So you're telling me there is a naked clown in the files somewhere? 🤔
-
DBD has serious design flaws that they are only barely fixing with perks.
- Repairing generators is the most boring part of the game, but also the main objective that's required to win.
- The most fun thing as survivor is getting chased, but the main objective incentivizes avoiding chases as much as possible unless you are trying to distract the killer.
- The most fun thing to do as killer is chase a survivor, but if you don't prioritize protecting the generators you could lose.
- The most optimal strategy for killer is usually camping and tunneling survivors out of the game as quickly as possible.
I would come back if they completely remade the game from the ground up instead of releasing perks to half-ass fix these problems, but that's not happening.
VHS seems to have fixed these problems, so I'm just waiting for that to come out then I'm done coming back to these forums.
-
Just ask them.
If asking them why you are blocked is somehow enough to immediately end the relationship, it wasn't going to work out.

For the love of god when will people stop repeating this stupid myth? Hitboxes are not an issue. It is latency. And that is something that is literally unavoidable and inherently cannot be removed. BHVR has literally explicitly explained this before repeatedly. The below is an explanation from Peanits, the community manager. Before someone asks a dumb question like “Why don’t they just make more hitboxes for each body part of the survivor,” the reason they don’t is because the more hitboxes you have, the more computing power and load it requires and it makes the game tremendously more demanding. Every single hitbox has to constantly check for collision with any possible object. Also because they don’t want different characters to have advantages and disadvantages off of size and shape of their hitboxes if that was the case.

It's so weird, games like tf2 with 24 people in one match can manage hitboxes easily, but this game with 4 survivors is "too much computing power".
-
Any object in between your camera and Ghost Face stops him from being revealed, including your character.
If you rewatch the video, you will see that your head was covering his body.

Oh yeah dont forget that the "Great wall of china" can literally be hit through if the survivor is close enough to it. Killer mains whine so much about maps and then refuse to point out the actual broken ######### in it that helps them
"if"

They had to collect 5 years of data to see if that change was necessary, that's probably why it took them that long.
It took them this long because they have people like you, who defend them when they refuse to do even the most simplest of tasks.

Gen speeds would probably not even have to be nerfed by much, given Survivors would be 'dead' quicker (you're cutting out carrying & hooking).
I think the removed carry/hook time would be cancelled out by the fact that none of the survivors have to invest time in rescuing their teammate though, so I think you'd still have to nerf gen speeds a bit.
I personally wouldn't really like this idea, because I enjoy sneaking my way past the killer to go for a safe unhook, but I can see it working. I think VHS does something like this.
This is one of the reasons I'm moving to VHS the moment it comes out.
I feel like the main thing holding this game back and causing multiple balance issues is hooks.

Where was I shaming anyone for using Lightborn? I actually think the perk sucks and was just trying to explain why
He appears to have a grudge against you personally, he comes out very aggressively towards you for simply disagreeing and then calls you out for insulting him for a condition you had no possible way of knowing he had.

No. Hackers.
Because having the game not be free is really hindering them...
-
They balance around new players only. At low skill level, Killer has a massive advantage and survivors can't loop. For the brand new survivors with no experience whatsoever, god pallets are the only way they can survive longer then 10 seconds.
-
No one even cleanses totems anymore, just boons. What is the point of this perk?

Not seen any of those.
Made this real quick, just for you! ❤️
-
They tried to create an addon that gave Nemesis +1 zombie, but their game runs so poorly that this wasn't possible.
-
Activates on regressing generators.
So not just kicking gens, but also perks like Hex: Ruin cause gens to become Overcharged.
-
Spirit keeps her booty out on full display, and you're telling me she is C tier?!
-
The main thing stopping them right now is probably their old, outdated UI.
It takes so incredibly long to go through multiple pages of charms, with the game freezing after every page.
-
It needs to have perk levels.
You get crushed under the pallet and die for 1 / 2 / 3 seconds.

Did you just call Iron Maiden a meta killer perk?

I binged dbd a lot and it never happened to me on ps4.
Still, it does cause fans to go crazy and I don't doubt this could happen to some. This person seems extremely unlucky imo to have both ps4 and ps5 die like that.
I'm thinking it might not be luck, but poor ventilation. Like the fans weren't enough to cool the systems down, so they died.
-
That sounds to me like it can be an overheating problem.
Very high heat for long periods of time can destroy computers, and DBD runs like absolute ass.

Can i ask how many cheaters you've encountered in the past week, and if you have been ddos'd and/or swatted?

They are a small, poor indie company and can't afford to fix this.

Stop comparing boons to hexes, hexes have a much bigger impact on the game. Boons take significant time to relight and only 1 second to snuff, it’s also pretty damn loud and bright. Idk what’s with the “you can only hear and see if near”. Every time i play killer it’s like a beacon and constant ringing in my ears.
Capitalize on the time they take on boons, capitalize on their greediness for the need to constantly want to run back and boon it again.
There is counter play, and it is fair. No matter how you guys try to spin it. Annoyance and change of play style is not a reason to nerf something.
There is no "time" to capitalize on. You need to be protecting gens at all times, and cannot run away from the gens to find survivors blessing totems.
Survivors have infinite time to do whatever they want, because the killer cannot leave the gens. They can relight totems as many times as they please.

