  • I run Breakdown on Yui and will run Lucky Break on Ace and Any Means Necessary on Adam. I really don't care about efficiency over just having fun. And these perks fit those characters personalities the best.

  • I'd wait to see how Doctor's rework goes before deciding, which is why I didn't vote.

Personally, I enjoy Doctor more. His add-ons give much more versatility to his power than Clown, he has better tracking, and he's just more fun.

That's not to say Clown doesn't do his job. If played right, he can shut down loops before they really begin. Other than that though, he's just boring to me.

Again, wait for the rework before coming to a decision.

  • Given to me by Xbox Live, stuck ever since.

  • Demogorgon was the first monster because BHVR wasn't sure how they could handle monstrous Killers. As it was, Demi required an entire new rig, which cost more than usual (I believe). This called for new animations as well.

We'll likely see more monsters in the future, since they have proven that it is possible. But they'll likely be less frequent for those aforementioned reasons.

  • If it wasn't for FNAF introducing me to horror, I would probably never look at DBD. If it wasn't for DBD, I wouldn't be the horror fanatic I am now. If for no other reason, I would like a chapter for that.

Outside of that reason, taking a look into the actual lore of FNAF shows that it is MESSED UP. You have a business man going around in a yellow rabbit suit killing kids, whose souls end up possessing the animatronics, eventually hunt down the business man, trapping him in the completely unsafe suit he was wearing, before being melted down into other animatronics which eventually end up burning in a fire in the sixth game, along with that same business man, his daughter (who was indirectly killed by him), and his first victim who was responsible for possessing the animatronics in the first place. I've missed so many details it's not even funny. This is not kid stuff.

William Afton (the business man) could easily be taken by the Entity during that final fire (he's literally told that the darkest pit of Hell has opened to swallow him whole). Give him his rabbit suit (I think the FNAF3 suit would be best) and a knife (or whatever he used to kill, I can't remember if it's specified) and come up with a power. Could easily be a paragraph (I don't think there's enough to make a chapter here, no Survivor, maps aren't big enough, and we all know the biggest complaint of Ghost Face's "chapter").

And to those that don't think he would fit in to the current cast... uhm... Let's see here... We have a gang of teenagers, a Babylonian priestess, a dream demon, a largely naked, chopped up, blue ghost lady, a clown, a mad scientist doctor, a psychopath newspaper, a samurai, and a literal monster from another dimension. A psycho in a rabbit suit would fit in just fine, and Huntress has so many skins that change her mask, I see no issue there.

Now for the admitted issues FNAF has. As said before, it would have to be a paragraph (which would mean 2 Survivor Paragraphs with Bill and Ash and 2 Killer Paragraphs with Cannibal and Afton) unless BHVR wants a repeat of Ghost Face's bad publicity. Second, the FNAF fanbase is one of the cringiest things that exist. Slightly better than Fortnite's, but not by much. That would easily drive people away. And making a unique power would be pretty hard (not that BHVR seems to care with Ghost Face and Oni being a mix of existing Killers). Finally, Afton is really the only character who could realistically fit in the game. Yeah, there's the animatronics, but they don't really have much in terms of backstory that Afton has.

So to end this, do I want a FNAF chapter? Yes. Do I think one will ever happen? No. Not in the near future at least.

  • It feels like every other Nea just wants to cause trouble. Some are good, I just see them as the most often toxic (especially since Claudette's dark cosmetics were nerfed).

  • Finally completed Evan's Archives (I've been way too busy these past few months), so I can finally add that info and correct a few more things.

  • Dwight - 20 sets + Christmas Sweater

    Meg - 22 sets + Christmas Sweater

Claudette - 20 sets + Christmas Sweater (only has two yellow sets for some reason)

    Jake - 17 sets + Christmas Sweater

Nea - 19 sets (5 of which with no head cosmetic) + Christmas Sweater

    Laurie - 1 set

    Ace - 17 sets + Christmas Sweater

    Bill - None in store

Min - 17 sets (5 of which with no head cosmetic) + Christmas Sweater

David - 17 sets (5 of which with no head cosmetic) + Christmas Sweater

    Quentin - Nothing

    Tapp - 4 sets + Christmas Sweater

Kate - 13 + (5 of which with no head cosmetic) Christmas Sweater (also only two yellow sets)

