I mean leaving 2 hooked survivors without proximity camping would be ridiculous.

There is no reason to leave.

It was only one survivor I hooked in the basement and i caught two other survivors at the killer shack when I was gonna go look for them. So there really wasn't a reason for me to leave the basement area to chase them since they came my way.

And in game "toxicity" well I just deal with it I don't go around saying git gud etc not that person

I agree with you. The toxicity is more in the aftermath of a trial. Many survivors deem it necessary to undermine another person because they didn't get a kill or the killer got a 4k. A lot of people having been on the receiving end, but what I noticed when I've been targeted for toxicity after a trial is going directly for their reason.

Ask why they're even messaging over a game, taunting and etc.. and they immediately go silent on the other end. I've ended such discussions with logic and slapping people with kindness. That's what bothers toxic people the most, no anger responses and toxicity back, but treating their childish antics with kindness and throwing their reasons right back at them.

When I first started playing the game I was definitely a survivor main. I did play some killer but I found it really frustrating because I was consistently getting toxic players. Nothing really pushed me to play killer other than just wanting to improve both my killer skill and in turn it improved my survivor skill. I'm definitely a better killer than survivor now, but I would say I'm a decent survivor at least.

I hear you. I've gotten a lot of toxic survivors too. No likes being a team player and when the toxic survivor gets bested, they get real salty.

Personally, I don't care about getting any kills in a match. I play killer to see how it looks from their perspective and I can honestly say both sides can be extremely toxic and entitled.

I had a match where I hooked a survivor as The Legion in the basement and literally had one of the survivors, a Claudette, talk trash about me camping the hooked survivor. It was honesty their teammates fault since they immediately came to the basement when I only just hooked a Jill down there and saw them both there. So I didnt really see the point I'm leaving when I have to potential hooks there at the same time.

I hate the stereotype that if I bring Urban Evasion it is assumed that I do nothing but hide all match. Yes I try to be sneaky but I do gens, rescue people, cleanse bones, lead the killer on a chase if he finds me. I bring UE+SB so if I hear a heartbeat I can try to hide first. If I'm found I can SB away to the nearest jungle gym to begin a chase.

I understand you completely. I got bashed by a ttv user in a match once for having urban evasion.

The Killer was Legion and they were proxy camping really hard. The ttv survivor literally went for the save and got both himself and the other person downed. After saving them, he bodyblocked the doorway and I got downed. He got downed after that and dc.

  • A lot of tactics survivors use to protect each other seems obnoxious, but what else can they really do. Some of the tactics don't work when I do them during my survivor rounds and I wonder how it works when they don't it but not when I do. Dumb luck?

I'm one of the people who don't camp as Killers, it'd an easy strategy but one I don't really enjoy seeing or even doing. A lot of times I camp on accident because I have every survivor coming at me for one person. They kind of make the hooked person immediately die since none of them are brave enough to take a hit and then grab even though there's one other person or two there with full health.

I had a match last night where I was headon by a Leon than he tried to flashbang, he obviously failed to realize that it wasn't working since I run lightborn (run it because I constantly have a lot of matches with people with flashlights) and in the suffocation put I think it was, he kept entering and leaving a locker in a rush. My grab animation from a locker couldn't initiate because of how fast he was doing it, eventually I hit him and he even tried to be to be spared after that.

I mori'd him and it was very satisfying. I don't really use moris, only if it's a challenge or ritual, but using it twice in one trial didn't give me a bit of peace after that.

I mean... I'm having fun and have for a while.

What helps a ton is finding a Killer and Perk load out that really clicks with you. That said, if you aren't having fun, no shame in leaving behind a game you don't find fun anymore.

Finally, someone who is speaking my language. That's the point I've been trying to make on several occasions.

The outcome of a match doesn't depend on the perks either the killer's or survivors bring, it contributes to it, the outcome of a trial depends on the competency of both sides.

A Killer isn't bad or good because of certain perks, the same goes for survivors. A killer and survivor are as good as the gamer behind him them.

Not related to body blocking but I did experience a troll moment. I had a Nancy and Steve troll me while I was on the hook, they kept faking the unhook until I hit struggle phase. Killer witnessed it and came by and they both started running off. The Nancy got tunnelled to death, the killer wanted me to look for the Steve and so I found him and then pointed at him and then he got hooked, gave him the same treatment, did the fake unhook thingy and then he DC'd. When those toxics died, the killer made me do a lot for points and then decided to let the random soloist guy and I go.

That reminds me of a trial I had. I was playing as Myers and had hooked a Dwight. The poor guy died first hook, he didn't try to unhook himself either; sat on the hook and waited, no one ever saved him.

