Again, it's information SWF already has. A buff has to actually provide a benefit for it to be considered a buff. It provides zero benefit to a SWF. I should know, given that I only play survivor as part of a SWF.
Okay, current situation. Survivors get a little icon when they are affected by XXX. Helps the solo but also the SWF, since they can tell their teammates, that XXX is in play, even before the other teammates come into contact with that perk.
So no, it doesn´t provide zero benefit to SWF.

The point is to bring solos up to the level of SWF, what they choose to do with the information is another matter entirely. The difference between an equally skilled four-man SWF and Four Solos is information. By giving solos the same level of information SWFs has, you bring solos up to the same level as SWF.

This community lacks the maturity for comms. I can't see it being anything but a bad thing.
Aaaand you also buff SWF with that information. Just like the little icons we currently have do right now.

Sounds about right.
You forgot skill checks and Prove Thyself. Maxing out Lightbringer points is usually the first thing that happens.

That... sounds like a bug.
Usually you should get a tier 1 (or higher) version of a perk, when you prestiged the charakter those perks belong to at least once. But downgrading a owned perk sounds like a bug.

Honestly at this point maybe they should. Do it how other games do - balance it around the whole team communicating with each other and make it clear that while you don't have to join in (I probably wouldn't) you're putting yourself at a disadvantage if you don't. Throw in ping systems and the like. It won't be the most atmospheric thing ever but there's no perfect solution really tbh
A action Wheel would be nice. Where survivors could ping out certain things. But still, the most effective thing is ingame voice chat.
-

By giving basekit perks like Kindred, and implementing action icons. It doesn't benefit SWF because they already have that information.
Kindred already gets ignored, when you equip it. Making it basekit wouldn´t change much in that regard.
Action icons is just the same as the icons survivors get, when they are affected by anything. Which already gives them more information, like that they are nearby a totem when Undying is active. Or that they are inside the killers terror radius before they can actually hear the hearbeat, when the killer has Unnerving or Overwhelming presence.
-
The issue is, how do you buff solo queue to SWF levels, without also buffing SWF? Every attempt to do so in the past. Has also buffed SWF.
Only way to bring both on the same level, is something the community is against: ingame voice chat.
-
Patch isn´t even 1 week old. Some people might not even be aware that the perks changed, because most people don´t visit the forum or read patch notes.

Well, this is what the killers wanted. Easy 4k's and no ways for survivors to help themselves (AKA the perk nerfs). Survivors are leaving or switching to killer, nobody wants to play a role where there's no chance of winning.
BT was buffed. WGLF now gives Endurance when picking someone up and DH still works.
But yes, there is no chance of winning if everyone suicides/disconnects for no reason at all.

I see your point but I believe you are a little bit off there.
Before the patch Survivor queue was instant and killer queue was long during daytime, it changed some time in the evening when the SWF’s started playing.
What does that tell you?
That people have jobs?

Intact compared to what it was a week ago? Not even close. Intact as in still usable? Barely. It's somewhat helped by the fact most killers, myself included, aren't expecting people to actually be running it all the time now. But even so, if the killer is paying any attention, you'll probably only get one use out of it, so the other exhaustion perks look stronger.
I think it could be buffed to .75 seconds without being broken. Really could've stayed at 1 second after they added the mend status negating endurance condition.
My point was, leaving broken perks available and asking nicely for them not to be used isn't effective.
But that's exactly what happened. DH was broken with no real counter before the patch. Now only skilled people use it successfully.

Although it's true that killer mains shouldn't be telling survivors about survivor experiences and what's actually ruining the game for them, I also think that people need to knock off the labeling the moment someone disagrees with you just to invalidate their opinion. Now I'm not saying this person did that because they did open up with admitting they're a killer main, however I've seen others, and even myself just the other day, get labeled as killer mains despite playing both sides fairly evenly (sometimes straight up survivor mains) JUST because we've had a different opinion on this patch.
I am personally Team "This Patch Isn't as Bad as People Say" and I've even been playing a TON of solo queue this patch. Yet, my opinion has been invalidated by others simply because my username and profile suggests killer main. (Which is ironic because the username actually comes from a survivor game I had but that's besides the point).
Yes! It's getting tiring fast. How a opinion completely gets invalidated because people say: "you're xxx main!"
Yesterday I've seen a streamer, who said that the survivor meta perks still work. Only to get tons of negative feedback, that he's a killer main, and that his opinion doesn't matter. He proceeded to show how the perks still work perfectly fine.

