But if someone is working on the gen and you hit them, you can pop it because the gen doesn't regress (might be a bug)

Ohh I thought you meant Surge made PGTW go off.

If you get DS'd 3 times in one game, you're either playing killer very unoptimally or you're tunneling, period. But once again, just slug.

Did I SAY 3 times? No, If you go look i SAID 60 seconds is a LONG time in DBD. You want proof? Have some confirmed numbers.

1 Survivor 1.0 c/s | 100 %1.0 c/s 80 seconds <- See that? 80 seconds to do most of one gen by yourself. You let that guy stay in a locker? Guess what he's gonna go do? Not only that but you can take that, do some simple math and realize 60 seconds IS TOO LONG. (not gonna even get into toolboxes or the stupidness that is 28 seconds for 4 survivors on a gen.)

The cleansing action takes 14 seconds to complete by default and resets if the Survivor interrupts it. <- Cleansing, which removes certain Killer perks FROM THE MATCH is only 14. 60 seconds IS TOO LONG.

Exit Gates take 20 seconds to open, and each of the three red lights above the switch box will become lit after a specific percentage interval (25 %, 50 %, and 75 %). If a player stops opening a gate, its progress will be saved. <- Honestly, I just hate this whole thing. Not even gonna get into it.

So "Just Slug Them" isn't how you fix it. They could have Unbreakable or something like that. Even "Flip Flop" will give them an edge. Hell crawling away and recovering will get them picked up most of the time, cause you can crawl across a map in 60 seconds. 60 seconds, IS TOO LONG.

If you wanna keep saying Slugging is the way to go, give proof. Also, read what you quote before you quote it.

1 Survivor1.0 c/s | 100 %1.0 c/s 80 seconds <- This is that one guy you don't wanna bother with cause of DS, doing almost a whole gen by himself. Never mind the 28 seconds if 4 people do it without toolboxes. (Which BTW, is ridiculous.)

The cleansing action takes 14 seconds to complete by default and resets if the Survivor interrupts it. <- Say good bye to those totems!

Exit Gates take 20 seconds to open <- Look at that! I'm just annoyed how low that is!

"Just Slug Them" Isn't enough of an answer. They jump in a locker then you have to eat that #########. 60 seconds is a LONG LONG time in DBD. Even if you slug them, look at the numbers I put and see that 60 seconds is a LONG time. Heaven forbid they have Unbreakable or something so if you slug they just pop up and STILL have Time.

(Sadly there arnt numbers for how long that takes, but its not 60 fricken seconds)

If you wish to continue, can you give some proof that your method works?

A second objective is the wrong path here. You won't get the results you want. Good survivors will just find ways to rush this new objective, while new survivors will have even MORE to learn and play around. The effects of a second objective would be disproportionate.

What would make a better impact would be to just limit the max speed at which a gen can be done. Right now, if you have 3 survivors on a gen with toolboxes that's like a 25 second gen. That's insane. Should NEVER happen. Really, 50 seconds should be the absolute limit to how fast a gen can be done. Doesn't matter how many survivors are on it, if they have toolboxes/perks, whatever. You should never be able to do faster than 50 seconds.

Another option would be to increase the difficulty of doing gens too quickly. Something like a meter that fills as gens are repaired/completed. The more the meter is filled, the harder and more frequent the skill checks will be. Then have some method of reducing the meter either by waiting or doing some specific actions to reduce it. Now survivors have the option to rush gen as they did before, but it will be significantly harder to do the faster they do it. And since it's a feature that would only apply to gens being done too fast, low rank survivors would basically be immune to the effects as they shouldn't do gens fast enough to trigger this mechanic.

    Also, I agree

  • Honestly, just give a BP bonus to killers based on SWF and the rank differences. I think a good amount of people would be okay with that. I would.

I have read the thread and a lot of the arguments are simply not valid. If you see someone with DS on a gen then just down them and leave them. If you see them doing stupid/awfully risky ######### then just down them or ignore them if they're by super safe pallets. If a DS'er is unhooking then don't grab but just down them. I don't understand why this is hard to comprehend??

If they have time to go into a locker then just leave them be. You do not have to chase a DS'er or make them a priority. You do not have to eat a DS to apply pressure. I have played plenty of killer games in red ranks where everyone ran DS and I didn't get DS'd once with 3 or 4K. I have played plenty of survior games where I didn't get to DS because killer just kept me slugged. It's not killer immunity, it's hook immunity

The only valid argument is it's a safe escape endgame but that's only the case if they are hooked by a gate. If you find yourself getting DS'd a lot and losing as killer, there is a good chance you're tunneling.

"Good chance you are tunneling." Do you realize how LONG 60 seconds is in this game?

