  • Probably been best if he never was made. Awful concept where his power mainly promotes hard camping and denying any possible save on a hooked person.

He's in the bottom 3 with Clown and Legion. But I can at least see where they could be made stronger, more interesting, and dynamic. Leatherface... just have the player spawn at the hook immobile with one person randomly chosen on it. When they die, replace with another random survivor. Remove his ability to walk or even use his chainsaw or even look around. But also remove the Survivor's ability to be rescued or KOBE. They both just sit there. It's basically current Leatherface simplified farther.

  • I struggle to do well with him but lack great perks on him as well. I know he can be a massive pain to the last 1-2 survivors alive scenario since he can camp the gates or last 3 gens very easily.

    I think he could better.

  • Bad Pigs relying on cheap/easy tactics. I played her for awhile (though GF stole my stealth/crouchable heart), and I really tried to not do this. Of course there'd be a odd match where someone got under my skin and the Survivors snowballed on me, so I had to fall back on it.

But any Pig player worth their snoot will not tunnel the trapped players.

  • Part of me wants Jake cause he is whole some and needs more love than he gets. But part of me wonders if the quality of these will increase, so he will get better stuff if he waits. I feel Dwight and Meg already get quite a bit of love and attention, but that may mean they would be more appealing to the team than poor Jake. But Jake would offer Sabotage challenges which may be a break from the normal! I feel Dwight is pretty one note in his perks and wouldn't break away from Claudette's very much.

I like Wraith a lot more than Hillbilly, so that's a easy choice. I even have his candle outfit, so I can be festive during it!

In terms of lore connections. Jake has father issues and future issues. He wanted something nice and simple, but his father wanted him to take over the business. This could link up to the Wraith wanting a normal life, but his boss put him into a horrible position. Maybe they could connect where maybe both of them looked up to their authority figures, but they turned away and went alone after discovering the horrible truth.

However, Wraith could also connect to Meg (being stuck in a position when they could be doing something better) or Dwight. (not fitting into the crowd, bad workplace)

There are 4 OC Survivors and only 3 Killers. I wonder how they will handle this. Hopefully someone doesn't get neglected!

  • The game would be better off without Leatherface. He is a abomination in terms of game play.

And to those advocating "just do gens" seem to not realize solos will not know what is going on typically. So you will likely get at least 2 Survivors going over there for the save to find out he is camping. Then they may test what type of camp it is (maybe he is just checking, maybe he is chasing someone around the hook, or maybe he is hard camping) before moving on. Then you got travel time to get to the different gens/the gate. It's very easy for a 2K to happen even if all Survivors rush the gens. Throw in NOED and any delays can easily turn it into a 3K.

But if the victim of it suicides, 3-4K. If someone tries to save, 3-4K. So basically if the whole game doesn't bow down to his boring style, he wins.

    It's awful.

No, face camping does not exist anymore. They removed it when they added the swivel unhook. Face camping prevented from a game mechanic stand point from an unhook from occurring. This has been removed. Everything else is either hard or patrol camping. Face camping is dead and has been for a while.

I have no plans to change your mind because I know I cannot. You have shown you are dead set in your view of ebony moris. Nothing anyone says will influence you. You have basically put your views out there, what everyone else to agree with you, and belittle anyone who disagree.

Leatherface can pretty much face camp though. All he has to do is sit right there with his power on and the save is impossible. It's more a issue with that Killer existing than anything else though. While the old school face camp is dead, Leatherface is pretty darn close to that power level.

  • Hmm....

    S Tier

    Spirit, Billy, Freddy

    A Tier

    Hag, Huntress, Plague, Ghost Face

    B Tier

Oni, Myers, Wraith, Trapper, Demo, Doctor, Pig

    C Tier

    Legion, Clown, Bubba

Spirit is easy to use for high profit, nerfs were a tickle. Billy has almost never been touched and still remains a easy go to for 4Ks, many Spirit players flocked to him when she got nerfed out of fear their waifu was trash. Freddy has more in his arsenal than most Killers can dream of. I'd rather see C Tier get looked into before these three however.

