  • @love As much as this may come as a shock to you, this is a well placed buff. Originally when the healing took 12 seconds, Self Care only added 6 seconds which made it take 18 seconds. The healing Nerf was a dramatic change though. With the base healing time being 16 seconds, that would add 8 seconds to the timer making SC take 24 seconds and was wasting a ton of time.

Furthermore, Sloppy Butcher got buffed. Sloppy Butcher is a statistic perk as well, and it slows down the timer by 20% which makes the SC timer take 27-29* seconds. Half a minute is a ridiculous amount of time wasted too when you consider characters like Legion who can get a extremely easy injure. SC now only will take 20 seconds, which is a great quality of life change giving survivors essentially a Mangled affect from healing alone.

The only perk you should really be questioning is Botany Knowledge, which provides a 33% increase in healing speed. Personally, I think that BK (and other healing perks like Resilience) should only set the healing penalty to 0% without a medkit in order to make sure healing isn't what it used to be (12 sec), although that's just my two sense. The new SC also affects Altruism now, so keep that in mind.

*I don't know if Sloppy Butcher applies the 20% penalty on the original 16 second healing speed, or if it affects the SC healing speed which is 24 seconds.

Edit: I addressed SenzuDuck with my initial statement after getting confused from the Spirit profile image. Sorry 'bout that Senzu, I agree with your comment.
  • @HellDescent Ok, thank you for the info!
  • Thank you very much!
  • @mgs2020 Before I get started, I would like to thank you for addressing all of my points so we are on the same page. It is appreciated.

I think that the hatch on paper is a good mechanic and the last survivor should be given the option to the hatch. 3 generators is after all a daunting, boring, and impossible task. However, the hatch in practice leads to a boring standoff no one wants. The killer tries to avoid this by slugging, where they can find the last survivor quickly with the risk of not finding them at all. That then leads to who should escape or die.

No killer is entitled to a 4 kill game. No survivors are entitled to a 4 man escape. Both have to earn it. The hatch contradicts itself though as its meant to be a free escape for survivors and the killer can't do anything to earn that kill.

I would rather have it to where both exit gates are powered after the 3rd survivor starts the sacrifice animation and both the survivor's and the killer's endgame perks get activated. The hatch will spawn closed, so a key is needed. At least the two are competing for a escape and not seeing who gets bored first.

I actually became intrigued though when you said that there is actual punishment to disconnecting. That is not true. When people are SWF, a rank 20 killer can be met with a rank 1 survivor. The ranks are all over the place. It actually does not matter what the ranks are whatsoever when you consider SWF, so a double pip derank means nothing.

And ask yourself this for a moment-does it really matter to lose points when a friend could pop a Blood Party Streamer? Or Stack Envelopes? Or just use an Escape Cake? Points are a joke when everyone is using their main with at least 30 of every item they like and are already stacked with everything they could want to buy in perks.
  • Thank you. Both of you.
  • Edit: Accidental repost of comment.
  • Once the endgame is fixed, sure. The problem involves any survivor who has selfishly been waiting for the hatch and doesn't save or do gens to get the hatch. The hatch is in no way fair to the killer when you consider SWF. The Skeleton Key, relaying information, and frankly disconnecting for their friends.

If this is to be added to solo players, fine. If we fix the hatch though, we wouldn't have this problem.
  • Xbox. I would prefer PS4 or PC though if I could get one.
  • I'd need either 30% medium vault speed increase. Would like to see it let you fast vault easier
You're aware that because vaults were too strong the devs nerfed the vaulting speed and fast vault requirements, right? Are you also aware how much harder mindgames and the chase in general would become if almost every window became safe? A fast vault is .5 seconds. With a 30% to medium vaults, they become only .7 seconds long. This is ludicrous.
  • No, although she does have DS.
  • Since Microsoft owns Xbox, it might be possible to transfer data over to PC like that. I would go their site to find out if and how that is possible. I don't think there is much else you can do besides that, unless someone else in the comments say so.
  • "You know I had to do it to them." Meme.

