I don't see them changing legion any time soon unless they get a huge backlash and constant complaints from players.

    Then we must keep complaining.

  • @Peanits

I'd honestly just really like an explanation or some kinda hope yall will do something for Legion. They need Deep Wound removed from there power and either a massive fix/buff or a Freddy level Rework.

  • Restart the game.

  • @aregularplayer said:

    another legion complain. nice

Yep, cause we are allowed to be upset that our favorite Killer who was weak before has been gutted and strung up in Town Square like a warning from the Mob. How about you have some empathy?

  • @Peasant said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/894398#Comment_894398

I'm not saying killers shouldn't get to play. Heck, I prefer to play killer. It's just that survivors bugs logistically effect more people.

I didn't say you said that. I'm just adding that in there.

  • @Hoodied said:

I feel like devs are nerfing legion now to give them a big as hell buff later, why would they change deep wounds like this if they didn't want to change him

You have alot more hope then I do at this point. I honestly hope you are right.

  • @Peasant said:

The reason folks get so huffy about survivor issues is because you need 4 survivors for a game vs 1 killer. So if bugs make survivors not want to play survivor, everyone suffers.

And yet you still need Killers to play.

I don't know where you got the impression that you're intimidating but you should probably lose it.

Whatever man. I'm not trying to be intimidating, I'm telling you to drop it. Have a good day. (and the Devs still don't care)

  • I'd love if someone on the Dev team or the Community managers or something would explain what they did to Legion and why. Or if they plan on fixing it. All i've seen is they want to "Avoid Knee Jerk Reactions" which sounds like "We are waiting for all of you to shut up cause we arn't changing it."

  • Yep. Seems about right.

This has absolutely nothing to do with morals lol. But nice attempt at an insult.

This is a waste of my time.

Then don't bring it up anymore.

Again. All or nothing. You didn't read or chose to ignore the exact point I was making.

So all of those people giving ideas and they didn't care about any of them or the feedback from PTB or the forum threads on here.... cause "All or nothing" Cause "They don't have to listen." Sure. They do not care. The very very VERY least they could do is explain to us WHY. But they wont. They are just waiting for us to shut up about it so they never have to worry about it again. Get off your moral high horse.

  • @brokedownpalace said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/893757#Comment_893757

I think your misconception is that it's all or nothing. The devs obviously care about feedback. They make adjustments based on it all the time. But just because a few people, or many, or a even majority, are calling for something to happen doesn't mean they need to make it happen. This isn't a democracy.

And everybody seems to think that their personal opinion and their personal subjective experience is the one truth. It's not.

Go look at my Legion threads and what they did to Legion. Then come back to me and say that.

  • Wonder why the gates can be 99%'ed as I just leave cause I don't want to BM the Killer.

  • @Raven014 said:

That Legion now is better than previous Legion.

The changes to the DW completely overshadow the speed changes. Seperate them, and they don't seem like a fair comparison. Legion being faster should be a good change, especially at the small cost of mending times...

...but mending is Legion's only stalling mechanism on the basekit. Sure, 20 seconds mending (maximum with both blades pre change) may have been a bit much, but those addons together abandon the utility of others, like the Sketchbook's extra range or the Iri button's information + utility. It sacrifices a better Legion for a gimmick. And this gimmick is what the Dev's used to justify this first change. That and they wanted to buff BT. Two weak reasons by themselves.

The second DW change is a bit more... reactionary... I'm of course referring to the DW timer not going down while running change. This is due to them not testing Nemesis or BOP with Legion. I thought it would be a wonderful addition. It would punish survivors for doing two things:

    1. Pallet stunning a frenzied Legion. This is already a bad idea since legion's stun from Frenzy is longer than a pallet stun. Nemesis just punishes them further. They fully deserve that countdown. Heck, right now, DW is worse than Pig's RBTs.
    2. Drawing out a chase with a Legion. It punishes survivors for giving Legion the Frenzy hit on them, then continuing to be chased for a long period of time... even though it's disadvantageous for them to wait out the timer. I get this isn't fun, but survivors keep wanting Legion Nerfed, even though they are terrible. Unfortunately, they need something to be better, and since you survivor mains all still want basekit to be bad, then Legion should get these perks as compensation. However, this is also a shadow buff to BT, since now their timer goes on forever if they keep running...

I know my opinion on these changes are... controversial... but I as a R1 P3 Legion know exactly how limited Legion is, and that survivor mains want to keep them that way.

Then you put these changes in context to higher ranks. The shorter mending time allows survivors to be on gens for longer, meaning more pressure for the Legion player, and it causing more problems for them in the long run.

I didn't mention the changes to on hit perks on Legion, but they're mainly small in scope. It means you can keep stacks if you Frenzy the Obsession with STBFL, but it was never the perfect perk for them anyway. Sure, you can't apply Third Seal or Sloppy on Frenzy hit, but you can still apply it with the second hit. It just means it takes slightly more time.... and makes the button changes relevant.

