Solos need to find 4 people 3 more survivors and 1 killer. Just like a 2 stack needs 3. And a 3 stack needs 2
Nope they don't. When I queue up as solo I get matched up with just me and the killer quite often. I don't need to wait for the lobby to fill before the queue is over.

Yeah, genrushing is literally the only counterplay you can have. But you cant really call that counter play.
Spirit issues:
- no animation when going into phasemode
- no sound cues while in her terror radius
- passive phasing removes her red stain
- while phasing, she can still get readings from survivor positioning(fast vaults, surveillance, discordance, unhooks), while survivors at best get a woosh that is maxed out 5 meters around her.
- she has an easier time hearing breathing and injured people while having the movementspeed of wraith without any downsides. Not even a stun(seriously, she would be so much better to play against if she got a stun after her ability).
- Technically not an issue with spirit specifically, but add Stridor on spirit, and you literally cannot juke her. The only thing you can do is pallet stun her, and even that is not a guarantee.
Freddy issues:
- his addons alone are disgusting, some being even basically dying light at full stacks from the start of the game, applied to everyone.
- His teleport cooldown shouldnt be loading when everyone is awake, he still gets a teleport roughly every 20 seconds even when people are awake.
- His slows are Clown's slows but better as they are pretty much permanent. The worst part? Even if you get out of the original trap, it still is applied onto you for 2 seconds. Meaning its a 3-4 second slow, when it should be a 1-2 second slow.
- Even if he uses his pallets, there is literally nothing you can tell the difference with the pallet. With Doc, they are dropped and its revealed to you that they are dropped as soon as you hit them. Freddy's pallets are not revealed untill you drop them. That difference is extremely important. Freddy's pallets literally stop your movement to drop a fake pallet, where Doc's don't. Aka, Freddy's pallets are stronger than Doc's and Freddy's slow is better than Clown.
- Then, technically, Freddy's lunge is the largest of all since his hitbox is smaller. Meaning he can reach further where other killers wouldnt hit. Meaning he can hit you practically on the opposite side of the pallet where other killers cant reach you earlier. Considering his set-up is already incredibly strong, and his addons make his kit even worse, making him by far the strongest killer in the game, towering over spirit, huntress and nurse.
Spirit counters:
Walking
Freddy counters:
Waking up

If your logic were really the case, a 4-man SWF, which only needs to find one other player, would have the fastest queues, and a solo survivor would have the same queue times as a killer.
Why don't you see if that's the case? Queue up as a solo survivor 10 times and record yourself, so we can see how long it took. Then do the same with killer.
Solos don't need to find 4 players, they need to find a killer lobby with an open spot. Same with swf. The difference is solos fit into more lobbies. Geez how do so many people get this mixed up.

Nurse is still far and away the best killer in the game.

What I am saying by your logic a 4 man should find a game as faster as a killer. Why because all they need of a killer.
All solos need is a killer. Swf's can't join lobbies where there are too many survivors, hence why in lobbies it's quick finding the first few survivors but finding the last 2 or three takes some time.

Queue times have been bad since long before “this period.” Your understanding of this can be from either your tenure in the game or by simple research.
Queue times have been bad long before Ruin got nerfed. We can all say words but what meaning do they have?

You said my logic indicates swf finding games quickly. Pretty much the same thing right?

Good one, meanwhile I can find a lobby as Killer in 0.0000001 seconds compared to a 10-minute queue time as survivor-which can only mean 1 thing. Way too many survivors, not enough killers.
I'm not denying that there is a disparity in queue times, I am denying that it is proof of anything.

In theory yes but in practice its probably not the case as outside of excluding 3/4 mans they'd need to be matched with less players then normal which should in theory speed up the match making.
4 man SWF only need to find 1 player that being the killer so they should have in theory faster if not the FASTEST ques not slower ques like you were saying.
with 2 man SWF in my experience there is little to no difference in match making times and outside of 3 man SWF shouldn't effect the match making times of others...AT ALL sense 2 mans can be matched with all other ques but 3 mans(4 doesn't count sense it doesn't search for survivors)..
3 man SWF has in theory the lowest sense they have the most limited pool needing 1 solo survivor ONLY and 1 killer ONLY.
So when examinded SWF should have faster ques and thus unhindered ques.
Solos are also allowed to join up with a lobby that has just the killer. It's not swf exclusive.