I'm bad at realizing sarcasm, so if this sarcasm coming from your supposed confusion, I'm sorry.
  • Wraith could just burn the survivor alive by stepping on their back and ringing his bell, attempting to bring the survivor into Spirit world.
  • That's a pretty good buff. Becomes actually usuable.
  • No offense is meant by this comment, however this is heavily encroaching, if not outpreforming, on Clown's power.
  • Spirit really depends on hearing. Stridor is good for that, although listening for grass would be more common as survivors usually want to juke Spirit with scratch marks. Typically Predator and Bloodhound don't help much, but Bloodhound is better. You want to usually get the first hit off without using the Haunting and using it for injured survivors, but if it will take a while you're better off using your ability.

As for mindgames, you can watch Ardetha and Monto. Monto doesn't really explain his mindgames, but he explains other things well. Ardetha is the more analytical one of the two and is better than Tru3.
  • This doesn't fix anything. This exasperates the Hatch problem, is a detriment to solo survivors, and still keeps the issue of a killer not being rewarded for winning a chase. This needs a rework, not a Nerf.
  • I don't think 10% increase would really affect The Huntress that much, if at all. Maybe it might affect Leatherface, but you are already basically screwed if they were vaulting while using your chainsaw so I don't see how this would make a difference.

Doing a lunge is the problem, as buffing arguably his worst weakness is going to affect him at least some. Honestly I don't know how much 10% would affect window vaults, although I don't want it affecting the slow vaults in a chase as the killer caught you off guard and deserves a hit (I'm talking about Lithe affecting mindgames where a survivor would mess up and try vaulting).
  • There's a lot of bugs with Wraith right now besides the Sloppy Butcher bug. For example, the Hallowed Blight cosmetic is fairly visible from a distance and there's that annoying weapon hit animation where it blocks most of your screen. Since he has all of these bugs, he's likely not going to get fixed until the mid chapter patch.
  • I don't believe they changed it. To narrow down the bug, did you take any unusual steps in buying them like shards or individually with money?
  • Poweas said:

Nah do it for all times. Also how would it hurt 110% movement speed killers? They lunge at the same speed and distance as normal killers.

Specifically Huntress and Leatherface. Yes, I know Leatherface isn't 110% movement speed, the problem though is that his biggest weakness is windows and buffing them only makes Jungle Gyms harder. As for Huntress, Hatchets would be much harder to hit if people could just croutch next to the window with a fast vault.
  • If they Farm you, it's a reportable offense. Forcibly taking the game in a direction you don't want to go in because of the fear of suffering punishment (DCing) is not acceptable.
  • There is...not really an answer to this. You could try Bloodhound, although I'm not sure if that works in Frenzy. Your best bet is to use something like Discordance (stop using it if survivors stop work together, you'll be wasting time) and Monitor and Abuse to sneak up on people. For add ons, I would choose Stab Wounds Study
  • I would say that it would be fine if they did the 10% over the 5%. Maybe add the vault speed increase only if you're not exhausted though, because it would be a pain for 110% movement speed killers otherwise. Plus, it makes Bamboozle a cat and mouse combination. Its a good idea.
  • @WaffleFalafel Getting to skip Paley loops arguably the worst thing a killer has to consistently deal with isn't fun?
I would argue that to have a killer who can tactically outplay survivors due to the skill needed to use their ability successfully, and not just strategic thinking would be more fun. Nurse has to predict exactly what a survivor is going to do when she telelports to them. Furthermore, the player has to have specifically the skill to be able to teleport at all because of the environment.

Clown does require strategic thinking in terms of prediction, however he does not need the timing of a blink to slow down survivors. The Afterpiece Tonic instead stays. It allows area denial and does have use, though I would argue that having played Trapper or Hag would be more satisfying as you had to predict survivors movements and herd them over to the traps. Clown just has to predict where they will be going after following the survivor, which is usually one of two or possibly three ways. To further add insult, one tonic can cover multiple paths. That in of itself harms the idea of there being any strategic thinking involved with position of the Tonic.

Clown also does not bring anything new in terms of playstyle. Sure, he can slow down survivors and that was new. The problem though is that the power does not add in any more mind games or mechanics. Spirit added a variety of mindgames to use in ways we haven't seen them before. Is she really phasing, or is she just waiting for me to vault the pallet? Should I run? These are all things Spirit causes because of her power. What goes through a survivor's mind with Clown is this: Do I want to save this pallet or use it now? There is no questioning if he is going to do anything else besides follow you with the slowdown.

