We can talk about killers in same way.

Its very frustrating to go against killer who olays like trash whole match, looping him like a baby just to die on very first hook when gate is open due to NOED and facecamping noob.

If you know you encounter dh each match why dont u use perks giving exhaust debuff???

Because they literally took it away from every killer except for like a Few...

tis why i loved playing old clown, Get rids of their Exhaustion for free =D,

Needs to be brought back ngl...

What's funny to me is people say BASE nurse is broken. But really it's her add ons that even make the best killer in the game possible.

I don't think folks realize that without distance. She moves slower then a 4.6. Without recharge. The time to regain blinks is aweful..Which is managable if you run double distance.

Base blight is better then base nurse IMO

    base nurse is somewhat balanced...

they needa buff her base blink recharge and nerf the addons for recharge, so it'll be actual balance..

the cd is just waaay too long imho..

also base blight just feels slow to me if i don't run double speed..

    ...im addicted to it

  • @gendoss said:

Basically everybody agrees that Nurse is by far the best killer, sometimes even in a tier of her own. Why does nobody care that she's OP? I believe she deserves to be balanced like every other killer but she's barely been changed at all over the years except for her add-ons. I just never see anybody mention nerfing her.

Because she's the Only killer that can actually compete with actually good survivors..

if she gotten a nerf alongside blight and Maybe spirit, the game would not survive honestly,

The Billy nerf still makes me question what decisions they have..

The Blight build was way more unfair. Survivors don't have anything that could stop it.

You know the unfairness and how OP it is because killers can win with that build almost blind folded. The 4 survivors have to be sweaty, on comms, and make no mistakes and even then they might lose to it.

    It desperately needs a nerf.

the day i see it nerfed is the day Stretch Res would be fixed too,

Only one of them is getting fixed, and it's literally not these two, combined,

I have to address a few of these points here:

    1. The meta. Who cares about the meta tbh? The killer meta has been allowed to change so much because killers constantly get new powerful perks while survivors get like 1 decent perk every 4 character updates. That's not a point in favor of survivors but that shows for favorability to killers instead.
    2. There were so many bad suggestions for how to nerf DS that would have made the perk absolutely useless. Yes it took a while, but they found a good fit. The other perks you mentioned were easier to come to (and deserved)
    3. DS and Unbreakable is an overrated combo that only works if a killer decided to slug and tunnel. If you don't slug or tunnel, 2 out of their 4 perks are useless.
    4. Boons are fine.
    5. Hit validation has been killer favored almost since the game came out. There have been millions of clips of people vaulting a window and running before getting hit by something because the game was run on the killers connection and as far as they were concerned, they hit you. Now it's based on the server connection and it's balanced but hit validation has literally never been survivor favored.
    6. Perks. I addressed this earlier but survivors constantly get garbage perks when new survivors are released versus killers who get perks that are actually good enough to replace things they have in their build.
    1. Boons are fine: ...I was referring to CoH... you didn't read that part i mentioned about how absurd it is..
    2. Hit Validation: ...Survivors being greedy with pallets and should've been hit but got saved due to "Validation" would like to have words with you,
    3. Ds / Unbreak: ...slap that sucker on all 4 survivors and even if you decide to do a mass slug and get pressure, that's a hellova time you're losing on hooking and applyin' pressure, even when they choose the "no mindgame and pre-throw" value, Also high MMR would like to have a word with you..
    4. The Meta: Killer meta changed atleast 8-9 times in it's lifespan.. Survivor barely changed, Why? Cause it's too great to pass up, Dh? ds? Unbreak? Bt? Sign me the hell up for a glorious time of "Screwing with the killer"
    5. So many bad suggestions: I've seen alot more posts just LITERALLY saying that ds can't work if you're doing something, I.E what our current ds is..
    6. Perks: Killer perks would like to also have a word with you... if you took atleast say blight for example, out of like 200 or so killer perks, Only atleast 20-30 perks would be good for him, ...And that's it, some killers benefit greatly with half and or more the perks that're accessible, and then there are other killers... that can barely benefit from over 30..
  • ...There is alot. Should i explain?

Let's talk the Meta for Example, So far Killers have had their meta changed about maybe... 7-8 times now? Whereas Survivor had maybe 3-4 time's it changed.

