Just got done playing 3 matches. So far it's pretty bad. Not to rant but wow is it pretty awful.

It's hard enough to land the knives bc of major recoil let alone land 16. The obstacles in the map is enough defense against them due to hiw slow he is once you wind up to throw them. He can't chase bc of 110% movement speed and good luck playing him on Lerys. Wow.

He's trash. I regret unlocking him. He needs serious work. The devs must not play their own game if they think he stands a chance against competent survivors.

All they have to do is zip zag and run around obstacles or go through a window and bam. Knives useless but to have to land 16 to down and if you don't stay on them the meter regenerates?! So all for nothing if you don't tunnel.

Easily the worst killer so far. I like the idea of fury knives but they need to take away the recoil and regeneration and buff his movement speed if they think anyone will actually play him.

He can't down survivors unless he tunnels and he's to slow to chase to even do that.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I wish I could have a refund.

  • @TauNkosi said:

Yes, we get it. Your first three games playing him didn't exactly go well. We understand he's in need of some buffs. It's obvious he's not nurse of Freddy levels of good. The problem is, you're all playing him expecting to do good without actually working out all his kinks. Stop expecting 4ks and start learning from your games instead of complaining on the internet. I've already run into some tricksters who absolutely decimated me and my teams. It can be done. Just give it some time.

You're right, lets make a detailed list of pros and cons like calm adults.

    Pros:

    Cons:

It takes 8 knives to take away one health state.

Survivor's Laceration meter goes away even while they are in a chase and sprinting.

It goes down pretty fast too.

Trash at loops because he's so slow.

Even when using knives at loops, it takes forever to get a down and generators pop.

Recoil for small throwing knives, but not for explosive speargun, and at least speargun takes a health state on one hit.

    Power cannot be controlled effectively.

Power cannot be activated at will.

Oh, and theres a bug where he can't turn when close to walls.

In closing, can you honestly say this killer is viable?

  • I had an idea for a Killer called The Orphan that I thought was pretty cool. You can find the whole thing here if interested:

    @UncleStabby said:

Kids are cruel. Sometimes, evil is born, not made. Others, it is forged through neglect and abuse. Both evils would come together to create a monster in a small city on the Eastern Coast of America.

Given up for adoption shortly after her birth, Sherry Kerrigan never felt like she fit in. Chewed up and spat out by the State Adoption System, she spent her childhood being shipped from one Foster Home to the next, never staying in one place long enough to make friends or find a decent foothold in life. Eventually, Sherry ended up in the care of a particularly well-to-do family in New York. The couple was the first to ever attempt to make her feel wanted, and tried very hard to provide a loving home despite how late in life she'd entered their lives.

When she was fifteen, her new parents entered her in the most prestigious Private School in the state. It had everything and more to offer towards a better life, from extensive extracurricular programs to the best-funded education syllabus in the country. Nonetheless, Sherry struggled to fit in even here, and this unfortunately caught the attention of a group of bullies. For two years, they slowly began to make her their favorite victim. It started with poking, pinching, and flicking, eventually evolving into loud insults and even physical abuse. Her quiet nature kept her from ever seeking help.

One day, the group of bullies managed to corner Sherry in one of the school's storage wings. Trying to satisfy their sadistic urges, the bullies began to beat her mercilessly, pushing her to the ground and kicking her in the chest and stomach, punching her arms as she tried to defend herself and pulling her hair out by the fistful. To them, it was all fun and games, but the mood changed when the leader of the group brandished a pair of scissors. The room fell completely silent, and the others watched in horror as their role model descended on the huddled up, sobbing mess on the floor at their feet. Screams of terror broke through the silence and blood splattered across the cold floor.

To the bully's surprise, it was not Sherry's blood, but that of the bully who was now screamin in anger and holding the open wound in her neck. Their victim dropped the scissors in her hand and tried to run, but they quickly piled on top of her and held her down. On the leader's orders, they dragged her to a dusty old locker and crammed her inside, locking it tight and leaving her to scream and pound on the door as they locked off the entire wing.

As she cried and struggled to free herself, but to no avail, and as starvation started to set in, panic turned to rage, rage turned to fury. The inside of the locker became freezing cold, and the metal door before her gave way at long last, leading to a dark realm of fog and fear...

