The 4 Gens and the the 3 unhooks in endgame are atrocious for sure. Pretty sure there were a couple more that made me give up hope on Tier 4. Oh 3 NOED kills in endgame as well... eww.

Sadly proxy camping and tunneling is what the average killer has to do in order to at least have a chance against decent survivors if ruin is cleansed too early. It has happened to me and I've also done it. I mean, you can't really expect the killer to do 9 chases when there are only two gens left. The killer is not your team mate, whoever is playing killer will not make it easy on you just like you won't make it easier for the killer.
In my opinion camping and tunelling could be less of a problem once gen speed is tweaked.
This doesn't even remotely make sense. Increasing Gen time or game length in merely a BUFF to camping and tunneling. I can't believe people actually try to pretend increasing Gen Time will decrease camping and tunneling when the only counter to camping and tunneling is to "Gen Rush" and anyone deciding to try for the saves basically screws the entire team over. But yes, let's increase how long Survivors have to sit on Gen so even a face camping Leatherface has enough time to do it to everyone.
-
Probably cause both sides can deny the other side enjoyment rather easily. Survivors are more likely to DC cause there is more of them per a match and also cause the Killer has more freedom in deciding to give a Survivor a middle finger. (Camp, Tunnel, Mori, Prayer Beads, Omega Blinks, IH Hatchets, 3 Gen Doc/Game Doc) Survivors don't really have anything to that forces the Killer to sit and stare at themselves on a hook for 95% of their game play.
-
I stick around to make sure everyone is going to make it out as well as offer the Killer and myself some more BPs. In terms of pipping and scores... who actually cares?
-
Robin is too new and Billy will lack relevance as the series progresses unlike Steve and Nancy. Steve and Robin would of been a cute duo though with matching Scoops outfits.
-
The SS Killer always viewed as the 4K Queen before the Survivors ate like a solid year or two of nerfs got nerfed... it's about time. Though personally I'd take Prayer Bead and OHKO Huntress nerfs first.
Let's be honest here, if you're not 4King pretty consistent with her now, the problem was you.

Problem is they yell the loudest.
You seem to forget any moment any Killer aspect is nerfed in any aspect or when Survivors get any new perks that sound even somewhat useful to run. These boards fill up with Killer mains claiming the world is ending and how they will quit.
Over the years, Killers have been dramatically buffed and Survivors nerfed. It is time we see more equal re balancing. If a Killer was S tier before all these changes, surely they may need nerfs when Survivors have ate 10-20 nerfs in general game play.
-
You are pretending we don't live in a era when most Spirits that are even in a new chase go phase running back to to the unhook as soon as they see it happens...
Or the good old "I'm gonna go walk away now."
-Killers walks out of Terror Range-
-Heartbeat comes back-
"I forgot to ask if you needed anything while I'm away. No? Okay. Bye."
-Heartbeat lessens then picks back up-
"I forgot I left the stove on."
But yes, the Survivors who run straight over and unhook you as they hook you are very obnoxious as well.
-
Any tweaks to game length will be huge buffs to tunneling and camping.
-
Prayer Beads is just as busted as original DS.