Adam - 11 sets (8 of which with no head cosmetic) + Christmas Sweater

Jeff - 12 sets (7 of which with no head cosmetic) + Christmas Sweater

    Jane - 13 sets + Christmas Sweater

    Ash - 3 sets + Christmas Sweater

    Nancy - 2 sets + Christmas Sweater

    Steve - 2 sets + Christmas Sweater

    Yui - 11 sets + Christmas Sweater

And this is just counting the in-game store, and makes no mention of the cosmetics that they already have. Might be a miscount somewhere but I think it's clear. Claudette, Meg, and Dwight need to slow down and let the others have some fun.

  • Just want to say that, unless I'm blinder than I thought I was, I also don't see Ace.

  • Now for a serious answer.

My feelings on this are quite mixed. On one hand, trying to test out new characters at high ranks, or just playing a character you're unfamiliar with at high ranks tends to be more pain than fun. I'd be all for an unranked mode for this reason.

On the other hand, when matchmaking doesn't pair green rank Survivors with rank 20 Killers (which has been about 70% of my Survivor games recently), it actually does help separate skill level, it's just a little botched right now. Having an unranked mode would be much worse than the current situation, as you'd have brand new players going against people who have been playing for literal years.

My real answer will be no. Trivago was just too tempting.

  • A while ago, my internet was somewhat flaky. This caused unintentional disconnects every now and then.

Also, infinite loading screens, when they were an issue.

  • If I could wipe around 98% of the memes I've seen these past 4 or so years from my mind, I'd be MUCH happier.

So, basically everything, since they're all I see and hear from the things I watch and my friends that know I'm several months behind on the latest memes.

  • Haven't BHVR already confirmed that at least one of their characters is gay? Or am I going crazy again?

And then there's a major issue with your perks. Are we talking biological sex? In that case, you pretty much completely alienate transgenders. Are we talking psychological (not sure if that's the right word) sex? In that case, literal hordes of complaints will come in because their favorite character is trans (or not trans, works both ways).

I like the concept, but it could never work.

  • I would like to say Adam, since he's my favorite, but then I remember that Bill sacrificed himself to save his team. So I'll have to vote for Bill.

  • If they're doing what they say they are and bringing all Killers to the same add-on count (4 brown, 5 yellow, 5 green, 4 purple, 2 red), Cannibal, Huntress, and Hillbilly are next.

Besides, Cannibal needs to learn that sharing among Killers is forbidden (most of his add-ons are Hillbilly's).

  • I like most of them. But the detail provided by Clown is what sells him to me.

Though I do enjoy both the Plague and Oni's lore as well.

  • He's one of the best looking Killers and his lore is on point.

His power is just a mix between Myers and Hillbilly though, and what the hell is even going on with that map?

Still, I think the positives somewhat outweigh the negatives in this case.

  • I'm a completionist, and if I didn't have them, I'd be going insane. And shards take too long to reliably get, so I spent money. As I always have, and always will. Just the way my brain works.

Also, the Oni is unintentionally the greatest Killer ever for me (my chem teacher's last name was Oney), so points for that.

  • If I could vote for two, I would.

But I feel Alien would feel more natural in DBD than Predator, so I choose Ellen.

Don't get me wrong, I would love to see Predator as well, but I'd prefer to see Ellen over Dutch. We already have a soldier with Bill.

  • As Kagari and Mandy have already said, the game is 18+ (well, 17+ for me, but still). Therefore, they have no responsibility to protect kids who, realistically, SHOULDN'T EVEN BE PLAYING!

If you seriously think BHVR can do anything about the choice parents make to allow their kids to play these kinds of games, you are dead wrong.

If you want to say that about games, then you should say the same about movies. Do you seriously think that it's the producer's fault that parents bring their children to see R Rated movies? No! It's the parents. They can either pay attention and not bring their kids, or they can ignore it and face the consequences.

What you are suggesting is for BHVR to put in a age restriction system, but you know what could easily happen? Either the child gets on their parent's account, OR THEY LIE ABOUT THEIR AGE! The same thing could happen the other way around, with an especially creepy old dude lying about his age to play with children.