Killers do adapt. They adapted by going Nurse for high mobility, it was a serious SWF counter as it gave you strong gen control. So it got nerfed because killer metas are unacceptable.
So Killers took to using Hex Ruin so the low-mobility killers had the ability to cover the map. So it got nerfed, because killer metas are unacceptable.
Killers keep adapting and they're giving up because they know if they do adapt it'll be wiped out on principle. That's why a lot of killers are giving up and just only playing killer if they have the BP for their next mori on the bloodweb, or they don't care about rank anymore and so insidious bubba camping is fine.
Giving up is giving up, no matter what the reason.

@Toybasher said:
I've also read somewhere supposedly if a killer leaves the lobby, the lobby has very high priority to get a replacement killer and ignores the matchmaking system to find a replacement.
I think this is partially why we see rank 20 killers vs rank 1 SWF. The original killer "Assigned" to that lobby decided to dodge and to prevent the survivors from waiting much longer (Imagine waiting like 20 minutes, FINALLY finding a lobby...killer dodges.) it just shoves in the first killer it finds. Which ends up being a baby trapper with rank 1 agitation.
I knew the lobbies had high priorities, but them ignoring matchmaking logic would explain a lot of frustrations killers are having with matchmaking right now. Thanks for the contribution!

No. By that logic a 4 man would find a game as fast as killers find games, or even 2 man would find a match fairly quickly.
What? I literally said in my post that swf queue times are hindered by their size and even possibly by their matchmaking. Nowhere did I state they find lobbies quickly.

Then what is your theory on why so many yellow and white ranked killers get forced into a lobby of all red rank survivors so often? I'm currently a level 13 killer, almost all my matches on ps4 are against full red rank survivors in my matches. I'd say that 1 in 10 matches actually puts me against survivors within 6 levels of my rank like it's supposed to work. All others are against full on red ranks.
I pointed out the issue with swf matchmaking and laid out things people can speculate on for themselves. The devs have not given us a definitive answer.

Why nerf Freddy or Spirit? Both have counter play.

Using NOED is now completely justified in their eyes. They won't feel bad any more probably.

They better be some DAMN good rewards then. I have all perks on Doctor and Freddy. Unless the incentive for prestiging is really worth it, then I’m leaving those two the way they are. I still think they should just do away with prestige and have your level go up to 200. That way you get to keep your inventory and get the rewards.
If prestiging had no risk, there would be no need for a reward.

Well of course, nothing can ever be indicative of SWF being an issue. Nothing is ever to do with SWF, heaven forbid that they be the issue ever.
Everyone defends SWF, despite the fact killers are telling you all that SWF have been a severe problem for years.
The long wait times are because no one wants to play high rank killer anymore, that I am confident of. There is no fun in knowing you'll go up against SWF, they'll cheat with all kinds of info and comms, and you'll be lucky to get more than a single kill. Killers developed metas to combat SWF, e.g. Hex Ruin to slow them down, Nurse as the competitive red-rank killer, and every single time we get our meta wiped out. But SWF? oh they get to keep abusing Decisive Strike stacking, nothing will ever truly hurt them, and devs are happy to ignore it and keep milking it for cash instead.
Keep pretending like SWF isn't an issue, I'm sure the constant uptick in middle-rank killers only playing when they moris or if they just camp with bubba will magically stop.
It seems to me the issue is players refusing to adapt. Don't want to adapt to playing against higher ranks? Survivors won't have to adapt to the use of moris and NOED. Equality is beautiful my friend.

@Traslogan said:

Against SWF? Yes. Absolutely.
Killers simply have nothing to even somewhat balance SWF issues like our position and direction being reported by a hooked survivor, players telling each other when we take them off gens so that gens never decay, or people calling their friends to ensure they are following you whilst they run out in the open so that you are guaranteed to be flashlight stunned when picking them up at the end of a chase.
SWF has ruined the game, and the lack of killers and ever-growing wait times shows you that. Killers wait 10-15s for a game, survivors often wait 3-8 minutes, until some poor rank 14 gets stuck with 4 red-rank SWF
Ever-growing wait times don't show anything. It could mean that survivor is extremely easy to rank up or that matchmaking is extremely busted. One clear problem that is actually proven to be major is the swf matchmaking change. Roughly 50% of all survivors are swf, so roughly 50% of all survivors are being boosted to match with higher ranks. The other three are not proven to be problems and can only be speculated upon, not used as evidence.

