As a Legion main, I feel like he's useless now. The mending takes 12 secs or 8 secs if someone is mending you, what? You can run to a generator being worked on and get mended in 8 seconds and then continue the generator.

Even the mending system changed, you won't go down if you run or mend. Run? ok.

So my petition is to rework Legion, because it feels like hes the worst killer in the game. Legion is going the same way as Freddy, being completely useless, but now (after a rework) hes one of the best killers in the game (Freddy).

A rework would be interesting on Legion because devs won't stop nerfing him.

I think they need one too. As one of the loudest voices on here in support of Legion getting help, Go with the Blessing of The Legion. I got a thread in Feedback if you want to look for it full of rework Ideas.

They need to start by removing Deep wounds from Feral Frenzy as well.

I'd give you my intro, but i just can't any more. @Pulsar can help you with that.

They need to remove Deep Wounds for a start. Give us something else. IT would be so much easier to balance.

He deserves a rework. A full rework at this point. Tbh, I don’t know why the doctor gets changes to make him stronger (more annoying) when he’s already strong in the hands of good players but the killers who are weaker than him get gutted..?

Priorities have been a bit out of wack lately.

I can understand where you’re coming from on this one. Sorry you have to go :(

They can still get my faith back. But they are gonna have to do something to show they are listening or care at all. I really don't feel they do anymore.

Just want to chime in here to say that as someone who game tested on a AAA title at one of the big three console makers, I doubt many people here actually understand the man hours and resources that go into making a game. Bug testing alone, even at the lowest level, is thousands per day, even with a small team, before you even add in administrative costs. And that's only one small department.

Furthermore, every company has varying skill sets and available resources. Not every painter is Van Gogh, but people should still be appreciated for the work and skill they put into their craft, even if they fall short. If I had to face the deluge of entitlement trash talk that happens to game developers about something I loved and worked hard at, I wouldn't be long for this world.

Please stop living your life through the game. Be respectful, critique, and if you are that unhappy, have the decency to move on. Or, if you're passionate, work towards becoming a game dev and being the change you want to see.

No one, and I mean NO ONE, has to sit and and take being ground into the dirt the way they are being here, or anywhere else in life for that matter.

Just become a game Dev 4head.

If we don't say something, how will they ever learn? How will they know its wrong?

Yeah, cause they don't need to heal because your power is non lethal, so why bother with it?

Yep. Just Run over to the other side of the map, get an unhook there if you want, mend, get on a gen. Who cares? oh, and if they come after you in non FF? Just loop them. There power won't help at all.

Me too, so many people say it lets you get more hits, and I have not seen this to be true. I haven't been playing because it bummed me out too much, but I've rarely seen two hits with the new speed boost let alone 3 or 4.

What's the point of getting more hits? You still have to M1 chase them down. You don't even get any stall any more.

  • @Nameless said:

Yesyes these are facts and while we’re at it, remove all pallets too!! I didn’t need to use those the last 3 games and still managed to pip and escape!

    Um... what?

  • It drives me crazy that anyone can see this as a buff.

  • @Yixuan said:

Okay, I am quoting from true here, he said something like killers should be considered with using addons, cause no addon 4k just means the survivors are bad. And if you think about it, many killers either have really weak addons or addons that just can not replace, like myer's faster stalk, billy's charge speed(?), wraith's windstorm, trapper's trapperbag, ghostface's recoveryspeed(?), doctor's shockrange, and now legion's pin. And for the other killers not listed, they do have a variety of viable addons, and some of them only helps if the player is great at the killer. I can confidently say if these addons listed are removed from that killer, it would be quite a heavy nerf for all of them.

You don't want to listen. I get it. It's nice to hold onto hope. Have fun in the Fog. It won't last long.

Oh and Tru3 doesn't know everything.

  • @wladimiiir said:

I have never cared about 4k in this game (well, when not counting 4k Challenges). All I care is to have fun while playing killer and Legion is still fun to play. After the latest patch even more and I have to say, it's definitely a buff for me and my playstyle.