If thats true, it
- a) EXPLAINS A LOT
- b) very strange devs marketing strategy, as I think only 10% will play longer and it's becoming very pro dedicated game, more like DOTA and CS. 1200h is a HUGE amount of time.
The issue i see is, that survivors suicide for no reason at all. I continuously see this in solo queue, so i started playing killer with no slowdown perks, no camping/tunneling. Yet the survivors suicided on their first hook left n right. So it isn´t that the "slowdown buffs are to stronk" or "killers only camp now" or "survivor in unplayable because of the nerfs".

I cannot say exactly, but D/C was only 1 time and in about five matches people just give up and gone into tomfoolery. All others games: couldn't complain on my teammates (or I didn't see what happened beyound my view)
Fair enough.
-
Out of curiosity, in how many of those matches did your teammates play "normal"? Means not suiciding/disconnecting on first hook, actually doing gens instead of afking, and generally sabotaging the match?
-
Since we don´t know what the kill rates were before the patch... its hard to tell. But they are definetly artificially inflated due to all the survivors that dc/suicide or completely refuse to play the game.
Last match, a Demo slugged a teammate and went on to chase someone else. When i arrived after a good amount of time, he hadn´t even started to recover. DC on the next unhook. Its painful to watch, how some people actively sabotage their own matches.

That's the problem DBD always had. People think they are the ones who should balance the game for the Devs. Via "survivor rulebook" or now "nice killer rulebook". There are many people out there who don't give a ######### about other players fun. They will stack their 4 slowdowns and take the easy wins and feel good about themselves. Balancing means you have to take every possible loadout and playstyle into account. You can't just say "oh when the killers see they have easy matches now, they will go easy on the survs and have fun with them".
Yea some people will play "fun perks" and go for 12 hooks, the same as not every survivor before the patch was a DH/DS/UB/BT playiing scumbag who t-bagged in the exit gates. But many won't, as there were many survivor swf's who played with 4x DH+DS before the patch.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3087277#Comment_3087277
If you play like before the patch the games are much easier now. That's just a fact. Not saying it's impossible to lose, i mean it shouldn't. A good team should still beat you. Taking a lose is part playing games. But in general playing killer is much more chill and you have much more second chances now after making mistakes.
Thats where the MMR eventually kicks in and the stomping players suddenly face skilled players that aren´t stomped easily.
-
@Pulsar said:

I do not believe that the ability for one player to completely deny another the ability to play the game is healthy design.
I don't care if a coordinated team can beat it. This sucks for everyone involved and is clearly designed to ruin other players experiences.
True. But playing like this gets boring quickly. So they´re are not masses of Bubbas playing like that.

I have yet to see a single person in my games hit them reliably.
It's especially difficult when you aren't expecting them.
The Jolt ones surprise me and i sometimes fail those. But the Overcharge ones are to be expected when repairing a regressing gen.

In the hands of a good player?
Sprint Burst or Dead Hard.
In the hands of an average player?
Overcome or Lithe.
^ this answer here can be locked.
I´ve seen streamers get some juice out of DH and DS. So the old meta isn´t really dead. But requires some actual skill.
Not so skilled players are problably advised to switch DH for Overcome. Its fair to assume that the devs predicted this, since there is a Overcome challenge in the archives.
-
Amateur Bubba. Hitting the hooked survivor just gives everyone the notification that he´s there. So they complete 3 gens before he enters struggle phase. They should have continued to do gens and it might have ended in a 2-3 man escape.
-
@Pulsar said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3087250#Comment_3087250
True, however, most players can't hit an Overcharge skillcheck. That's another 15% regression on top of whatever you already had.
If Overcharge and Call of Brine brings a gen from 99 down to 80, it's not a huge deal, you're totally right. However, the failed skillcheck will knock it down even more after that, which is a big deal AND it tells the Killer that someone touched the gen which allows them to apply another Overcharge to it.
I foresee Overcharge getting a cooldown soon.
Really? Maybe its just me, because i´m used to hitting great skill checks from the old ruin. But i don´t find the Overcharge skill checks particularly hard to hit. Only on Doctor they are... tough.