  • @Corrupted said:

Why are people so mad about DS+Locker being a thing. You shouldn't be chasing someone that just got unhooked in the first place - if they go in a locker just leave them be, they aren't doing a gen or anything useful. A valid point is that it's killer immunity but even then just slug the person. It's a free escape in endgame is a bit of an issue, so it's probably smarter to eat the DS earlier.

I don't even have words for how wrong this is.

  • I'm done commenting on "Ban camping" threads. It just boils down to "REEEEEEE" on both sides and I'm not gonna bother. Yall don't wanna listen and just wanna #########. So go for it. Devs arn't gonna change it cause they'd have to change literally the whole game or there "Fix" gets abused. Get over it, or play a different game.

  • @UndergroundBubba said:

I wouldn't call it scared but I definitely get worried when I'm the one getting chased because I don't usually play survivor and I absolutely suck at making a chase last longer than a few seconds.

Honestly same. I can't get the hang of looping. Need to work on it more. I've been playing both sides to get more perspective from both ends of the game.

  • I just meant the topic in general.

  • Can we just drop this topic? All it boils down too is both sides "REEEEEEEEEE"ing at each other. It's not constructive at all.

  • Cry because Legion is not worth playing. I wish they were. They just arnt fun anymore. I never used the exploit and it is the reason why Legion is so unfun anymore. None of FF is any good anymore.

    @Kilmeran said:

@UlvenDagoth Well, the developers, Illfonic, weren't really following through on things to begin with. Then the Friday the 13th franchise lawsuit between Victor Miller (the writer for the original film) and Sean Cunningham (who controls the franchise) hit the courts. And it's been ongoing since. That thing is a bit complicated to explain quickly, so you'll have to Google it.

As a result, Illfonic and other Friday the 13th licensees were given notice to cease creating new licensing material. So, Illfonic had to stop making new content for the game. And the possibility of any new movies is a fantasy due to the lawsuit, as well.

Even if the lawsuit suddenly ended tomorrow, they already stated there will never be new content for the game, now. They've since moved on and are now doing the new Predator asymmetrical game for the PS4 exclusively. They just keep the F13 servers up and do bug fixes once in a blue moon. They also just released it for the Switch, but that's an obvious cash grab, considering everything else.

The game still gets around 700 players a day according to Steam Charts, and lobbies can be found during the day and early evenings. But I mostly game from around 10pm until midnight, east coast time. And during that window, lobbies are hard to find. So, if I want an asymmetrical horror game, it's DbD for that time of night.

That, or I just mess around as Jason in the offline bots mode. Which is what I've been doing for the Slasher fix until Behavior finally fixes the matchmaker in DbD.

  • @Kilmeran said:

@UlvenDagoth I'm going to be honest here: while I like DbD, it has never given me that sense of being scared during a match. I don't know if it's the limited sized maps, which strike me as more of a battle arena format than anything else, or what? But pound for pound, I get a lot more of that horror movie feeling, and even jump scares and such at times, playing a counselor in Friday the 13th. Even to this day.

It's just a damned shame that game went the way it did, because I even found that game more engaging as a counselor than I do here as a survivor.

Right now I play DbD because it's really the only game in town with a decent player base for that slasher-horror gaming when the mood strikes me. I do wish that another game similar to Friday the 13's core aspects would come along. Sadly, Last Year: The Nightmare was not it.

What did happen to that Jason game?

  • @brokedownpalace said:

  • Wow.... the salt from this discussion... I could season a day's worth of fries sold at a Mcdonald's. The one I agreed with was "It's an asymmetrical game." 4 vs. 1

You need to have an advantage as Killer or the Survivors are just gonna bully ya. Go play Legion without add-ons or something if you don't believe me.

"OH so just cause he's Killer he should get XYZ?" Yes. Yes, he should. Cause he's on a team by himself. The Survivors have voice coms, 3 other people helping them, and a billion perks and add-ons to help them. The Killer has himself, a few perks and an ever shrinking clock to kill everyone before the gens pop way too fast.

Legion can stab multiple survivors without a cooldown animation...hacks

    Spotted the Tru3 fan.

Keys are so unreliable when it comes to hatch escapes, as the user is much more likely to die beforehand or be unable to find the hatch.

"Reveal the Killer" Have you... SEEN the key add-ons?

That add-on burns through charges quick, and don't forget you have to spend precious charges "channeling" it before you actually see the auras. It also only reveals Killer in a certain range. You could probably SEE the Killer within said aura range.

If that's "so damn strong", why does nobody use key? Much less those add-ons?

Oh, right, because the key burns through charges before you can even USE it, broken keys are worthless without add-ons and they aren't as strong as med-kits and toolboxes without add-ons!

Anything that lets you and all your friends just leave is too strong.

