  • I originally loved Feng because she was one of the few characters that were in the early days of the game. I absolutely love Jake though.

I really like his perks especially Iron Will because it has a lot of meaning to me. Not only was iron will a powerful perk for keeping you silent when injured, but it also reminds me that I too have a iron will of my own. Jake also reminds me of someone living the life they wish to and rebelling against the path a parent wants them to take because of society and social status.

I also find Jake quite handsome, but I love him more because of his unyielding spirit and love of living a modest life and to be surrounded by the nature around him in the woods.

Isn't it the case? I once mori'd someone and he took a endurence it?

    Wait was this a cheater???

Sometimes Myers’s mori registers as a lunge. It could be a bug Myers has. I haven't heard anyone having this happen with a cheater.

  • I've DC before, but it's never been because I got bested at the game. I rarely DC because it's like why lose all the bp I got during the game because it didn't go well.

The only times I've DC is because my teammates weren't doing anything all game or they teamed with the killer. Even then with the teammates doing nothing I stay till I die or I get all the gens done. Teammates working the killer is dumb and annoying, so I don't bother staying to stroke their ego. Is bad to do that, to others possibly but I rather take the penalty for the DC then wait for trash players to let me die.

Had that happen with a Nancy that was being complete trash and kept doing the unhook animation when I was second stage, so I DC because I wasn't going to wait. Did the devs do anything about the griefing and teaming with the killer? NOPE! The report is still pending even with video evidence, so i gave up on it since it was in the pending since like a year ago, gave up after seeing the bending for 6 months and even now it's still pending.

  • So you want a part of Myers power to be removed to make him weaker than he already is aw a killer? Myers's tombstone is an add-on that requires a lot of stalking. Plus, tombstone ain't a hit so endurance isn't going to work.

Second, if you get mori'd after being unhooked than it's your teammates fault for farming you.

  • I've been experiencing many sounds missing. As the person above mentioned, I too haven't been hearing footsteps, groans of pain or breathing. Not even when I hit the survive do they scream. The only times I've heard the survives doing anything is when I'm right near them, like hitting distance.

  • Okay buffed Legion hasn't even been out a week and people are already asking for a nerf. Legion is one of my mains and I'm honestly astounded by how powerful they are now; some tweaks were a bit much I'll admit, but Legion deserves this buff. They're lethal now and I love it.

  • You think so? I'll send a report and see what happens. Thanks.

  • Going against the same killer and survivors is very high right now.

  • Sbmm isn't loading me into any matches as killer. I sit for like ten minutes and go play another game. Come back in the afternoon, still the same result and at night. So sad.

  • Myers. I love getting jumpscared by him.

  • I had a jerk like this. I was doing adept Myers and they called me trash when I got nearly 25k bp. Personally, I don't think anyone's trash if they have that much bp. I reported their two accounts since I blocked their original one and they legit made a new one to continue being a toxic load of garbage.

People will do anything to make people's experience a nightmare. I also believe that they were a hacker because I had them in a pallet less area and then suddenly my entire game spun and they were at a pallet tbagging. I was like the hell, my frames weren't even dropping or anything.

  • I don't really have any resent towards survivor characters in particular. I just hate people who play the characters in an annoying way. Like why use game mechanics to be a dirtbag to another person, you're just making yourself look like a fool.

  • You got nearly 25k. You didn't do bad at all. People are just conplete garbage, my friend. I applaud you for playing as Killer and the blight; I hear he's hard to use.

  • @Carrow said:

My Killer ques have never been shorter, although in the morning it might take 3-5 minutes to get a match. In the afternoon I almost immediately get dropped in a lobby.

You're lucky. I haven't loaded into any matches. I've tried this morning and nothing. Second attempt right now and still nothing.

  • That's honestly what I was hoping for when single player came out, but all it was a practice round with the main survivors and main killer. I thought it was going to be like how Friday the 13th had their randomize counselors and you can choose whichever Jason. I was disappointed, I mean its good practice with Trapper, but not everyone plays as The Trapper on this game.

  • Hey buddy. I understand where you coming from. This game is known for a very Toxic Community, them vs us at every corner. I've been in your position where all I get are toxic survivors. Many of the survivors have large egos and immediately get upset when you outplay them. All you can do is move forward with the game if you still wish to play, there are many people in this community who are wholesome and will be good to you.

I'm one of the Killers who likes to play fair and be nice to others when they deserve it. As a survivor also, I really hate when people do that to someone who they see is "new" to the game and see it as their right to be bullies. Flashlight clicking, you can ignore it and catch them by surprise with a hit. The matchmaking system is complete garbage because it basis MMR on kills and escapes, its garbage when you first play killer because the SBMM doesn't have a record of you yet so your matches will be up and down in ranks until you have a study group of survivors that matches your skill level.