Sherry's Foster parents would spend the next year visiting police stations and private detectives, but to no avail. Their questions only became more numerous on the anniversary of her disappearance, when the body of the school's most notorious bully was discovered locked in a locker, in a part of the school where no one was permitted, with a look of sheer terror on her face.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/Z35CQQ3PAZQV/20210212-135545.jpg

The New Killer is The Orphan.

    Special Ability: Hide and Seek

When standing in front of a locker, press the active ability button to enter it. While in a locker, the Orphan is Undetectable. Press the active ability button again to exit the locker. Exited lockers will have their auras revealed to the Orphan to a maximum of three seperate lockers. Revealed lockers can be teleported to while inside a locker and pressing the secondary ability button.

While in a locker, pressing and holding the active ability will send the Orphan exploding from the locker in a burst of speed, letting out a disorienting scream. Succesfully hitting one survivor within 10 seconds of rushing from a locker instantly puts them in the dying state. Furthermore, survivors who attempt to enter a locker that the Orphan is currently occupying will result in an automatic grab.

The Orphans Perks Are (in order from top to bottom):

Claustrophobia - The last locker you searched becomes marked by the Entity. If a survivor enters the marked locker, the Entity blocks it off, trapping them inside for 4/7/10 seconds. Blocked lockers cannot be interacted with by Survivors or the Killer. Claustrophobia has a cooldown of 120/90/60 seconds.

Leave Me Alone - Each time you are blinded or stunned by Survivors by any means, gain a token up to a maximum of 2/4/6 tokens. Each token of Leave Me Alone increases the speed of all break actions by 10%. Furthermore, movement speed while carrying survivors is increased by 10% per token.

    Hex: Ring Around the Rosie

    A hex rooting its power in long chases and tenacious Survivors. Each time a stack of bloodlust is gained, RATR gains a stack of its own for a maximum of 4. Stacks can only be gained once per Survivor. The gains of each stack differ from each other;

-Ring Around the Rosie (Stack 1): Movement Speed while in a chase is increased by 1/3/5%

-Pocket Full of Posies (Stack 2): Bloodpoint gains of all actions are increased by 50/100/150%

-Ashes to Ashes (Stack 3): If broken, the Hex totem will respawn on an available Dull Totem once per Trial.

-We All Fall Down (Final Stack): All injured survivors are afflicted by the broken status effect. For 30/60/90 seconds.

That's it for the Killer part! The four icons at the bottom are addon concepts. Please, let me know what you guys think, or if you have any cool ideas to flesh her out!

I also had a few doodles I did for cosmetic ideas for killers such as:

    The Twins

    20210314_181731.jpg

    The Pig

    20210126_153059.jpg

    And even The Nightmare

    20210127_180725.jpg

This community comes up with a lot of cool ideas. Id love to see more of our ideas included in the game.

  • Excuse me, ahem, hi, uh, p3 console Deathslinger here... uh.... What are you smoking?

Just practice, and I promise you'll be making great shots with the Call of Duty Killer. Just bring your reload addons, learn when to quickshot and when to fake out, and sometimes just get close for a hit. I promise, those survivors will zig zag to avoid your gun, and that gives you so much time to get in close.

  • Thanks guys. Ill try some of these.

Plague: You just want to chill.

Bubba: You just want to chill, but get rewarded with wins for it.

Demogorgon: You're a form over function kinda guy.

Blight: You're the DBD equivalent of the guy who casually plays 4D chess with Einstein or the massively buff guy who doesn't talk to anyone at the gym ever. A silent god, if you will.

Twins: You hate being alive so you're gonna make everyone else hate it too.

Trickster: You want Trickster to spit in your mouth.

I want Trickster to what?! Pfft! Haha... me?! N-naaaaw...

  • You already have a huge leg up on most new killers, being a high rank survivor yourself. Get into the survivors heads and predict them. Its rewarding.

  • @Cythe said:

THE PROBLEM: From both my personal experience and the consensus of people I see streaming or in chat on streams, Rapid Flashlight clicking goes hand-in-hand with "Toxic" behavior. It is used to annoy/irritate people playing killers. Which, doesn't exactly promote a fun game when your intention is to irritate. People get 3rd party programs to "Strobe" with their button just to do this.