Besides, how would you make the age bracket? Change blood to colorful rainbows? Remove moris because of how violent they are? Remove the hooks and replace them with time out corners? The game is violent, and will always be violent. That's the nature of horror.

Blame the terrible parents, not the company that has no obligation because the rating SHOULD be enough.

  • The biggest problem the Legion had the first time was the Deep Wound timer being deactivated outside a chase, therefore, allowing the Legion to literally break the game by simply moonwalking.

Deep Wounds was always their problem, but now it has been fixed, kind of.

I'd fix them by returning blood stains in frenzy, because it makes NO sense that they can't see them. Scratch marks being hidden makes sense, since you lose concentration. But you don't need to concentrate to see blood.

I'd also have missed stabs in frenzy to drain the power more, but not completely take you out of it. I know from experience how much lag can screw you over with that.

Finally, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, REDUCE THAT STUN FROM 4 SECONDS TO 3!

Just how I'd handle it. Someone else could probably think of a better way to go about this, but I like Legion's aesthetic. Yeah, the trailer was deceiving (and should have been thought over more carefully), but everyone with half a brain knows that disguise killers will never work.

  • I think it's going to be Wraith, but I want some confusion put away on Hillbilly. Even just in-game confirmation that his name is Max would be good. Out of the three original Killers, he's got the worst backstory.

  • Why is everyone trying to overcomplicate this.

It's pretty simple. The events after Season Three of Stranger Things will never happen in the DBD universe.

Just like how everything after the original Halloween will never happen, everything after Texas Chainsaw Massacre will never happen, Left 4 Dead 2 will never happen. Since bodies seem to disappear (they never found Adam, Jane, Kate, Jake, or Meg, even after searching), we can safely say that the chronological events after Amanda's death in Saw 3 will never happen (or at least be changed a bit, since it wasn't TOO important to the rest of the story other than Hoffman becoming the main villain).

In other universes, these events might still happen, but not in DBD's.

  • I was playing Claudette (base skin, no cosmetics) for the "Escape with Claudette" Tome I Challenge. We went against a campy Leatherface on the Asylum map. He killed one person with two gens done and hooked a Quentin (I believe) in the basement and went Insidious in the corner. He got genrushed because, guess what, Quentin had Kindred.

After Quentin is dead just before the last gen is done, Dwight and I head to the closest door, and I begin to open it. NOED hits Dwight, and he is hooked right next to the door. Leatherface comes after me, and I, SOMEHOW, managed to avoid every single hit he could throw at me and take off to the other door. Except I actually turned around at the asylum and snuck back to the half-open door.

He continues camping, and Dwight dies. Leatherface then walks off to the other door, and I immediately jump on my door. Finish opening it JUST as he gets back, avoid his swing, and got the hell out of there.

Also got the achievement for escaping as the obsession without being hit, so that's cool.

  • This happened a little over a year ago. One of my dogs was outside, and I went to bring her in. She just stood at the bottom of the steps staring off to the right, growling at something with her hackles raised. This was unusual, since, unless you are way too hyper and get way to close, she's super friendly and loves to play.

I go down the steps to grab her leash to pull her in, and I hear the CREEPIEST growl I have ever heard to the right of me, before something started scampering off into the neighbor's yard. The best way I can describe it is some sort of weird boar. Here's the thing. WE DON'T HAVE BOARS WHERE I LIVE!!!

I haven't heard that noise before, never heard anything like it since, and really don't want to hear it again. Something tells me that if I didn't get there at that exact moment, something horrible would have happened.

  • If we were talking thematic to Jeff, I would say Distortion, since it aids in the whole "Quiet" part.

But that's not what this is. The fact stands that Distortion just doesn't have enough tokens to be effective and you could go the entire match without it activating once if the Killer has no aura-based perks, or it could go super fast that it was wasted either way.

Breakdown's only real use is to combat camping, and there are much better perks to do that, like Borrowed Time or Decisive Strike.

Aftercare is just a million times more useful, giving you incredible awareness after healing someone, and they get that same information on you. This considerably helps out with the lack of communication in the game.

  • It's a tough one between Nurse's and Thanatophobia. Could easily go either way depending on who I'm playing.