Ds took exactly 4-5 years to nerf, whereas ruin / pop both got changed / nerfed (mainly pop nerf) Waaay before Ds was considered to be changed,

The ds / unbreak combo is still the strongest survivor, combined with Dh and Bt, makes the gameplay alot more stressful to know that the killer Now has to try and bait a hit but can't if the survivor is using it to either A make it to the pallet or B Make it to the Window, Making it a hard loss either way,

Boons....Mainly CoH.. i dunno if i should even explain this bs perk,

Hit validation.. HOPEFULLY it's fixed completely...ish, but this has also been in said favor of survivors if they did it right against the killers that got forced into cd after hit,

Perks: So far killer perks.. alot of them has either been nerfed or reworked in some way. some good, some bad.. and plain bad in general.. So far More killer perks have been touched and. For a fair bit Yes, were Good reworks. But the others don't even come close to how it should be.. (Still kinda mad they nerfed Hoarder despite the fact it was never a good perk to begin with)

Whereas Survivor perks. has alot more goin' for them than ever, Lucky break got a good buff. was overbuffed in said ptb but fixed... still does wonders, Iron will Still hasn't been changed and is in need of said Nerf.. Dh also is in need of Nerf. But hasn't been touched along with the others per say,

How fast something gets Nerfed: Lemme break it down.. Killers have had stuff that was good for them nerfed or reworked / removed, let's take a perk for example like.. Maybe Old MoM, Perk was Busted beyond any other perk and it was the Best, if not the 100% Most Overpowered Perk that ever got leaked and Released in it's current State, Keep in mind you couldn't cheese any hits with MoM for killer, since it was always a basic attack. took 3 months to finally nerf it, Now let's take Remember me: A perk that used to make gates take alot longer to open than what it currently does right now, a full 50 seconds to a minute worth of opening a exit gate if the obsession was dead was Huge, Now it got nerfed to 34 seconds... Overshadowed by alot better perks in it's place and it's only use is to have a endgame build.. that's it.. MoM has seen more action than Remember me has, and that's sayin' something,

Still alot more stuff to prove that the game is survivor sided..

  • ...But the logic is backwards.

The game is still Purely Survivor sided. The survivors Otz had made Many mistakes.. didn't path correctly and such.

He also did tunnel and camp to get said kills at points during the games...

..so don't try to say the game is Killer sided when there is Alot more proof that the game is Still (and will be) Survivor Sided

  • To me.. literally the addons are about 90% Bad and 10% Good..

There isn't a between, Tbh... Flask of bleach didn't need a nerf.. lol

  • i'll... proabably test it, might not be even worth it..

  • Should i take great offense if im a streamer and i also like to watch fellow other streamers...? Orrr...

Then chainsaw then after they go away from the hook, if you're that desperate to camp. Or grab them off the hook...or chainsaw them before they get to the hook. You shouldn't be able to just get two free instadowns with no counterplay just by existing nearby, it's stupid.

    Grabs working?

You nuts to think if those still work,

And plus technically..billy can still get those insta-downs, but nobody complains about that.. lol

Im sorry but, i'd rather punish Altruistic survivors than to nerf one Singular killer that's already Mid-tier,

There are lots of people out there with all p3 50 all perk characters, and the person with the most amount of bloodpoints accumulated according to https://dbd.onteh.net.au is 1.7B.

I myself have about a quarter of the Survivors with all perks P3 50 and all my killers P3 50 with all perks and have accumulated 533M BP.

So yeah you aren't far off

i remember when i had p3 level 50 on everyone... and of course i got the hammer (cough cough)

it was round 1.7b or 2b Bp.. lol

    Hey there!

I'd like to address and form a discussion regarding Cenobite and two perks - Hoarder and Franklin's Demise

Hoarder is a very underrated perk and can lead to better map pressure and punishing people for not doing primary objective - generators, while Franklin's Demise can punish people for searching chests (Hoarder gives two additional chests) and usage of items.

These two perks combined lead to very powerful combination, regardless of which killer you play and is really annoying to go against, but what can be more annoying than having a killer, whose power can be amplified by using these two perks?

