Why do you think you can decide what DH is supposed to be used for?

The Distance and the i-Frames are both part of the effect. Both are the supposed effect of DH. And if you want to make one the "main" effect, I would say it is the distance, considering it is mentioned first.

But overall, both are the "supposed" effect. You stating that it is supposed to dodge a Hit is just your interpretation.

And well, they are just saying they are looking into it. Not that they are looking into changing it, this is a difference. However, if they remove the distance, the Perk will be one of the worst Exhaustion-Perks.

Ok then if it isn't to dodge a hit let's remove the I frames and keep the distance. Personally I don't care either way, the point I was trying to say is the Devs have said they don't like how DH is being used for distance and are looking into it. That being said that means the perk is not being used as intended and will be changed when they decide what that change is.

SB some argue is a better perk than DH, but what makes DH better is that it gives both Distance and Iframes at a push of a button with no negative side effects. All the other exhaustion perks have some negative effect to them ie SB you can't run, Lithe you cant fast vault, BL well I shouldn't use that example because that's a buggy perk that needs some help.....

Now I agree with you removing all the distance will make it weaker but not useless because you would still have the Iframes that will eat powers and attacks leading into a cool down period.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

It is a good Perk. Survivors dont have many Perks worth running. It works as it should work and you dont end up exhausted on the ground anymore.

But sadly most survivors are not using it as it's supposed to be used for. DH is supposed to allow the Survivor to "dodge" a killer attack. But what most survivors are doing is using it to gain distance to safe zones.

Hence why the Devs are looking into changing it. They don't like that DH is being used as a distance perk instead of a dodge perk.

Same I hope they remove grades from the end game scoreboard for good

Something tells me that even though MMR was not affected by ranks I think they did in some way be how the last test went.

I have partecipated in every test last days and it was AWFUL.

I don't know what you "tested" but definitely not that big of a difference when you see around 80% of the feedback negative.

Should i also point out that lately we aren't even reaching 35k players in the "peak" times? The playerbase is exhausted to constantly face the same issues of this game, but let's do a survey to see what's the problem, stop trying to find the elephant in the room, you know what's wrong.

Watch out in what you end up telling us with the result of those tests bhvr, the feedback has been made and if you decide to ignore it, or will say it was "fine", i don't see a future for your game.

Well the last one with the hidden ranks went smoother than normal but couldn't play that much due to work

Hitting with yellow bottles also produces exposed?

The Killer could of used the color change addon that reverses the colors but I'm not sure about it...I assume it would work..

  • Yes accessibility options should not be tied to perks, I agree with that. But it's bad enough with flashlights that blind at wierd angles and through walls I don't want the FoV to be moved anymore....

Ahem but I digress, if they made it basekit and added it to the options then survivors will have even harder time trying to do flashlight saves that they shouldn't have to guess what FoV you have set. Besides making the FoV bigger would only give advantage to Killers allowing them to see things going on around them...ie eyes in the back of your head.

Yes I hate Blossom with a passion! Hope they remove it and bring back Father’s Glasses.

I feel the same way I loved the Father's Glasses but I fear that they would need to rework IW or Rancor before that would happen

  • @ukenicky said:

If you want easy mode on Spirit just use Dried Cherry Blossom. It's arguably even better than old Stridor on her and Iron Will doesn't counter it.

Old Stridor did not need to exist and honestly its current form is pointless. It needs a rework of some kind but certainly not a revert.

Thats the thing many people want DCB to be reworked but until IW or Stridor get reworked that won't happen. I believe making IW max be 90% would be enough to allow Stridor to work without it being too powerful on Spirit and then they can rework how DCB is or even remove it and bring back Father's Glasses

Slug and camp, hook and camp.

Seems like the default answer when "I don't like x"

Sadly if Survivors want to play the Sabo game then the only option for the killer to "win" is to slug and wait for bleed out. Now I'm not saying it should be done all the time, I had alot of free downs because survivors don't know when to sabo and I still got the hook.

  • @AngyKiller said:

I remember when DBD was new, and Survivors could literally perma-break hooks. Ended up with half the map being dead zones that Survivors would run too so they could never be hooked.

And then they would cry they were being slugged.

    Good times.

Wait half the map.....I remember when only the basement hooks were the only hooks because of sabo squads.....man you were lucky to only lose half...

  • @ThiccBudhha said:

I prefer buffing other perks to be viable as opposed to nerfing one of the only good survivor perks to be perfectly honest. Dead hard is NOT the problem. Map design is.

