can the 65% be survivors?
The 65% (maybe overestimated) that complain about the ruin/doctor changes, believing that the balance team heavily focuses on the survivors enjoyment rather than all player's and that they heavily focus on buffing them (survivors)Survivors are complaining that the devs nerfed Ruin and the fact that the devs seem to be favoring survivors? How does that make any sense? Survivors are happy with that, they are not complaining.
The rest of your post I simply don't understand. I don't know what "stuff" you think i was "trying to pull". You seem to be saying that the nerf was bad for killers, and good for survivors, which I agree with. How did you get anything else out of what i posted. This thread wasn't even about the nerf, so not what we were talking about.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1031298#Comment_1031298
Survivors are not complaining that the devs seem to be favoring survivors., or about the nerf to Ruin.
I didn't create any camps. The OP is the one that stated that there are two different groups on the forums. I responded to that, I didn't create it.
Since survivors would not be complaining about getting, what some see as, preferential treatment, the ones complaining are killers.
That then means that the other side mentioned was either the survivors, or the survivors were omitted as a group. Specifically, the survivors that keep posting threads gloating and trying to antagonize the killer mains.
Also, since the second group mentioned in the OP was said to use "logic", implied that the other group did not, which is insulting to those that have presented well thought out arguments about why the situation was bad. Just because you disagree with the devs' choice doesn't mean that you didn't use logic to reach that decision.
This seemed like a deliberate troll thread, but the OP explained that that was not the intention, so we are good.
Hmm now that you mention it I don't see where survivors fit into either camp.

People like you have made a nerf ruin.
Do not worry, skill checks will no longer upset you
Um...thanks?
I don't play much survivor rn though
-
I love Peanits too ❤
-
Interesting...some killer players have been playing with ruin for so long they believe they can't perform well without a "crutch"
Glad you're still having fun bud.
-
Pretty easy
-
I haven't had an issue on it, not even as nurse.
-
Hmm interesting idea...but that removes kicking gens which is affected by a lot of perks.

@HellDescent said:
Because ruin gave an opportunity to killers to play nice, not resorting to perks like knockout or noed, so that both sides would have fun.
"OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY NICE"
Lmfao this bs is so funny to me for some reason. It's called "being bad" not "playing nice"
Stop defending the survivors' fragile egos and accept there is no nice way to play dbd, stop catering to the survivors' enjoyment when you know damn well almost not a single person playing dbd cares about the other players' experience.

A lot of streamers (both Survivor Mains and Killer Mains) parrot anti-NOED opinions, which a lot of veteran players like myself used to share.
It's regarded as a "training wheels" Perk and a lot of people get mad when they get NOED hit at the end of a game - especially if they've been virtually uncatchable up to that point.
It needs to be said that NOED is a legitimate Perk in the game - just like Decisive Strike and Adrenaline are legitimate.
No one will ban you for using NOED. No one can report you for using NOED (it's not an offense to use a legitimate Perk in the game). No one with any sense will hold a grudge against you for using NOED.
Especially now with Ruin being effectively gone, the old stigma that some people (again, mostly streamers) used to have against NOED is going away - but even if it doesn't, you can still absolutely use whatever Perk you want on whatever character you want and no one can say a word to you about it (and if they do, feel free to ignore them).
Anyone who starts typing novels in the endgame chat about how you have no skill and only won because of NOED is just being a sore loser (sadly, there's a lot of sore losers out there in general).
There's many more things in this game that are unfair on Killers than there are things that are unfair on Survivors, so don't feel bad and do what you want.
Thanks for saying something he's already heard 10 times over. How helpful
-
No nerf needed. Sit back and watch the babies cry, they're not entitled to escaping against doc.
-
Heal tech doesn't need to be removed, you need to kill survivors before they are at the edge of the exit gates.

How so? Jesus was in fact killed.
But he didn't stay dead
-
It's not that good because it only activates in end game, are you sure you can't put on something like bamboozle, discordance, or PGTW? Lots of survivors are cleansing dull totems anyways, might as well not allow them to make your perk useless. That's just my input, you can run it if you want, it might help you get 1 kill after you already lost and that sounds pretty fun.
-
4/10 bait
My response: it's a 1v4, so the killer needs to individually be stronger than each survivor.

I'll give you that, though it was 2 am, so meh.
Haha ok all good

I saw a post that had an image of the difference between killers above rank 10 and survivors above rank 5. Basically ranking puts survivors way ahead of where they should be atm and some recent issues have somehow skewed matchmaking.
-
I'd say he's about trapper tier. High b to low a I guess you could say.
-
The perks look great to me, but the power...how much does it pull them?
-
Grit should have a huge downside, maybe all hits that would put you into the Injured state instead put you into the deep wounds state. Defiance seems fine to me, maybe just add broken to it like other self help perks. The killer's power needs lethality, and Raven's watch needs to start out with a huge slow to compensate for its counterplay, probably 20-30% reduced repair speeds. Everything thing else can stay as is and sounds fun.
-
Keymaster seems really awesome, I might hafta steal it lol.