Whatever I feel like playing.
Having a bad game and then going all ultra """tryhard""" against people that most likely weren't even involved in the previous game makes little to no sense to me personally.
This. SO MUCH THIS. Let me punish this random group of people cause I had my feelings hurt by another group. Well great, you're no better than the group that hurt your feelings!
-
Making the game take longer will just be a major buff to camping and tunneling.
No.
Thanks.
-
You should try Solo Survivor if you think Killer is bad. Good luck surviving even 25% of your matches from D/C allies, no gen repaired allies, and sweaty Killer running the strongest builds and tunneling.
Then I go Killer and spare 2-4 people cause it's just laughable easy in comparison. Yes, I'll go against those sweaty 4 man SWF here and there... but most matches I feel overpowered.
-
There's always those awkward moments the Killer disconnects cause they loss Ruin early on. Like come on, you know a Perk is a crutch perk when people rage quit the second it goes down even if they have a hooked survivor and still 5 gens left. But too many Killers think Ruin getting popped is the end for them.
That being said, I see more Survivors disconnect when they are downed than than Killers disconnect. Then again... I play solo and most matches the Killers ROFL stomp the team, so they really don't have much reason to DC against easy wins.
-
He didn't stack slow down Perks as many do and your team had a key + map. There is little proof here.
-
Prayer Beads is probably the most broken item/addon/perk ever added to the game, really feel they are more scared of the backlash of the mains more than the games ruined by this add on.
-
I hate them all. I'm more into cool and badass over gore with gore.
-
I spare people all the time. Typically I find most matches too easy/in my favor as Killer and would rather play cool with people over being some sweaty Killer that HAS TO GET THAT 4K no matter the outplay. Meg seems newer and is on her death hook with only 1 gen done. Girl is getting slugged to try some more at least for a few more gens. Jake has been a bro to his team and was fun to chase and fight, he'll get spared. Etc.
-
Don't let the haters get to you, I've played with some of them in this thread and they disconnect when things don't go their way. One of these posters disconnected in two different games.
-
Nope. I disagree fully.

Some is and some isn't. Some nodes on the web have page icons attached, completing these unlock the lore. But some are on each volume of the tome. So have fun trying to get all the lore. And if you were looking forward to unlocking the video at the end, most people won't be able to. You have to do every node to get the video.
Ouch! :o

Imagin you should ban a legion player who is not using susie skin oof
Male Legions are best Legions. One is Frank trying out drag for the first time and the other is waifu bait. The boys were better made, imho. Julie should of at least not looked like a gender bent Frank. Her new cosmetic at least looks decent though for Day of the Dead.
I have a lot of bias against Susie since about 10/10 of them for me hard tunnel and camp people. Had one refuse to attack anyone but me for an entire match cause she was triggered "you wasted a few pallets, I hate people like you" when she focused me for 99.99% of the match. I guess I should of "skillfully" looped her for the entire match to please her and not been trying to just straight up lose her.

I was, until we learned just how unfun the 3rd and 4th volume on the Tome's challenges will be. Infuriating to attempt and infuriating to play against. Not too mention even if you are a master of DbD (you aren't) and complete the challenges (you won't) you will still only earn half of the Rift. You will need to get the other half through serious grind. 800 xp per fragment, 8000 xp per rift level, and you only get 400 to 600 xp per match.
Have fun. :-P
Are the Claudette and Trapper lore at least unlocked early on in it? I know I could probably watch it on youtube, but I'd rather have their little lore fragments unlocked for myself to admire. xD
-
Killer has gotten a lot easier and always earned more BP. It's easy to see why! I really have slacked off as Killer cause I hate some of the wait times I've had... and also it really sucks if someone is a bad sport and D/Cs on me. I typically spare the others after making them think I'm playing to kill for awhile (never death hook) in these scenarios. Helps both sides feel better usually.
So instead I typically play solo Survivor and get horribly murdered about 19/20 games. :I

It's fun as hell to play Ghostface and dance around in the exit gate teabagging with survivors. I'd hate if the game took that away from me.
If I don't want to see survivors gloating, I just don't go near the exit gates. I usually spend my time post-final-gen looking for the hatch in case I get the chance to close it or at least deny it to a greedy survivor. With the EGC, it's not longer necessary to go anywhere near the gates to force them out; the timer takes care of that on its own.
Omg! I love when I spare some Survivors as Ghostface and I'm crouching at the exit and they open it up. Then they each come up to me and spam crouch in front of me and stare into my eyes then waddle off. It's freaking adorable, especially when it's like David or Jeff. The big boys making friends.
-
We should also ban Killers that tunnel, camp, nod their heads, moon walk, smack people on the hook, mori spam, slug, and probably some other stuff to?
Some things... you just got to take and not get upset over the little dumb stuff people do to try to make you upset.