Legion probably will not be top tier Killer, but that's a good thing as it could ruin fun factor playing as him. There are lot of killers you can play, so if you don't like Legion, just play different killer and leave him be, please. He's fine.

So fun doesn't equal good to you?

Let me tell you a fact. The only reason that Legion feels better to play now is that "Buff" to movement speed was a reverted nerf. Don't tell me to go play another Killer after they gutted and ripped my favorite apart. I refuse to play this game anymore, as BHVR has lost all faith from me with the Deep Wounds, mending, and Legion changes.

  • It made me uninstall the game.

Doesn’t that depend on players perspective on FF though?

Those still confused that they think they’re actually meant to achieve downs with FF are of course going to only see “nerf”

Those aware from the very beginning of Legions inception that FF was always meant to be a stall tool, and anti team work tool, are more likely to see that this iteration of Legion is more in line with the devs original vision (although there’s still some fine tuning required)

You know how long i've been playing Legion (in case you don't it's over 200 hours). My Point is it doesn't even get you a worth while stall. Doesn't help you in chase. Doesn't help you with anything. The power itself is more of a punishment right now. Feral Frenzy isnt meant to get downs, you are right about that.... But it's meant to do SOMETHING and right now it doesn't.

Legion is the easiest killer to pip as, if everyone escapes you will still pip sometimes, also they are solid bloodpoint machines.

Honestly this is true, other than I think if they all escape it will not be a pip.

It's like the killer wants the survivor to get away, pairing a missed hit with 4 seconds of blindness, and no track marks. The stun is honestly the worst part for me (though the lack of sloppy butcher is a close second).

Exactly. They have enough going against them that there power is literally a punishment to use.

  • @Yixuan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/892826#Comment_892826

Ok, so just a few things to point out. 60+mend+heal seconds of full thano is pretty good, and clown's addon does mangled for 2 minutes. Mend time isnt the issue here, you do not need to stab another survivor when they are broken, so no point getting a streak more than that. I know technically it is worse than plague, but legion has a way to traverse the map quicker and can gather intel when needed. If the survivors smack me with pallets while I get a hit or not, I will be more than happy because that is a pallet wasted, do you not? And I like it when every survivors are forced to be injured while they have wasted pallets trying to knock me out of my power, should be a piece of cake chasing them up except for some windows. I mean, I feel like he is relying on his pins heavily at the moment, but it is pretty good, almost exhaustion clown level I would say. It might just be my perk setups that helps me get multi stabs, and it might even be the meta soon. All I am saying is, I don't think this change is as bad as everyone thinks, maybe play a few more games with it and experiment with it, it's kind of too early to say anything at this moment, not even two days after the change.

You shouldn't be having to rely on the pins to make the power work. That right there should show you something is wrong. Once you run outa of pins, what will you do then? The smacking you with pallets thing was a quick thought I had for a counter, but they will think up better ones to leave you in the dust. Also Exhaustion Clown is bad. Clown is widely considered one of the worst Killers. I can assure you, that it will only go downhill.

I didn’t claim any of that.

I know some of the changes are simply reverts. But not tying DW to TR is a significant change. Survivors HAVE to waste time running somewhere safe to mend now. They can’t abuse the pause in the timer within TR to go “well I’ll just jump right back in that gen until Legion leaves”

My bad. Didn't mean to copy paste that. Not sure how I did that. Point still stands though, the overall weight of it was a heavy nerf.

I’m going to go against the status quo on here by saying I think these are the healthiest changes to Legion yet. No more abuse of Legions TR to ignore mending and just jump back on a gen UNTIL Legion leaves the area.

Sorry. I didnt even notice I copy pasted that XD i'll leave.

  • You are wrong. The speed buffs are a reverted nerf that was put on Legion for no reason. The Deep Wound changes with mending and sprinting pausing the timer both make any and all stall pointless. Legion feels better to play yes, but they are much much worse over all. The Pins might be nice but they only put it for 60 seconds while, for example, the Clown's gas puts it for 2 minutes. I like that you put "Btw I am a red rank Legion" with no proof. You make yourself look disingenuous from the start. You know, the meme of "Killer Main BTW".