Legion, Clown, and Bubba need reworks, not buffs. None offer remarkable game play for either side. Legion needs a more fast and furious style to him, Clown needs more options for potions/things to do like Freddy got, and Bubba is a horrible abomination that should of never been made the way he is. (Facecamp King)

IDK on Nurse. Never wanted to play her cause of her stun on teleports bothering me and that she was the 4K Queen. Tried her once and fought a couple of her, not really sure where she is at still.

Edit- I FORGOT MY BOI. Oni is really fun, but he feels very loopable. Hillbilly is easier and stronger to play. Oni needs some help and Hillbilly may need knocked down a peg to help level them out better.

And Demo... forgot him to. He is great at screwing over 1-2 players since he can guard multiple gens/exits with ease. But not really anything remarkable.

Facecamping at red ranks ends with one kill and 3 escapes.

Except that if even one person decides to try to risk saving... the game is pretty much handed to the Killer. And camping unless Ruin is out of play can lead to 2K pretty easily. Went against a couple of face camp Leatherfaces recently and one got 2K (I was second caught) and the other 3K. (Feng decided to try to save the 2nd caught, I escaped)

Basically it relies on Survivors actually wanting to have fun. If they do, the camper wins. Also the camped victim has to be willing to not suicide. If they do, 3-4K easily.

If you get grabbed that's on you, most maps are like autohaven/mac millan, so the chance of you getting grabbed are low, I never get grabbed and I dont use spine chill, and grabs are bugged so...

There's plenty of corners to block vision and some maps are heaven for stealth killers. I get enough grabs in high ranks as Ghost Face to know it has huge snowball potential.

  • They are okay... not as awful as people make them out to be... but not fun to play and delegated to M1 being their only source of downing someone as their power hinders them in downing Survivors.

Alongside Clown, I'd love to see Frank get a rework. Not buffs. Rework to be something different.

  • @Mr_K said:

    Green keys are broken.

Key is at Green Mori power level.

    Pink Mori is drastically stronger.

  • I like it cause I prefer not to have a Pig, GF, Spirit, or Myers grab me off something. It's a free down and can quickly snowball the match. Old Prayer Beads basically made Spine Chill mandatory.

  • I've done the challenges, but I'm at David's tank top in the tiers. I don't know if any of the last prizes are really worth dropping the time or money on. David's tank top was probably one of the better late tier rewards anyways.

  • You should block out the player's name, this is name and shaming. Also the whole conversation is basically two people being immature, including yourself. I understand firing back though as I did that against a triggered Nurse player when I told her GG when she got a 1K after trying to be nice and patient with her but it kept getting saltier. It can be hard to stay cool when dealing with people triggered to that point.

It's funny how some players try to make it out the game is survivor sided when even the stats support otherwise. Surely you haven't been playing for years or else you know that Survivors use to be rather OP and have been severely toned down. Those sweaty 4 Man SWF are still stronger than a Killer, but that's like 2% of the matches. Otherwise, you got some OP Killers, some balanced ones, and some UP ones. Be cool if people would stop trying to cry one side or the other is absurdly broken just cause they get their butts beat on occasion.

And the bias is easily shown when you quickly get defensive in regards to the Spirit's power level. Her nerf was a tickle overall, but it luckily that scared off many players who only played her cause she was OP cause typically the player base is over dramatic and think any slight nerf is a gutting. True gut nerfs would be Legion and Sabotage. Personally I mainly wanted to see Prayer Beads go down, so I'm a lot happier with her currently. That was such a "I win" add on that it should of been nerfed a long time ago.

TLDR, anyone claiming "Survivor sided" is just as immature and wrong as the Survivor being named and shamed in this thread.

  • Not nearly as game breaking as falling under the map as Survivor when basement hooked. Or that old Survivor gets stuck inside the hook's pole resulting in either the Survivor or Killer having to disconnect to end the match. (and lose all BPs)

  • I know I'm going to pop a big old hole into your story...

But the other Survivors likely knew nothing of his message to you. And if they did, they would be his friend and take his side anyways if he was wrong.

