And in 2500 hours you believe this game is not only relatively healthy but this update that absolutely destroyed it on survivor side is a good thing?
Before the patch, the game was as survivor sided as it gets. That had to change for the better of the game. It simply wasn't healthy.

This is not bias anymore, this is some next lvl delusional comment...
Yeah just 0.5%. How about we ignore the tons of complaints that were already there after legions rework, and the extra added gen time, the faster m1 cooldown, the faster breaking pallets, decreased survivor sprint length, nerfed endurance stacking, nerfed DH (which was a HUGE legion counter).
but yeah.... its just the 0.5% that got people rolling.
unbelievable.
People don't complain about all those things. They just complain about the thana buff and that it's OP. Everything else is supposed to increase kill rates, since the devs stated that those are below expectations.

its not thano that is the problem, it is bc they run 3 slowdowns, the games all feel like forever freddy games
What 3 slowdowns? Nothing is as effective as Pop was before the nerf. Then the matches could take forever.

I genuinely can't understand what point you're trying to make here. Bad gen points compared to other actions survs can be doing was always an issue and doing bones is less important than ever between NOED announcing its location (and being way less attractive to run) and Pentimento seeing a surge in use.
Plus splitting up on gens is still the best thing to do until the lategame.
Just explained how you can max out points doing both things. Since it looked like you cared about that.

The Legion rework was just a couple of months ago and there was much wailing and crying about Legion and Thanatophobia back then, even with 20% Thanatophobia, 80 second generators, and old Dead Hard working with Deep Wound.
Did you already forget all about that mess?
People complained simply, because they were matched only against Legion during a week. That dropped off quickly though.

That's what I'm saying! People just blanket statement "the gens take WAY too long, bro." They're getting scared by looking at the numbers, and just like they were with pre-nerf Overcharge, they aren't understanding how insignificant those numbers are.
Oh nevermind then. Yeah, people got scared by the Overcharge + CoB numbers of 500% gen regression without realizing that the repair speed of a single survivor is 400%.

115 seconds with 4 stacks of Thana vs 100 pre update is a huge buff. Doesn't matter if it's baked into the base gen speed or Thana. The combination is way stronger than it was before.
Thats why it was probably only buffed by 0,5% and not a meaningful amount.

The 50 overall seconds of the 90-second gens. People say, "but you didn't factor in slowdown, so it's actually longer." We didn't factor that in before, so why start now?
But thats not 50 seconds. Its 4 survivors. Not a single one who has to do all 5 gens alone.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/337551/soloq-experience-is-so-much-fun-now
I feel the same as you. My Solo Q (and Killer) experience has improved since the patch. A lot of people here in the forum just get mad quickly because you don't join in their tearful singing 😂 Of course I still have teammates with a gen aversion, but significantly fewer than before. The ruin nerf has made people more likely to stick with the gen and not waste time looking for a hex totem. DMS + PR is also gone.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3095500#Comment_3095500
You are not alone. But the voices of those who don't complain are quieter. Exactly, Solo Q isn't nearly as bad as many people make it out to be. It's mostly your mates that can ruin the game. In my case it always depends on the time when I play Solo Q. Between 5pm and 8pm there are many good solo players online. However, after 8pm most people are playing in a SWF or only those that no one wants to play with are left 😂
My last match. 3 spawn at the same location. 2 of us start the gen next to the spawn and the 3rd one was afk. Of course, Huntress came checking where the afk crow notification came from. The moment he was downed he disconnected.
Fun times!

But the most important one

@Marigoria said:

almost like that's applied to 90seconds now and not 80.
Yeah about that... The 0,5% difference between 80 seconds and 90 seconds is... drumroll a whooping 0,45 second increase.
If all 4 survivors are injured and everyone stays on his own gen then the total increase from the 0,5% buff is: 3,8 seconds.
-
@danielmaster87 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3095547#Comment_3095547
Yep, and the match lasting a minute longer because of the gens? That was just too far.
Where did you get that minute from?
-
@Laluzi said:
More than that, it's pretty stupid how doing a gen for 90s gets you 1250 points, but doing a totem for 14 seconds gets you 1000 points or 1500 points depending on cleansing/booning and whether it's a hex, and saving someone is another interaction that generally doesn't take you more than 20 seconds and nets you 1500 points. Gens are rewarding enough with teammates, but solo gen points could definitely stand to be improved, because they weren't proportionately rewarding even before the update made them take longer.
Just more reasons to finally do bones. For real, it wasn´t a issue to ignore bones when gens took 80 seconds. But now it suddenly is?
Take Prove Thyself, do gens in coop and watch how you max out those gen points in 1 1/2 gens. Even faster if you hit great skill checks.