  • You do realize that SWF is out of game implementation. People use XBOX Party Chat or Discord and just invite friends to play. SWF isn't a mechanic that can be removed from the game because its something people just do. Plus, a lot of people do more SWF these days because many players are newbies or really don't do anything all game, so many gamers invite their friends to play because they need and want reliable teammates.

  • Clown, Leatherface and Doctor. Not the Killer itself but just how people have been using them. Doctor: repeated shock therapy even at close range, Clown: same as doctor, bottle spamming, and Leatherface: chainsaw spamming and the face camping in broad daylight.

Other than that I enjoy going against a lot of killers.

  • @RaSavage42 said:

    In my opinion

Camping (either face or proxy)- is when a Killer doesn't leave a theoretical area to which a Survivor is hooked

Tunneling (either hardcore or happenstance)- is when a Killer doesn't leave a Survivor to heal or get on a Gen after being unhooked

See I am one of those Killer that doesn't Camp nor Tunnel but get (Bad Word) cause the Survivors think that I am... Yes I won't leave a hook if I see another Survivor or I see scratch marks (either around the hooked Survivor or coming close to the hooked Survivor)... and as for Tunneling I do only for the hook nothing else so if I see a Survivor getting unhooked then I'll go see what I see (either the Survivor that just came off the hook or them healing -either at the hook or somewhere close by- so it's not entirely my fault for doing what I do... but if I am in a chase with another Survivor and the save happens then I let it go

I can relate to this so much. I had a Feng literally bee-line for a hook save, a David hooked on first hook, I heard the Feng breath and run so I looked around and the. I saw scratch marks. I hit and downed her, she was death hook and then complained about me hard-core camping.

I told her that I heard her breath and run and asked why they didn't wait for me to leave. She said because I was leaving so I answered, "your mistake for running when the killer is still around and why would I leave knowing a survivor is around".

I'm tired of feeling the need to give killers a kill because I refuse to escape with hackers on my team because I find it extremely unfair.

This match was against a legion, the hacker made her locked in the carrying animation so I couldnt even get her to hook me since she couldnt pick me up. Had to rush all gens and die to the collapse. This one was also in a swf and their buddy at the start kept teleporting to hooks and flying while in the pick up animation, that's how the killer got stuck.

Earlier today I got a nurse that downed us all at the same time and made us fall through the map. This one wasn't streaming but she admitted in post game chat and even said "it was a mistake I was trying to get infinite blinks".

I'm quite done with these mfs.

I had a hacker in a match once. I couldn't put the person I was carrying down or move. And the other person that escaped started talking trash. He got butthurt because I apparently camped him last match, which I didn't. I hooked him one time and his teammates bailed immediately

It's not just endgame chat though, I just get insulted for playing and winning games as a killer in general, I honestly don't know what I'm doing wrong, I don't tunnel, facecamp, or cheat in anyway, I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

People are always gonna talk trash no matter what. I got bullied repeatedly by a swf bully and subtle hacking Kate with speed hacks. Here was the mindset they had "if you're trash at the game, you deserve to get bullied".

What kind of sick mindset is that?!

  • Favorite: Meeting my two new friends

    Least favorite: Match making system

And lack of boon counterplay. Once a boon is found, the totem should break not just get snuffed out. There's a bit of bug on the boon sound since I can't really hear it active sometimes.

  • @Sinatyxmas said:

Just tried playing oni, got bullied by a swf group. Would show you the after game screen, but that would give them attention.

If you finish the last gen, just leave.

    No one likes a bully.

I dont mean this out of disrespect nor have revealed any names or ids.

Its just not fun to play killer anymore, since every other game is like this

But i got tome challenges... Yay.

If you seek to ruin someone elses game for them, then you shouldnt play the game.

Sorry had to get that out of my system.

I understand where you're coming from. A lot of people believe that its in their right to bully others. I've gotten bullied by survivors for 2 days straight. One said that I deserve to get bullied because I'm trash at rhe game.

I really don't understand why people do this. I consider it a self esteem problem that they have and that hurting others makes them feel good since their life isn't what they want it to be and such.

Don't feel bad. I was playing a game earlier where as soon as I dropped a flashbang near a killer I couldn't move for the rest of the match. I was farmed out of the match. if it's a hack Its BS.

Thank you for your words. It's just bothersome to have a hacker in the lobby and then have them bully message you after the trial.