  • I was actually thinking about this the other day. Not just with Yui though. Feng Min has been described by Benedict Baker as a lone wolf. How do we know that it's not because of a language barrier? She could possibly be a very outgoing character, but she might feel like an outcast due to only knowing Chinese, and as such keeps her distance.

    Something interesting to think about.

  • Easily Killer.

Like the vast majority of others have said, managing 4 Survivors at once is ridiculous, especially if they're well coordinated.

Sure, with Solo Queue Survivor, you have questionable teammates (like the Dwight that pulled me off the basement hook... three feet away from the Huntress), but you have so much more room for error. Not much stress, just boredom for most of the match.

I have no friends, so I can't comment on how SWF is, but I'd imagine it's even less stressful.

  • The issue with a spider isn't how much it would scare arachnopobes (I have severe coulrophobia, and Clown didn't keep me away). The fact is that it isn't humanoid. Yes, Demogorgon isn't human, but it is humanOID.

The only way I see a spider killer working is if they cross it with a human, like a Drider or Chitine from D&D.

Not saying I don't want a spider killer, because it would be really cool. But non-humanoid Killers work with Last Year because their Killers don't have to carry people on their shoulders constantly. Plus, people would go after BHVR claiming they copied Elastic Games, and they don't need that publicity.

  • Wasn't the first time we saw Kate when she was being stalked by the Clown while playing her guitar? Does this mean that Kate is secretly related to Kenneth Chase?

They wanted a character who could fit in with the chapter.

Look at the last few chapters.

Darkness Among Us gave us a direct link between Legion and Jeff, and their themes match up. Jeff is the big, strong, scary guy, but he's just a sweet teddy bear. The Legion are the last people you would expect as horrible monsters, but here they are.

Demise of the Faithful's connection isn't as strong, but both Adiris and Jane strongly believed in what they were doing, until it was too late to stop themselves.

Going as far back as Shattered Bloodline, where Rin was introduced, both Adam and Rin had ties to Japan. Where Rin's family line was shattered by her father, Adam lost his father at a young age, and we never hear about his mother. Bloodline shattered.

Now, Cursed Legacy. Kazan was the start of the curse that affected the Yamaoka's, leading to a cursed legacy. How about Yui? She had a strong following, and left a lasting legacy behind her when she vanished. But how did she get there? Disowned by her father, pick on by the boys of Hida, unable to find a real job in Nagoya, forcing her to spend the last of her grandmother's money in a last ditch effort to follow her dreams, attacked by a stalker, severely injured by said stalker. Sounds like that legacy was pretty cursed to me.

Also, how exactly would Kazan even know about Yui when they are several centuries apart? Last I checked, the Killers have no access to the outside world once they are taken.

  • It would go a little like this.

    SWF 1: Hey, Bob.

    SWF 2: Yeah?

SWF 1: Are you the Kate approaching me?

    SWF 2: No.

SWF 1: Okay, time to go.

Fact is, the second they realize its the disguise Killer, SWF will completely negate it with simple questions like that.

  • Nea moved to America, how could she tag Crotus Prenn if it is in England?

Sally could easily be of English descent, but it doesn't mean she isn't American.

Assuming that hillbilly got taken years before the sillo was torn down why would the entity copy things from the future.

I can see where you're getting at, but you also have to remember that time isn't linear in the Entity's Realm.

Again, Coldwind Farm is all over the place.

  • @grayon444 said:

In one of the lores for torment greek it says the fallowing: ''The Silo is one of the oldest remaining buildings that made up Coldwind Farm. The great storm of 2003 brought the ancient structure crashing down. It was weeks later that searchers discovered twelve bodies that were buried in the ruins. Their crushed corpses were buried deep in the slurry that oozed out from the base and made identification almost impossible.'' Which leads me to belive Hillbilly is from the early 2000's.

"The centrepiece of Coldwind Farm, the Farmhouse, stood proudly over the fields of golden corn for decades. After the horrific events of 1972, the building fell into disrepair and eventual ruin. The Farmhouse is now nothing more than a forgotten, former home where holidays were once celebrated."

This is what the description for the Thompson House says. A storm may have come in in 2003, knocking the silo over, but the actual murders of Hillbilly's parents was likely in 1972.