I'm not talking about the function of Flashlights, I don't mind if someone gets the save. I'm talking about using it simply to annoy or rub in how much they are beating you, like tea-bagging or moonwalking in front of the killer.

THE PROPOSAL: Each time the flashlight is activated, a set amount of battery is drained as a minimum.

For example: If you set the minimum battery drain to 1 second, then they are incentivized to keep the battery on for at least 1 second per activation otherwise they are wasting battery life.

This would help eliminate this particular toxic behavior and encourage flashlights to be used as intended.

In closing, I think player Toxicity is the biggest problem in this game. Not the bugs, not the devs, not the balance. It's how the players treat other players. I don't know how much post-game reports get followed through on, but I make them. And now that I've thought of at least ONE pro-active way to discourage a certain type of behavior that OFTEN goes hand in hand with people trash-talking and belittling people, well...I thought I'd submit the idea. Thanks for reading.

Personally, I think the frantic clickity-click offscreen from a survivor that wants me to chase them while I'm deliberately ignoring them and chasing someone else is very satisfying.

  • They should add the Zombies from "The Fog" while they're at it.

  • @xoblow said:

I don’t think traps shouldn’t be interacted with until a gen is powered because sometimes it’s best to have some stall in the moment versus when they get back on the gen because they can’t do anything about their trap anyway. Secondly I want blindness and so addons but they should be applied for up to 60 seconds after her trap is removed that way a pig that’s paying attention will know what’s going on. Also those affects should be applied when she hits a successful ambush dash because there’s no reason to go for an ambush when you should be going for a grab.

I almost had an aneurysm trying to read this.

Going into your profile and discussion on the side. Look for the designated post, copy the link, edit this post, and add the link in it. :)

    There you go!

  • @Seraphor said:

If traps can't be removed until activated, I would:

Increase the timer until it triggers. It's currently 150s, so add in time required to find and reach the first box and make it 180s.

Have failed skill checks knock 5 additional seconds off the timer.

Yes absolutely. Increasing the lethality of the trap is not my goal. I just want having one on your head to be a moreintense experience. More pressure than just "Oh I have a trap? Better go take it off before its even activated! Guys, hold off on gennies for five seconds."

  • @thefallenloser said:

Where's the rest of the post? Would prefer to read the entire thing in one page, but at least link the first part.

    How do I link it?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/235471/new-pig-rework-idea-pt-2-jigsaw-boxes

Just gonna point out about point number 3: Hell no. Making survivors injure themselves while playing the game is an awful idea. The proposed numbers are even worse, considering you get about 3 or 4 skill checks -per box-, so even with that, you'd HAVE to hit a perfect in order to avoid straight up dying again.

But the biggest problem with it is that it becomes way too difficult to avoid getting laceration stacks, which would be made infinitely worse if you have to search more than one box. And the weight of RNG in games involving the pig is already far too excessive.

Well, you have to take into account that most skilled players can hit a great skillcheck pretty frequently. At the same time, laceration goes away pretty quickly over time, so honestly I don't think adding it would be a problem. I did say make checks more frequent, but thats just because i've gone through one or two boxes with only one skillcheck.

  • @jakesotto said:

I play them both and it feels like wraith has more in his basekit and add on potential compared to ghostface at this point. Ghostface doesn't have mobility or many add ons that do anything. And I play ghostface more but am noticing that his gameplay style hasn't been as strong as maybe a year ago.

GF is more flexible as far as perk builds go, but Wraith's power is a lot more customizeable with addons. I think they're both fine to play.

  • @DemonDaddy said:

    @UncleStabby

Im a solo survivor as well and don't want to play with bots either. Just suggesting we give casual players the option in kyf so the skill bar doesn't have to be so low for the rest of us.

Oh, well in kyf thats fine I guess. Just not when you're trying to farm.

  • Its called 'crybaby syndrome'.

  • I honestly can't say this is a good idea. Bad randos are bad enough for us Solo Que people. Mindless bots? No thank you.