Distortion isn't a good way to counter aura reading: it's a good way to know if you need to counter aura reading. A survivor gets hooked far away and Distortion doesn't go off? No need to waste time hiding in a locker. You hear the killer's TR while you're healing and Distortion doesn't go off? No need to stop healing. It'a an anti-time-waster perk.
It can also help you strategize if you find out the killer's running Bitter Murmur: save the final token for when the last gen pops, or make sure you're in a locker when the last gen pops.
I can see your point. I still think it's F tier and the highly situational aspects of the perk make it needless to bring up in terms of countering BBQ. But I'll respect it has "some" uses a bit more. it's like Calm Spirit... might come in handy once in a blue moon but is overall a waste of a slot.
-
I remember a Jake who got me down from a hook... and the hatchet went through my unhooked body and into him. Felt so bad for him. Also all those 6 foot pole smacks at windows. Good times.
-
I rarely actually witness this. Most Killers simply find the hatch before killing the 3rd person off and close it the second it opens up.

Um... who cares who runs and it and who doesn't? Popularity doesn't mean something is OP. My point is that it's counterable, before you even consider perks. Your the one choosing to die on this hill as to wither or not Distortion is good or not.
But popular <> OP. By that logic, we should also be nerfing Dead Hard, Ruin, ect.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/776809#Comment_776809
I've wondered why they went with tokens instead of a long cooldown on the perk.
Nah, I was just calling out how awful Distortion is to even try to use it as a counter to saying BBQ is fine as it is. I am mostly fine with BBQ myself, but I sure as heck can't stand someone bringing up some situational F tier perk as some holy grail to counter it.

how most killer have 0 sympathie did you even read some of their backstory
the first victim of the entity are the killer expect of course clown ghostface frank that are kind of psychphatic/violent character
(talking only of the original killer that aren't film/series rehash)
Excuse me? I won't cover the License killers besides Ghostface for obvious reasons.
Males
Trapper - Rich daddy's boy who started killing anyone who didn't meet his demands.
Ghostface - Serial killer who does it for giggles
Frank - Always had a dark side to him, was the first to strike the man and got the others involved even forcing Susie to do it.
Joey - Was the most willing of the Legion crew to stab the guy after Frank.
Clown - Serial killer since he was young, loves to torture.
Doctor - Likes to torture and do horrific experiments on people and see what he can achieve in it.
Hillbilly - Feral like, doesn't know better but it very brutal and disgusting. Could have some sympathy if he wasn't such a monster.
Wraith - Only male killer with a sob story since he didn't realize his murderous deeds for a long time and snapped at the evil man who had him do it.
Ladies
Hag - Captured and tortured by cannibals. Joined the Entity for revenge/survival.
Nurse - Loss her husband and suffered horrible mental stress till she snapped.
Plague - Tried to keep the peace and hope of plague victims till she fell to it herself.
Spirit - Horribly murdered by her father after he did it to her mother.
Julie - Her boyfriend started the act protecting her/did it for love.
Susie - Frank forced her hand.
Huntress - Similar to Hillbilly, doesn't know better but is very brutal. She however has the "saw her mom die" sob part.
The ladies very clearly get sob stories compared to the more "evil" males.

oh no baby, headphones are a MUST for both survivor AND killer. There are so many small sounds that your ears get trained to that give you important info as to whats happening in the game.
Best of luck playing solo, evertime i play by myself i end up raging because my teammates usually dont play with their brains :(
Solo has gotten very frustrating. I can go a night with only deaths to showcase. Then I pop on Killer and get a bunch of 4Ks with Ghostface or Hag even without headphones. Part of the time I feel bad and spare half of them cause it's just... easy. Solo play and casual Survivors are getting stomped nowadays. I agree with a lot of the Survivors nerfs that have happened, but I feel things may be getting a bit too weighed in the Killer's favor for most of the fan base.
Also doesn't help the super toxic, sweaty, and rude Survivor mains that abused their OP state in the past have jumped ship to do it as Killer now since Killers have gotten many buffs.