  • I believe the hacker problem, hit validation and among other things are the biggest problems. The hacker problem has become a massive issue as of late. I've had 4 matches that had a hacker in it. Recently, I had downed a Kate and right when I was going to hit the Claudette my entire screen spun and I suddenly hitting a wall opposite of where they were.

  • People do anything to win. I've had a lot of speed hackers and possibly a few gen hackers. Not only that but I've been having a lot of bully survivors today.

  • Myers, the first killer I ever used, always loved Myers. The stealth of tier 1, his cool add-ons. Don't know my hours, but I can say I don't play killer often.

Been using Legion a lot. I like his ability and his add-ons. I like that he can use Feral Frenzy fast vaults and can be mistaken for a survivor.

I agree there's some placements you wouldn't think of looking at but, if you have counterforce you cleanse a totem than you just follow the trail because 1 gets revealed and than keep going until they're gone

Very well put. Totems though difficult to find can be made easy using rainbow maps, counterforce and small game.

  • I can agree with the aspect of camping a hooked survivor with NoEd. A lot of killers, as the ones mentioned like Trickster, Bubba and Hag, etc..., make it risky to go for a save.

Totem looking has also become a wild goose chase at times since a lot of hiding spots for totems are ones that people wouldn't consider.

NoEd is a rather OP perk since it provides the killer an increase in speed *4% I think at tier 3) and grants the insta-down.

I've never used this perk because I rather work hard and earn my kills that have a perk hand me a win a way. NoEd doesn't always grant a guarantee 4k since many survivors will do the logical thing and leave once they see a survivor is being camped by a NoEd killer or try to hunt down the totem.

I can say that there are a few killers who I believe benefit from this perk; however, I've only seen killers who already have an insta-down equipped with it.

My question is...if you're very good at playing as a killer, why use NoEd anyway?

  • @Seraphor said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2623947#Comment_2623947

The only killer perk this would negatively affect is NOED, and even then, it's just bringing it back in line with how totems were treated before Boon perks.

That's very true, which that perk needs.

  • @Seraphor said:

The worst part of Boons in my opinion is that survivors can repeatedly rebless them. When they're used effectively, this forces the killer to repeatedly snuff them out.

"But it wastes 14 seconds of the survivors time you should hope they keep reblessing them!" One survivor reblessing and playing stealthy to do so, another survivor taking the killers attention, that still leaves two survivors to continue the objective. Killer time does not equal survivor time, but it's not simply a 1:4 ratio, its dynamic, because of how different things demand different amounts of a players attention.

Having to repeatedly snuff out a boon totem is simply irritating, and survivors who repeatedly rebless 'feel' like they're trolling you. It's simply not an enjoyable mechanic.

    • Boon totems should be destroyed when they're snuffed out.

This would limit them to 5 uses per game, and bring them back on par with other totem related perks, most notably Inner Healing. It also means their treatment of Hex totems is fair, because a bless can be considered synonymous with a cleanse. Cleansing a totem removes the Hex, so does blessing the totem.

If this is too big a blow to the boon perks themselves, then I'd add in a buff to compensate:

    • Blessing a totem does NOT alert the killer with a thunderclap audio notification.

This would mean the killer may not know that there's a Boon perk in effect until it gets used, allowing survivors to almost certainly get some use out of it before it is snuffed out. Again, this is more on par with Inner Healing, where one totem = one free heal, well with Circle of Healing, one totem could = a few heals, before the killer realises it's there, finds it and snuffs it out.

You do realize that would also limit the killer's own use of their perks and make it easier for survivors to avoid, the oftenly used NoEd. I don't personally run this perk at all, but it would cause another argument among the community as meaningfully suggestion do. I do like your idea of the totems being destroyed after being snuffed out, which would even the playing field for both since a lot of people are indeed running those perks.

  • @Laluzi said:

Any survivor who complains about you tunneling them when their teammates are all on death hook and they aren't is either incredibly selfish, an idiot, or both. It's basically the kindest thing the killer can do for the team, to focus on the one player that won't be removed from the match. The switch to 4v1 to 3v1 is when the balance of the game tips hard in the killer's favor and it's in the killer's best interest to pull that off as soon as possible.

If you get the full 8 hooks before killing anyone, that's the polar opposite of tunneling.

I guess the only consolation I can give is that sometimes you will get survivors who recognize you spread hooks and thank you for playing fairly. It's not all Fengs out there.

I agree. I'm a killer who likes to play fair and go after a healthy survivor when the unhook happens. Though I accidentally hit the injured survivor at times, but still go after the saviour. The only times I don't go after the healthy is if all the 3survovors left had abandoned a teammate till 3rd stage then no one is leaving.