Imagine that you're a peaceful Claudette, enjoying your game of Dead by Daylight, and you queue up against a Cenobite with this combination and addons - Larry's Remains and Liquified Gore (you can substitute this with something much more powerful, such as Engineer's Fang). What does this mean? Picking up a box will lead to one thing - you will go through a remarkably hard serie of extreme scenarios. First of all, when you pick up the box, you are Oblivious which means you cannot hear the killer's TR. Second of all, he can see that you picked up the box and go on you even before you start searching it. Third of all, if you go to chase or he interrupts you with chains, you will drop the box via usage of Franklin's Demise. Lastly, you will be slowdowned by his two addons.

While you may say "Well, with the recent patch on Cenobite, he deserves some powerful combination". While yes, that's true, but this is something very unfun and unhealthy for this game and should be addressed.

How can BHVR fix this? - Very easily, making Hoarder to not work on the box. This would basically fix this madness and craziness. I played in very high MMR with these combinations and I must really tell you, it has not been hard to beat even a coordinated SWF. In chat, even phrase such as "They should fix this killer" appeared and I for sure agree, that this combination should be looked at. While this combination of perks and addons is rare, it's for sure not something pleasurable to go against.

Thanks for reading, I will be glad if you submit your ideas or opinions! I eagerly look forward to some of your responses!

....Nerfing already iffy perks cause of One killer?

    That's something new...

  • I mean... alot of people have different meaning of fun for dbd,

For me it's tryna get 12 hooks, but i find it extremely unfun if they just wanna rush the gens as fast as they can...

not my cup persay.. just flat out boring,

  • @Predated said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2712817#Comment_2712817

The difference is that in those basements, Bubba himself is the issue. At least the argument there can be made that survivors can finish all gens before Bubba gets 1 kill.

And Thompson house has 3 exits, 2 with a nearby pallet right next to the basement. Heck, there is a reachable window that buys you quite a lot of time that's always a fast vault window. Eyrie does not have any exit nearby and the nearest thing is a med-vault window. The nearest pallet is out of reach.

So no, you're objectively wrong, and I can prove it if necessary.

None of those maps allow Bubba to patrol gens nearby while still having enough time to return to the basement to down 2 people. Eyrie gives Bubba 4 gens that he can patrol and still get back quick enough to down 2 people.

Thompson house can force a three gen....

One in the slight mid of cornfields, One on top of the house and one on the side of the house..

Even by the time they come back up, bubba can still be there and get a double down easily enough..

  • @Predated said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2710686#Comment_2710686

Yeah, it wouldnt. You can run in with 2 people against Hag, you can bodyblock with BT against Billy and Mikey. You can hooktrade with any other camping killers. You cannot rescue someone from the basement when Bubba is within walking distance. That's a problem. He's literally the odd one out here. Back in the day, it was fine since he had bad mobility and quite a weak ability. Now it's a bit problematic.

So getting a basement should mean main needs to be stronger.. AS IF,

There're Many maps that don't have alot of control when it's basement, I.E Azarov's Resting Place, Both basements are a screw you to survivor if bubba gets one down there, Not complaining bout that,

Oh Thompson House... Main doesn't really have anything to let you escape, in-fact it's tight / close quarters...Still great for bubba,

There are Many more maps that has a WORSER basement trap than The new map... literally,

While I understand people saying that The Artist is unfair and at times unfun to play against, she is not overpowered, though she’s a bit close to it.

The Artist has a few annoying mechanics that at times can create binary decisions for survivors, or put survivors in lose/lose situations. Putting a crow at certain loops can make it completely useless, forcing those survivors to run away. If the loop is small enough, the survivor won’t have enough distance, and they’ll be hit anyways.

Her hook defense is equally as annoying and oppressive as Hag’s as well, allowing her to either keep survivors off of it for a while, or force them to reveal themselves early by running through the crows, otherwise, both the unhooker and unhookie will be hit by the crow.

Cross-mapping survivors with crows can also feel frustrating at times, though much of this is due to the seemingly large hitbox the crows have. Sometimes it feels like there isn’t ample time to move out of the way of those crows because they cover such a wide area. It feels like The Artist is just getting free hits if she has another crow.

Here are some of my suggestions to scale back on some of these frustrating mechanics to make her a bit more healthy, while retaining as much of her strength as possible.