The button changes were meh to begin with. Blindness for Legion is worthless. Hemorhage on Legion is pointless since blood (like scratches) is removed from the map when they frenzy, and Broken has such a small impact that you'd be better with other addons.

Iri Button is still the best addon, with either ruler or Sketchbook addons. They buffed the Mischief list, but it so small a buff it doesn't matter. Same with Sketchbook but Sketchbook was good before. IDK why they nerfed Mural sketch, it's not a good addon to begin with...

Overall... Legion got hit hard because of beHavior's poor planning with the Oblivious perks.

TL:DR: The buffs to Legion's speed and addons are completely overshadowed by the DW changes and changes to his Frenzy hit categorization.

    Thank you.

The point is to make Legion eat a 4 second stun for no reason. The stalling potential is gone. The lethality is gone. Feral Frenzy is more of a detriment to Legion than survivors.

Deep Wound has always been Legion's problem. It has been made progressively more and more useless and more and more of an annoyance to the survivors rather than a threat. If you "down survivors" status effect is less threatening than being chased by the huntress with no hatchets, then you have a serious problem.

All of this i've been trying to tell the Devs for a while.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/109893/what-is-feral-frenzy-s-purpose-after-3-4-0

FF is not, and was NEVER intended to actually down survivors.

It’s a stalling power. The threat of going into the dying state is meant to FORCE survivors to waste time running somewhere they can hide and mend.

But survivors were exploiting the DW timer pausing within the TR to still do objectives UNTIL Legion left the area.

Now that DW isn’t tied to TR, and will ALWAYS deplete when doing ANYTHING other than running, survivors are now forced to run and hide somewhere and HAVE to mend. They can’t do a gen, or totem, or rescue, or chest first. They HAVE to mend.

As I told you in another post, this is even worse. You even agreed with me.

  • @TAG said:

Question to y'all: Have the devs fumbled with anything from a balance perspective as much as they have with Feral Frenzy?

No, cause they insist on keeping Deep Wounds on it.

  • The answer? Not a damn thing.

  • @Iceman said:

That’s true. I’m pretty sure at this point they just want to stay quiet on Legion and continue testing out things before they actually speak on what they are going to do with them.

Although as players we may feel that we have enough testing as it is since we play the game. They probably want to be sure.

I wouldn’t be surprised if one of the devs is thinking on how to approach Legion or revamp them.

In the mean time, I’m just enjoying the other killers that I like. Legion always has a place in my heart.

Beside their power being useless. I’m glad that we have the fast speed again in FF

"Stay quiet on Legion." Aka wait till we all shut up so they don't have to change anything.

I personally have 2 threads in feedback where everyone put there Legion ideas. They have A TON of feedback for what to do. Choices Galore! They don't care.

  • more like "tossed into a wood chipper"

  • That the Devs care about our feedback.

  • Firstly, Don't bump your own post or it will be deleted. Secondly, Have you not seen the Legion nerfs or the Oni nerfs or are you only looking at things that support your biased view? This feedback is flawed from the start, and not constructive.

  • Thank you for trying to get my post seen. It was a heck of a rant, but I still think it was 100% deserved. What they did made me stop playing the game completely. Nerfing not only one of the worst Killers in the game, but my favorite and the one that I have been fighting to get help for. It was simply too much and I lost all faith in BHVR for it.

  • Since they want to cremate Legion with burning them when they were already Dead.

Rework for Legion. The ashes of the Legion form together into one body. The Legion has the power to leave copies of themselves (A ashen version of the former Legion member) as traps. These traps set Survivors on fire, making them scream and lose a health state. Feral Frenzy is replaced with "Ashen Advance" Where the ashes flow into the Fog, speeding across the Trial to converge on the closest Survivor.

  • @Endstille said:

Maybe you should take a break from dbd, the forums and everything concerning it. Stop pulling yourself down when this is just so frustrating for you. You know like when you end a relationship, best medicine is to get it out of your head and not to hang around the ex the whole time.

Yeah... Though one last thing that popped into my head. Since they want to cremate Legion with burning them when they were already Dead.

  • Also the fact that you could get hit with FF, run to a totem, cleanse it, then mend in plenty of time? Oh and mend faster than it took to cleanse the totem.

  • Can I just point out again how nonsensical the Deep Wound change is? "Oh no, I got a wound and I'm bleeding out! Better run a marathon!"

Please read my response carefully. I have no problem with critique. But you can be respectful about it. Debasing people while expressing said critique is immature and harassing.

To other call outs, I spent a ton of hours on Legion since day 1. I am saddened by how the Legion was changed. I have cosplayed Susie because I love her character. But I can express my disappointment in fair terms. State what I don't like, suggest improvements, and then hope for the best.

