Good lord. Good spirits run stridor already, which counters iron will.

You got spirit, billy, freddy, nurse, plague, legion, and huntress / oni if the survivors are potatoes.

I am sure a horde of people will complain that "legion and plague are fine" but when it takes a single M1 hit to get your downs? Yeah, that's pretty strong if you ask me. Borderline perma tier 3 myers status. Only noobs can't get an M1 hit in a reasonable amount time.

Not to mention the wealth of overpowered add-ons. There are almost too many to even talk about. I would have to write a book.

Actually, Iron Will currently counters Stridor.

    The math is no longer

    • (100% x 1.5) - 100% = 50%

    It's

    • (100% - 100%) x 1.5 = 0%

And the best part is, we don't know if this is a bug or intentional.

3 years on, we need to see more, second objectives, slower gen times, even 2 killers ans 6 survivors, dark maps, something else, i mean to tempt new players and keep old ones here, something needs to be dne, BHVR you need to widen your game, make and add changes

Secondary objectives seems like a nice idea at first, until you realize survivors don't want to do the ones already in-game:

Totems: Waste of time, can be doing gens.

Healing: Waste of time, can be doing gens.

Waking Up: Waste of time, can be doing gens.

Inactive Reverse Bear Trap: Waste of time, can be doing gens.

If the secondary objective doesn't have anything to do with gens no one will do it.

Only on high mobility killers. it also may be beneficial to run the Surveillance, Ruin, POP combo for when ruin inevitably gets cleansed. Ive had more success running Dying Light, POP, an information perk like dicordance/BBQ/Thrilling, and a flex perk spot like thanto for early game if you can get the survivors injured or overcharge for more regression.

Problem with ruin, is its a hex and it gets cleansed way before the late game gets started and during the early game its not noticeable or worthy of slot. It basically makes you set up for a 3 gen if it lasts and thats only if it stays up. Dying Light and POP require you to get hooks consistently and not kill your Obsession early on, but you should be focusing on getting hooks early anyway. If your Obsession does get killed or dc's early you can make another by tunneling a DS user or any of the other survivor perks that make them the obsession after activation..

To me Ruinis essentially a dead perk now. No early game use, and as far as late game its the same as i was before, non existent.

Nonsense, it is a very powerful late-game perk. It's effects are also incredibly insidious; the survivors have no way of discovering if Ruin is in play. After a lot of internal testing, BHVR decided that the perk is perfectly fine as it is- as long as you are using Surveillance (available on the Pig for only $6.99).

I rarely hear from survivor players and if a person does ask anything related to killer balance, the same group of names rush to the post to insult the user and explain why they poster is wrong and stupid. So, are you a killer or survivor main?

That's just because most of your opinions are not very popular. This has nothing to do with sides.

Im out of this. You obviously do not understand anything about those perks and how to handle them.

Which one of us was asking for NOED to be nerfed? You know, that one perk that can be completely disabled before it even has a chance to take effect?

No, no, you're right, I can't handle perks.

Said the one with the obvious tunnel vision. Stop crying for your scummy gameplay.

"Said the one with the obvious tunnel vision. Stop crying for your scummy gameplay." he said, as he ran directly to the hooked survivor in full view of the killer. While this would usually be a move too dangerous to employ, he had an ace up his sleeve; Borrowed Time, a perk which gives players 15 seconds of damage immunity, and with no risk.

  • @LetsPlayTogether said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1054767#Comment_1054767

I wondered when the first one will call that nonsense again. DS only exists to compensate for cheap plays of killers. NOED doesnt do anything like that, cause survivors do not have the possibility to play cheap.

"DS only exists to compensate for cheap plays" he said, jumping inside and outside of the locker repeatedly.

  • Here's how I think about it. Whenever I feel like playing Killer, I can choose between:

    1. Mass amount of game breaking bugs. Potential to get a map that completely ruins my gaming experience (like the new Oni map). Incredibly slow movement speed, beaten even by survivors. Having to deal with both a cooldown and a fatigue.
    2. Play literally anyone else.

I really do not care how much """"potential"""" her power has, she's not even worth trying to learn.

    @bomb1720 said:

also as i get looped a lot i'm thinking of just letting survivors drop the pallets on me. would enduring or brutal strength be better?

i know there might be a way in using shock therapy to stop it but as a new doc i'm finding it hard.

Sorry for late reply, but I have advice for you.

The new Static Blast makes Whispers redundant, as you can find survivors very easily every 60 seconds. Hex: NOED could also be swapped for something that helps you before the end-game.