    • crows within 20 meters of a hooked survivor immediately dissipate when the survivor is unhooked (this includes crows that are moving)
    • reduce the width of the active crow hitbox by 30%, forcing The Artist to be more accurate with her shots
    • Increase the duration of the movement speed penalty after The Artist places a crow by 1 second.

yeah i can tell i’m going to be yelled at

So you just want her to be Straight bottom B tier?

She don't need a single nerf, if anything... a buff or some QoL that's it..

Lest you just want only 3 killers at S tier and everyone else F tier...

Leatherface's ability to camp is OP. "Uncounterable" if I may, at least for the survivor on hook and their rescuers.

Because his chainsaw goes through multiple survivors, instead of stopping after downing 1 like Hillbilly, he can guarantee a kill on someone as soon as they get hooked. You can punish the killer by having the remaining 3 survivors finish the gens and get out, but it just doesn't sit right with me. If it was any other killer, there would always be a chance for hook bombing into BT, DS, and Dead Hard. But because it's Leatherface, none of that matters. The only semi-counter to him camping for the survivor on hook is having Deliverance/DS. That allows you to get off the hook without someone needing to unhook you in the face of the camper. But if he wants throw the game to slug/tunnel you out even with that perk combo, he will because that was his plan anyway.

There are several other killers that come close to Leatherface-like camping capabilities, but I usually don't complain about those because they're limited or take preparation.

Trickster with Main Event can pretty much guarantee a hook trade. However, that ability for some reason is put on a timer. If you don't use it, you lose it. So it's not consistent for camping, although his regular knives are often good enough for camping. But it's not uncounterable, because there could be a hook bomb where everyone takes the perfect amount of knives for each other, throw in BT, DS, Dead Hard and they're out.

Oni can hold onto his power and activate it when people come to unhook. However, he has to activate it early if he wants to guarantee the hook trade, because I kid you not, his powering up animation is so long that survivors can unhook in front of you and start running before it's even over. If you do preemptively activate it though, you might run out of it before the survivor is dead, and in that short fatigue animation survivors can just unhook in front of you, and you lose it all.

This is why Myers's camping capabilities are probably the closest to Leatherface's. Assuming he's 99'd his Tier 3, he can instantly tap it and down the rescuer, or deter people from rescuing. Activating Tier 3 preemptively is not necessary with Myers, because there's no lengthy start-up animation. Assuming you wait out his Tier 3 and try to hook bomb again, he can get another Tier 3 back in like 6 seconds apparently. Because his meter doesn't go all the way down to the start after losing Tier 3, and instead goes back to 1/4 or 1/2 filled towards Tier 3, he can practically guarantee another Tier 3 as soon as you come to unhook someone, even if he just came out of Tier 3. You could theoretically send someone or multiple people in who have been fully stalked, but who really knows how much they've been stalked? (My justification for calling infinite Tier 3/Tombstone uncounterable and unforseeable.)

Hillbilly has a chainsaw, so he can hook trade on the survivors, but it's nowhere near as powerful as Leathface because he can't go through multiple people with his chainsaw. His chainsaw is also slow to start up and clunky, and he could miss unlike Leathface's chainsaw which is basically impossible to miss with, so even he isn't guaranteed the hook trade, especially with hook bomb/BT/Dead Hard shenanigans. I find that his overheat is more punishing than Leatherface's when holding his ability, so it's not you can pre-rev forever.

Leathface's power is just boring to me, even moreso than Nurse. It really shows with his camping. Any other killer has to have precise aim and hit survivors twice and respect pallets. But him? No. You just rev the chainsaw and either get a down(s) from the huge attack hitbox in front of you, or you break a pallet instantly. Playing him normally won't even get you that many kills, because you can still be gen rushed and survivors can just drop pallets instantly. But if you down someone once, camp 1 to death, and then maybe get another kill with NOED if there's still survivors around, and that's a 2k, which is probably more success than if you were to play him normal.

I don't like stuff that has no counterplay. God pallets, god windows, gen speed, rollback, Nurse, Flashbang against Wraith, etc. But Leatherface's camping is at the top of the list for many people.

    Nurse has No Counterplay...?