Thats one thing I think is ironic. On one hand "theres no way Killer's are facing SWFs all the time...people are just complaining" and on the other hand...apparently the game will die if the apparent minority of players leave.
Personally...I really dont care about SWFs. If you wanna team up with your friends and have a fun game together...cool. Its just when it gets to the point that you and your friends' objective isnt to do what the written objective of the game is, but rather to annoy people who ARNT in your SWFs...whether that be the killer or your solo Q teammates.
How is it ironic? There's a clear difference between any and all swf and a 4-man swf swat team stacking perks and using comms. Roughly 50% of survivors are swf, while less than 10% of survivors are a 4-man swf. Out of those 4-man swfs, not all of them will be trying to stack perks and play optimally. There's no irony here.

I'm not suggesting any changes, just stating that this is a thing. Often times people take 1 look at the screenshot from endgame and go "Well, you 4ked so the game couldnt have been bad". Its like when survivors wait 20 minutes to load into a game against a cloaked Wraith sitting in the corner. "Well, you all 4 escaped...who cares if it was completely boring. Mustve been a good match".
Oh ok

@Traslogan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1278310#Comment_1278310
The game is meant to be killer biased imo, at least in as much as that the average survivor is not meant to be able to escape, rather a minority should. Yet the state of the game is that 2-3 gens be done by the time a killer gets his first hook even if he found someone within 15 seconds and only did a 30s chase, and every time killers come up with a strong meta, it gets nerfed to oblivion. We hook SWF players, they tell their friends who we're walking towards, if we double back, they play ping-pong with us on gens via comms to ensure we can't contest gens, and it's simply no longer fun, the wait times for survivors tells you there's an extreme shortage of killers now, despite the game only growing in size more and more (I think there was 42k online tonight at peak or something)
Solo survivors don't need buffed imo, solo survivors would benefit from anti-griefing mechanics being real instead of just "Oh no you camped a hook, we're gonna hurt your rank a little bit". It's just SWF that needs debuffed to mitigate all their BS
In your opinion you think killers should be stronger? Not a strong argument.

I feel like this particular video is a good example of why even when killer's technically win...doesnt mean it was an enjoyable experience. Imagine back when you were a kid for example trying to play hide and seek. You close your eyes, count to 10 and expect to spend the next few minutes trying to find the other kids. Instead you open your eyes to see them circled around you calling you a poop head... Sure, you won...you found em all, but was it fun?
Sure but how would they further prevent players from ruining the experience of others? Refusing to play normally is already punished right?
-
Knowing which of your gens are being touched is nice, but it's hard to make use of without PGTW or Ruin.
-
@LordGlint said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1278304#Comment_1278304
As far as the video is concerned, I feel like the survivor's mostly just tried to follow and annoy rather than actually play the game. In this particular case, that didnt really lend to a winning strategy on their part, but even when technically "winning", the killer was just annoyed the entire time. Follow that up with the ending of having to search the entire map as the 2 last survivors made it a goal to just drag out the game rather than try to do ANYTHING to make a play. This particular game you cant even say they were trying to outlast each other since they both hid together.
Well at least holding the game hostage is bannable. I can relate to these types of survivors being very frustrating.

See, you're right in this sense, SWF needs to be dealt with. But by doing that, you ruin solo experience. The most healthy option that is unlikely to backfire is to buff solo and buff killers accordingly. But, a balanced game would actually repel a lot of players since it'd become boring and balance changes would be pointless, so without new changes to look forward to, lots of people would move on, so I can see why the devs haven't taken this route.
How would the game being balanced be boring? Every trial is still a unique experience and there are still plenty of perks and powers to experiment with. If anything, an imbalanced game limits the pleasantness of these aspects and makes the game more boring. I think you somehow misspoke here.

There's no way to buff in ways that mimic the advantages of SWF.
Killers require buffs against SWF because they get advantages that solo survivors cannot have and that killers cannot counter through any traditional means.
There is a way to buff them, give them everything swf has. Perk coordination, totem counter, chase indicator, unhook callouts, and a killer LoS indicator are all very feasible and covers pretty much all of swf's advantages. Did I miss anything?