To be honest though, the entire Coldwind Farm realm is confusing, because it also says "Coldwind Farm was widely known as it spanned two counties. Mr and Mrs Adams put a lot of work into the farm, but all those blisters and sweat paid off. But for some reason, one day in 1946, products stopped coming."

We've got three years that directly conflict with each other. I can easily explain the 2003, but not the 1972 against 1946, outside of early lore that wasn't changed (like not giving Hillbilly the name Max Thompson Jr. in-game).

op, i have just noticed the red jacket for Frank (the one called "Fairview Varsity Jacket") has 1993 written on the back.

Could be an older jacket of his.

Unless they are explicitly shown to be canon (like Susie and Joey, or Kazan's unreleased wolf-themed armor), I don't count cosmetics, and the Legion was definitely on Earth after 1993, as I said shown by Susie's sweater and the photograph that sends you to Ormond.

    Not a bad find though.

  • Oni-Yamaoka is in. Along with a slightly confusing history lesson on Japan that I hope makes sense.

  • I will take what few Bloodpoints it gives me, thank you very much.

Using this logic, then what about Plague/Adiris? The only "violent" attempt she had was cutting off a toe so someone wouldn't be able to get the plague. Adiris never had any violent intentions and actually left her home so people wouldn't get sick since Adiris had the plague. Using your logic, Adiris should be a survivor and not a killer.

Look at the date I posted that. Then compare it to when Adiris came out.

Adiris being a Killer has confused me to no end, and I even say on my Killer Timeline post "WHY DID THE ENTITY TAKE ADIRIS??? NEVER ONCE DOES SHE KILL SOMEONE!!!" (you can go look for yourself, it's on the second page of Lore).

I think Khorzad has it right though. She was desperate, and the Entity heard her prayers. She was given eternal life and new powers, in exchange for sacrificing deceivers to her god (Babylon had about a couple hundred, so which one is a bit hard to determine).

  • "The story never once depicts Yui in a negative way."

Seriously? SHE LITERALLY BREAKS THE LAW DURING THOSE RACES!!!

Not going to college makes her unable to find an actual job. Quote from her backstory that says this: "She could only find low grade clerical work or minor jobs as a hostess." Of course she went to racing, it's the ONE thing she's good at.

"Manages to overpower an armed an armed assailant even though she has never had any experience fighting in her life." Did you skip over the surge of adrenaline she had? Have you HEARD what adrenaline and the desire to survive does to people? Did you read the amount of damage she took? Another quote: "X-rays revealed she had broken her arm and foot in several places."

Look, I will agree that her backstory is a bit on the feminist side, and I tend to dislike these stories myself. But she still has flaws. She is only good at one thing, so of course she's going to use that to help others. Yeah, she fought off her stalker... with pretty severe injuries. Oh, and that one thing she is good at. She still had to read her grandfather's manual to help herself get better. She was passionate about racing, of course she would learn fast. And she's technically a criminal.

  • Doctor. I'm a big fan of psychological horror, and his tracking is pretty decent. He also looks amazing and his voice is great.

After that, it's probably Legion, because I like the concept and I find them highly underrated. The Hag, who is the comeback queen in my preference order (I used to absolutely despise playing her, then she got a buff that actually made her fun). Afterwards, its a giant jumble.

And considering that he died with no mention of a wife or children probably means that while he was the first son of the first Yamaoka he probably wasn't the ONLY son.

So to Rin, Kazan is like her great great great grande uncle.

Akito's Crutch reads "The crutch used by Kazan's son after falling from a tree."

The Child's Wooden Sword and Blackened Toenail add-ons also mention Akito. And the Cracked Sakazuki add-on reads "A cup from Kazan's wedding ceremony". (And if anyone is wondering, I have this information written down.)

  • @SkeletalElite said:

The lore heavily implies that he is a distant ancestor and that he is the first yamaoka

Renjiro is the first Yamaoka. The Splintered Hull add-on is from the ship he was on when it sank. The first Yamaoka was a shipwreck survivor. Either the Yamaoka family is just really unlucky, or this is confirmation.