So to randoms, you were a toxic tunneling camper who made one guy's life hell. To SWF members, you picked on their buddy.

I went against a facecamp Leatherface, a slug and camp Billy, and a Nurse who lost her marbles in post game chat cause I said "gg" to her when she got 1K. (like she legit went full mouth of salt pouring out of her mouth as she hurled insults and accusations)

All of those tonight in my idk 10 matches? There's always tons of nasty players on here sadly. It is what it is. But you can't really blame onlookers without the inside information for not knowing what went down between you and the other player.

  • As others also seem to feel, the outfit is nice but the hair isn't good for my tastes. I'm not really a Meg player though, so I don't have much interest in it. She was my most disliked survivor for awhile till toxic Neas and clueless Fengs replaced her.

  • @BloodMoneyMerc said:

@NoShinyPony only other killers I think I haven't seen in a while is Nurse & Billy

I see Billy all the time, I figured he took Spirit's spot of "easiest 4K" for people.

I've seen and played a fair share of Oni myself.

  • I got the Basement one on my 2nd try and the Dark Sense one on my first try. It took me more games (and I threw it for my own safety) to get the 4 stuns one. But that being said, I felt like a awful person slugging and basement proxy camping. I felt bad doing this one and the one to kill 2 with NOED at collapse. Just eww. And for Dark Sense, I got lucky it was a awful Spirit who was a hard camper who was relying on crutch NOED to help her in the end. (it did)

  • Sabotage is kind of iconic at this point and it would be sad to be it removed. If someone pulls it off in it's current state... props to them. I've done it a handful of times and it feels amazing.

However it is really situational and weak. But I don't understand people wanting it "removed" when it does slow the game down. Anyone sabotaging drastically increases game time typically unless you target/tunnel the sabotage user.

  • @TruEternity said:

So for OTZ and Tru, their kill rates mean nothing. Both have thousands of hours in the game, and are both skilled to boot. They will both naturally do well, and get a high kill percentage of they try to win.

I will agree that dedicated servers have made a lot of little things very annoying as a survivor. Dead hard becoming exhausted on the ground, and the aforementioned window and pallet hits. I don’t feel this is a particular side bias though, just bad programming/coding/design that hopefully gets ironed out in the future.

Isn't it weird though that these guys almost constantly 4K stomp, but they often find themselves complaining how OP the Survivors are almost constantly? I just find it weird to watch them win without much effort and then turn around and cry when a Survivor briefly uses something (like Dead Hard) to get away and suddenly they are complaining. Then they 4K anyway.

    :I

  • The data cannot be taken at face value. That's a mistake to make.

But I do find the people trying to swipe it all under the rug and claim Killers are still drastically under powered quite humorous as you know if the data showed a 80% escape rate... just think about the Rank 1 data that indicated a super high escape rate not long ago... we'd have about 50x the topics declaring for Survivor nerfs.

Both sides have issues, they always will.

  • Problem - Any increase to Survivor Objective Time will be a massive buff to camping and tunneling as a whole. (on top of killers in general)

"Solution" people bring up here - Well increase hook time. that'll balance that.

Problem - You're telling me you want Survivors to spend more time either on the hook in a hopeless and inputless state against a camper while the other Survivors spend more time M1'ing or whatever lame little "activity" you guys come up with?

"Gen Rush", "Camping", and "Tunneling" play off of each other. You cannot just tack on more objective time and expect Camping and Tunneling to not be more drastically more effective and cause more suicides on hooks as players don't want to sit for a LONGER time period staring at themselves on a hook.

  • It'd be cool if they did a Survivor popularity/survival chart like they did the Killers. We'd likely see Quentin and Adam as the bottom two.

As for the new girl. She is young, pretty, tough, and Asian. They knew she'd market very well. Most gamers are sexually driven straight men in their youth, anything with a somewhat pretty face and some curves will be HIGHLY popular. That's why she is already cosmetically gifted.