Well you want to delete everything from this game to the point where we, survivors, cant loop, cant use insta-heals, cant gen-rush, cant open a hatch and let injured survivor from hook escape through it etc. With your vision, the game would become so boring and monotonous for survivors that they would get tired of DBD after 10 matches.

Way to over react and add nothing to the conversation.

  • @MimiDallas said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/665095#Comment_665095

It is. And I will tell you something. I love unfair mechanics of this game. I love using NOED on killers. I love to patrol 3 gens as a doc. I love bringing skeleton key as survivor. I love getting insta-heals. The matches are fun and unpredictable this way. I explore new ways of playing this game rather than settling down just to make gens and then open the exit doors. Sorry if this makes you angry, boo boo.

This makes you an Douche bag.

  • Keys are one of the stupidest and least rewarding things in the game. Congrads, you got out with alot less BP. Oh you get to tea bag at hatch when Killer-Senpai comes up, good for you. Honestly, If you have a key, you go to the top of the Killer's list. If you think you have skill cause you used a key, you are delusional.

  • No counter? Do gens. That simple. If all 3 of you do a gen, then you can complete all 3 of them before that person died if they struggle. Nice try.

    From the Wiki

    1 Survivor1.0 c/s | 100 % 1.0 c/s 80 seconds

Hooks have three different stages. Stages 1 and 2 each have a duration of 60 seconds

So, a face camp is 120 seconds.

1 gen is 120 seconds. All 3 of you do a gen. Bam, all 3 are done for one person. That's over half the needed 5.

  • @DWolfAlpha said:

I'm sure everyone has experienced this by now. At least if you play survivor more than just for Dailies. You get caught and hooked quite early in the match, and the the killer just stands there. Doing nothing. Until the Entity just takes you away. At this point, there is literally nothing you can do to counter this. Sure, there are perks that make it much easier to get off the hook without help, but if the killer is just standing there, you aren't making it very far. Tunneling and Slugging at least have a perk that can allow you to punish the killer for focussing on you and ignoring everyone else.

I know what many people are thinking, as I've heard the arguments before, "But if the killer is camping, the other survivors can just gen rush to punish them." You know what? When I'm a survivor, and I only make 1000 bp cuz the killer just stands there, and through perks that encourage that particular tactic grant the killer over 20k without doing anything else, I really don't feel like playing a survivor any more. This makes it very difficult for new players to gain an interest in playing the game. And killers that do this have the gall to complain about DC's, too. Like, if I can't do anything, why would I stay for a lousy 200 bp so you can get 20k? That makes the game not worth my time.

In case anyone is wondering, I'm a killer main. I really only play survivor cuz Ash was added to the game.

No, for my suggested solution. And no, I'm not proposing a punishment for people who camp. There are too many perks that encourage it to suddenly punish people for doing so. No, I suggest a distraction blood point event for anyone that has been camped, by a factor affected by how long the killer stood close enough or just close enough to watch the hooked survivor. Or, as tunneling has been countered by Borrowed Time, or slugging has been countered by Unbreakable, add a perk to the game that gives hooked survivors something if they're being camped. Either increased BP, as that is this game's currency, or slow the timer while they're being camped, or increase the chances of them escaping if they're being camped. Something that helps the person being camped. So far, all I can think of is the upcoming perk from the Stranger Things DLC that pauses the timer if someone is close to you.

No counter? Do gens. That simple. If all 3 of you do a gen, then you can complete all 3 of them before that person died if they struggle. Nice try.

I see so many people crying about DS being too OP still. Their only argument is that they see "every" survivor using it.

Let's think on that for a second...

DS is an anti-tunneling perk. Nothing else. So if "every" survivor is using it and you keep getting angry about that; it only means two things.

    1. You tend to tunnel quite often if you're hit with DS as much as you say.
    2. Most people tend to tunnel quite often if "every" survivor feels the need to run it.

This argument would work, IF it was a Anti-Tunnel perk. It isn't. It's "Oh have I left you on the ground long enough now after chasing you around two loops?.... Nope, ate a stun." it should deactivate after someone else gets hooked if it's "Anti Tunnel." Oh it's also "Gate is open, LUL let's let him grab me right at the gate so I can get some extra Tea bags in while he's stunned."

  • It's as bad as going against a SWF that built for Haddonfield.

  • @bubbascal said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/665381#Comment_665381

Here's a question: What perks do you use?

If you use Ruin, then that explains why you're doing so well.

I personally use his ability to try and spread damage and land the first hit. And that's it.

I then try to chase down the closest Survivor, preferably whoever is injured.

WARNING: Wordwall, I get passionate when it comes to Legion. Who was one of my favorite Killers. First CHARACTER I P3'd (for the trophies) because of how I loved playing them.