Clown does get rid of looping, that's true, although the real question is what does he replace that mechanic with? Does he add mind games like Spirit? Does he encourage stealth play like with Nurse? Does he exchange time winding up a hatchet with the possibility of a hit like Huntress? No, he instead removes a mechanic of the game and turns himself into a M1 killer with extra steps.

  • @Magma_Dragoon95

    A list of important questions:
-Does he have to wait for them to go to sleep for 60 seconds or can he attack and it puts them in the Dream World automatically?
-Where's the pressure that surivors would have to stop doing objectives?
-What's to stop them from spending 55 seconds on a gen, just to vault a window?
-If his Lullaby grazes a survivor, do they go into the Dream World regardless, or is it proximity based?
-Does Freddy have to stay by the survivor for a full minute to make them fall into the Dream World, or does he have to be around them for at least 5 seconds before they start falling into the Dream World?
    -Is the Dream World permanent?
-Is the way that survivors are immediately put into the Dream World reliant on the system we have now or is it different in your idea?

Overall I think 1 minute just to interact with survivors is harsh and unrewarding if they can escape in 3 minutes. Of course, I'm only assuming that, it could be different in your explanantion.
  • Trapper is satisfying when he works. Wraith is mostly used for speed boost uncloak. Hillbilly because people like his speed and instadown. Nurse because she wins games. Myers because he is spooky and has instadown. Doctor because of playstyle versatility. Hag because of traps that teleport. Huntress because of long range hatchets and the ability to predict. Leatherface because they hate altruism or because people like that he is simple. Spirit because she can mind game like no one else. Freddy because of the mindgame with auras and the dream transition. Legion because they stab and stalk survivors. Clown just throws a bottle and stabs survivors, which honestly is not that much  different than a base killer.

Look at it this way: every other killer makes the survivor fear actually being hit or losing something from an unhook. Doc has madness that helps outside the chase, survivors could run into traps, a long range hatchets could be hurling towards you, Freddy sleeps you and gets free aura reading. Clown just slows you down. His entire ability revolves around loops, not anything else that would make a unique playstyle. He's good, just not what people are looking for in terms of fun.
  • I would say Myers with a Tombstone.
  • Just review spawn requirements. Lery's stairwell window (the one on the bottom floor that leads to the stairwell) needs to be removed. Stuff like that.
  • Altruism is the act of helping another without expecting any reward. Now, we all now that's a lie because of the death efficiency problem, however, that definition is important for a healthy mindset.
  • What if, his Lullaby puts you to sleep and the longer you're in there you have a Fear meter like the Madness from Doctor and the higher your fear the more things you see, like Doctor. So he could be like Doctor but better since his actual power would be something different.

Ok, a couple problems. The first is the Lullaby idea. Where is the counterplay? Is it Doctor where you can hide in lockers? If so, is there still aura reading on asleep survivors once they leave your Lullaby? Does the Terror Radius count as the Lullaby? How quickly does Freddy put survivors to sleep if his Lullaby is 24 meters and can travel that distance in 5 seconds? Too many questions are left in the open.

The next problem is your idea with changing the environment. Can pallets and windows still be interacted with even if it looks like a wall? Or is like Doctor where the pallets get replaced?

You also mention,"...his actual power be something different." Does that mean these other changes proposed are just effects of the actual power? Too much of this thread in general is left vague. For example, "This will make him better and more viable since he kinda sucks." This statement would be better if the user defined what they thought sucked with Freddy instead of being vague.
  • Rereading my original comment, I realize that the wording is misleading. I was not implying that the healing instant down idea would be a base kit change, yet instead a change to exposed perks like Make Your Choice, Iron Maiden, etc.

The purpose of this idea was to give them perk variety and put Legion in a place where he was enjoyable because they (Legion) were more flexible to other playstyles. Once this is done, further steps can then be employed balance Legion much like they changed Doctor.
  • Maybe switch BW with Iron Maiden so that people who try to counter BBQ with lockers get exposed.

  • Pretty sure you just spam the skillcheck button
  • Didn't read the material and thought you were complaining about getting stunned by a flashlight. No comment on your post @suffering23, I don't use flashlights.
