Is this not a thing on console? I still never have any idea where to aim or what to do when somebody is unhooking right in front of my face. It seems like a total crapshoot whether I hit the person still on the hook or the rescuer. Like at what point am I supposed to attack, and is it only guaranteed if the rescuer is directly between me and the hooked person?
-
It's also way too easy to use. Anyone who's ever hit a good skill check can hit it 99% of the time. Like why not just make it automatic at this point? They need to make the skill check a little more difficult like maybe have it appear in a random spot on screen like when you're playing against the doctor.
-
Yeah, it's constantly hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that the survivors have all the power in this game and are the ones who get to have a nice chill match. I play as killer and it's go go go from the second the match starts, constantly chasing, hitting, downing and hooking. Go find a gen to smash and repeat, not a second to stop and catch your breath. Then when my brain gets so fried from the stress I switched to Survivor and it's like a ######### stroll in the park. Take a nice leisurely little walk through the woods up to a gen and sit down and hold down a button while occasionally tapping another button. Hear that the Killer is coming and go duck behind a tree and take a crap for a minute, maybe run away and smash some pallets on his head and jump some windows. And survivors honestly wonder why Killers face camp sometimes. It's not always that they're being dicks sometimes they just want a moment to catch their ######### breath. Although admittedly I have absolutely no idea how they would change this dynamic.

Dont you know, Spirit takes skill. Not everyone was born with ears, takes a special prodigy to hear things.
Anyone who says this as either never played spirit or is a good enough killer that they can get a 4K with any of them. Do people really believe it takes no skill to get a 4K with her? I'm decent and I started playing with her recently and she's sure not an automatic win. And any other Spirit mains I've talked to in game also confirm that she actually takes skill to use. It gets old seeing the lazy comment of oh she's an easy win.
-
I posted the same exact suggestion about a week ago. The replies didn't go well. Survivors just want their 60 seconds immunity. I mean what you proposed makes absolute 100% sense and I can't understand why any player wouldn't agree.
-
######### yeah. I've literally been sitting here for 25 minutes now browsing the forums.
-
The frame rate on PS4. I have to restart the game every three to four matches just for it to be playable. I also can't use the new hag skin at all that I bought because it totally kills FPS even if it's the first game of the day I play.
-
I totally agree. Everytime I unlock another of Claidettes I just want to give her a hug and be her freind. Then I get a tbagging clicky Claud in my next killer match so I tunnel and camp her. Such mixed emotions.
-
While I would like to experience more unique events, as I've never been able to because I just started playing a couple months ago, I do understand their reasoning. It is better to focus on improvements to the overall game rather than coming up with unique events.
-
I would definitely like that change for the Trapper. I also think they should put his bear traps in the lockers like a Huntress. Imagine if as Huntress you had to walk all around the map pulling her hatchets out of random logs or something. That would seem pretty silly but somehow it makes sense for the Trapper.
-
I like to use PGTW instead of ruin, BBQ, I'm all ears for chases and Surveillance. 1 slowing, 2 tracking and 1 info.

It looks pretty even to me
I'm talking about the fact there are 11 survivor challenges add I think only 5 for killer.

@Nazeef13 said:
Even though I have issues with the quality and design of some of the survivor challenges (e.g. throw down pallets, deplete medkits) that can promote throwing or anti-skill gameplay, it is proper for the survivor challenges to take more time.
Not sure if you noticed during the 1st tome, which imo was balanced for challenges, the que times for survivor were extremely short but killer was just too long. This is because they have the same number of challenges for killer and survivor. But you only need 1 killer for every 4 survivors.
I know not everyone does the challenges, but if assume players do, the tome 1 challenges would result in 1:1 ratio of killer and survivors in que, when ideally you need 1:4.
The other way to achieve a proper ratio without making the survivor challenges take more time would be to increase the total number of survivor challenges. However this is unfair to killer mains, as they will get less progress for the rift, which ultimately leads to less killer mains buying it.
As a survivor main, I will miss the short que times and short challenges if tome 1, but these longer challenges (aside from design) are better for que times.
Do you think this is why there are more than twice as many Survivor challenges than killer ones this time?

The medkit ons seems to count medkits EVERYONE uses. Counted 4 total used in my first attempt at it, and I had 4/6 after the trial. Wonder if self care is bugged the same way?
That could be it. I know I saw at least one other person during the match healing themselves. Checked afterwards and they did have self care.