Wow! Survivors had chill matches? I missed that completely. I have music on constanly, but turn it off only for Spirit (for obvious reasons) and survivor. As I mentioned before, I got past first 100 sacrifices and didn't know about lunge attack yet. But for survivor I had watch tons of tutorials, train jukes, loops, remember all map layouts. When I went for rank 1 for 6 months, I had really prepare myself (sleep well, be fresh, warmed up, etc), it was battle to death with shaking hands, even before patch. I don't remember getting 0K more than 10 times in my whole time (before patch). And I don't remember a single match that caused frustration. For survivor it's like 30% of matches where you want smack you monitor.
I think more accurate would be that killers now can have lots of chill matches like they are on a brand new account.
I'm starting to believe I'm the only one who didn't suffer from prepatch DH (Iron Will and Spine Chill were problem to me), and never used DH myself...
Screenshot from my first gameplay as Bubba few years back. Now it feels the same.

That's all well and good, but last we saw, there was a 55% kill rate. Whatever the devs want isn't necessarily the definition of balance.
We haven´t had official kill rates in over half a year. Its fair to assume, that the kill rates dropped significantly.

Exactly what happened around 2017-18 when the game almost died. The devs listened and the game survived.
You mean the Freddy release? Where everyone disconnected against him, that we ended up with the dc penalty system?
-
@Gladonos said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3090154#Comment_3090154
No, I want balance. Not overpowered kill rates like currently. Nice strawman.
This patch was a step into the right direction. Survivors feel finally how killers have been feeling for years and they don´t like it. Throwing a fit about it and sabotaging the game for everyone else by suiciding/disconnecting won´t change the devs mind. Because they´ve learned from the past, how our community reacted to unpopular changes.
Now survivors can´t have a chill match, where they hear music or chat with others. They have to focus on the match. That isn´t a bad thing.

Your argument was basically "the patch was a huge success because players are increasing"... which isn't true if you look at the stats and interpret them. There was an anniversary event and the biggest patch since years. Since last tuesday (start of the patch) the amount of players has slowly regressed (not by much though, but we will have to wait 1 month until we can interpret things correctly and see where DBD is heading).
DBD has a huge followership and of course a lot of veterans are coming back and testing things, so of course the numbers increased first, and the playerbase will not go down immediately 1 day after the patch. But it also hasn't increased since last Tuesday like you said.
But it still increased if you look at the stats from 2 weeks ago. You can´t claim, that the patch drove people away, when more people play now than before the patch.

I'm not saying that survivors don't try hard to win, or that it's ever been a mindless role by any means.
I'm just trying to say that many of the things that were fun about survivor are slowly being removed and replaced by unfun mechanics that affect everyone but the most try hard swfs. Why would any new player want to pick up the game now that it is so unbalanced?
Welcome to how killer felt over the past years. Survivor was always the (as you said, casual) chill role. Where one could play without paying attention. While chatting, hearing music, etc.
This changed and it was a necessary change.

Can you change the title to "how to win 99% of matches against afk survivors", please?
I know this is satire. Or at least i hope that it is. Biggest issue right now is still the survivors that simply give up. Camping&tunneling wouldn´t be as strong, if there wasn´t someone giving up:
Every
Single
Match

It's not an exaggeration. Those are the literal numbers it comes out to. Especially for killers like legion or plague. Legion can now win just out of attrition more then skill. Instead of denying plagues power. Which is her counter. You basically are forced to give her an extremely strong power. Or sit on gens for the equivalent of over 9 minutes.
Most of those matches if not all were normal. While I dont like to really praise myself. I'm a damn good killer. These POVS are coming from a killer side, and what it's like facing someone like me.
I don't think survivors have much chance with the current slowdowns, AND added chase buffs. I can literally hit you with STBFL and end the chase before it gets started with slinger. I'm already in shred range after the hit with demo. I can instantly throw bottles as clown and you won't even make it to a loop. Let alone gens were already hard to finish against my nurse or blight. It's just all the more miserable for people.
I really don't think any changes I suggested are unreasonable
Haven´t faced a single Plague since the patch was released. Exactly 2 Legions, with questionable teammates, that wouldn´t have made a difference, even if the killer was afk. I´ve faced a lot of Nurses and Blights though. Maybe the mmr is catching up. Maybe i´m just lucky. Who knows.
All i know is, that i can play without slowdown perks, camping or tunneling and survivors still dc/suicide on first hook. Oh and i´m not playing Legion or Plague...