No giving a perk that has both distance and Iframes is a problem. Not only does it allow Survivors to correct big mistakes they make they can gain distance but the killer can't do anything to them while gaining that distance while the animation is going on. While SB gives distance but a skilled ranged killer can still get a hit or two in.

That's why the Devs are looking at DH because players are using it more for distance than Iframes. DH is the only exhaustion perk with new negative side effects as some of the others.....SB can't run or you activate it, BL if you fall too far it activated, Lithe slow vault or you accidentally activate it. DH you have the choice when to use it and not worried about it activating when you don't want too.

  • No because I have escaped from them both as a soloQ survivor. I have a rate of about 40% escapes and most of the deaths are from Nurse as I'm still getting the hang of dodging her.

Artist is a good killer but nowhere op. She's antiloop, but her power is a lot harder to use than nemesis for example. She really requires effort to do good and reading/ predicting the survivors

She can seem OP if a player knows how to use her just like Nurse in a way. Baby nurses are not op at all but in the hands of a experienced player then She is OP. No Killer is truly OP (add-ons are a different story) some Killers require a different way to dodge them or run them in a chase. No chase is supposed to be a 100% escape rate, that not how the game is designed for.

I have faced God Tier Nurses and Blights with said add-ons and had times where I survived and juked them, but others where I died and was downed every chase.

  • @BrokenSouI said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2886314#Comment_2886314

It's more funny. Because it's normally the opposite of what actually happens. "Artist is OP !!!" Which yes, ok. The bird bombs were broken. But her power really never was.

But everyone thought blight would be trash. But here we are. People realizing what blight can do.

Right I'm playing her now and really her crows require pinpoint precision if you want to hit from a long distance, so I really have been using her power at mid range and been getting better results.

  • Well the idea many have thatost like is dealing with Gens......

Once a Gen reaches the 25%, 50% and 75% progress the Survivors must find a part to continue to repair said Gen. Once the part is installed survivors don't need a part if the Gen regresses past the mark where the part was installed they don't have to look for a new part again.

BNP will work like normal or can be used as the new part needed to progress past one of the repair zones.

  • @BrokenSouI said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2884965#Comment_2884965

She doesn't though. People need to realize there's more then one way to loop. Then the brain dead "lulz drop 20 pallets and vault the OP long wall"

That's the mindset even with new Killers. If survivors can't do the normal loop strat with them they are OP and they complain until they are nerfed before they reach love servers.

  • @MrDardon said:

And if both get nerfed, who will they complain abou then? Toy Sword Twins?

    Oh wait..

No they will just go down the list of Killers til everyone of them have been nerfed into oblivion.....wait they already did that to Slinger.....Wraith.....Twins......Trap....wait sorry Trapper is still too weak to be of any use anyway.

  • @Kuinzu said:

Is it just me that finds sitting on gen for 80s so damn repetitive? Sometimes I'll actively seek adventure, go cleanse a totem, help a teammate do their gen etc because sitting on one by myself for ages can be so boring.

It is boring but dang it I must hold m1 to finish this task because I'm too lazy to look for totems....or help a team mate....or unhook one.....but if I do I won't wait for the Killer to leave or I'll be chased by the Killer and unhook my buddy but won't have BT so I get down and they do as well.

Did I just sum up the state of the Survivor game atm.

  • @Marc_123 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/317460/you-have-not-time-to-cleanse-all-totems-if-killer-has-anti-gen-perks

No time to cleanse? But a lot of time to boon multiple times... i think this argument doesn´t work anymore as boons show.

Exactly...they say "We don't have time to cleanse totems" but will waste time relighting a Boon 5+ times a match

  • I like her but she has a learning curve like Spirit and Nurse and Blight. But most don't like to learn her or have this thinking oh at loops I lay down crows and don't mind game and just hold W. I don't do that and have a fun time mind gaming survivors that think I'm doing that but don't.

  • @ukenicky said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2884581#Comment_2884581

This is great until the lit totem ends up being right next to where the killer hooks someone so then they just camp the survivor + their NOED.

But that's just RNG of DbD for you....I have seen NoED spawn in no man's land of no hooks and times where it spawned in the killer shack with the basement. It's the luck of the draw, if the Killer is camping just leave, they can't camp and watch doors so just give them that 1k

  • It was for me until I made Cool Guy Jake with Small Game and a Map....then that pain was just a minor inconvenience if my team were potatoes

  • @jesterkind said:

It's genuinely interesting to me that so many people's reponse to learning that a certain tactic against a perk isn't as reliable as they think is to call the perk in question unfair and OP, instead of like, considering if there are other tactics you could take. I mean it, too, it's a fascinating phenomenon.