Yes, you can hit people after vaulting pallets now. That will work right up till Survivors realize that and start to just smack you with the pallet, etc. OTZ got an 8 man Feral Frenzy spree... shouldn't that show you that mend times are way too low?

Don't be happy with these "Buffs" cause they are something. Don't be happy cause "At least it's better than nothing." That's not how this should work. I've played Legion for over 200 hours. This patch made me lose faith in BHVR and quit the game completely. I Wish you luck in your games, but I promise you they will only go down hill and you will be in the defiled grave right next to Legion's gutted corpse.

Exactly. Burned, buried, desecrated and forgotten.

  • @Broosmeister said:

Legion should have been deleted from the game straight after release. Legion needs a complete makeover, not changes in certain perks or changes in movement speed and mend timing and stuff. Just a complete rework, that's the only thing that can fix legion at this point.

    Legion Rework

Alright, so, at this point in time, I am becoming the fanatical Legion main. Unfortunately, our previous leader needed to take a break. That being said, I am typing this in hopes of the Devs responding, as it is a respectful and, hopefully, will-written paper.

To begin, Legion is a very interesting Killer. I love the design of him and the lore. Even gameplay wise, I love him. Unfortunately, Legion’s power is fundamentally poorly designed. There was little way for the Devs to see this at the time, though, now our hindsight is 20/20. My goal is to provide good feedback and suggestions while keeping true to the basis of the Legion. Feel free to comment and suggest ideas and point out where I’m being an idiot.

First off, Deep Wounds has to go. It can only be either extremely underpowered or extremely overpowered. It will never be fun for BOTH sides.

    • Feral Frenzy now applies the Frenzied Slashes (FS)

Frenzied Slashes is a new status affect. The numbers are purely experimental and are more of a proof of concept than a legitimate attempt to balance it. Please keep that in mind.

    • FS applies Hemorrhage and louder grunts until fully healed
    • FS applies a 2 second Exhaustion

Hemorrhage is for easier tracking, as are the louder grunts. Two seconds of Exhaustion is designed to regulate the Survivors perk use. This Legion specializes in the chase and stall. Therefore, his strongest point will be in the chase. It is only two seconds because to allow the Survivor to recover Exhaustion if the Legion makes a bad read and to quickly recover it when Legion leaves them alone.

    • FS applies a 3% repair debuff and a significant healing speed debuff. The repair speed debuff will stack until the Survivor fully heals.

The repair debuff is probably too low, however, I don’t want it to be oppressive. Everyone knows gens are very boring. As for the healing speed debuff, this applies only to your self-healing and your healing of others. It is NOT the Mangled status effect. You will still be healed at the same rate, unless the other Survivor has also been hit by FS.

    • FS will not down Survivors normally, however, if the Survivor has been hit by FS three times, and has not healed, they will go down. This is not designed to be a common thing, nor will it be efficient at all, as hitting a Survivor twice will still cancel your power. It will have a 3 second stun, similar to a pallet stun. No vision clouding.
    • It will have a 30 second recharge and will have a default length of 15 seconds, being extended everytime you hit a Survivor.

FS is meant as a purely stalling power, not to down Survivors normally, therefore, the stun will be reduced.

    • FS will recede when the Survivor heals one health state.

This is to discourage slugging early in the game when you need the gen pressure, while still leaving it viable in the late game

    • The speed of Legion’s power will remain the same as it is in the 3.4.0 patch.
    • Missing an attack will no longer remove your power, it will cancel it, but it will keep the charge it had when you missed.
    • Hitting a Survivor with a M1 will no longer drain the power at all.
    • Because of stacking issues, FS will not be a basic attack.

The speed of Legion’s power feels MUCH better in the 3.4.0 patch, therefore, it will be kept the same. Missing an attack is very easy with Legion, therefore, it will still punish bad players, but will not be so harsh on players who genuinely missed. The power drain on Live is ridiculous, however, I kept a small drain to prevent potential abuse and spam. FS cannot be a basic attack because of Mangled and other status affects.