The new build based on what you've said so far would be:

    • Distressing
    • A Nurse's Calling
    • Brutal Strength
    • Thanatophobia / Sloppy Butcher

The best possible add-ons for you would be:

    • Anyone of the Electrodes, Common most likely
    • Calm

Distressing messes with your Terror Radius, making it harder to judge exactly where you are. This effect is even stronger on smaller maps. This has synergy with Calm and Nurse's Calling. Calm causes the survivors to randomly have a fake Terror Radius sound play for them, which makes it hard for them to know if they are nearby. If they decide to ignore the TR (which they will begin doing as the game progresses) you can begin seeing them using Nurse's Calling. The reason I suggest Sloppy Butcher / Thanatophobia is to increase healing times to potentially get more use out of Nurse's Calling, and also to help you slow down the game.

Because you said you are having trouble at pallets, one of the Electrodes and Brutal Strength would be best. The Electrode add-ons increase the distance you can hit survivors. The Electrodes also increase charge time, however, so it would be best to stick with the Common version (Mouldy Electrode). While you should be able to stop survivors at every pallet, Brutal Strength will be there to help you in case you mess up. I don't think you should use Enduring on Doctor, since you can just completely avoid being hit by pallets (with enough practice, anyways).

    Hope this helps!

  • Their ability to break things is simultaneously disappointing and impressive.

Also Peanits is a cool guy.

  • This is my favorite example of this, though I'm not sure if it's auto aim:

    Sprint Burst movement speed: 150%

The Pig's Ambush movement speed: 160%

You begin an Ambush attack towards a survivor, and they use the perk Sprint Burst. Even though you should catch up to them and be able to hit them (160% > 150%), your Ambush attack will be forced to end early and the survivor will get away unharmed.

  • How well the add-ons combine is highly dependant on your play style and how you like to use his powers.

For example, Iridescent Queen + King. Queen hits people with the equivalent of a Shock Therapy, and King gives debuffs when a survivor is hit with a Shock Therapy or Static Blast. This means that Queen triggers King, which is why this is a good combo.

The point of this combo, though, is to stack a large variety of debuffs. While it CAN be used to find survivors or to sometimes tier them up in madness, the King/Queen combo isn't the best possible add-on combination for those things.

If you tell us exactly how you like to play Doctor and what perks you use, we can give you more specific advice.

  • Honestly, I think Pig needs a nerf. Especially her add-ons.

Seriously, who thought an entire 1% increased chance for skill checks on Jigsaw Boxes would be balanced? And that 1% chance increase isn't even an Ultra-Rare, it's a COMMON! And Holy Hell, she even has an UNCOMMON add-on that gives a 2% increase.

    TWO

    PERCENT

Like ######### how is this even in the game? Even Bubba doesn't have anything this powerful, and he's the strongest Killer in the game.

  • During times when you use Static Blast for tiering up madness and not for tracking, M&A is actually pretty good. When the game starts, I find the first person and begin a chase with them before immediately using Static Blast. The reduced TR allows you to get within 24 meters of them before they hear you, then your TR jumps up to 40 meters and you instantly get everyone in the match to tier 1, 2 if using an order add-on.

The downside though is that it is harder to use your Blast for tracking. If you mostly use Blast for finding survivors then Distressing is much better.

  • No.

Only I am allowed to have fun.

  • "Ruin - If a gen has been untouched by a survivor for 30 seconds, the gen automatically starts regressing at 50%75/100% the normal regression rate."

Dude that would be so overpowered. Waiting 30 seconds so the gen can regress at 50% speed would completely destroy this game. The amount of time it would take a generator to regress from 50% (40 charges) would go up from 160 seconds to 320 seconds, plus the 30 seconds to activate.

Some one hold this madman back, he's trying to make Killer the power role!

  • @No_Cluie_Louis said:

why would anyone say nurse or huntress, especially nurse

For Nurse, it's the experience of playing her. She's just not fun to play, regardless of her strength. Just the fatigue+cooldown wombo combo makes her existence a miserable one.

  • I can already see one of the things about to be said:

"It's meant to be combined with other perks (like Unbreakable, Tenacity, Flip-Flop)"

This might just be my opinion, but I feel that all perks should be usable on their own. If a perk is so weak that other perks are required to get use out of it, I would rather just make a build that involves better perks.

Well, when any footage gets posted people start whiteknighting with "you didn't do the entire ritual of locating him in the magical box and praying to RNGesus while doing a handstand in the altar" because if a mechanic sucks majorly it doesn't matter if it works properly sometimes so i'm not wasting my time

No, We'll Make It gives a 100% healing bonus when you're directly healing a unhooked Survivor and any other Survivors during We'll Make Its activation period, the Anti-Hemorrhagic needle works off of a pre-set timer that's separate from the healing mechanic all together, it can't be altered or increased by any means.