But at the end of they day, you may be disapppointed. Raging that the solution is so simple or that you are not being heard are short sighted remarks that demonstrate a lack of understanding of the complexities of making a game.

You spent 8 dollars, a tiny drop in the bucket in the scheme of life, for entertainment. I have spent that on 45 minutes of DDR in the arcade and was happy. That people expect an indefinite amount of enjoyment, tailored to their demands for such a paltry sum is ridoculous.

Your life does not start and end with Dead By Daylight. But the devs lives greatly do. They are doing what they can with the talent and resources they have. If you feel they have a track record of disappointing you, you have no one to blame but yourself for being a glutton for punishment.

And yes, this is a horridly long rant, but I am so tired of the gaming community tearing down creators at every turn. Please be decent human beings. The world is in short supply these days.

Public Forum man. People are allowed to respond how they want. I agree with you that we should be somewhat respectful, but if i'm upset cause my favorite Killer was gutted and strung up in town square as a warning to the others, I'm gonna call them on ther Bullshit no matter how "Little" money i've put into the game. I've put in more than enough hours of my life to allow me to get upset and say what I think is horribly wrong.

I feel like theyre just avoiding all feedback considering the thread about bringing back survivor ranks has 154 upvotes like holy crap devs how blind are you to player feedback?

This one has a ton too. Like... I just hope they are busy or something...

  • @supersonic853 said:

I find it funny theyre ignoring feedback right now because they want people to give new legion a chance for a while. Yet i tried him and sure the speed is nice but it doesnt make up for the loss of perk synergy and mending. Like stbfl legion was amazing and dark devotion legion was niche since it depended on you getting the obssession.

I hate to say it but it feels like them "waiting to avoid Knee jerk reactions" is BS. Mostly cause they already nerf'ed Oni when he was released despite them saying they wanted him to "Settle in" first. Of course a Killer looks OP when no one knows how to handle them.

The main issue is they made Feral Frenzy useless for anything now. Legion is literally an M1 Killer in the truest sense of the word. They ignored all feedback that I and others collected for them. I had 2 threads that had EVERYTHING in there they could ever ask for... and it didn't matter.

That's understandable. I get that it feels really disheartening when you've been fighting for something like this for so long.

And then it just gets seemingly ignored and destroyed right in front of you with the body of your favorite Killer you've been fighting for strung up on your front porch like a warning from the Mob.

  • @Janick said:

Hello just to clarify your issues

    • They reduced his powermeter by at least 50%, map pressure is practical gone with that change. (-) We made no change to the power meter time. its still 45 sec.
    • Increased the time it takes to destroy pallets with his power. (-) This was a bug, there was clearly no animation playing.
    • I had the feeling they reduced the amount of dropped Orbs by Survivors, which in my opinion kinda cancels out the only buff he got. (-) Only when survivor vaulted, by 1 althoug you now gain 2 when hooking a Survivor.
    • They removed the AOE effect on power hits (-) There was never any AOE effect, not sure what you are referring to.
    • Because of the reduced powermeter, his addons got passively nerfed too. (-) We have not change much on addons, only those which were affecting the pick up penalty, since we removed the penalty we had to change those 2 addons, and the UR which showed the aura, the text mentioned 6 sec although it was in reality set to 4 in the system and we diminished it to 3 sec.

Hope that clarifies all your concerns.

    Thank you!

Can you message me about the Legion changes and explain them for me then?

Just because they haven't replied to it or given it a "BHVR read" doesn't mean they're ignoring it completely or haven't bothered to look at it. It's okay to be frustrated, but it's not fair to make assumptions like that without actually knowing what's going on.

Yeah. You are right. Just down about it is all.

  • Also, none of the Devs or any of the Community Leaders have bothered to look at this. 68 upvotes on the first post and they don't care.

  • Number 3 is my favorite, as it is something I suggested long ago.

  • The Former Fanatical Legion Main here to tell you...Go with the Blessing of The Legion. You are doing good work here with this well thought out post. To contribute, I'll give my favorite rework from my massive thread.

AND NOW for a REALLY good idea from @MongByeolBuddies

Here's my idea to help with, imo, Legion's two main problems:

    * For killers, that’s getting a second hit and downing the survivor.

    * For survivors, it's having to mend, which is boring and makes Legion obnoxious to go against.

My solution -- Change the Deep Wound status effect and give Legion a secondary power -- Mob Mentality.

    -------------------------

    Feral Frenzy:

Hitting a survivor not affected by the Deep Wound status effect during Feral Frenzy applies DW and gives Legion 1 charge of Mob Mentality.

Deep Wound now applies a 20 percent penalty to repair, healing and sabotage speeds.