This is what I have so far, feel free to suggest stuff and add-on to what I have, I can edit the post and type what you have into the document. Also, please be sure to point out where I sound like an idiot. I’ve tried to make this as a better version of the Dev’s original design for the Legion. A slash and dash Killer, if you will. This will be going in General Discussions as it is both a suggestion but I need people to contribute!

    Thank you all for reading!

Go with the Legion's Blessing. This is a good idea, and I enjoy the flavor. It's just as good as @MongByeolBuddies 's "Mob Mentality."

@Peanits Constructive ideas/feedback for legion without any negative connotations:

Here's a set of changes I've been asking for since the original nerfs:

Since Legion is all about the rush of stabbing multiple people, while in FF give him a stacking MS bonus for each survivor hit. This bonus would be lost at the end of FF.

The MS bonus would apply to vaulting pallets and windows as well. Something like a + 0.1 or + 0.2 bonus per survivor hit.

Yea, 5.4/6/8 looks like a lot, but when you consider the amount of time each survivor has to run while you're going after the first 1 or 2, it still gives them plenty of time to get away.

Second, no one wants to look at the ground for 4 seconds while they're fatigued, so I suggest a 1.3 second stun at the end. When you math speeds out for how far you can travel while fatigued vs how far survivors can get, a 1.3 second stun gives the exact same numbers as a 4 second slow down. The benefit of this is playing around windows and pallets, which is something legion is supposed to be good at anyway. To explain why it helps with those, here:

If I'm in FF and chasing a survivor, and they hop a window or pallet as ff wears off, I now have two options. Wait 4 seconds, then vault/break the pallet, or fatigue walk around it. With a 1.3 second stun, the survivors still have the exact same amount of time to gain the same ground in a straight line (straight line is relevant because it was the example you used last time this was talked about), but it allows legion to get back in the game quicker. Staring at the ground for 4 seconds through a blacked out screen isn't exactly "engaging gameplay" as you put it in regards to mending.

I think these two changes would go a long way towards making legion a realistic threat again, without having to deal with the exploits from before.

    Exactly.

We respond to as much as we can, but we aren't watching only the forums around the clock. Odds are if a post is disrespectful or outright insulting, it's not going to get a response. There's a fine line between constructive criticism and insults, and the latter is not how you have a conversation with another person.

As far as the basic attack change goes, it's the same as the Pig. It's to create consistency between powers so it's easier to understand what a basic attack is and what works with it. Previously, it was a bit of a mess. Something like Sloppy Butcher would work, but NOED would not. Both activated on basic attacks, but both were treated differently with Feral Frenzy. Not only is this less confusing for someone new to the game, but it also makes it much easier for us to balance.

As for mending, previously it was too easy to get stuck in an endless loop of mending (with mending times of up to 20 seconds). This left people mending most of the time which isn't exactly thrilling gameplay. There's no interaction between the killer and survivor there.

The movement speed, vault speed, and pin changes were all common requests.

Regardless, the changes have only been out for a little over a day at this point, so we'd like to see what kind of effect they have before making knee jerk reactions.

Cause that's some good feedback for how badly you guys gutted Legion, again. Having your favorite Killer gutted again isn't "engaging Game play" either. Yall made me quit. Just get rid of Deep Wound on Feral Frenzy and go from there! It would be so much easier to balance without nerfing the weakest Killer.... again.

Let me get this straight...you call me out for stereotyping but then go on to stereotype me as the type of person who won't listen to you. FYI, I'll listen to anyone as long as they have something insightful to say.

Okay cool. Then let's try and see if we can both get around this.

The Deep wound change made any and all stalling for Legion basically useless. They can run across map with no issue, work on a gen for a moment, then mend. Or they can just instantly start mending after being hit and even if the Legion stops and eats that stun, they can just run away with no penalty while Legion looks at there hands for 4 seconds. It would have been better to NOT lower mending times if this change was gonna be made, or revert the changes at least but no. We both have 8-12 seconds of "Stall" with RUNNING pausing the timer. Add to that Legion can't see Scratch Marks in FF or even blood, loses 50% of there power on a m1 hit, and lost all of there perks synergies with Feral Frenzy (Which removed EVEN MORE "STALL") and you have a Kilelr who's power is literally more punishing to use then not use.