Anyway, don't cleanse all five totems if you don't think you can both get them all, and still get generator progress done. It's a bad tactic.

I know.....I have my one survivor I use as my Totem hunter and that's Cool Guy Jake with Small Game. Do I give up one perk slot for it...yes but so does the Killer when NoED dosnt proc. I have broken all totems myself and was able to escape, now this isn't a full proof strat because that's totally reliant on the rest of my team.

If my team isn't the best then I take note where the totems are and if I really feel like being a totem killer then I'll equip a map and boom I'll have all totems marked for easy return Incase NoED.

Now none of my strats a full proof NoED still procs survivors still die but I respect if the Killer has it and just leave when he's dealing with the other survivors.

  • Hmm I would say, since both sides would be using haxs, that it would be the longest game in history with no clear winner.

  • I for one usually give the last survivor the hatch or allow them to open the door as long as they don't okay toxic or bm. I even tend to let two survivors go if someone DCd because that is not fair especially if it's from the start or someone just suicides on the hook.

Now from the other side I was practicing with Nurse because I want to learn the Killers I don't normally play to get better with them, Nurse's Blink, Oni and Billy charge/chainsaw dash etc......well I was playing Nurse and I was having difficulty as expected learning her blinks, but I managed to get 1k (I was proud to get that lmao) but two of the players saw I was learning how to play er and gave me 4 pitty hooks and I allowed them to unhook each time and then they allowed me to down them at the exit gate just to get some points.

They were nice and said they saw I was trying to learn her but was decent, not good just decent lol, and they wanted to give me some points. Those players made that slightly stressful game less stressed at the end because of that little kindness. The entire community should learn from players like that and I think we could actually come to a understanding that both sides have it tough.

  • @ThanksForDaily said:

    People playing with friends.

    Killer mains: Cheaters, report!!!

Now he didn't say they were cheating but he was saying he understands why hackers ruin our games just so they can have "fun"... but I digress....ahem. If I understand what OP is trying to say, now my anger post translational skills are slightly rusty but, Op is saying premade SWF bully squads are what makes Killer say that they are "cheating". But believes that in "normal" play that the SWFs should be limited to two man squads and full 4man squads be limited to a KYF game.

I for one don't want anyone to be punished for playing with their friends and support any game that encourages a play with your friends style. BUT....and I use this very sparingly....BHVR needs to balance the game not just for soloQ but also for Killers because if we get right down to the nitty gritty....they are Solo all the time.

I for one don't know how to balance the game or what needs to be buffed that won't be seen as "Killer Sided" or "Survivor Sided" or downright "OP" or "Unfun" boost.

I mean some would argue that Lightborn is OP but I always run it simply because I don't want to be bothered and some people are way too comfortable with their flashlights. Personally, I prefer sabbing hooks.

Dear God don't start those arguments up in here my heart can't take another Lightborn tangent.....but back to the point at hand ahem......No IG is not op, in this current age of DbD with Hook spawns being irregular, Savo squads still a viable threat, body blocking in general, IG is a must needed perk that works about 50% of the time (50% coming from facing a full sweat squad).

Does IG guarantee a hook....not all the time, there are times I lost a survivor because of a sabo body block squad and I even had IG with Agi.

Posts like this sadly add to the Us vs Them mentality and brings out all the toxic Survivor Mains and toxic Killer Mains to have a nice "chill" discussion about the issue on both sides.....

As in they both went up the saloon at the same time and both got downed at the same time, you know so they can use boil over

Honestly im start to feel like the next time someone tries to abuse boil over by going up somewhere high, i will just bleed em out

But look at the builds they had unbreakable so you can't bleed them out. Those build from a glance is a anti hook/slug setup. It's not a full proff build because it's totally map dependent but I can see how annoying it is.

  • I agree DT is not the best thing in the world and won't shake the Meta but who's to blame really we as survivors have a mindset of what a meta perk should do and when any perk dosnt do that it is considered trash and we toss it to the wayside. I have see DT paired well with Shadow Step or and DH to help get me out of alot of sticky situations. The best use of DT I have seen are on multiple floor maps where Boons can shine or if the Boon is place close to a large jungle gym loop combo area where you can easily lose the chase and then use that boost to get away while the Killer is trying to mind game you.

In regards to CoH Nerf that's coming up....it won't ruin the perk a +50% Healing speed boost still if good but won't be a whole run off spam heal then come back you will have to plan out when to heal. Maybe now when I use Inner Healing I won't be harassed by other survivors for breaking a totem.