I love the idea of having certain outfits giving callbacks and references to other killers. Seeing Jigsaw on the backpack gave me a good chuckle. Would definitely recommend entering this into a cosmetic contest next time BHVR does one (probably in a few months with the 5 Year Anniversary), albeit maybe with some more detail and some colors. And this would give us a Victor that actually looks different from the base skin, finally! Love this concept.

Honestly, I'd love to give this color and more detail, and I believe I could, but I just don't have the technology I need to make it the way I see it in my head. Second stim's comin around soon though, so that could change.

  • @mistar_z said:

ugh finally a twins cosmetic idea that isn't _chucky and tifanny_ (i love them but they don't deserve to be meer cosmetic items)

OP this is super creative, I honestly really love it. Seeing her pick up and collect after other killers some how fits into her story too.

That was the most important thing, making sure I could fit in plenty of stuff from around the Entity's realm in the outfit. There could have been more easter eggs, but this is just a rough idea.

  • @Brokenbones said:

Actually a really well made concept. Love it

If BHVR ever does another 'design a cosmetic' contest, enter this please!

I dunno if its good enough for that, but im happy to try.

I'm going to have to ask you all to stay on topic (aka cows) I may not be a mod here (yet) but that won't stop me from giving out warnings and bans if necessary

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/HKDCRWMD1JRI/gettyimages-149712336-612x612.jpg

How is this off topic? This person is complaining about Huntress, I'm defending Huntress, very on-topic.

  • I think if the same person reports too many times, and an investigation is conducted (i.e. they find out you were reporting without justification too many times) they'll just auto-ban you. At least, that's speculation.

I was just in a game at Ormond as a Survivor (Claudette) and I was the last one left, crawling trying to find the hatch. I was up against a Ghostface. He found the hatch first so I crawled into a hiding place and decided to wait. Just as I bled out, the game disconnected me. It took me a few minutes to sign back in and I had a matchmaking ban for a few minutes left. I didn't disconnect nor did I lose internet. Is there a bug which triggers on bleeding out?

When you were hiding, did you take your hands off the controls and just sit there? you might have been kicked for inactivity

  • @Sluzzy said:

Playing 3 games already this morning and it was Huntress every game, I'm already done. I'm going to eat my cereal and leave the rest to endure that. It's pretty clear Huntress is a crutch killer as much as it is spammed constantly. When something is used that much, it means there is a problem. Hatchets that are unavoidable and uncounterable, killers crutch on things that have no counterplay to gain a massive unfair advantage. But lets make it a huge priority to nerf a fair survivor perk again and leave Huntress in her busted state. Too many hatchets to make up for mistakes with almost no cooldown, mammoth hitboxes that are too forgiving and gigantic, a lullaby that is non-directional. Broken.

All I can say is: LMAO. You should try playing Huntress sometime. Throw a few of those "Uncounterable" axes, and see just how many survivors juke you into the dirt. Thing is, Huntress actually takes a decent degree of skill to play really well. If you cant dodge those, then you're playing your loops wrong, end of story.

I think crossplay is ######### up things more than anything else. Does it really sensor curse words, that is too funny. Coming from a game where you are literally hanging people from hooks.

Yeah the first time I played a crossplay match in DbD, my internet bugged out and I lost it for like, two days. It took me a whole week to finally turn it back on and brave another match. I will say its made Killer Que way shorter, so that's nice.

  • Mine definitely has to be Huntress. The whole lost in the Forest dark-fantasy story book vibe hit the nail on the head, everything from the chipped Hare mask to the black veil and the grown woman with the mind of a feral child who doesn't morally know better was one of the best additions to this game. The lullaby was pretty much kicking a dead horse as far as NAILING IT. 10/10 Huntress, hands down.

  • That used to be the best part of Killer on ps4 was the hate mail. That and For Honor. After Crossplay I rarely ever get it. Feels bad man.

I laughed way too much at this. Sometimes I forget as bad as it can get on our consoles our Switch cousins have had to deal with so much more...

Well, Nintendo consoles have had a very limited past when it comes to titles from outside publishers, and I sometimes forget that. I bet it makes from some really bumpy bugs.