It's Kazan's relationship to Renjiro we need to figure out (I'll figure out where they fit into the timeline when they actually come out). Renjiro's Bloody Glove states "The glove Renjiro held to his sternum following the strike by his son." Kazan fought against his father. The thing that complicates this is that Kazan struck his father in the head, not sternum. But I don't know why this add-on would be important to Kazan otherwise. So, again, unless the Yamaoka's are EXTREMELY unlucky, Kazan is the SECOND Yamaoka.

So, distant ancestor = Yes. First Yamaoka = No.

  • "We understand that people are currently experiencing Server issues - we are investigating the issue and will have more information shortly."

It's literally on this forum (unless you pressed x on it without reading).

  • Going to be honest. I was NEVER a horror fan growing up. I always looked away when I knew something scary was going to happen, and actively avoided the horror genre as much as possible.

Eventually I gave in. While I did see a few horror games prior, Dead by Daylight was the first proper thing I got into. Before this, I had never heard of Michael Myers, and only vaguely knew about Leatherface and Freddy (the only other licensed Killers at the time).

Now I can practically explain the entire Saw storyline by memory (practically, it's still a complete mess).

  • I have honestly given up with Ghost Face's Adept, and probably not going to bother with Demogorgon.

Achievements are meant to be fun. The old Adept was fun. It should never have been attached to pipping.

I was LUCKY when I got Adept Plague. And I couldn't play her without hating myself. Now, she's probably in my top ten.

Adept Killer just simply isn't fun. Ad because of it, I'm trapped at rank 18, waiting an average of 10 MINUTES to find a game, that half the time DOESN"T EVEN LOAD.

If your emblems were actually accurate to your ability, I'd be fine. But you can't really do that (Looking at you Gatekeeper).

Sorry for this rant. I literally just woke up.

    1. Clown - Ties in with his lore, actually dismembers the Survivor, and just looks cool.
    2. Ghost Face - Honestly, Danny boi's and Kenny's moris are interchangeable. The camera is a nice touch.
    3. Legion - The Survivor actually puts up a (short lived) fight.
    4. Hag - Actual disembowelment is seen. The most graphic the game gets.
    5. Demogorgon - Looks really cool, and you can see the bite marks in the Survivor's face. Just wish legal issues didn't prevent a full decapitation.
    6. Cannibal - Chopping someone through the middle WITH A CHAINSAW!!!
    7. Spirit - Pure brutality, but something seems wrong about zooming in on her sword summoning.
    8. Doctor - Shifts POV from Survivor to Killer. Cool, but could use a little more flare.
    9. Huntress - Splitting headache, then some overkill.
    10. Hillbilly - Chainsaw through a body, but nowhere near the coolness of Leatherface's
    11. Nightmare - Nice reference to Jesse's death, but that's about it.
    12. Shape - Again, nice reference, but honestly I just find it bland.
    13. Pig - Straight to the point, attempt at self defense... but boring.
    14. Plague - How does the Survivor die? They just get vomited on and tossed away with a hit sound effect... from what?
    15. Nurse - I like how it shows you don't need a kill to involve blood, but it's just not my cup of tea.
    16. Trapper - Unoriginal, bland, needs to be redone.
    17. Wraith - This is just Evan's toned down. You don't even see it from the Survivor perspective. Just Philip swinging his weapon down.

Even so the only notes given on Hag was that there was NO information on her, well there's at least a little.

I think the way I interpreted it in my head when typing was everything before 1918 was irrelevant to Lisa's placement. You do bring up a good point though. I did say that NO information existed. I'll change it a little.

  • @anarchy753 said:

It wasn't noted anywhere, but Hag is definitely from somewhere after the 1830's. The Pale Rose map features a paddlesteamer, and that type was only made after 1814, popular after the 1830s.

Since it's included in her memories of the swamp it only makes sense.

As I've stated before, since Anna/Huntress was confirmed to be the oldest (until Adiris/Plague was released) and she was from 1918, this information is unfortunately irrelevant (see my response to jesterparty). I'd love if it was helpful, but it sadly isn't. We're just going to have to wait for her Archives.

And while I'm here (this part isn't in response to you anarchy), and on the topic of the Archives, I just want to say that I'm going to wait for ALL of the Archive parts of Evan's history to come out, so I can do it all in one fell swoop (and also redesign his part).

1 … 14 15 16 17 18 … 24