For the devs it is, gen speeds are also good. Killer OP.
Ah yes. Legion is quite problematic for my rank 25 friends to face, when is their next nerf planned?
-
So you just lump a bunch of killer buffs together to make it a free for all?

I have never seen a killer being mad over not giving him free hooks... Killers get mad at genrush, keys, hatch camping, toolboxes, getting looped, bad matchmaking, but never seen what you are talking about.
But I have seen surviviors complain about not getting hatch/free escape
Killers complain about not getting free hooks all the time...also known as complaining about BT or DS stopping them from tunneling during end game.
-
That would be something to consider should we ever run low on players.
-
"BUt iMmERsIon anD hOrROr"

Solo q is too unreliable. Killer feels a bit more reliable to me, and swf I can rely on my mates doing gens and bringing good perks lol. It's amazing how many solos, even at red ranks, can't manage both of these simple things.

One could say it brightens the mood yet still delivers truth & critique. Trolling on the other hand has no particular aim but to insult a person or group of people.
That's actually a pretty neat way of looking at it. Context matters as always. Thank you for educating me :)

If i didn't break chase you would tell me to not chase people for so long. Just read around in threads where people link videos of this stuff and you will see people say that. I can't do both. Also only one chase i broke in which it took me a longer time to find someone else. Every other time was less than 5 seconds.
Doc can definitely be pickier with chases, so it's best to estimate the outcomes when first choosing a gen/survivor to chase. I'm not saying you shouldn't have broken chase, I'm just saying breaking chase is better the faster you do it. I know it's hard to keep track of so much all at once and try to time doctor's shocks, but that's what we get more experienced at the game for. Maybe my entire comment is a complex git gud?
-
You're right, nothing sensible debate wouldn't accomplish in a more respectful manner. Nothing against you or sarcasm though, just looking at things logically while I'm still high.

@Aneurysm said:
You know this isn't subtle right? All these posts follow this formula. "I practically go afk and the survivors still die, killer is so braindead easy, also I refuse to play wraith/clown/trapper/etc bc they're OP"
It is kinda funny but a bit oversaturated atm.
Eh, there's nothing else interesting on the forums at these hours, so I can't blame them. Definitely still oversaturated though.
-
Randomly breaking chase for no good reason isn't good strategy. Keep gen and survivor proximity in mind, and especially god loops when deciding when to break chase. Abandoning a chase can be worth it if done early with proper foresight, but is costly if done last minute after investing too much time in it. It's mostly game sense stuff, you probably already know most of it by now.

He’s still too easy to loop
Going faster, hitting from farther, and having less cooldown just wasn't enough it seems. We must keep buffing killers until enough survivors call for nerfs right? Wrong. That puts way too much stress on the community managers and an unnecessarily long balancing process. So far it seems doc is a solid A, unless you would like to present to me extremely competent docs failing to get a 2k within reasonable constraints.

It's hard to use logic in order to justify the devs decisions when they outright say they are doing the changes for survivors, was it a case off bad wording and the patch notes poorly written who can say even in the QnA everything was to favor the survivors.
So how can you use logic to justify what the devs are doing when they are doing it for one side?
People see what they want to see. Devs can't fix that about people, and most people can't even fix it about themselves :(

I know what a troll is. You created two camps.
One camp that is complaining about the changes to Ruin and the appearance of bias in favor of survivors (ie Killers).
The other camp are "The calm spirits of the community" That "use logic to justify the devs' decisions".
Is that second camp supposed to be the survivors? If not, you left out a camp. Are you implying that those that disagree with the devs' decisions are not "using logic", and that this second camp is better than the first camp? Either way, it is insulting to a large group of people. How does that "calm the spirits" of the community? You seem to be giving yourself a lot of credit and putting yourself above everyone else. Yet, look at your angry response. Calm spirit? 🙄
This post is in no way referring to killers and survivors, I know many survivor mains (albeit very inexperienced) who think ruin and doc are too strong/weak now. You're the one setting up camps and bringing the thread down to your level.

It's showing how many Killers never even break the top ten Rank vs how many survivers hit or pass the 5 rank. Found it interesting. They should try to make the Killer more appealing to others since there's a big difference between the two.
It's a really small difference to me. 1% vs 10% would be big.
-
A charm would be nice.
-
Nope. Coddling them won't help. I do trade with my mate at the end if possible so everyone gets more points though.
-
Oh no! The devs have successfully made survivor appealing enough to balance queue times!! Smh how survivor sided of them I would rather have 30 min killer queues 😠
-
How about you wait a week or two before making major balance calls bud. At least

I think you're confusing the usage of the English language. REDUCING means to make smaller or take away from. No Killer benefits from reduced gen times. Conversely, INCREASED gen times (adding time to the total whole of the sum) would benefit killers immensely. So would requiring more completed gens to open the doors, or nerfing toolboxes and repair perks, so that they don't effect entire teams.
I said speed, not time. Thanks for reading man.