I'm taking a break from this game, this has gotten me so depressed I can't even have fun playing Survivor or even the new Killer. If they were listening then they would know that we feel they aren't paying attention and that their design choices are flawed, so flawed it is obvious someone on the team shouldn't be working in this field.

We have complained for almost a year that the 4 second stun is too long and that was not even considered to be a change.

We have complained for almost a year that the Pin add-ons need to be on hit and they give us this mess we didn't ask for.

They aren't listening and I'm done playing until they fix their #########. When Legion gets fixed I'll be back, not even a new chapter will bring me back because they always do something stupid with the perks and nerf them to being useless; Cruel Confinement for example.

I'll probably stalk the forums though because there are cool people on here that I enjoy conversing with :) Until I get banned for something stupid.

This is exactly how I feel about it. I've lost all faith in BHVR. Till they do something to bring that back, i'm not giving them a single cent.

okay. How would you feel if as killer if a survivor stuns you with a pallet you have to sit there and hold m1 for 20+ seconds. Killer mains just don't understand that the game is boring enough for survivors already (hence the need to be toxic or even bully killers). What everyone needs to understand is that the asymmetrical aspect of this game needs to be acknowledged at all times. While it might be "balanced" if survivors had to sit on a gen for 2+ mins to finish it, it wouldn't be enjoyable. This is a video game that people play for fun, like with most video games. Loading screens are long enough. Survivor games should not have 10+ mins of loading screens embedded in them. I like their approach to the new killer, rewarding fast-paced gameplay and taking risks. I feel like this is what they wanted to try with Legion and although they messed up badly, it's not the fault of a game mechanic but rather how Legion's design is in direct counter with what the game was designed to play as. You make a good point and I like your creativity

You lost all credibility as soon as you said there was a "need" to be Toxic or bully Killers. There is NEVER A NEED TO BULLY ANYONE!

  • @Waffleyumboy said:

Deep Wounds were never meant to kill. They are just there to have survivors do before doing other objectives. Complaining about Deep Wounds debuff is like complaining about End Game Collapse because you thought it was more fun to bully the killer after all the gens are done.

Large part? You have numbers for this? Cause it sounds like some people think this is a buff, but we don't know that. Same with the number of people who think it is a nerf. Its some. You're making misleading statements.

I tried to point that out to them too.

I apologise in advance but I haven't got the time to read the whole thread, I've read OP and the first few pages though.

As a killer I play mostly Legion and Hag, my Legion build was PWYF, Ruin, Monitor, Pop - as add-ons I usually used the Button + longer FF (the green one). I played just a couple of games with the new Legion, so that's very early to reach any conclusions, but I can point out some first impressions.

First of all, I tried to switch PWYF with thana, and instead of Button I chose the pin which gives the broken status effect.

The increased speed in FF is convenient with sprint bursters, but not that effective to chain hits if survivors split up. However, the quick vault is huge - there's no looping them while in FF, exactly how it should be. Thana + broken effect did their job, mostly by keeping survivors on edge, but considering the 4 seconds stun after FF is over I still prefer to do a basic attack if I know a survivor is most likely alone. Here the lack of PWYF is felt strongly, which makes me wonder if I should try to use the perk anyway.

The mending speed, as expected, is a nerf which shouldn't have been made: just change the add-ons if those are the problem, ffs!

The Deep Wound timer instead is something I don't really care about - considering Devs didn't want Nemesis to synergies at all with Legion, the change doesn't matter at all; survivors were already able to mend without any issue.

However, if they didn't change the mending time, the DW change could have been an interesting buff - survivors could have been more easily found after switching targets: either they would have run around (leaving scratch marks), or they would have had to be stuck in place mending. We're stuck with what we have though, so there's that.

I will probably try to switch again thana with PWYF and see how it goes - I won't get tokens nearly as fast but maybe I could try to even it out by smart hitting the Obsession (that is: always only one basic hit for them). We'll see.

Thank you for testing this for me.

  • I was mentioned here. Just wanna say, Holy crap thats alot of good info. OP trust me, they know what they are talking about.