DH for distance is obnoxious but there's only 1 example of that here. The others were misplays on your part, especially the 2nd when you knew for a fact he had DH.

Even if you wait the Dh, you can't really do much if they're using it in a loop with a pallet or using it towards a window, that's still time lost ina chase

As much as it pains me to admit, I'm finally done. Not with the game, just with Killer. It's gotten to be too stressful for the meager payout.

I'm afraid that I can't keep throwing myself at Killer anymore. I feel that I've reached my peak on the Killers I care about, but more importantly, the game has ceased to be fun. In all honesty, Killer hasn't been fun for a long time. There are serious balance and design issues that need to be addressed.

There is currently zero incentive to play Killer, besides better Bloodpoint gains. It's all stress and no reward. Even if you win, you don't really feel like you've won.

Everything about it is so frustrating. I hate having to micro-manage FOUR other players and try to keep them from steamrolling me. I don't want easy games, I want fun games. A fun game is a game where the stress of the gameplay is equal to the reward you get from winning. Think of it like a Dark Souls boss. You might hate the fight, die 30 times, but when you finally win it IS worth it. Killer isn't.

It's not even that the unfun stressful ######### is locked to Killer-only. I'm not one for tribalism.

I guess I'm just sad that I can't play my favorite game anymore. I've watched countless other people fall in and out of love with this game. I never thought it would be me next.

Ultimately, at the end of the day, I'm ranting and venting because I'm sad that this game isn't fun anymore and scared because I know this style of development isn't sustainable. You can't rely on a constant stream of new players. You can't constantly pander to new players but ignore promises you made to your community years ago.

I hope something changes. But I know it won't. I'll stick to Survivor, we'll see how long that lasts, maybe long enough that Killer can get some QoL to make it less stressful.

There have been lots of complaints re the hit validation on Dead Hard for sure, but that's more with the validation issue rather than the perk iyswim. It's why when collating feedback it's important to look at all aspects. Before Hit Validation was put on Dead Hard the main complaint about the perk was the dead harding for distance, now the main complaint is the validation itself - which are two separate things.

I think it has to due to the fact that Dead Hard can also consume a Hit, I.E making you go into a Animation lock for like 12 ish killers, It's mainly due to that.. (Even i complain about hits like those.. since it gives survivors free distance if i hit them, then they Dh the hit.. but it registers it and i'm forced into fatigue as if it was a successful hit)

I have probably 3-4k hours in the game (I'm on PlayStation and don't actually know how to find out the exact number), and only like...maybe 10 of them are as a killer.

So, I'm doing an experiment. Play killer for 500 or so games, and write some stuff down, and maybe learn a thing or two about it. "This is the worst time to play killer," I hear you say. "Good luck," you sarcastically yell. Yeah that's kind of the point I'm going for.

What kinds of things should I track? Number or hooks, and kills I think. Maybe the length of the game, the perks I used, the survivors I went against, and their perks. Maybe the BP everyone got. IDK. What do you think?

Also what killer/killers should I play? Should I only do 1 killer? I chose 500 games cuz I'm going to be an absolute noob at first, and I need a decent amount so that doesn't throw off the results. What killer do you definitely think will be the hardest?

IDK just curious on the thoughts.

If i were you... Track these in Order:

Perks that were used alot compared to not used / seen alot (Looking at Dead hard.. gunna be the #1 thing on this list for you)

How many Hooks / Kills you get (I'd say count dcs too.)

and to track what killers you're using, (personally this would be a long list, but like you said, it's a Experiment, so i'd love to see which killer was the roughest to win with imho..)

Edit: And if you want to do one killer... Play Pinball Boi, (that's blight if you don't know the nicknames this boi has..)

Or be like me and play em all, (and to also say ######### you to your sanity, for trying to keep track of EVERY single killer playstyle there is =D)

Also a Edit: This is mainly for the mods that look at this post. i only said Screw you to Your sanity... not in a insulting way, but as a means of Keeping track of every single killer playstyle (which is 25) pls no ban

I honestly can't believe people are getting mad about this perk.

Post after post after post of killers talking about the perk, upset that they don't make it to some hooks, complaining that they can't get to their scourge hooks after leaving them on the ground for too long. I keep getting postgame messages about it, complaining that they aren't allowed to slug or that they can't see it coming. So because of that, I guess it's a big issue now?