Good or bad, it still counters the aura reading. And as Sairek pointed out, it's also information as to what the killer is running so you can react accordingly when the tokens are used up.
Sorry most of those are painfully obvious. Nurse's Calling is easily noticed when the Killer bee lines to you suddenly. Pig always knows when and where your removing a trap? Kind of obvious. You're using on of your perk spots for "potential" and limited knowledge/use.
How many people in this thread actively run Distortion? How many run BBQ? I wonder which would win a popularity poll?!?!

Well as long as you have it, it might be a 'every man for himself' type deal lol but if your concerned about your teammates, if your in a swf on mics, let them know she has beads so if they dont have any perks to help them, they can gen tap.
Also, something ive discovered playing against her (and youll need a good headset for this along with eagle eyes) She does move grass and can make tiny little flat foodstep sounds while shes phasing that you can hear approaching you. They arent as loud as say Wriath big footed self but they are. Look out for those next time and let me know if you catch them :D
I play solo. I can't warn people and can't force my whole team to run Spine Chill just in case a Spirit is bringing her obnoxiously OP add on.
I don't play with headphones so I do miss out on the footsteps or breathing aspects in general. :/

But it explicitly does.
Distortion is way better than useless perks like Deja Vu or No Mither.
It's not meta or anything nor is it even close to being a contender.
It's just one of those mediocre perks with a decent effect that is far too situational to really take full advantage of.
Only 3 charges kills it though. It's rather limited for a perk, meanwhile BBQ can reach a solid 11 uses in a match. BBQ is pretty much a Killer meta perk and has been since it came out. Distortion is in the trash can with most Survivor perks.
I'm mostly arguing with the idea people are trying to say a very limited perk that can be used up quickly in a match is on the level of a match long perk that comes with BP benefits.

Where did I say Distortion was good?
Re-read my statement, tell me where I said it was good? Show me your work.
Maybe you shouldn't of even brought up Distortion then? Saying Distortion counters all aura reading perks is simply silly. It's like saying No Mither is a good perk. It's just false. Even Deja Vu might be stronger than Distortion cause it has a small use.
-
@FrenziedRoach said:
This perk has viable counterplay in that you only need to be within a certain radius to not show up at all or just hide in a locker. That's literally all you need to do.
And that is BEFORE you get Jeff's perk, Distortion, involved which counters not just BBQ, but every other aura-reading perk the killer has.
Distortion is a trash tier perk. Don't even try to pretend it's a counter as you literally state why it's awful in the same place you're trying to pretend it's good. It has 3 whole charges... and any aura read removes a charge. It's a horrible perk.
-
I actually am mostly fine with the perk currently since the locker buff for Survivors gave it more counter play. Only issue with it is how much it hurts the Survivors against highly mobile killers like Billy, Nurse, Freddy, and Spirit. It snowballs really easy on them.
For now though, I don't see much reason to nerf it. I still think making the aura read end with activating your ability could help with the mobility killer issue. But not sure it's really needed at the time being.
I also never really liked how BBQ has benefits while WGLF doesn't. Seems like WGLF could of got the Baby Sitter perk added to it.
-
Claudette is a super sweet heart of a character, so I'm excited for some lore on her. I just hope they don't ruin her character to appease the "All Claudettes are horrible people" meme. She is probably my favorite of the female cast and it's not cause she can blend into the dark better.
Trapper was my boy for awhile, but I never cared much for his personality and lore. He's just a rich jerk gone murderous. Most of the male Killers have almost 0 sympathy factors going for them unlike the females who get the sob stories.
-
I forgot about Steve! He's a cute one for sure as well.
Still want a blond though. Then a ginger. Why the guys all have to have dark hair? This actually just isn't a DBD issue but games in general. Blond and ginger guys don't exist in them.