Ok so it's probably best not to play for a while isn't it?
I would say play never, personally. I'm just here on the forums until VHS releases.
-
Some one got swatted already.
That requires doxxing, which answers that part.
-
Exhaustion just needs to be increased. The perks being strong is fine, the problem is that they are available too often. Instead of being 40 seconds at max level, it should be 60 seconds, with no nerfs to the effects themselves.

If the survivor is helping the killer find / attack the survivors, it is reportable. If I remember correctly, the killer does not get punished for this. You can open up a ticket at https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us with evidence of griefing.
Note: May take several months for action to be taken, assuming action is taken.

i wish there were better games in the genre just so that BHVR was forced to make better decisions. But sadly.. there isn’t. It’s of course subjective and all, but ultimately none of those games actually survived because of various reasons. And DbD is still here and strong going despite it’s many flaws.
VHS looks promising.
-
The Twins in general just feels clunky. It's like they didn't even test them.
-
I just want them to add Feng so they can make a joke about him putting his game face on.
-
An idea that I heard before was that it would cause the Deep Wounds status effect to deplete faster, but that would only really affect Legion.

Nope, I've seen the same handful of people trash talking the game while they talk about how they are taking a "break".
Like, when people quit a game, they usually move on to something else. Let alone stay in that game's forums.
Sure, I'll just move on to Evol- oh, or maybe Friday th- hmm...

Windows of Opportunity honestly seems pretty great now for survivors. Knowing precisely where you can run when a chase starts is huge!
Ironically Zanshin Tactics doesn’t seem to be as popular for killers even though it’s basically the same ability. I think it’s because the survivor is the one leading the chase and the killer is responding to what the survivor does, so the killer knowing a vault or pallet is coming up isn’t quite as useful to them as the survivor knowing where the closest vault or pallet is can be to them. (Although it is interesting that Zanshin Tactics shows the killer where the breakable walls are, which might be useful to know to weaken loops ahead of time… I might have to give this a go sometime…)
Zanshin Tactics doesn't slow down gen speed, and is therefor useless.
Windows of Opportunity can help survivors lengthen chase time, which helps the team with gen speed.

What are they doing that's bullying?

I was thinking that with the struggle phase change, Camaraderie could be tied to Activate Ability or secondary action. Would be very easy to activate in between skill checks.
No activation, it just works.
-
It should just work, without needing anyone to be close by.

@AGM said:
Not as they are now. I would however be in favor of nerfed versions becoming base kit and then tweaking the perks to give them more appeal. Like, 60 seconds of blocking the 3 furthest gens at base, and then bringing Corrupt increases the blocked gen time by 90s. And for Kindred, only the survivors being able to see each other when someone is hooked would be base, but bringing the perk reveals the killer's aura if they are within 24m of the hook.
Something like that I could get behind.
Agree with this.
Change Corrupt Intervention to add 20 / 25 / 30 seconds, and Kindred to just reveal the Killer's aura when within 8 / 12 / 16 meters of the hook, then add whatever's left to regular play.
-
This game is an abusive relationship.
They lie to you constantly, sometimes directly to your face. They are always asking for money, yet never do anything to pay you back. They make promises that they know will be broken, then give you half-assed excuses for why things haven't improved. They expect you to deal with their issues every day, but when you have a problem it can take months or even years for it to be addressed, assuming they even get around to it.
But you stay with them because you remember the way they used to be and hope that some day things will go back to normal, not realizing that this is the new normal.
-
Clown is the only killer I use it on, it really needs to be buffed.
It's pretty good on Clown, the combination of slower move speed for the survivor and faster breaking speed for you means they make less distance.
While Enduring could be a good alternative, I noticed that just causes the survivors to pre-drop more pallets, as Enduring is used commonly with Spirit Fury.

I love how he said "We all have over 5K hours on average, we are not that good".
Expecting all killers to win easily against these kind of survivors is what he actually wants. Unbelievable.
A game requiring spending years of your life, becoming acquainted with PRO LEVEL friends to have a chance at winning is not balanced. In fact, it is not fun at all to lose every match because you don't stand a chance due to killers being overpowered.
That is DBD right now.
You main Nurse.

because they are disabling the boon perks but not hex perks now, and only the one healing boon, the one that makes it so you actually bless totems and put the ring up (which i would THINK would be the one that actually causes crashes) is left on, the only one that was disabled was the one that allowed survivors to heal in the ring, which is what people in forums were complaining about before it was outright disabled, is that all it takes to get perks disabled? enough people complaining about it? then an excuse is made that it crashes something?
and the main point i was trying to make which was obviously lost on you, is the devs werent even trying to fix the issue in the past, and now with it affecting the killer they fixed it immediately, and on the same note, if it really is the uncleansable totem thats the problem, why make it so you can still go to the map at all? they clearly have the ability to disable maps in rotation, but they are choosing to leave them in rotation just not offerings, its the illusion of doing something to help the community while pandering to one side, and if the other side gets more vocal maybe theyll be swayed maybe they wont, but money talks, does it not?
How dense can you be?
Unless this is master bait from an experienced troll, in which case good job.

I was actually so happy with how the mid-patch update was looking, and I genuinely believed they were turning things around and finally listened to us. I was actually thinking about buying the $100 Auric Cell pack and getting a whole bunch of cosmetics because I was so happy for them and their improvements.
Then they did this.