Have YOU looked at the stats? Compare them to the playercount before the patch was released. 2 Weeks ago, player count peaked each day around 44 and 46k players. Since the patch was released, we have between 48 and 51k players daily. Thats an increase.

Against bad killers baseline BT is useless, off the record is probably the only buff survivors got and you need to have it and run it to benefit from it. But, then there comes the dilemma that good killers have to face, do you let the person with OTR go or do you hit them to prevent them from getting a protection hit later on. And then, since you have already hit them why not just continue tunneling since you know they are out of things, DS is all but useless. You start to realize that the only buff survivors got, encourages tunneling.
Honestly, i think the "base BT" should be a different status effect. That doesn´t stack with BT or OtR. So those perks were still effective after the initial hit right off the hook. It would be a good middle way. DS should (and probably will) go back to 5 seconds. Since its timer went up and down several times over the years.
-
@BrokenSouI said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3092674#Comment_3092674
Yes those are extremes. I was just using them for fun. To show the differences in times alone.
It's a combination of everything though. Its not JUST that gens take 50 more seconds to get done. That was already a hard task to do against me. It's that chasing is now faster and easier then ever. Which means once the snowball starts. There's no recovering from it. I've lost one match since the update, and it was still a 2k. That shouldn't be. No matter how good I may or may not be
So you were just exagerating?
How many of those matches, the survivors played normal?
-
@Biscuits said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3092905#Comment_3092905
You realize the patch is less than 2 weeks old and were already having killer queue problems, what do you think is going to happen as time goes on? You think less people are going to give up when they finish grading up this month?
Survivors didn't get the short end of the stick, solo survivors did. And unfortunately for BHVR most of the player base falls into that category. And they didn't just get the stick they got a whole tree falling on top of them.
Exactly. The patch is 1 week old. People are starting (with exceptions) to play normal again. So i really don´t see the issue here. Even more, in 1 month, the bonus bloodpoint thingy will be back. Which alleviates any queues for both sides.
Do you have any source on the devs specifically targeting solo survivors or solos being most of the playerbase?
-
@Biscuits said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3092893#Comment_3092893
You think no one wanting to play survivor is a success? People are just imagining the killer queues?
Killer queues aren´t longer than what survivor queues have been before the patch. So, despite people ruin other peoples matches. There still is a healthy playerbase, that wants to play survivor. Only thing that can ruin this is, well the people that suicide/disconnect/afk/sabotage the game, because they didn´t like that for once, survivors got the short end of the stick.

Im very happy that with a single hit off hook. I can delete Base BT + BT buffed + OTR buffed.
I actually agree. The "base BT" should be a different status, thats not affected by BT or OtR. Stacking those on the PTB was just insane. Not stacking them also is counterproductive. But giving it a different status effect, that protects from a instant down sounds like a good middle way.

The 5 seconds of endurance and haste just don't do anything way too often. Bad counter. Bt is nice, so is off the record, but in the flip side, DS has been overnerfed hard, it needs its 5 second stun duration back. And those are still just perks you are forced to use to have some sort of protection against tunneking killers.
And camping actually got buffed.
I also hope they don't nerf the gen times back to 80 seconds, but some slowdown perks at the moment are just still too much. They nerfed the meta slowdown perks, which is good, but there are still some problematic slowdown perks, especially thana at the moment.
The 5 seconds of Endurance is better than nothing. It combines well with BT or OtR. I agree on giving DS its 5 seconds back. Will probably happen in a future update, since DS stun time has gone up and down over the years.
Thana isn´t as problematic as everyone claims. Its only useful on Legion and Plague.

Just discovered in my last match how strong it is. Now i´ll prepare to run it with Q&Q and trying to figure out the last perk to run with this.