  • The fact that its 4 on one is pretty unfair in and of itself. Both sides can exploit the rough diamond this game could be to make it completely un-fun for the other side (and even the same side in some cases). Just take it one match at a time, and don't ever go in expecting to 4k.

  • You fix it by getting a big-boy console.

JK. Seriously though, I play on PS4 and I haven't encountered this problem, so it might be specific to Switch.

  • I may sound like a plebe asking this, but I do play Solo que a lot so I must ask for preperations sake. what does 4% mean?

  • @fr0sty1223 said:

The struggle mechanic is so buggy that it needs to be either fixed or removed. I have had multiple games where i am on the struggle phase and have gotten killed on hook while mashing the button to struggle when I’m no where close to the point I would be sacrificed. Something needs to be done about this mechanic

But if they did that, how would trash teammates kill themselves on hook when thy get caught once by a Spirit?

  • Related. If I play on ps4 and will soon have a pc, is there so.e way to move my stuff over? Ive spent a crap ton of money on this game so the answer will determine wether or not I play it on pc.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Someone who tunnels and camps isn't necessarily bad just because they do that. Some people just don't care about your feelings, and will do whatever seems like the logical choice. Most people just find these tactics uninteresting, and would rather lose a kill than get a kill via that way.

I just wanted to get that out of the way even though I don't think that was the case with this person haha.

Camping and tunneling is not about feelings. Its about exploiting your role as killer to keep your victim from enjoying their role in the game and purposefully ignoring your own objectives just to guarantee one kill.

Unskilled players camp and tunnel, because the ones who do that are clearly not confident in their abilities to complete actual chases and control objectives.

So, as a Killer main myself, yes, I would argue that camping and Tunneling is something that killers with a very low skill level would resort to.

By egc? Ok so you all did gens while someone was camped, how did he got 3 people then? If he got 3k he is either good or you guys did something wrong.

He chased someone, I did the first gen. I went for the unhook, he tunneled that person after they got off the hook, downed them, then chased me (already wounded) and got me on the hook. The person he slugged got up, but only because he was camping me. They unhooked me, he decloaked, went after me and downed me again, picked me up, got dsed, chased me anyway, downed me after a goose chase at shack (two gens got finished during that time.) Hooked me in basement, invisicamped basement, someone unhooked me, took a protection hit and then went down, he hooked them in basement. Im still injured, claudette gets caught trying to save the one who saved me, hung right next to her another genny done. I unhook claudette, the other kate dies on hook because I couldnt get there in time. He tunnels claudette (after - you guessed it - camping, hooks her again, she dies, nea finishes last generator and opens the gate, body blocks for still-injured me and goes down from noed.

  • @Shaped said:

Well he got 3k instead of 1 or 2 max because your team refused to do gens. You rewarded him for his playstyle.

I've wondered about this before... How long until everything has been nerfed into the ground and all perks and killers become next to useless?

Then there will be no challenge for survivors (who will leave) killers will get frustrated (and leave) and the game will die a slow and sad death.

  • @Marc_go_solo said:

There have been a fair few Spirit-related posts that have emerged quite close together recently.

Not grouping everyone in one basket, but are some of these in response to the DS nerf? I tend to see this type of trend occurs if one side has a nerf, they then focus on another aspect.

Not saying all nerfs aren't necessary - some are. But it's just the sudden influx in relation to upcoming changes.

Ive noticed a trend that as soon as a killer gets a nerf, Killers cannibalize survivor perks till those get nerfs, then survivors cannibalize a killer until that gets nerfed etc. It wont end until dbd is basically just a grey blob with only one button to interact with it.

I don't have any responsibility for my teammates and their enjoyment. I have responsibility for my own and unapologetically will do whatever I can to maximize it.

Also, a bit of perspective here. I only do this for Spirit games (approx. 1 in every 20-25 ish games) and give up instantly. That means teammates can themselves make a judgement on whether they want to play on or not without there having been much time investment expended in the match.

I feel like this must be the mindset of blendettes and hyper-emersed neas that just sneak around all day without even touching gens.

Contrary to your opinion, teamwork is a very important part of the Survivor experience, so maybe the reason you keep losing to spirit is because you only watch your own back and refuse to help others.

I can only hope then, that any teammates you get in the future can learn from your mistake and work together.