But I guess since slugging's a bit risky now, everyone's all up in arms about Flip-Flop. I really just don't get it. And I definitely didn't invent this drama wholesale out of boredom.

Especially when we have OP perks we should absolutely complain about, like Lightborn.

This is a new complaint.. never seen the flip-flop / lightborn drama...

But as always, i tip my Hat to the New Complaints for perks =D *Tips Hat*

But as already mentioned PS4 doesn't have free weekends tho

Even if they did... would they still want to play as a new player?

    Obviously i wouldn't still, but..

Right. But on PS4 there are no free weekends. It is a pity you don´t have actual numbers behind these trophys.

But i thought the playerbase on PS4 is pretty big. Therefore these numbers seem very low.

Another one - get a character to level 25 - 29.4% have this - ONE char to level 25..

95% of the free weekend players only play for like maybe a solid 2 ish or so hours,

...They don't stay here.. this game is 100% not new user friendly..

you do realize ds and bt are absolutely useless if you always go for anyone but the unhooked person, right? get over it.

Against a normal m1 killer? Pfh, you ain't thinking about the other killers in this game, lmao.

This game is survivor sided as it stands, survivors can always spawn on your totems, make bad plays and still be saved by ds because it's 1 minute..

Did you also forget to take into account survivors can bodyblock eachother and save the person from getting down? No? Didn't think so...

Then break the walls. Not that hard.

And that's not a solution either. A survivor being hooked once should never mean they are dead. With Bubba, this is still the case.

That's the same way with hag.. Billy.. Mikey. GF. Nurse, twins. and a few others...

Don't just Base it off of Bubba alone, think about the other killers and how it would affect them aswel,

I have played this map a bit, there are issues here and there that I would like to see different as many other players. But if there is one thing that I have noted, is how extremely powerful the basement in the main building is.

Like, even The Game recieved 2 pallets to compensate with the strength of it's basement. Even Midwich has at least 1 pallet right above the staircase, and once the pallets are used, those basements are effectively a free kill or consistent hookswaps for the killer. Then came RPD with an even stronger basement(longer stairwell, pallet being further away).

But Eyrie of Crows? Nothing. No pallets nearby enough to use, and the only window nearby isnt even a window you can fast vault. Even if you run upstairs, which is where the nearest pallet is, even T1 Myers can catch up before a survivor can reach that. Let alone what Bubba can do.

The existance of current Bubba and Eyrie of Crows' basement should never have been a thing.

that building is an infinite if the walls isn't broken...

You should never really go down in the basement if you know its a bubba...

Very committed and long time Bligh main here, and I have to say, as much as I love doing it, Blight flicking is not fair for a couple reasonable. First of all, it makes most of the tiles unplayable for survivors, especially when running Blighted Crow.

Secondly, it put PC players "richer" (I don't mean rich people, just players who can afford to spend a lottle bit more than others) people at an advantage, let me explain: The first thing I mentioned is pretty easy, controllers can't do that, so if you're a console player you can't do that. The second reason is that in order to Blight flick (as far as I know) you need some specific features on your mouse, such as a sensitivity clutch and of course, only more expensive mice have that (since you also need a decent mouse software too). I'm currently using a Basilisk v2 with a button that higher my DPI only when and while it's pressed from 600 to 1200. I know that you could apply the same logic to PC components, that the better your computer is, the more frames you have, the better you can perform, but let's just not extend this privileges more :).

js. the dpi stuff don't really work for blight anymore,

I noticed something when I was playing killer for the past days on this map. Where the hell are all hooks?! Why there are so few of them suddenly? I am not kidding, I had situation where on the top floor, like half of the floor didn't have a hook. Or sometimes in the first floor there is like one hook in the middle and then one half of the lower floor of the map has no hooks at all?! I allready lost a Survivor because of it (and I had Agitation perk lol). And no, not because I killed someone on the hook there. And no, not because of Survivors offerings.

I never had this issue before. It feels like it was suddenly changed without notice.

    That's me as killer...

But oh nooo... the killer i Verse has a billion goddamn hooks right NEXT TO EACHOTHER