With that I decided that no one was leaving, Dwight had the misfortune and walking straight into me and me being a non-camping killer left him to be saved and it never happened.

  • Dude, this is amazing!! I've never seen a comic of DBD this great. The artwork is absolutely beautiful and I love the authenticity of the Doctor and Trapper, spot on and captures their personality.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/270487/does-anyone-else-keep-getting-sold-out-in-solo-queue

You say you didn't sit in a locker for an unreasonable long time, but you do know BBQ only lasts for 4 secs. So for the match against Myers, are you saying another teammate drops a pallet, vaults back and forth a few times, then tries to go in your locker, and proceeds to do so over and over until the killer arrives, all within a span of 4 secs???

After the 4 secs are up, GTFO of the locker.

2nd example is basically a killer keeping 2 survivors occupied. He's chasing one survivor, while you are hiding in the locker. What should you do instead? again GTFO the locker and either the killer will continue to chase your teammate or will now chase you, but at least he won't keep 2 survivors occupied.

BBQ lasts up to 8 seconds if it's tier 3, tier 2 is 6 secs I believe and tier one is 4 secs.

  • You're not the only one whose being experiencing this. One match I had was against 3 red ranks and a purple rank. Took one red rank down.

Red ranks are the most toxic people in dbd. They're very cocky and a lot of people took the crouch aspect of the survivors for tbagging.

  • I thought I was the only one experiencing this. I've had that happen so many times to me the other night while playing as Myers (I admit I'm rather rusty with him after not using). I'd have a survivor within hitting range than poof already a farther distance away or near a pallet already.

  • A Killer that slugs and camps is completely boring. Every time that happens it's just okay this match will be fast. It's like when I've had almost every killer use a one-shot and just either sit at the hook or go after another for downing. It shorter terms, a killer that just wants a fast match by using an OP one with a one-shot.

  • Honestly, all that toxicity of survivors ratting each other out is one of the reasons I don't Solo Queue anymore. I got left on first hook to die, sandbagged by a survivor and decided to DC after a survivor helped a Ghostface kill another survivor by farming them.

I had a group of survivors leave another survivor to die first hook. I didn't camp and felt very bad for that person because they never got saved. I punished the survivors from both matches for leaving a teammate to die. The recent one happened with two megs and another one dcing so there were only 3 survivors. I hooked a Feng min and felt so bad that she never got saved, she got sacrificed when I walked by from kicking a gen at the circus of asylum.

  • That happened to me today. I waited for the Killer to fully pick up the survivor and then threw down the pallet and the Killer (Trickster) didn't drop the survivor.

I was confused if I did it too early, but no the Trickster was standing fully up with the survivor.

  • @celesteismore said:

Ok but I got a penalty when it said the killer and another survivor DC.

Yo, that's just wrong. I'm sorry.

  • @Red_Beard said:

Myself and I have seen a person post a video have also had a killer hit through a down pallet. It was just the one time for me. I think there are some tweaks that need to be made but it does seem better in my opinion.

I've had that happen to me before. The Killer was The Legion, I threw the pallet before the killer swung. The killer got stunned and somehow the hit still registered.

  • I honestly wasn't aware of the penalty being back up until today. I found out when I was disconnected from the host while hooking the last survivor. I didn't get that 4k counted and I got penalized for the survivor disconnecting while being hooked. That DC penalty dampened by mood, especially when that DC from the host basically froze the game for me and crashed the match, leaving the last survivor as alive on my end screen.

  • @Zokenay said:

Wasnt the change made so its impossible to have the stun and the hit at the same time or something like that? meaning that if you got stunned you dont get the hit, and viceversa

If anything the "illusion" of the downed survivor is likely just latency

Idk havent payed much attention to this change

From what I've experienced, hits through pallets still happen. Well it happens to me a lot still and sometimes when I play Killer.

I don't afk anymore. I used to to derank but more survivors around my skill level get to red ranks. It used to be I could never beat any red rank hence the afk. No matter the map now I will try my best even if my best is not good enough.

I prefer haddonfield to midwich. Oh, how I do so hate midwich as both killer and survivor.

Midwich is one of my least favorite maps also. Finding gens is a bit difficult and I literally couldn't find anyone playing as killer, I use Michael Myers for the scares, and got a toxic treatment for being a new killer. A lot of maps are decent, its all a matter of chance when it comes to map selections and spawns.

  • @latinfla4 said:

In all fairness, I get many survivors dcing after the first knockdown🤣

Lol. That happened to me when I first played killer using Michael Myers. It made me laugh so hard because its like "really? You still have time to survive the rest of the trial".