bring spine chill and that reaction time you want is given to you.
Spine chill isnt just for spirit, i use it for wraith, ghostface, pig, knowing when a killer has nurse, bbq, or any other perk that reveals auras. Plus it just gives you a heads up to know if a killer is just near by, or making a beeline in your direction. Put it on, play with it a few games and youll be like me and wont go in a game without it
As I said, I know Spine Chill can work against her. But I have to have it on (without knowing what I'm facing) and expect all of my allies to have it. Otherwise the Killer gets free grabs on 1-4 Survivors depending on who has the perk attached.
It's a horrible mechanic.
-
I remember when we had the special hooks and gens... you'd face IH Huntress standing at the gen or a Leatherface perma rev'd at it. Or you go against a team where 2 Survivor were sabotaging the event hooks.
So yes, I imagine many players on both sides being complete jerks to the other side and further hindering people from completing the challenges and missing out on the prizes.
-
@Rin_is_my_waifu said:
I can't take you seriously when you say that you hate leatherface who is one of the worst killers in the game. No offense, but you are clearly new to the game and I think not more than rank 14. My advice is, play more killer and survivor and then come here to cry for nerfs.
Someone can hate a Killer and their play style even if they are weak. I hated old Freddy as he was just tedious to play against and really was a 0 skill Killer with some glaring faults both as playing him and playing against. Even though he is a lot stronger, I do prefer facing new Freddy over old Freddy. Liking or hating facing them isn't entirely based on their power level. Do you even play Survivor?
Leatherface is a weaker killer, but his kit does make him the most mindless camper. So he often attracts those players and has a bad reputation due to this.
-
My main issue has always been Prayer Beads. If I am not running Spine Chill... I literally am a free down with no counter play anytime I touch a Gen or one of her totems. I will KOBE these matches typically once I am caught. There is literally 0 enjoyment about getting grabbed off gens by a invisible Killer and the player behind her is obviously wanting and seeking a easy mode 4K match.
-
Most of my solo Survivor games seem to be a bunch of casual or new Survivors against some sweaty Killer afraid he/she isn't going to get the 4K even if they're running OP add ons, no gens are complete, and someone is already dead or disconnected. Prayer Beads just needs to get mori'd out of the game for one.
-
Jake, David, Jeff, and Dwight have decent to good looks. I can't rank them at the moment in tiers, but they're my top picks.
Though it has bothered me we haven't gotten a hot blond guy. Don't most old school horror movies have some hot blond guys?!? Typically either the snobbish rich bully, the obviously gay but liked by all the girls sweetheart, or the comic relief?
-
@Mister_Holdout said:
Red rank is already 90% Spirit though?
I think that's all ranks. She is a easy Killer with a strong position in the Tier list. Then give her a add on that is counter able by one perk that will be a easy slaughter for anyone not running that perk with Gen grabs... with a mostly naked Asian girl body as the design. I wonder who a lot of young, straight men are going to pick?

Thats my point Spirit will become much more common with these changes and survivors hate playing against her. So good job bhvr :D
Nerfing Spirit (at least Prayer Beads) could help this or buffing a F tier Killer. ;p
-
Spirit was already more popular. Pervs and weebs like her body for one. And she is easier to play than Billy, Nurse, or Hag. Lastly, she has a almost uncounterable add on that is only beat by a single perk that a Survivor has to equip before even knowing what they are facing.

There's a lot of factors going into that stat. Good players quitting and DCs being the biggest ones that likely inflate it.
A good team on a strong map (and there are still plenty of strong maps) should win against anything other than Spirit/Nurse a very good percentage of the time.
But people disconnecting is more common than legendary sweaty 4 man SWF running the meta and instaheals. I mean I find it laughable how many people on here act like every other match is some professional e sports team of toxic behavior and ignore the 85% of the matches they rofl stomp casuals or solos.