If Killers de pip for losing them survivors should too. Sadly camping and tunneling is a slippery slope to fix because they tried to fix camping before and it was abused by survivors. They are working on fixes but they have to be careful or it will be a repeat performance.

Look up bestie in the urban dictionary bestie literally dying laughing you are adorable

Oh so your using the urban dictionary nice well most of us on the forums try to use phrases and words that everyone understands in the normal dictionary. If people don't understand what your saying and says it doesn't make sense it's because they don't know your using it outside of it's normal usage.

Your response to me right now just solidifies my theory that your either a banned or known forum user just making a new account just to cause issues. So please keep using words out of thier normal context because I'm not going to waste time trying to second guess if a word your using is from the urban dictionary or not. Thank you and have a nice day.

  • I think they are a banned user making a new account on the forums. Or that's my take on it, because the bestie comment didn't make sense to me either....unless they somehow know you personally outside of the forums or the game.

  • Really.....do what ever you want to be honest. You can either go full Meta like everyone else or play your way like me and others so.

Even though I'll probably get Mikaela once I get 9000 shards.....

What I meant is I just started playing as a Survivor and yet I'm matched against killers who played for more than 1k hours (31.9 hrs for the last week. I viewed the steam profile. Can see how long he played for the past week). Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I'm using the skills that it is given to me along with the survivor but I'm up against killers who can sprint onto me and bang against the wall to "adjust" ^^"

Personally, I feel that it's unfair for me to match against killers who are alot alot more experienced on the game while I'm totally new :( sorry. Just want to understand what's the definition behind the MMR system.

Yea that's the nature of the beast ATM. Don't let it get you down, play a few games and soon you'll start to balance out. Once you get better perks and get some experience under your belt you'll be fine.

Yeah, when Hawkins was in rotation it was one of most hated maps by the playerbase, usually considered the worst until Midwich and then RPD took that place.

I hope it will never return in any form.

Midwich isn't that bad as long as the Hooks spawn correctly. I personally like the map on both sides.......now RPD.....shall have a special place in my heart for all the hatred I have for it.

  • It was a horrible map made worse with Boons. That map showed how powerful Shadow Step is on indoor maps and how truly broken CoH was on indoor maps.

I only like it for the ambiance and I loved the creepy hooks with the Mind Flayer pissed rats.

  • @N8dog said:

dude, we JUST got the hemorrhaged rework announced. If you run sloppy survivors can not abuse resilience and if you scare someone healing away. they lose progress while relocating. This is a VERY killer sided midchapter. And even if you don't like legion or ghostface the hemorrhaged rework is a huge improvement.

Here's the thing Sloppy Butcher was a very weak perk because it was still hard to follow blood on alot of the maps...... Midwich is impossible to track via blood because of al the blood that's part of the map design. The

QoL changes are nice. Ghost Face's Changes seem meh at best, but Legion's looks really good. Does these changes make them better who knows til the PTB releases. Besides Peanits already said in another post that these are not all the patch notes there is more to come.

  • @bjorksnas said:

I think a better change from making the detonation instant is to just add the current detonation delay to charge time and slightly increase movement speed while charging to compensate so you don't loose any extra distance, removing that time seems like too much but I don't think he should lose distance on every shock in comparison to how he is now.

I think increasing range with each gen would be a nice change but the ability to damage survivors is probably best left out since his shock is unavoidable at longer ranges due to how it comes out in a cone, sure up close within 4-5 meters you could juke it to the left or right but when you are out ~20 meters its impossible to ever dodge it, and making it only on a 10 second cooldown means every chase with doctor would only last ~12 seconds and be an instant loss. But gain 1 meter of range with every completed gen seems like a nice touch without making him overtuned.

Ok that makes sense about the range. I was just throwing out a idea I was thinking of and didn't know how well it would work out.

  • Here is the thing she is fine the way she is because that's how the game is built. If maps didn't have so many Loops, safe pallets, windows, etc then her power would be very oppressive. But playing her myself I can see where she needs some buffs and some balancing changes.

Her anti loop is strong but not impossible to beat. She forces players to learn new ways to deal with her besides use loops over and over again. I played against really good Artist players and I had some issues but not many.

  • The only times I got face camped is when I deserved it.....I tormented the poor killers to the point that they wanted to see me die......ie a Doc that I chained pallet stuns into blinds for 3 Gens.....then that poor artist....I quick vaulted and quick lockered so many times it had to sound like a war zone.....yea I deserved the face camp and constant smacks on the hook.....

1 … 32 33 34 35 36 … 55