  • Not sure if its wholesome, but I remember a match I had against Michael Myers. I was doing a gen on the Macmillan estate, I think, and it was in a corner with a small window vault. I was working on the generator and I suddenly see this long, pale leg coming through the window and I'm "#########" and then I see Michael Myers' mask and I scream. I ran off and just laughed at the whole situation after.

Another, again a match with Myers, on The Game Map. My friends and I were doing a gen on the ground floor. After finishing it, all 3 up the stairs and I stay downstairs to find gens; I turn the corner and walk smack dab in Myers chest! I screamed so loud that you could've probably placed it in a horror movie and my grandmother came to check if I was okay.

It was so funny because it was the classic girl walking into killer scene from movies.

you are working with survivors, thats against the rules.

There's a fine line between working with survivors to make the gaming experience more fun and fair for others and a survivor working with a killer to kill the other survivors.

A survivor working with the killer, leading the killer to each survivors location and taking the game hostage in that way is what's bannable. Plus, many people have had this experience and nothing has been done about it.

A killer working with all survivors in a fair, free for all bp gain isn't bannable. I for one enjoy a time where I don't have to deal with killers who are trolls and am able to take a breather from rough trials.

I am bubba camper main and I feel offended, also how you dare to call me "unnecessary"..

On a serious note, I think bubba is fine currently, but if you see a leatherface camping, just go making generators, I don't think you can do much. If you are unlucky enough to be camped there is not much you can do, just wait for your teammates to finish the remaining gens.

Again 3 tokens in my opinion is too much. 2 would've been fine. I stated "3 tokens" is unnecessary. It's an opinion which people obviously want to twist it to benefit their own views on a matter. I've said my piece and I'm sticking to it.

Almost all of my teammates for the last week have been rank 1 or close to it but holy ######### they are awful at the game. These people belong easily in rank 14 so why are they so high on the ranking system? And as Killer I've been going up against these same types of people, its crazy how bad they are yet so high on the ranking system.

Has anyone else been experiencing this issue?

I'm getting very off matches also. This is my perspective on red ranks that are terrible, they may be the kinds of survivors that piggy-back off others hardwork in completing objectives and looping the killer. It could also be they're at the rank they are because they team up with the killer for an easy victory. I've had a lot of matches were I see red ranks (even though ranks are meaningless now) are the first to get hooked or outright ignore being a team player.

Like so many times today in a chase i’ve ran and my character kept teleporting back and forth and made me lose distance from the killer.

And when ever someone gets hit, hooked or a gen is completed you better believe there’s a lag for at least 2 seconds. That also turns my camera around so i’m now heading away from my safe area.

These problems literally only happened today.

Servers have become a problem. On a lot of my matches, I've been getting teleported backwards and getting hit a impossible distances. That's been happening for several days.

Well I’d love to see your Bubba gameplay against GOOD SURVIVORS. If he’s so OP like apparently every other killer with a reliable power, then prove it.

I don't have to prove anything to anyone who is being toxic about an opinion. I have every right to express my views from both points of view. If you don't like my opinion, then don't comment on a discussion. From what I can tell, you give me the impression of a person that complained about not getting easy kills using a one-shot killer.

  • I understand completely. I've had issues with framerates too. My framerates were very bad in a match that my console didn't register a pallet drop.

Again. I've played as Bubba, he wasn't bad at all if you know how to use him. I don't know why people blow a fuse when I recommend a small suggestion to even the playing field for everyone.

3 tokens weren't needed. I even feel too overpowered when using him.

    LMFAO

Found the person who's never played Bubba

Yes "unnecessary". I've used him before and there was nothing wrong with him. If you're going to be rude than take your comments elsewhere. Don't assume things.

  • I agree. My highest penalty was almost 20 minutes and it was because my game crashed also.

  • I understand you completely. I've had a rough time on this game also and miss the good times when I played with others who weren't toxic and Team killing. All of nerfs have happened for both, but I think some survivor perks have gotten to worse nerfs.

Red rank killers can be both toxic and not. I've had killers at red ranks mop the floor with survivors and still run no-ed, which I think is odd because why would you need that perk if you're good with the killer.

As for nerfs, I think borrowed time and d strike have gotten very bad nerfs. Borrowed time used to be a good perk that let survivors work together to keep each other going, activity when within rang of the killers terror radius: I think it activated only on injured survivors. Now it only works when u hooking a survivor while in the terror radius.

D strike, remained active even while healing or fixing a gen. Now deactivates when you self heal or do a gen which I think is ridiculous. The nerf also on empathy was unnecessary in my opinion.

