I really hope someone is willing to take one for the team and actually test it out for themselves and post results. For some reason I don't believe this is actually going to be anything, not sure why though.

I swear people exaggerate about the state of dbd on console. Not sure if I'm lucky or my console was crafted by the gods, but I never experience these bugs nearly as often.
I was about to say the same thing, yeah the frame rate drops sometimes when I use the blight skins but all I have to do is reset the game and I'm good. All the other ones rarely affect me. Definitely not as bad as people like to make it out.
-
Running NOED or any other perk that someone doesn't like. If it's in the game and you're using it as intended it's not toxic.
-
Survivor: how do I always get found first? Even if I try and play stealthy and don't get found in the first 2 minutes everyone else is luckier or more stealthy and I still found in hooked 1st.
Killer: how in the hell does the hatch always spawn within 10 ft of the last survivor? Can't remember the last time I found the hatch first.

No, this is supposed to be a horror game, adding a dab emote just kills the mood
Little kids that are too young to be playing this game desperately want it to be like fortnite unfortunately.

I'm sorry, I have nothing to add to this conversation but absolutely must know why the hell you capitalize every word? For some reason it really bothers me.

I waited 10 minutes just to get lobby dodged, I just gave up and played f13, I agree that there should be a penalty to dodging but let's not limit the killer to see what survivors are bringing.
Totally off topic here but do people still play that game? I bought it about a year ago and didn't like it but since playing dbd I've been itching to try it out again. I'm aware of all the issues with it not being updated and all that.

I really liked the difficulty of Level 3. 1 was just boring and so is Level 3 now. Great!
The only change which was needed was the 2 egc saves and the Bug fix.
I thought they were called "Challenge" for a reason. Thats just sad. I probably have it done in one or two days. :(
Please consider there are Players that want difficult and challenging Challenges!
I agree. That was the only one really needed changing. I think each one should have two levels. One that lets you progress through the Tome and a harder one that grants extra BP. I think that would be a good compromise.
-
I just started playing the game about three months ago. I would be on here and on Reddit and see everybody complaining about this or that and really couldn't understand what all the fuss was about. But in this short time that I've been playing I've already seen the incompetence first-hand multiple times and now, unfortunately, I fully understand. This is just sad. Why would they even bother making an announcement to then delay it for a week 2 hours after it was supposed to happen?

for one , i barally used balanced and the only time i did was back in 1.6 when i didnt enjoy using sprint burst for 2 i use deadhard and for 3 just because im whining about a perk thats been the same since 1.6 doesnt make me whining about a perk, im using my brain libtard, if a perks been the same for 3 years never touched and now is being complained about dont you think theres somethign wrong with that?
You obviously didn't read the first part that I wrote. They only changed it NOW so that they can put more vertical elements in maps like the new one that is coming out. Is that really so hard to understand? And thanks for the "libtard", that honestly gave me a good laugh, not sure where it came from though. I didn't know people actually use that term in real conversation and not being sarcastic.

Alot of the ones that take a large number of broken pallets and such can take alot of time unless your farming, but some of em...like the bear trap one I just finished, can be done in 1 go. The only thing I'll really find annoying about the basement one is that I have to equip monsterous shrine.
It wasn't so bad. I just did it on my first try with the hag, agitation and iron grasp. Yeah the perk required was useless but still.
-
When are you all going to realize that they fixed BL to be able to have more freedom putting vertical elements in maps like the new one? It's not that hard to figure out. And no amount of whining about it is going to make them suddenly change their mind and not fix it. So you're literally yelling into the wind here, wasting your breath. So do yourself a favor quit whining and get over it already. Personally I'm going to continue using it on my survivors because I never abused it like you all obviously did who are whining about it. So get over the fact that your got your crutch perk fixed the way it's supposed to be.

What you described is an exact copy and paste to the F13 formula. It would be too similar to F13.
I’ve played that game for probably as many hours as DBD. Love playing both games though.
Funny, well it still sounds like a good idea to me. I feel like a clown sometimes chasing a Survivor around a pile of junk five or six times while the Benny Hill theme plays in my head.
-
Never played it so wouldn't know. Maybe they were onto something.

@GrootDude said:
How would you change looping? Frankly I find stealthy/immersed players the most annoying to play against.
Add a stamina meter that survivors had to manage. Or add a fear meter which affect them the longer they are being chaste, maybe like stumbling or gradually slowing down or something. Encourage survivors to escape and hide rather than running around a pile of junk like they're in a Tom and Jerry cartoon.
-
So they've had three or four over-performing killers in a row nerfed now. When was the last time an underperforming killer was given a buff?