We basically live in reverse sexism of video game characters. The males are no longer that popular (outlook of you're gay if you want to look at a guy) and aren't made to be appealing to look at. Meanwhile the females are much more popular (prior was you're a wuss to play as a girl) and basically go through a "would the players want to make naughty fan art of her" test before coming out.

Show those statistics please. Iirc the latest i have seen to that show almost 50% across all ranks from 10-1 it gets above 50% and from 10-20 below 50%.

Was from the Devs that floated around here for awhile.

But ya, from my personal experience on both sides of the playing field, Killers typically win the match. I tend to spare the last 1-2 people though, so I actually make Killers look weaker... guess I should stop hurting the stats. :o

  • If were Killers were strong enough to constantly 4K the most skilled and coordinated SWF groups the world has to offer.... this game would quickly die as the other 99% of the community would never survive a match.

  • Maybe if the game wasn't about torturing and hurting the Survivors... I could see this as a good thing. But as the game is and how the community likes to treat each other like dirt... I'd rather not.

The 75% fall recovery let's the survivor loop that window several times after the speed boost BL gives wears off. There's a specific way to fall that gives you more distance than the killer can make up for.

No it's still an infinite without the speed boost. It's the fact you recover from a fall faster than makes it infinite.

Oh I see, thanks for explaining that as I overlooked the other part of that perk!

Nothing has changed, Killer still requires Survivor mistakes to capitalize on to win. If the survivors play perfectly the Killer cannot battle all 4 efficiently enough to win with any regularity.

Try playing clown for instance. You can play real well in chases and still lose to gens popping all over.

    You know its true.

Stop putting your head in the sand.

    Nothing has changed. What?!?!

Hag rework/buff. Trapper rework/buffs. Wraith rework/buffs. Nurse nerfs. Totems better hidden. DL changed. New Killer perks. New Killers like Spirit and Ghost Face. Legion reworked/nerfs. Freddy rework/buffs. Gen and Door time increased. EGT. Closing hatch.

BT nerf, Instant heals nerfed, BNP nerfed, DS nerfed, MoM, MoM nerfed, buff to stealth killers, new perks, loops nerfed, pallet vacuum nerfed, window reworks, Sabotage gutted, medkits changed, Exhaustion nerfs, gen stacking nerfed, WGLF nerfed,

And yes, please bring up one of the worst Killers as if he validates another Killer or a add on or a offering being OP. I guess all Survivor stuff is fine cause No Mither is trash.

  • @thesuicidefox said:

Haddonfield has a true infinite at the Myers house if the window at the top of the basement steps spawns and the survivor has Balanced Landing.

There are also several true infinites against Huntress on some tiles, like Wretched Shop or Storehouse depending on the orientation of windows.

Most spots that people call infinites are really semi-infinite. But since this game is all about time they might as well be infinites because by the time you catch the guy the game will be over.

I question this. BL would only pop once in a chase, so they can't keep reusing the loop if BL is crucial to it.

The problem is that you assume red ranks have anything to do with being good at the game which they don't as potatoes can still be seen in all ranks.

All those nerfs and still we escape more matches than we die in. ?

Statistics don't back that up. Average is 3K.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/814028#Comment_814028

You are 100% wrong on this. Morphs depip squad proved that if the survivors are played optimally then there is nothing a Killer can do to win.

The Killer depends on Survivor mistakes to win, if the survivors play perfectly and the killer plays perfectly. The the survivor wins, every time.

You just keep telling yourself its balanced.

Please stop fleeing to a outdated experiment (Survivors have been drastically nerfed, Killers buffed compared to then) that doesn't even match up to about 98% of the matches anyone will ever play.

  • @2Khours said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/815857#Comment_815857

many things have to be changed on both side, both had bad designs, old pallets were totally broken and if they would be back now, there would be 0 killers,

insta heals were really needed, and they aren't useless.

those were simply OP, yea nurse was op, spirit is kind of OP, but not because it's kinda it means it have to be nerfed, things can be realy good without the need of a nerf.

So OP Survivor stuff needs nerfed, but OP Killer stuff don't?