Perhaps it her Ancestor spirit being awaken by the blood of his kin
This seems likely as what he says in the trailer implies it.
-
Did they recently change it on PC? Because on Console spine chill most certainly does detect all stealth killers. Undetectable only affects aura-reading perks.
-
I definitely agree it would be a great idea. Especially to get more people to try out playing killer without all the pressure. Heck even as an experienced player to be able to go into maps and try out new things with Killers you're not experienced with. Try out new places for traps and stuff like that.

What if this is just bait, after the last few chapters being leaked I'm sure this time they are actively trying to mislead us
Just a thought
This is what I'm thinking. Probably a big red herring. People should start checking other maps to see if other things are missing. I think it's going to become a theme hinting at the next killer.

Definitely not the case at rank 1. I’ve seen more Legions at rank 1 than I’ve seen Spirit. Spine Chill also no longer works against Myers, Ghostface, Wraith, or Demogorgon (out if portal), so it definitely doesn’t work on every killer. On top of that, survivors cannot see who the killer is in the lobby, so they cannot adjust like killers can. If a killer sees survivors all have toolboxes, they bring Franklin’s. They see they all have medkits, they play Legion. So idk what you’re talking about
Your seriously misinformed about SC and stealth killers but I actually wish you were right. The undetectable status only works with aura-reading perks not SC. And it is one of the best Survivor perks but, seriously, please keep telling everybody it's not. The last thing I want is more survivors using it against me when I play Ghostface & Myers.
-
Any input here @Peanits or do the devs think a 60-second hook immunity is fair?
-
It is for somebody with a crap memory like me. I don't remember how long it's been or who I have previously hooked.
-
@Exerlin said:
I think it's fine. A survivor is just wasting their time if they run straight into you just so they can get the DS stun off. Taking up ~8 seconds of your time really isn't worth the perk, especially considering you can just slug them if they run at you and make them waste even more time.
That's all well and good, but frankly I'm old and I don't remember every freaking Survivor that I have recently hooked. Maybe easy for you younguns with your good fancy memory you can do that but not me. But seriously, I don't remember who and when I previously hooked, I'm just focused on chasing and killing.
-
Probably not the best but the most memorable recent was getting 99,999 bloodpoints during the last Blood hunt. I don't exactly remember but it definitely was some combination of BPS and petals. As a newer player I didn't even realize that many was possible in one match.

What does this particular moment in the short film depict? maybe looking in to that may give some insight
Bhvr posted a reply to the Tweet saying that something is missing in the gif. It looks like a sword is missing maybe? Somebody on Reddit said that they recently noticed that in the map in game a sword is missing from this sword rack now.
-
Bhvr just posted a reply to it pointing out that something is missing from the gif.
-
I didn't feel it was much of a grind. I finished it and I thought it was pretty interesting to have some different goals for each match. But we'll have to wait and see once the next Tome unlocks how those objectives are.
-
I prefer surveillance over discordance and spies from the Shadows over Whispers. Try out spies if you haven't.

Just stop using the perk. It's a bad perk anyway.
No no no, it's one of the best perks there is and all survivors should start running it. As a GF main I totally approve.

Yeah I wish all this was true as the few times I've used him for a daily he was fun but I don't know, maybe you have bad eyesight? As a Survivor I can see him honestly halfway across the map as long as I have line of sight and never have it as easy as you're saying when I play him as killer.

Not quite a bug. The shrine needed to be refreshed for The Archives, since we want to make sure that any teachable perks that you need are available in the shrine (in this case, Empathy).
Enjoy the BBQ & Chili while you can.
Thank you so much, just give me two more hours so I can get home from work to get it. Sorry but I just don't really like Bubba and don't want to pay $10 to get one perk.
-
Yikes, that sounds terrible. Also sounds like I'll have to deal with survivors constantly swarming me as I'm carrying someone to a hook.

No, I mean player levels i'll edit it sorry.
Oh okay cool. Well that is pretty damn nice then.
-
That's cool but crap, I literally just got my first devotion level ever last night. I would have not played my last few game as if I knew this was going to be a thing.
-
I wish he had the option to hide traps which would be a secondary action that takes a decent amount of time but then would be able to use him on indoor maps where there usually aren't many good hiding places. Maybe even allow these traps to be crouched over by survivors. I think this would put a good amount of fear into the survivors and help to slow the game down a bit by forcing them to crouch around more.

It's a bug. Bbq shouldn't be on the shrine.
So if anything, they'll change the shrine on the other platforms to match the switch
I really hope your wrong. I just leveled up the hag a week ago to unlock ruin. I've played Bubba with a splinter offering before and found him boring and really don't want to dump a bunch of BP into him just to unlock that. Honestly if it's in there and it stays I'm more excited about that than the entire event or archives haha. I at least hope they don't revert it before I get home from work in 4 hours.