Spreading the hooks out gives you a higher chance of securing a kill despite borrowed time, which is another reason to go after the healthy one. Or what I do often, go after the next person I see; if it's the recently nhooked, I down and find someone else.

And here is the Video of this Hit Fast Vault thru the Window

Youwch. Yeah from that perspective, that hit shouldn't have connected. But you also have to take into consideration that "hit validation" favors the side with the better connection. I've had this happen many times and it irks me. Hit validation shouldn't rely on whose got the better connect but on how it looks from both sides and not freeze your screen to validate a hit that shouldn't have even connected.

Had that happen with the huntress, apparently her hatchet connected with me even though I wasn't in range of it.

  • @Myla said:

The lore stuff aren't related to actual game balancing.

Feels like you had superficial understanding and treated the end goals of both sides black and white, Survive or kill.

Never really understood the major issues with the game. Why are killer complaining with the looping? Maybe they don't have the time to deal with it. How do we give them time to deal with it?

Getting out looped, find someone else to chase. There's a reason gens take time to do, but map designs also play a part in this and some maps are large disadvantages for some killers.

If I can't catch a survivor who is very good at looping or a God loop area is still perfectly usable, I look for someone else and get the survivor to pallet drop. Sometimes pallet respecting isn't the best option, take take stun and the pallet is gone if you break it.

  • @hiken said:

i dont know exactly what are u complaining about,

are u talking about playing well and coordinated? is that the thing toxic for u? are u dumb?... in wich game being good is actually toxic? i never heard such much bullshit before, people like to call everything toxic without even knowing what toxicity is. toxicity is having a dumbo survivor with a macro flashlight being f* annoying all game, thats toxic, toxic is also t-bag and disrespect the killer at any given chance (cause the killer cant do anything in that especific moment), thats toxic.

just very few things in this game are toxic, playing well is not one of them. is just that SWF wont let u stomp them they will put a fight and most likely will beat u (if they are good enough), solos can be extremely toxic (actions, gameplay with macros, t-bags) but awful players (dont know how to spread the pressure, looping, coordinate unhooks properly, etc, so makes no sense this post...

May want to add "after game chat" for PC and Console. It's more toxic to message someone and insult them based on their playstyle, good or made mistakes. Nothing is more toxic than being a scumbag and immediately message the killer to taunt them about a loss or a survivor being killed first because they got outplayed.

  • I main Myers and I agree that it's really lame that he can run out of power for tier 3. That happened to me on Badham with two survivors left, a extremely cautious Nea and a attention obnoxious and overconfident Laurie. I couldn't stalk Laurie anymore and just ignored her for a while since she was being an attention seeker. I got her in the end because she got to confident and of course, also got her injured teammate caught as well.

Anyways, I think Myers’s power can be compensated also and it would really help people who main Myers in the long run. Instead of running out of stall for a survivor, Myers can only gain a small amount of it rather than be completely unable to stalk survivors. This can at least give him a bit of a boost since he already has Tombstone for insta-kills. Myers’s power is a strong one if you can time the tier 3 right, but the limit of stalk is what also hinders Myers since many survivors these days like to be the center of attention because the can loop. And that costs Myers much stalk power in the long run. Plus, the intensity of the glow of the survivor can slowly fade to red to keep better track of how much a survivor has been stalked. That's my share on how Myers can be buffed.

  • Spikes have been happening more with the new patches. Console is affected by the lag spikes also.

  • I'm sorry you first experience in this game was filled with toxicity. The community has become more and more toxic as the years go on.

The toxicity isn't survivors only as many people say, but also killers as well. Survivors tbag because they get swelled heads in dominating someone who is obviously new to being killer or doesn't play it often. I've been in your position multiple times and both sides will complain about anything.

You'll encounter may survivors who consider themselves entitled and have that holier than thou attitude because they outplayed a rookie. This matchmaking system is something out of nightmares because it's been changed numerous times. Originally, the matchmaking looked to be based on the average rank among survivors being loaded into a match then it became based on rank and now skill based.

Ignore these salty people and move forward. They aren't worth your time and words, people look for any excuse to blame the other side for anything. I will say that many things in this game are broken: killer hit boxes, lag spikes, glitches and if course the hit validation only confirming the hit or miss based on who has the better connection. There are also hackers lurking around, but BHVR does little to stop it. The games reputation has taken a plummet and many people who remain are either arrogant and entitled survivors, newbies, or people who Team kill and hackers.