I'm not kidding you, I'm testing the extremes. I took off my perks and played wraith, I killed them all at 5 gens. No perks, no addons. They did have a gen 99 though that almost finished, but that was it.
I'm not saying every game is going to be like this, but still... something is not right.
I noticed in some of my matches that my teammates don´t do gens at all. Almost like they are allergic to gens. In others they plain out sabotaged the game by suiciding on the first hook.
-

But most of people loves to use strongest perks on both sides. And actually everyone cares about their own fun.
I never saw 4 Man SWF started to be easy while i had 2 hooks and lost 4 gens.
Or i never saw any Nurse (i am giving her for an example, this can be true for all killers) took game a bit chill and let us finish some gens while 3 people dead on hook at 5 gens.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3087240#Comment_3087240
You are complaining about easy games? If games feels so easy for you, change your game style and perks. If you are not gonna do that, why you are complaining about easy games? Weird.
I usually go easy on survivors when i notice that they have lower skill. Go for 8 hooks and then depending on how many gens are left, i slug instead of killing until only 1 gen is left. Giving both the chance to escape while also giving everyone the possibility to earn bloodpoints.
But sometimes i regret that decision afterwards, when i go soft, 1 escapes via hatch and they start to call me names, despite not tunneling or camping them. It sometimes feels like some survivors "want" to get camped and tunneled or something like that.
Anyway, right now is a good moment to play around with new perk variations. Like no slowdown at all, but full aura reading.

Thanks for that!
So unless used together, they don't seem to knock off much time unless you let them regress for awhile.
I guess that's good for me to know as a Rookie Spirit user :D
No problem. Even the Overcharge + Call or Brine combo isn´t as oppresive as people claim. But people overreact when they hear 300% regression, without realizing, that normal regression is 25% the speed of a single survivor.
-
Perks > Skill.
A hard truth, many people are starting to realize now. Now that the old meta perks require some actual skill and people without it fail hard.
Anyway, now is a great moment to test new perks and play wacky loadouts to have fun and find a new meta.
-
Is this a new trend? Killers complaining about easy matches?
Maybe switch your loadout and go a little easier, so everyone has some fun. Just saying.
-
Can you make a video about that? Cause yesterday i had a match against a Jolt + Overcharge Mendslinger and the regression didn´t continue.

I was honestly to lazy (just as I am right now) to search the correct term for the boost.
-
Correct. There was a streamer who took the time to compare all regression perks side by side. Long story short, survivors would have to leave the gens untouched for several minutes so those perks actually do something.
-
They removed the only incentive to leave the hook.
Take a wild guess what increased.

I have no idea what the point of removing the BP bonus was. It's just so stupidly random that they put their heads together and thought: "Hmm.. healthy perk that encourage Killers to leave the hook. But it's popular! Look how many Killers leave the hook! Must take the incentive for this away".
In what world does that compute?
Exactly! It made absolutely no sense.
Sure, there were killers that camped despite BBQ. But most killers just wanted to get their stacks. Without it, there is simply no incentive to leave the hook and go for someone else.
-
That progress being "instant" vanished sounds interesting. Lets take a look at the numbers.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGtF_5jH8ww&ab_channel=Choy -
Most of the time survivors were either throwing the game (hardly getting more than one gen done) or the killer was playing dirty from the very first moment. Camping and tunneling were especially rampant, even on high tier killers like Nurse and Spirit."Most of the time" sounds like the big issue here. People like me have been warning, that the removal of the BBQ bloodpoint bonus would increase camping. But most people ignored it. Claiming, that killers cant camp more.
Now thats the result.

This whole post makes no sense, calling out someone for something without any relevance, or point to it?
95% of players dont even know these forums exist, yet they are subjected to some weird gotcha posts because they play how they like and have open profile?
At best its just taking random game experience and making it into Us vs Them in here, which is getting very toxic after the update, no need more
Isn´t that what i said?
Anyway, everyone is free to play how and what they want. I just dislike the hypocrites that claim one thing while doing another and let me tell you, i´ve seen my fair share of those people on this game.
