Almost without exception all great or longtime dbd players play both side to some extent. He has videos on both. I personally saw him as a survivor main, but it could have just been the youtube algorithm feeding me that info.
He used to dedicate sperate days for both killer and survivor, so definitely flex

Death Stranding is the SECOND best game i have ever played. (Portal 2 is the first, but anyways)
Anyways, Death Standing has everything you want according to that sentence: good, addictive gameplay. it's a special type of addicting. it's not like league of legends or dead by daylight that makes you hate yourself for playing it, it's in fact the opposite. i always end up with a clear and happy mind after a session of death stranding.
It's very chill, there's no scare in this game, lots of rain and snow too. You can go on climbing mountains and hiking, crossing rivers, micromanaging inventory, listening to sounds of the environment, listening and chilling to in-game music under the rain. The main selling point of this game, at least for me, is how immersive and slow-paced it is. with realistic sounds and animations and dialogue, I feel like I'm actually Sam at some points when playing. Kojima put a lot of effort into making that immersion feeling perfect. There's also music added in at some points of the game, that also seals the deal. And it's beautiful, enough said. You'll see how beautiful it is when you check the screenshots. I've completed it 3 times already, despite having a very very long campaign, it is just that good.
There are a few parts with combat and stealth, but those are little in numbers compared to the amount of hiking and immersion you have.

Beyond Two Souls and Detroit Become Human are very well made narrative-driven games. One of the best of its genre, if not the best. Both games are equally great, so it comes down to preference which you will like more.
Beyond Two Souls can be played ENTIRELY couch co-op with another player (2 controllers) as well, if you decide to do that. However it is just as good when played in single-player mode. In essence, it's a story game with decisions you make just like in The Walking Dead series by Telltale. You can't really fail in this game, you can fail some QTE's and make some bad decisions but you never really die and have to retry all over again like in traditional games. So that means you can take it chill and just immerse yourself in the story, playing as Jodie (and Aiden). It's very emotional and you have power over some parts of the story too, especially the ending.
Detroit Become Human is very similar to Beyond and was made by the same developers (Quantic Dream). This one lets you play as 3 different characters with 3 different stories. I highly recommend this game as a must-play. The story is very well written and you have almost full control over how the story goes and what your characters become. I don't know how to describe how good it is, just give it a try. If you liked beyond two souls and the walking dead by telltale, you'll probably love this game.

Little Nightmares
This game series are much different from other games you might have played recently. Both games are trial and error casual games that have surprisingly captivating stories and gameplay. If you're looking for a breath of fresh air from other PVP and multiplayer games, and want to play a short casual game, Little Nightmares 1 & 2 are great options. I recommend playing both, they have connected stories and both are great and worth the money imo.

The rest of the list are all must-plays imo, especially portal 2 and resident evil 2 remake. Maybe not so much sims, but i know some people who have spent thousands of hours simply making new characters and stories all day.
I think you'll know once you read a few reviews how good Portal 2, Resident Evil 2 Remake, and Terraria are (if you didn't already), so I'm not even going to bother writing about these masterpieces.

A stress reaction to negative thoughts is stronger than positive thoughts because of our "fight or flight" programming. In short, back in our early history we would be very wary coming across a sabre-toothed cat and stress acts as a defense. It's a little outdated now, but it's the main reason.
Also, with your friend, although Autism doesn't cause outbursts itself, the frustrations those with the condition feel can cause those to act angrily. I'm on the spectrum, and any build up of stress or such will cause us to become frustrated - but that's the same with anyone. It's just those on the Spectrum may have a harder time with it.
It's good to see you're both on good terms now though🙂
Forgot to mention she has Bipolar too. So she said that was probs also a big cause of it.
It's really hard trying to understand this stuff sometimes. I guess I'm quite "normal" when compared.

I don't want to appear to be throwing shade at the devs. But the head of the balance team (1 of 2 people, from their own words) says that Pallet Freddy is more effective than Snare Freddy. Don't know how much that effects the logic behind the Freddy changes

They mentioned a while back about getting rid of the ranked perks and only having a single tier for all of them. This would cut it by an insane 66%. That idea might be questionable to them now as lots of people's interest in the game is perpetuated by the grind itself.
Personally, I feel the grind is much better than how it used to be. I remember a time before archives and god forbid without bubba.
Edit : also you never used to get 4 perks at lvl 50 plus

Why did they even nerf Lightborn to begin with? If perks like Franklins exist, why not anti flashlight perks? Only reason I can think is that survivors will throw the game by consistently trying to blind over and over again.

Well, BBQ & Chili is the prominent example. I guess I'll explain my point in more detail.
It's THE most popular tracking Perk not because it's the strongest one (I think most people would agree Whispers is stronger and more consistent, though I do want to emphasise that BBQ without the bloodpoints would still be quite solid), but because it's got bonus BP, right? But, when Survivors keep seeing BBQ being used endlessly on almost every Killer because of that BP, it can create a lot of resentment towards the Perk, not all of which is rational.
It doesn't exactly help that BBQ is a tracking Perk specifically. So, its effects aren't immediately clear to its opponents and it influences an ambiguous part of the game, so they might be inclined to blame any instance they get found as "oh, they had BBQ", instead of other explanations like scratch marks, gamesense or dumb luck.
So, if a Survivor has a game where they felt hounded and pressured for most of it, like the Killer always knew what they were doing, ecetera, and they see BBQ AGAIN in the end of lobby screen, that can produce some salt towards the Perk and lead them to believe that BBQ is part of the cause.
Ahh I see! Thank you for clarifying. Sad because it shows that the ones complaining have never touched killer by the looks of it. Survivors who play survivor only are way more common than killers who play killer only.

probably because of the aura reading. I mean im a survivor main and i dont complain about it but im guessing they want for example the BP stacks to be removed or buff WGLF aura reading when you unhook someone you will see killers aura.
I try to play killer more than surv, and most of the time I use BBQ for the points. But RARELY does it ever provide me with that much insane info. Maybe it'll show me 1 survivor across the map. Maybe 3 in complete different directions so I can't do much. I just don't understand how any player can think it's OP unless they have never touched killer (no offence) and refuse to use it.
I think on most of my Blight games it's barely showed me anything tbh.