At the very least, anyone with no bias should recognize that Prayer Beads is literally more broken than both old BNPS and old Insta Heals.Having access to literally stealth instant downs is just complete and utter bull.

  • Cause to be honest, this game allows players to be complete jerks to each other. Tunneling and camping is basically spawn camping, but your spawn is literally a meat hook you sit on. Survivors literally can spend most of their match not actually playing the game. Looping meanwhile is something that RNG layout and the Killer picked that makes a Killer feel hopeless in chases whenever the Survivor enters that spot. So you feel punished at times for picking a weaker Killer.

  • Killers don't need more BP perks when Survivors still don't even have a bonus on No Mither and earn a fraction of what a Killer can.

Otherwise I don't think we need MORE stealth options for Killers. I thought Survivors were supposed to be the stealth side?!?

  • So were you okay with all the Survivors nerfs over the years? I mean can we bring back insta heals, BNP, old DS, old BT, old MoM, totem spawns, etc?

Face it, both sides have OP stuff that needs toned down. Prayer Beads is the most busted thing in the game.

  • So people in this thread advocate and cheer on nerfs to Survivors, but their whole demeanor is "if you nerf Spirit, why not just remove all Killers" when a nerf to Killers is brought up.

    Hypocritical.

Oh boy, how did I ever main Hag back 2 years ago in Red Ranks before Survivors got a year or two of nerfs while Killers got buffs followed by buffs.

I must of been a god at this game. :I

  • The terms were made up by players in the first place, so it's not shocking that people don't agree on the exact definition as it evolves as times goes as well. Like when I started, flapping your arms on a hook meant the Killer was camping. Now either new players or Killer mains have completely screwed it up as people use it for both.

Also people get self defensive about being accused of running a loop or tunneling... in which case they usually respond "it's not my fault you don't know how to mind game or hide" when the person was just looping or tunneling and don't want to admit to it.

  • The mentality in this thread is almost as equally as disgusting as the disconnecting issue. When you guys stop trying to turn this game into a giant us vs them issue where each side is constantly belittling and attacking the other side like elementary school children... then maybe one day this community won't be one of the worst I've ever seen.

There's people who disconnect cause they don't want to lose. And there are people who disconnect who aren't having fun and just opt out. I don't really endorse either of these, but the 2nd one comes from poor game design. Both sides have ways to give a middle finger to other players and make the game miserable for them. The first though is people just being children, and I've seen both sides D/C cause they don't want to lose.

  • Downing the unhooked Survivor for DS to work doesn't mean you're some godly player by any means. It just means you're playing in a generally viewed as scummy way that even the devs are trying to get Killers away from doing with little perks like Make Your Choice, Babysitter, and DS.

  • Maybe playing Killer isn't for you or the people posting in this thread then?

I find Survivor more stressful and antifun. As Killer, I never have to worry about having 3 sacks of potatoes as my allies, I don't have to worry about my misplay screwing over allies, and I never ever have to be worried about being reduced to a hook warmer by a hard camper or tunneler.

Killers get to be constantly on the move and can control what type of match the match will be. I can try hard and kill a weak link off quickly or leave them slugged to show some empathy. Usually I feel I can control how the match will go down. Where as Solo Survivor, I'm more at the mercy of my allies and the killer. If he/she decides to camp/tunnel for quick kills and even just one of my allies feeds this by going f or the save and speeding up the sacrifice... the game is likely a hatch game. And if the Killer has the advantage there as well, so they will very likely slug the last two players till they find the hatch to deny any chance of escape.

I mean how much easier do you want the game to be in 97% of the matches? The Survivors spawn in the basement with exposed status effect and Ebony mori is default? The game has only gotten easier for Killers over the last year or two.

  • @Xerge said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/803030#Comment_803030

Maybe we've just had different experiences playing as survivor, because most of the time camping and tunneling are rare at red and purple ranks, unless ruin doesn't last more than 30 seconds, like I said before. Maybe things are different at lower ranks, but I can barely remember what or what did not trigger camping and tunneling at lower ranks and to be honest I wasn't even paying attention because I was still new to the game and trying to figure out how to play.