Survivors now remove the DW status effect by healing to full health, not by mending. DW lasts indefinitely.

Hitting a survivor affected by DW during Feral Frenzy applies 1 more DW. Survivors suffering from 4 Deep Wounds will enter the dying state. This will be tracked on the HUD.

Legion cannot use Mob Mentality during Feral Frenzy.

Legion can have up to 3 charges of Mob Mentality at one time.

    ------------------------

    Mob Mentality:

Press the secondary power button to use 1 charge and summon a Legion member.

Any survivor within 16 meters of Legion will hear an audio cue -- a whistle -- when Mob Mentality is used.

The Legion member will appear 2 seconds later, crouched down in the spot you summoned him or her and wait for any survivor to get within range. When a survivor is within range, the Legion member will lunge at the survivor and attempt to hit them.

If a healthy survivor is hit, he or she will be injured; if an injured survivor is hit, he or she will enter the dying state.

Regardless of whether the hit connects, the Legion member will dissipate in a cloud of smoke.

Legion can summon all three other members this way. If Legion summons a member while all three members are currently on the map, the first member to be summoned will switch to the new location. Legion cannot summon members within 8 meters of another member.

Survivors within 16 meters of Legion members can detect them by looking in their direction for 3 seconds. During detection, survivors will receive an audio cue. Once fully detected, the Legion members will dissipate in a cloud of smoke.

If a survivor sets off a Mob Mentality trap, the Legion receives an audio and visual cue. If survivors fully detect a Legion member, the Legion does not receive an audio and visual cue.

Also, Mob Mentality is a trap so perks, such as Small Game, will work against it.

    ----------------------------------------------------

Add-on changes to reflect the new Deep Wound status effect and Mob Mentality:

Smiley Face Pin -- Start with 1 charge of Mob Mentality.

Defaced Smiley Pin -- Start with 1 charge of Mob Mentality. The auras of survivors who fully detect a Legion member or are hit by him or her are revealed for 3 seconds.

The Legion Pin -- Start with 2 charges of Mob Mentality. The auras of survivors who fully detect a Legion member or are hit by him or her are revealed for 5 seconds.

Nasty Blade -- Slightly increases the penalty to Repair, Healing and Sabotage speeds (5 percent) to survivors suffering from the Deep Wound status effect.

Filthy Blade -- Moderately increases the penalty to the Repair, Healing and Sabotage speeds (10 percent) to survivors suffering from the Deep Wound status effect.

Frank’s Mixed Tape -- Legion members are invisible to survivors outside of 8 meters.

Fuming Mixed Tape -- Legion no longer needs charges to use Mob Mentality. MM now has a 10-second cooldown. The Legion can no longer use Feral Frenzy.

    -----------------------------------------------------

This will allow Legion to still be a rush down killer and buffs them by providing them a tool -- Mob Mentality -- to counter looping, as well as set ambushes.

This new change also allows Legion to use Mob Mentality whenever Legion wants (albeit not in Feral Frenzy), and the survivor will only be aware that Legion has used MM if the survivor is within 16 meters of Legion when MM is used.

The change to the DW status effect also means survivors no longer have to worry about mending. Survivors suffering from DW can heal themselves back to full health slightly slower than normal or the survivor can find a teammate not suffering from DW to heal back to full health without any speed penalty -- making going against Legion more enjoyable for survivors.

(This also would get rid of a few not strictly Legion problems: Nurse’s Calling not detecting mending and other anti-healing perks not affecting mending, and killers who can drop their terror radiuses like Freddy and The Pig making the DW timer tick down while still chasing a survivor, which feels cheap.)

(Borrowed Time can be changed to something like: After unhooking a Survivor within the Killer's Terror Radius, for 11/13/15 seconds, any damage taken that would put the unhooked Survivor into the Dying State will instead apply the Deep Wound status effect.)

Plus, I think it would be awesome for Legion to actually play like, you know, a Legion! Lastly, if possible, it would be extremely cool if the teammates you summoned could wear any cosmetics you’ve acquired, making it so you could customize the look of your own Legion.

And now a variation of the above by @pemberley !

I propose that we take the same concept of Mob Mentality but instead the member seizes and holds the survivor in place for the player to stab. Every player in the map gets a scream notification, the killer sees the aura too. The grasp is inescapable except through other flashlight or cracker saves, if the survivor has a cracker themselves, or if the survivor “wiggles” like normal and claws at their hand or elbows them in the face - this would disable the trap, I think this would be more in line with Legion, it’s lore friendly, and probably won’t require as much code spaghetti as making accurate ai.

Which Mong added that the grab could give them either Exposed/Oblivious or both cause they are fighting out of the grab! Even if it didn't there are Add-on ideas that could do it!

  • Just remove Deep wounds from Legion if it's so darn hard to balance.

1 2 3 4 5 … 62