I don't even need to test this to confirm that this is the case, since We'll Make It only effects healing and not the timer for healing items, if this was the case, than it would be heavily abused with no downside...

The description of the syringe says it's modified by perks and other healing speed increasers.

So do you mean you aren't ever rotating your camera to where you are running and moving purely on memory?

Aren't there small changes like trees, oil drums, wood stacks on the floor etc?

When you have the major parts of the maps memorized, small changes like trees and rocks are all you really need to think about. It gets easier with time.

  • Map tiles like LT walls, are always the exact same 100% of the time, independent of the map. I know you don't want to hear it, but "practice!" really is the answer. Eventually you will get to the point where you don't need to see where you are going.

  • @Carpemortum said:

    Because they're old terminology.

Also, slightly/considerably etc is different based on the actual metric were talking about.

Slightly longer healing may be more time added than slightly more frequent bleeding.

Not as 'old' as we all hope. The 3 Electrode add-ons for doctor used to give numbers for distance (25/50/75%) but no longer do.

It appears the chances for meaningless descriptions have increase moderately.

  • @Boss said:

As i'm now experimenting more, i've gotten to using builds with slow-down Perks more.

Yeah, i didn't use a single "slow them down" Perk in my main build.

Anyway, i'm having pretty good results overall with these, but i can use some more input from y'all.

So let's imagine: You can't equip any of these Perks in slots 1-3, and can only equip these in slot 4. (But obviously, you can only put 1 Perk in 1 slot.)

Which Perk goes in that slot?

You might notice Overcharge & Hex: Huntress Lullaby missing.

One can only have up to 10 options in a poll.

    So why those 2?

Well, they both depend on the skill of the player: If they hit the Skill Checks 100% of the time, you pretty much didn't have that Perk equipped at all.

If you love either of those Perks though, just use the "Other" option.

And of course, i'll read your comment.

Who knows, you may convince me.

P.S. I specifically say the new Hex: Ruin since i'm preparing for the future.

Unless they announce soon that it'll stay or announce a different rework, i make that Hex: Ruin the only option.

I know this opinion is pretty unpopular after its nerf, but I still love Remember Me. It works passively with no effort whatsoever to increase Exit Gate opening time from 20 seconds to 36, pretty close to double.

  • It seems too very extremely situational.

If the Killer never camps and is on the opposite side of the map any time you unhook, you wasted a perk slot.

If the Killer facecamps everyone or just REALLY wants some one dead, Babysitter leaving no scratch marks or blood doesn't do anything.

The Killer needs to be in that Goldilocks Zone of being not too close and not too far in order to get perfect use from it.

Alternatively you can just take We'll Make It + Borrowed Time and have both too close AND too far covered.

  • And they will rework his base kit and make it so you need to charge your power by hitting survivors, then make him blue and Japanese.

  • We're Gonna Live Forever, Self-Care, Botany Knowledge, Resilience. Then cry externally when I see Plague.

When some one gets downed, run over and get hit while the Killer is carrying them for ez tokens. Easier stacks then BBQ.

  • Killing Floor has some pretty good songs to draw inspiration from.

I think survivors and killers should also be able to see the auras of broken totems, so everyone knows that there's likely not another totem in that area worth caring about.

Or we make NOED's speed bonus default for killers if there's a totem left, but the perk noed still gives everyone the exposed effect. I'd also want it to show on the survivor's side the moment the last gen is done. It's honestly very annoying when it comes out of nowhere for survivors when they have no way of knowing other than "the killer's been playing kinda bad all game maybe they have noed"

It feels even worse when you cleanse all the Totems you see and they STILL end up getting NOED. This happened to me once against a Clown were I cleansed 4 (yes, four Dull Totems) and then got downed instantly. The reason I want the Totem Counter to also be added is to avoid situations like this.

  • @Sonzaishinai said:

you mean replace one perk that everyone thought was nececary with another?

I think it's better to just try and fix the core problem rather then taking away a perk slot of the killer to do it

The mere existence of a super buffed NOED would cause Survivors to choose between

    1. Cleansing the Totems and potentially waste time if the Killer isn't even using it.
    2. Put all of their focus entirely on gens (like now) and possibly suffer from it, as the Killer could now have a 25% bonus to movement speed as well as one-shot capabilities.

The entire point of making it this powerful is that you wouldn't actually need to equip NOED in order to get the benefits of it. Just having it be a thing that exists and is incredibly strong can cause Survivors to spend time cleansing Totems, which takes them off the generators.