Spirit, Hillbilly, and Nurse typically have the map coverage to not rely on camping as much with Chili. They typically chain their downs and if the new prey is looking too spicy for them, they double back to the hook with their map mobility for the tunnel. Especially Spirit. You see her chasing someone, get unhooked. WOOOSH VACCUM NOISES INBOUND. Freddy and Demo can use this as well with their teleport though aren't quite as easy to use.

Sadly most Hags rely on the 4 or more traps at a hook with Make Your Choice so that both the unhooker or hooked victim are easy downs when she wobbles her way back. As a Hag main, I hate most Hags cause they play like that. I'd place a trap there to slow/cause fear during the rescue, but I typically never ported back there cause I was already setting up a new web or at gens.

  • He certainly doesn't need a nerf, but you'd be silly to think he is even remotely bad as he use to be. He hasn't aged the best, but those traps can quickly turn a match around. I had very easy success with him doing the challenges personally. But I did play him quite a bit at one point in the Red Ranks so Purple/Green is cake walks 9/10 times.

  • Prayer Beads needs removed. Then go from there. She is obviously overpowered, but I don't know how they could nerf her without destroying her. So just start by gutting that ridiculously overpowered add on and then see if her kill count levels out better.

Also why do people think nerfing a S tier killer doesn't mean a D or F tier Killer can't get buffs. Do people really not understand simple balancing? Just cause Legion is under performing (granted, we don't know the data on them that they have) and needs buffs, doesn't mean Spirit can't be toned down. And vise versa.

  • Since most of the Killers are caught up on this besides Legion, maybe next year we will get a couple for Survivors. Meg and David would be a good combo. Her being the runner and David being like her guard or Killer wrangler.

See that's the problem. You're equating the archives with the halloween event.

It didn't need to be either or.

Ahh, I got you. Well survival rate in matches is already going in the gutter, I really doubt adding those flowers back would do anything but tank survival rank to pitiful levels.

I mean, thats the only way some Killers get Kills, even before the Archives... So is it really a challenge to use NOED?

    @Gen Challenge:

If it is working on 4 Gens which are completed, this is actually not that bad. Nothing done in first try, but also not impossible.

Well, I don't know if people who play THAT bad as Killer will even make it that far. Can only get kills with NOED? Like really?!? Maybe if you play no trap Hag.

Not only do I typically avoid crutching on NOED, I really don't want to make sure I get 3 kills after a gate is opened while also having to worry someone will just leave the others or D/C.

  • @Xerge said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/802983#Comment_802983

I may be wrong, but I talk from my own experience playing as survivor - I've noticed that at purple and red ranks some killers only start to proxy camp and tunnel when ruin is cleansed too early. So my guess is that if they knew they still have time for 12 chases they'd probably go for them. I know that in the current state of the game it doesn't matter if the killer is decent and I bet the killers know this too, he is going to get genrushed and lose if ruin doesn't last more than 30 seconds unless he proxy camps and tunnels someone to death.

You're pretending that remotely even a fraction of this community cares to play somewhat sportsman like. If Gen/Game time is increased... camping and tunneling will be easy 4Ks. They are already strong as hell, because even 1 person trying to go for the save puts the team behind.

  • I think some people fail to grasp and will always fail to grasp is that sitting in the search, sitting in the lobby, and load screen to wind up staring at yourself on a hook for 95% of your game play for crap BPs cause the Killer decided they want to play that way sucks horrifically. And even if I'm not the victim of it, I know it sucks for the people who are.

    "bUt Do GeNs"

Oh yes, with all the slow down perks and Killers crying for Gen times to be increased cause it ain't fair to them. And we all know that Survivors find staring at Gens and ignoring trying to save or help allies is the funnest and most BP profitable play style. Add to that if anyone does try to save the person, the person's death is sped up and the other player is now also not doing gens. Suddenly your escape relies on "do they look for the hatch before killing #3?"

  • I'll gladly takes these challenges with lore over some stupid hold M1 flower. :I

1 … 12 13 14 15 16 … 19