Legion is bad at anything above green ranks (and is still typically bad at green ranks) because Legion gets genrushed into oblivion. Their power is only good for landing that first hit. Old Legion could run around really fast. New Legion can't.

Their power cannot be used for map travel as it doesn't move around as fast anymore.

Someone did the math on the DBD GameFAQs board. You only gain around 10 extra meters if you do a Frenzy sprint instead of a normal walk. And the stun makes you lose all of that extra distance.

And in Frenzy, you can't see scratch marks or bloodstains. Meaning that you can't see Survivors sprinting around, running from gens or not healing.

You have a power that provides you no benefit in map traversal, and actively disadvantages you by not letting you track Survivors without Killer Instinct. Which is easy to escape detection from because...

… Legion's power has always had the same easy, OP counterplay: Split up. Legion's power requires people get into groups. And the moment Survivors see you, they are gonna scram. I had even said in the past concerning old Legion that their power could be beaten by running in a straight line.

    This is still true.

The poor speed also makes it hard to catch up to Survivors and hit them to keep the chain going, or start it, and Sprint Burst lets Survivors easily outrun Legion.

Deep Wound also never downs Survivors. In fact, I've heard of Survivors deliberately going down in corners of the map with the purpose of drawing Legion to them.

Not only that, but someone on GameFAQs told them how they deal with Deep Wounds. They get hit by Legion, and if Legion switches targets, they mend to 99% and then hop on a gen.

They can get 1/3rd of that gen done before they can complete the mend. Because they're still in DW, they can't show up on Frenzy. The only way for Legion to catch them is to go back to the gen. But by that point, they can just crawl away.

I tried it, and it is VERY strong. It's the perfect example of how DW is laughable and doesn't stop anything whatsoever.

If DW is going to get so much counterplay and weaknesses because it CAN down Survivors, then they need to change the DW effect for something else. Preferably something that stops gens from being rushed.

The Frenzy movement and vaulting speeds needs to be reverted, even if Legion got a Frenzy duration buff to compensate (for some stupid reason) and the devs need to stop listening to rank 20s. And stop listening to themselves. (The devs are rank 20s as well.) They need to listen to the playerbase instead. But that will never happen.

Honestly, poor Legion needs a Freddy style complete rework.

He's still better than Trapper, Wraith, Clown, and I'd put Legion above Plag. Legion is an effective killer when the player pressures the map and keeps everyone holding M1 instead of on gens. I've seen some really good killers run Legion and do quite well. Then, I've seen the typical Legion player, who tunnels a target until they are down and can't see the forest through the trees. I literally sat, untouched, working a gen next to a looping Legion because they were too stubborn to break off and wound me. Not the devs fault there.

I only agree with Legion being above Wraith. A good Trapper can get you without you even knowing it. A Good Clown can kill your looping. Plague can make everyone a one shot and if they cleanse she gets long range, liquid hatchets basically. You saying "I've seen some really good killers run Legion..." only seems to underline that average players can't do good with Legion. Also, The guy getting looped and not breaking off was merely a bad PLAYER and not a factor in the discussion going on.

You also say that they are good when they pressure the map and keep everyone holding m1 instead of on gens. 15 seconds of mend won't give you much pressure, cause to get everyone Legion has to run off. With the nerf to the FF speed, most times you will never get all 4 or even 3 for that matter. Maybe 2. FF is only good if you DON'T EVER MISS and they are grouped up, and even then its not that good. You get slashed, hold m1 as Legion goes to try and catch someone else, go back to gen.

Bottom line: FF is way too easy to counter and gives no reward.

Side Note: Everyone loves Mr. Bing Bong.

Legion before the nerf was the ultimate griefer's killer. Now, he is just middle of the pack.

I don't feel he is anywhere near the middle of the pack. He's one of the worst. Let's be real, the Top 3 are LEAGUES better than rank 4. Legion is low low tier now. What proof do you have that he is in the middle?

Why are we discussing this now when you don't want old Legion back aswell? We both agree old Legion was bad for the game, topic done.

No, I said I don't want Old Legion back cause of the exploit. Also cause hating Legion is such a meme now, that bringing back Old Legion would drown us in salt. You said "He was an unhealthy killer for the game." and I want to know why. (Other than the Exploit of course)

Please, do not say something like its fact then turn around when asked for proof and suddenly not want to talk about it. ("No Counter Play." Is not a reason, its an excuse.)

Remember, this topic is about if you think Legion got nerfed too hard or not, and what could be done to fix it. Not "Bring back Old Legion BHVR! HoW DaRe YoU NeRf?!" (that was part was exactly made like that cause the upper case lower case thing makes the person look like an idiot.)