@Science_Guy said:
Same old, same old in this thread.
Adrenaline rewards the Survivors for completing their objective. NOED rewards the Killer for failing to do theirs. And how is 'Just knock out all the totems' any more "counterplay" than 'Don't let the Survivors complete 5 gens'?
Totems aren't a 'secondary objective. Beyond hexes, the only reason to ever do them is to avoid NOED, where missing a single one means you wasted your time. But GL knocking them all out when solo survivors have no way of knowing if all the totems are gone except by personally checking for all five, wasting so much time in the process that they would have been better off ignoring it completely.
The Killers objective is to kill all the survivors hence their name. Their objective is not to prevent them from completing generators or else the match would end when that is done. So your whole statement about it rewarding Killers for failing to do their objective is 100% false. I like how you say same old same old in this thread but then come out with the same old tired argument against it.

I'm in favor of it so it can increase the player base. They could either make it optional which I'm sure it will be or if after a couple months of data they see that PC players routinely do better against console players maybe just change the matchmaking criteria between the two to reflect the difference in skill level.
-
Along with the other great advice here I suggest you start playing killer so you can see things from the other point of view and see how hard it is without having those perks. Always good to get both perspectives and understand why the other side does things the way they do.
-
I like it, might actually give some incentive to ranking up.

@ProfessorDunwich said:
Devs are quite silent on SWF. It is obviously a problem. The solution would be buffing solo survivors and giving them communication options, then you could buff the killers around survivors communicating. I don't think it will happen though. We are more likely to get more intrusive microtransactions than even an acknowledgement of a big problem.
I imagine they're so silent on it because they're possibly a little salty about it being a thing. It completely negates a major design choice they made for the game, not providing communication in the first place to create a feeling of isolation in the player and heightened tension. But they know there's no way they could ever nerf it and risk losing their Cash Cow.

It's disturbing to see the number of times hags placing traps near a hooked Survivor have been called campers. I have been also. Like do survivors actually think it's bad when you do this? That's ridiculous.
-
Can any devs comment here and give us some clarification?
-
It appears they changed balanced Landing specifically so they could make the new map. With all of its drop-offs it would have been an overpowered Park on that map and particular. So they obviously wanted to make that map and realized it was easier just to change balanced Landing. Personally I will still continue to use it. I never relied on the mechanic they're taking away anyways.
-
I got called a camper for placing down one trap each time I hooked a survivor as hag one game. Like the person actually considered trapping someone that was hooked as camping. Actually told me that that was toxic and not how you should play the hag. My mind was literally blown.

Do you mind saying what they are? I'm on Console so can't participate in the ptb but so far everything I've heard and read about sounds fairly balanced.
-
Why are you already giving them ideas? Are these things you think need to be changed?

The leaked notes mentioned a demon mode. I speculate a power he has to build up like stalking but maybe gathering blood by hitting survivors with his weapon.

Have you ever played killer? There is no fun getting looped as a killer.... especially with SWF. Speak for yourself.
I agree with you but I think I get where he's coming from. I play mostly killer and definitely dislike getting looped but I do enjoy out playing a Survivor at a dropped pallet and snatching them off of it.

He said if you're not actually tunneling. If you down someone and they have 60 seconds or close to it left then you were 100% tunneling and should know the risk of doing so.
Tunneling is solely focusing on 1 Survivor and ignoring all others. If I have already hooked somebody and then I go back and get the person with Ds that is not tunneling anymore. Plain and simple.
-
@Peanits said:

Hit 'em and slug them. If you're not actually chasing them off the hook, the timer will run out in a few seconds. Even if they hop in a locker, a few seconds go by and you can grab them right out. If you are chasing them right off the hook, you'll have to wait a full minute, but the perk is doing exactly what it's supposed to.
But it's supposed to counter tunneling. If I've already hooked somebody and the Survivor with DS runs back into me and I down them is that really tunneling?
-
@yoi said:
you created a topic when actually yesterday i said EXACTLY the same. taht was my argument you are not tunneling if you hooked another guy you went for another chase. thats obvious even less isnt tunneling if the survivor start to do a gen using those 60 seconds of INVULNERABILITY. definitelly you are not being tunneled in that situation neither
And I started the same exact topic with same suggestion the day before you. It's obviously something a lot of killers at least find is a problem. Hopefully the devs will take notice.

No they wouldn't because then it would be perfectly balanced unlike the 60-second immunity it is now.

1. The Cell, never seen anyone suggest this.

Yes, I am gonna go into multiple games to get up to 200,000 BP, only being able to earn up to 32K to the challenge each match
I am gonna get 20 gold or iridescent emblems
It just extremely boring to do these challenges, and some of them, like liberator and the pallet challenges, are just stupid in so many ways
Umm, isn't that called just playing the game?