My advice is to ignore these people and play the way you wish to. No one can tell you how to play or whom. Many of the people who say gg ez are those who pick on rookie killers and rookie survivors, but immediately get salty when they get bested. Be the bigger person and ignore them, you're better than them because you don't go out of your way to insult someone because of how they played.

Be strong, my friend. This game is great and terrible, great because of the fun you can have and the jumpsacres that occur but terrible because of the kind of community people created over ridiculous things.

If you still want to play the game, I recommend watching you tubers playing the game to learn some tips and tricks and it can give you ideas as to what perks you can use. Customs with friends are also perfect ways to polish your skills, test new perks and learn the mechanics of playing both sides.

  • This is solely my view, I honestly want a good match. Don't feel as though not getting a kill is something to feel bad about. I hardly get a kill sometimes and it's usually because I made a mistake, the survivors are efficient or use perks that many people run for second chances these.

If you gained blood points of 15 to 20k, I say you played a good match. Kills do have a high BP value but so does keeping the gens unfinished and hitting survivors.

You'll have good days and bad days. Take a 4 escape as a chance to evaluate what happened and learn from it. You tried your best and that's what should be most important to you. You're playing a role that is difficult, especially with how dirty a lot of survivors play and the heavy usage of perks such as d strike, deadhead, borrowed time and head on.

Playing as a killer is hard especially against skilled survivors and a sometimes rough map choice. Learn from each match and polish your skills. Perhaps you haven't found a killer that best suits you yet.

The game can be and is very imbalanced and that's because a lot of people complain about silly things such as not getting easy kills, a perk being on, a killer needing a buff, the list goes on. Play this game for yourself, not for others.

Don't feel bad about not getting kills, everyone who plays as killer has those days. The more you play a certain killer, the more you understand how they work, when is a good time to strike and how to mind game a survivor into making a mistake. It's all a learning process, my friend.

Must have got lucky I always seem to get stunned and blinded

Possibly. Getting blinded is irritating, especially with some of the angles of blinding. But there are ways to avoid it. The quick blind also depends on the add ons and the rarity of flashlight being used. Some flashlight take a bit more time to blind the killer than others.

  • Not in thr pick up, but you can somehow avoid being stunned but still blind. I've had it happened where I get blinded but I didn't drop the survivor.

  • Wow. People these days would do anything to give others a hard time and to avoid losing.

So how do you avoid getting blinded if you can be blinded from the side

Best way to avoid being blind is to look up or quickly look the opposite direction, but looking up is much faster or run the perk light born.

  • A blind is normally aimed at the face of the killer, side blinds are rather uncommon but some are able to do it. The blind along the middle face of the killer or something. I never really understood how sideblinding I'd possible if it's not right in the face

  • @ThatOneDemoPlayer said:

Like, can you guys remove this thing and make the game fun again without requiring players to lose like 50+ games to have a fun game once in a while?

I completely agree. This matchmaking system is absolute trash. Not everyone is going to be good against the same killer twice because every person plays the killer in different ways. Also, grouping newbies with an experienced killer is beneficial to the experience for them to learn but what good will it do for them if the killer wither camps the hooked survivor or slugs at 5 gens. It doesn't make sense and it isn't fun for many people who play both killer and survivor.

  • I was honestly hoping behavior would do something for Myers in celebration of Halloween Kills. And yes, I agree. All the weapons Myers has used in 2017 should be a part of DBD.

  • A lot of these updates have made a mess. The grab change is a bit odd and lags a lot. I do player a lot of killer, but I can see why people get upset about it. If they don't get hit on their end then why does it say it on the killer side. It's confusing

  • In all honesty, I ask myself the same question. I was hoping for something more out of the single player mode than what we received. Just using the original characters without the chance to use another other killer or even perks is rather dull. I'm not a big fan of the SBMM since it just takes the average skill range and places you with a group or killer you might do well against.

They should've just stuck with the old match making system rather than this odd method.

  • I've had my far share of cheating. Had a Steve use what looked to be hacking to try and freeze my game while I was hooking him. I also believe he was speed hacking because I couldn't catch him a second time since I couldn't seem to close distance to get him, my game froze in trying to Feral Frenzy a Claudette also, I couldn't get Frank to maneuver around a tree and kept getting lagged back.

I honestly hate what the game has become because not much is being done about hackers.

  • @ThiccBudhha said:

Anything is possible. There are a lot of cheaters and they have all kinds of hacks at their disposal.

Geez. I'm gonna be honest, I'm not the best killer but I can definitely notice when something isn't right. Why can't the devs do a bit more to avoid this? I thought hacking on console would be less like than PC.