Literally everyone on the ptb is running that kind of stuff, to assume the art devs should "play nice" because someone is testing the doctor is ridiculous, if no one ran these set ups no one would know if they make him criminally underpowered or something.

Do you think killer devs should let the last survivor go because if they kill everyone it'll be a miserable game for the survivors? No, you don't because killers aren't supposed to make the survivors life bliss, and the same goes for survivors, they aren't supposed to make it easy for killers.

    killer devs

    😂

  • There is already a second objective, but everyone would rather complain then actually do it (NOED).

  • My favorite build for Freddy is Nancy's Masterpiece + Nancy's Sketch. For perks I use BBQ, Tinkerer, Save the Best for Last, and Remember Me.

Nancy's Masterpiece + Sketch lets you teleport very often to keep up pressure.

BBQ is for bloodpoints, but the auras happen to be pretty useful.

Tinkerer tells you when a gen is about to be finished so you can teleport and defend it.

I use STBFL and Remember Me as a combo. When you attack a survivor that's not the obsession, you get nothing from Remember Me. If you attack the obsession with STBFL equipped, you lose stacks. When you have both STBFL and Remember Me, you gain something when you attack anyone.

Unrelenting is one of those perks which was never intended to be top tier - its primary function is to make the game easier for new players. The reason no one uses it at high ranks is because good killers don't miss attacks very often, meaning that the better you get at killer, the more useless a perk like Unrelenting becomes.

There is something I've never understood though. If Unrelenting exists for the sole purpose of helping new players, then why do you need to unlock it?

In order for a new player to gain access of Unrelenting, they need to play the game and earn bloodpoints. The way they are going to do that is by doing things like, oh I don't know, attacking the survivors. By the time they can get tier 3 Unrelenting they should already have a basic understanding of how the mouse 1 button works, and possibly even 4 perk slots and better perks then Unrelenting.

If the devs actually wanted this to be a perk to help new players then all killers should start with it, along with their teachables, right?

I'm not expecting you to be able to answer that, I'm just ranting I guess.

  • You have to remember that NOED has a chance to never activate, cause they can destroy the totems before the gens are done.

The slugged survivors should also have their auras revealed.

  • They said that hitting the survivor on the hook is a thing they want to be in the game.

Also, if your are the killer and they are hiding in the hooked survivor, that's a good thing. They are enabling you to very easily camp 2 survivors at once, 1 of them in the process of dying. Just sit there and let them get to 2nd phase / death while the other survivor thinks he's hot #########.

  • They will do a stream, then give everyone a PTB that has the Doctor nerfed preemptively, and then nerf him even further on full release.

    I wasn't going too . . .

Though I couldn't help pointing out the lack of response to your post.

    • No disrespect to the developers 'Almo'
    • No disrespect to the trustees 'Fibijean'
    I had too . . .

Point out how the 'powers that be' always respond to the safe posts.

    Such as those which are

    • Half-baked . . poorly written
      • Easy to dissect and detract from the argument being made

While I can appreciate developer and trusted members taking time to respond, if they only respond to posts that can't hold a candle to the structured and well thought out posts of others then whats the point?

    We want . . .

Meaningful dialog with developers and the like with those who have the knowledge and forethought to have a noteworthy conversation.

    We don't want . . .

Developer responses to posts that are

    • Poorly written
    • Half-baked

When it's hard to articulate what one writes in a post, even if we get the gist of what they are trying to say and you chose that post to respond too . . it's a bit of a slap in the face.

Many forum goers respect developer and trusted member responses. You can't and shouldn't respond to everyone, but at least respond to those that have some substance.

    No disrespect to anyone ! ! !

Everyone has a right to post their feelings and thoughts, but the cherry picked responses are truly aggravating.

    • Bonus - even when Peanits posts. Don't bother responding because 9/10 times you won't get one back.

Point being when a developer decides to respond you can't miss it. Within should be an eye opening "Aha" moment to gain some sort of insight of where the developer is coming from.

Usually, it's a post structured in a safe way to prevent any kind of backlash, which usually means a mundane response, but even when clever members poke holes in what a developer says you next to NEVER get a response.

    TL;DR

    Developers please

    • Stop cherry picking and only responding to trivial posts

Not saying Cymers post is the best example, but it was structured with well thought out points and I couldn't wait to see the developers/trustees response since multiple posts within this thread were addressed a few times . . . Not surprised this one was 'overlooked' /s

If they spent all of their time responding to the hundreds of posts and messages they get daily, they wouldn't have any time left to actually work on the game.