6 ranks either direction
Yeah I know, but it's literally always three players up to six ranks better than me, never the other way around.
-
No it doesn't seem to be working at the moment. I'm rank 12 killer and always get matched with teams that have three players 4-6 ranks better than me and one player close to my rank. The way they explained it should be the opposite, 3 players close to my rank and one 4-6 ranks better than me.
-
Weren't balanced Landing and DS in there recently? I know I got DS not too long ago from the shrine.

Matchmaking is a bit all over the place at the minute. How do you know they're SWF?
Overly altruistic, always paired up so that I get followed to the hook when I'm taking someone there. All four running some type of BP offering. Perfect coordination end game when I am trying to guard three generators as ghost face sneaking around, like I bust one generator and right as I am going to the next one they run away from it and afterwards I see they don't have any detection perks. Even if they're not all swf I routinely get matched up with three players 3 to 5 ranks higher than me and one close to me, never the opposite. I thought they changed swf matchmaking so that killers are matched with the highest-ranked Survivor not the lowest.
-
I don't even have any real answers for this guy as I'm a new player myself. But man you all make it sound so easy. I'm rank 12 killer right now facing 4 man swf 9 out of 10 times and have tried everything you all have said and literally none of it seems to work.

This game is very much alive on PS4. I can get into a lobby as killer literally instantly most times. Survivor is a minute or two tops.
Same with me on PS4. I just really hope it stays this way and I'm concerned by this post. I literally just started playing the game 6 weeks ago and haven't had as much fun as this since the first Left 4 Dead game. I'd be crushed if it slowly starts dying over the next few months.

@ASAPTurtle said:
Standing on a survivor blocks the prompt for the killer to pick them up. That can save lives. Spamming unhook on a survivor causes their body to not have collision. If done properly the killer could accidently hit the hooked survivor, you get the off them hook and both of you could possibly escape unscathed.
Whoa now, what's this about spamming unhook? Is this what happens when I'm trying to hit a rescuer and I hear the Survivor on the hook scream as if I hit them and the rescuer is unharmed?

I play whoever I feel like, but killer balance is pretty awful.
The game is fun most of the time, but it feels like a complete waste of time about 30% of the time. I play both sides at red ranks. I firmly believe survivors are the power role and dictate the pace of the game if they truly know how to play. The game and maps are designed around low level survivor play, which leads to an overabundance of safe loops for skilled survivors relative to gen speed.
Do you think maps and skill checks should change the higher rank you get? Like for maps some set pieces and props get removed and for skill checks maybe the great areas are removed and the good areas are smaller? Would this remove the constant need to bring ruin?

Same, but also sneaking up and snatching somebody off a generator.

It would be a big buff to survivors and a nerf for killers. In other words BHVR will implement it shortly.
I made a thread suggesting they remove Flames from hex totems and the general consensus is it's a bad idea, here in this thread everybody seems to think this is a good idea. This tells me there are a lot more survivors on these forums than killers. Or maybe that's the whole game in general.
-
Maybe if the time they stayed broken was longer and something like it required an entire toolbox to do one hook.
-
@StupidPallets said:
I think this is a good idea and should be implemented. You may have people disagree with you in your thread, but my opinion is especially of great importance.
I mean I don't see why not. You don't have to run ruin to force survivors to look for totems. They can do them if they want some easy emblem and blood points. I always hear how useless hex perks are at higher ranks, just thought this would make them more usable. But it seems like any suggestion made to make things better for killer is always met with disdain here.

Yeah, DS is really not as powerful as it should be. It's sort of like Thanatophobia. On paper Thanatophobia is a weak perk, it's only strong because there's a genrush epidemic.
The main reason it's perceived as so powerful, is because so many killers just keep tunneling. Well of course you're going to eat DStrikes if that's the case.
If you don't tunnel, you won't even know there a Dstrike. And the main reason DStrike is so common and meta, is because so many killers are just tunneling away (whether on purpose hard tunneling or soft tunneling).
Good killers play "normally" as intended -- they hook and kill survivors as they go arund the map. They don't camp, they don't tunnel. And as they do that they learn optimal techniques to find and chase survivors. So they get good at the game and can 4K without resorting to cheap tricks.
What about the swf that all bring BT and DS and have no fear of the Killer and unhook right in his face or five feet away from him so you swing at them and hit the 1 that was just unhooked doing no damage now there are two survivors running away. Are you supposed to intentionally chase the healthy one just so you're not accused of tunneling? Wouldn't it make more sense to chase the one that's injured? With these perks survivors don't have to fear unhooking each other right in front of the Killer and I don't think that's how the game was ever intended to be. Isn't that why you get more points for safe unhooks?