I don't usually play killer because I'm adapted as a survivor, but I can agree that the level of toxicity has reached great peaks.

I had a match against the Doctor and had an Ash troll everyone in the trial. After it was a bullied and attempted force farming. I don't usually DC from trials, but I had enough of the bullying especially when he tunneled the other survivors when the closest person was the Ash survivor.

I played a game where we faced myers, he hung up my team and it was me who rescued them, at 3, I rescued one of them while myers stayed in the zone, with borrowed time and my partner had adrenaline but myers was in the level 3 and I fell down and they waited for the level to drop to save me but they actually abandoned me and still didn't open the doors. they waited for me to die and left...

I had a match against a Myers. I got downed and my teammates abandoned me and left through the hatch. I got picked and didn't bother struggling since there was a hook right there, but the person playing Myers dropped me at the hatch. The person even apologized because he felt bad for tunneling me even though he really wasn't tunneling me, I just happened to step in his line of sight. I do feel good that there's still people who are considerate.

Why would a Bubba NOT use his chainsaw? It's his (only) power.

He has a mallet also, but I believe he means that people deliberately use the chainsaw constantly for a quick match. More than ever with the 3 charges they gave him.

Please Guys, we all hate insidious Camping tunneling Noed using Killers. I get it. But what Killer specifically do you not like to play against, their behaviour aside here. Maybe it's their Power or Sounds that make them annoying. Every Killer can Camp and Tunnel no need to talk about that, rather give me actual answer to the question instead of saying "none but campers" i knew that already

Personally, I don't like going against the Clown.

  • @Moundshroud said:

Heh; this thread is funny. So many threads and so much salt. I get accused of tunneling and camping even when I give every Survivor three hooks and never take the same person in a row. Let's just say I have little faith in the "perception" Survivors have (I also play Survivor). It always feels like you are being camped or tunneled unfairly. It doesn't mean you are in fact.

For my own part, I just take the next person who pops in front of me. It isn't by design or intent. It isn't personal.

You have a good perception. I accidentally tunneled someone on the Hawkins map and I felt bad. I try not to got after the same person, but that map was dark in some places that I lose the person I'm chasing and end up finding someone I've already hooked. I do apologize for the action since it wasn't my intention, I only try to chase people that I happen to come across. If I've already hooked them twice, I play fair and give them another chance. But that was when I played killer the first time, I don't play killer really. I play mostly survivor with Jake as my main.

I understand you completely. I also get nervous and stressed about playing as Killer. In my opinion, its a bit more difficult playing as killer than survivor since you have a small visual perspective of the area and its hard to turn sometimes. I'm hoping the rumored single player mode will help us understand and train ourselves to be killers, its good practice even though the survivors will be bots and probably make potato mistakes.

  • @posterum said:

    Legion and Ghostface, by far.

Especially given that the players who play them are toxic, camper/tunnellers who make everyone want to quit the game.

I've only DC about four times on DBD, but it was because of toxic killers and survivors. Had a toxic Trapper literally just wanting to waste my time until end game kills me, so i dc because I wanted to go into another round.

The first time I DC was because I had all my teammates literally suicide on hooks, one survivor dropped a pallet in my face while I was being chased. After the triple hook suicide, I tried to open the gate but the Legion quickly found me even though he was far away from my area and the gate. I assumed his friends were the survivors and he beelined my way; the Legion downed me and just kept slashing the air over my head, being utterly toxic and rubbing it in my face that I got abandoned by my teammates.

Another time was when a Ghostface and the other two survivors (my friend and I were playing and he got sacrificed) kept t-bagging me. I would get healed, get downed and t-bagged by all three. I tried to get distance but the survivors would body block and I get downed again, so I DC. After i went back to spectate, I see all three of them t-bagging my body.

The doctor was the final DC for a long time. Saved fellow survivors from hooks and tried to do gens, all of a sudden I find all three other survivors and the Doctor block my way. I tried to snap my character out of the madness, I get downed and then t-bagged repeatedly by a Jake I saved. After they powered the last gen and Adrenaline kicked in, I ran for it. I stopped after a while and hid. The Doctor and randoms ran by, I went to the closest door and opened it. All three survivors left through the hatch and I went out the door.

  • @BabyCameron10 said:

Just out of curiosity, since survivor queue times are long like before, What prevents you from playing killer?

For me it would have to be that at least 2 gens pop, usually around the first chase and I always seem to go against “good survivors.” It’s funny to me because when I play survivor (Solo) I always get the potatoes.

Also, this might sound weird but, How come most killers don’t feel threatening/scary? I always felt that the killer should have the upper hand. I really do think they need to give killers something to slow down the game by basekit. Maybe, after hooking every survivor once, all gens cannot be worked on for a certain amount of time, idk, something like that or give survivors an extra objective.