Why should stopping someone from tunneling you be harder? If you tunnel someone within the 60 seconds it’s your fault.
I do agree it could be changed to as soon as someone else is hooked it turns off and also remove the timer.
But they should make it an automatic activation if the killer picks you up.
BTW: If not tunneling kills your momentum then simply down them without camping their body.
It applies the same pressure as hooking them.
They can’t do anything unless they have a perk or a friend to help them, in that case at least 2 survivors aren’t on gens.
I absolutely agree with your suggestions. I even say just make it built in to the game and not a perk. Then it would truly be an anti tunneling measure.

It all really comes down to what you define as a "killer". Do you think it just pertains to slasher type characters because personally I don't, obviously. Now, if it was labelled as "slasher" then I'd agree with that sentiment 100% but it's labelled as "killer" and personally I find monsters to be natural born killers. Hey though, just my opinion and I'm just happy to see people sharing theirs.
I think killers are driven to kill and actively enjoy it. Monsters are just creatures who are good at it. Does Frankenstein want to kill? Does Dracula enjoy killing or just do it because he needs it to sustain his life? That's where I draw the line between killers and monsters.

@xEa said:
And here is the problem, especially with many people on this forum.
"i.e. making the killers the power role not survivors"
They should balance it, and not make one side the "power role". So many Killers here in this Forum are very upset of not being Overpowered, thats all.
Look at people like TrueTalent.. he is constantly complaining in almost every match... there is almost no game where he is not saying that this and that will be so hard, and survivor have the upper hand etc. And in the end he ends up more often then not with a 3 or even 4K... And lets be real here, he is not even a top tier player.
It is true, that Survivor might still have a small edge over many Killers (beside Billy, Nurse, Spirit, Huntress, Freddy and Hag) but some here act like, it is pointless to even try getting a kill here and there..
Im considere myself a mediocre Killer, still managing almost every time 2-4 Kills in Red ranks.. even doable with weaker Killers like Legion, Bubba and Leatherface.
I dont wanna bash the OP or any other Killer, but please stay realistic.
The game is not perfectly ballanced, but far from, what some here say.
Well that was a pointless humblebrag. How the hell can you consider yourself only mediocre if you win every single game in red ranks, 2 kills equaling a win, even with low-tier killers? I'm not trying to be an ######### and agree with everything else you said but no reason to say you're mediocre.

When I said "classic" I was generally talking about the classic universal monsters but sense the topic has already shifted gears heavily I'm not going to be a pill about it.
That's what I assumed you were talking about, at least what I thought of when you use the word classic. While I definitely like the idea I think it should be an entirely separate game, a new asymmetrical based around monsters. This game is more about Killers than monsters in my opinion.

@NuclearBurrito said:
Use the "hook someone else to deactivate" INSTEAD of the 60 second timer and then remove it procing off self unhooks to avoid edge case problematic scenarios.
No timer means you get the full benefit of the perk even if you are a god at looping.
Always deactivating on a hook means that the Killer can simply go for someone else to avoid the perk.
No timer also means that while slugging sort of counters it you still need to go out and do something so camping the body is futile.
This is perfect. Hopefully one of the devs sees this and agrees. I would love to see a Survivor explain how this would be bad but I'm sure they'll figure out a way to.

Catch Breath
Eh.
You can't be for real here. In a game that rarely lasts over 10 minutes, time for catching breath is between the games.
The fact that the sides play so differently makes this game, and this may come as a surprise to you, more diverse. First play one, then the other. Wow, what an idea.
Are you also the type of guy who signs up for a marathon only to complain to everybody that you don't get to take a break every 5 minutes without losing the marathon?
constantly chasing, hitting, downing and hooking
Not enough time for watching clouds pass by eh? Maybe dream about playing a fishing simulator.
I'm sorry for the rant but this is probably the most ridiculous thing I've read on here so far, and the competition is pretty damn tough I'll tell ya.
All I'm saying is and it seems odd the side that should feel pressured, the survivors, literally get to do what you just said. Sit and watch the clouds pass by while they hold a button fixing a generator.

Sure it’s easy for an experienced player to hit.
But what about new players?
They can easily miss it which makes the perk a waste of a perk slot.
Also remember this perk can only activate ONCE a match and can trigger a skillcheck at most 2 times.
In some ways DS should be automatic because if someone is tunneling this should be automatic.
Making the skillcheck harder screws over newer players so that wouldn’t make sense.
Simply count to 60 or slug if you want that person so bad.
Yeah but op enter a scenario which is all too common for good killers, you're getting good pressure on a team, you specifically don't tunnel but still get punished for it. It should be harder for newer players , it should be something that requires some skill that you have to learn over time. Why do you think it should be easy for new players in the first place? It's not anti tunnel if you have hooked somebody else before getting hit with it. And everybody always says count to 60 or slug but again that kills your momentum. So I'm just supposed to slug and stand there and guard them for 60 seconds? Makes no sense.