Well, I can't say that most of those ideas sound like they'd be a once-and-for-all fix for Legion's issues. Some of your proposed changes (Particularly many of the buffs to Deep Wounds and the rewards for hitting a Deep Wounded survivor) would give Legion the same problem they had before: Not being fun to play against. Others change their playstyle so drastically as to be unrecognizable. Other proposed changes actually appeared in the patch notes, but you seem to have overlooked them.

You've proposed all these different changes to DW, and in that thread, you complained about the fact that Survivors have no real pressure to mend and can just do gens so long as they stay in your terror radius. One of your first proposed changes is making it so the Deep Wounds timer ticks down if you do any actions other than mending, even while near the killer, so why are you complaining about it when DW now does exactly that?

The proposed changes I actually like (And which aren't already implemented) are increasing your movespeed as you chain more hits together, and reducing the punishment for missing a swing.

So they directly took your advice in several places. They buffed the pin add-ons, buffed FF's movespeed and vault speed, buffed the duration add-ons, and made Deep Wounds more urgent and threatening. So why are you complaining so vehemently, and claiming that the devs never listen to your feedback?

I would think that this thread would have a more positive or neutral tone. "I like X changes, I don't like Y changes, and I suggest Z changes for the next round of tweaks". Is that really so hard? Why go with outrage instead of a reasoned, constructive discussion?

You obviously didn't get the point I was trying to make. That's not all me. It's not just me trying to brainstorm ideas. There are alot of us. I'm upset for all of us. So, I suppose you are allowed to just view it through your eyes and your view, but I hate to tell you that you aren't the sole voice that decides things any more than me. They did take some of the very very general suggestions you pointed out sure, but they also tacked on so many nerfs it made it meaningless. Also the "Outrage" is coming from you basically accusing me of being arrogant and not having a spine to accept change. You tossing all this at me when you know nothing about me.

It was exactly this that caused my "Outrage"

"You seem to have this notion that the devs are obligated to act upon your feedback, and incorporate your ideas into their reworks. Trust me when I say: The sooner you let go of this notion, the better it will be for your mental health. When you don't get fussy just because the devs didn't do exactly what you wanted, you'll often be pleasantly surprised by what the devs managed to come up with.

Good game design is nowhere near as easy as it seems. It takes a lot of brainstorming, a lot of designing, a lot of iteration, and a lot of trial and error to create a well-designed game, mechanic, or character. There are a multitude of factors to consider before you implement any given mechanic or make any given change, many of which are not obvious to the player who actually uses and interacts with the mechanic. And after you're done brainstorming, you usually need to test again and again. Assess your changes and decide whether or not they're accomplishing what they're meant to accomplish, and if they make the game more fun to play. And you'll often have to go back to the drawing board many times before you get something that really works. When you don't do that and try to rush the process, you end up with messy games like Mass Effect Andromeda, and Anthem."

You accused me of wanting things exactly my way, and that I got fussy, like some little child, when I didn't get it. You even take the time to insult my intelligence. You do not know me, you do not know what i've been through in my 30+ years of life, so I would ask you to kindly not make judgments about me.

Let's agree to disagree again. Let's just drop this once and for all between me and you. It's going no where and frankly you are a chore to talk to.

Okay well, thank you for insulting in instantly and then suggesting I like Fortnite. How dare you suggest I like that trash. Also the rest of your "Mocking" couldn't be farther from what i believe. That being said, I do not wish to speak further to you.

The fact that they had to change the deep wound system once again because it caused problems with legion just proves legion needs a big rework tbh.

I like that they attempted to buff legion but they should have realized that these small buffs aren't really going to make any big difference and they don't justify the other nerfs they made.

Pretty disappointing patch overall. Filled with bandaid fixes and really questionable changes.

We agree, I think for one of the first times. Goes to show you how serious this issue is.

But the thing is, they buff Legion himself wich makes his power better, and there are only 3 perks that you could use, and they are not that great

Hello. I've played Legion for over 200 hours. This nerf made me leave the game and uninstall. I'm done and have no faith in BHVR.