They should also look into the exit gates. I usually accept my loss after the 5th Gen gets done, I try my best to not play scummy but if I haven’t gotten a kill by the last gen, you bet your sweet ass I am going to camp the next person I hook. I noticed for you to at least to decently well as killer, you have to play sorta scummy. Slugging is a big one that killers have to do to slow the game down, this is another reason why I don’t usually play killer, what is yours?

I don't have the best perks. I've only played killer twice in my time on DBD. I got lucky getting a 4k an hour into my first time playing killer, but it was thanks to my friend for helping understand the movement and predict perfect times to attack when in a pallet loop.

Last time, I played killer I had a SWF team twice. One person playing as Jake was literally running around in circles on me, like literally he was circling my body closely and not even leaving. I didn't know such toxicity until that guy, plus it also didn't help that my perks weren't working. It's odd, when I play as survivor gens are slow progress but as killer I notice gens going off fast. Sabotage as Jake when I'm survivor also seems to take longer. I don't know if its my internet network or the servers.

I'm more adapted to playing survivor and just try to familiarize myself with the area so I know where to go to when I have the killer chasing me.

The next time i played killer, it was against a possible SWF and a survivor that is a massive face camping leatherface. Someone just stood in the front of my screen and i kept losing the survivors because of it. So I don't play killer because of those reasons and also I don't like dealing with toxic survivors also, I don't stick around waiting to taunt the killer at the end either.

Yes, you survived so leave. I think this community would be better for everyone if people had self-respect and integrity as gamers.

  • @carnage4u said:

I find any killer that crutches on NOED to be both annoying and somewhat pathetic for not trusting their own skill. I don't mind any specific killer that annoying.

I agree with you, Carnage. I've had so many people use no ed. Honestly, I consider No Ed a crutch perk for Killlers who are only just starting out. NO ED serves as a aid to help them better understand the mechanics of the game and help them find the perfect play style. However, when I see red ranks use no ed, I'm just like "really, you need that perk to guarantee you a match". Its like when people just spam a lot of the killers abilities, specifically with the Clown and Doctor. To be honest, I get very annoyed when people use these killers to camp all game.

I had someone literally target me with the Clown, spamming the bottle tosses and then face camp all game. The others survivors kept trying to help me, but the Clown kept dropping bottles, downing the others and letting them heal. I didn't even do anything to that person, I was just working on a gen alone; I dodged his bottles because i had a good area. I drop a pallet and keep going.

When i got off the hook, he tunneled me. After that he let everyone else leave, I was really annoyed and a bit angry. His response to camping me was "Daily Ritual". That just drew the line. I've never seen a daily ritual that has you camp someone's face.

  • @Fog_King said:

I just had a game where I saved Ash twice from the hook, the killer was not near, I healed him and we fixed 2 gens together. The killer had a pink mori and killed both of the other survivors (killed one, hooked Ash the second time, so I wasn't sure it was a pink mori until later when he killed the other survivor too). Then he finally found me, Ash unhooked me in front of the killer so I would get moried. Then, the killer gave him the hatch. I mean, how toxic is that, I saved him twice just to be betrayed like that.

People have no integrity. I know it is a game, but I never side with the killer unless it is some sort of revenge (like the survivor farming others over and over and me wanting them dead for that, which was not the case). When the killer is clearly trying to use me to get the last survivor or something, I just run away or refuse until the killer is fed up and kills me.

Harsh. There's been more toxicity as of late. If I'm near a teammate that's hooked, I try to stay out of sight and what a few extra seconds for the Killer to be a good distance away. Give my teammates a higher chance of getting away safely then unhooking them with the killer still very close, BT comes in handy if you're going to save immediately.

  • I understand, Asepa. I've done that so many times with friends and other survivors, its an honest mistake. But a learning experience for both, its just difficult to maneuver fast enough for two people to get away in a small spot even protection hits have become hard to execute after a hook safe.

Some people are understanding and don't get butthurt over it, but when its done on purpose than its a problem.

  • Yeah. That's why I haven't really played this game. I did report the bodyblock, but nothing will likely be done. Not too mention the whole killers camping survivors with one shot killers or just camping in general. I dont remember there being a lot of that when I first started playing, but I may have just been lucky in not getting campy killers.

That's a rather interesting approach, OldHunter. I'm sure he got mad, lol, but sometimes you have to give a toxic person toxicity back. I don't support that kind if act, but some people want the bad treatment.

Funny thing was, as soon as that person got downed he DC.
