  • Wouldn´t you prefer to play like this?

nod... but generator simulator is boring.  as I said things happen, but shouldn't happen 2 full games in a row.  I think the killer was watching at the end of game 1 as they readied up quick enough to get me in the next match.. and they readied up in that lobby as well.

Then why do survivors gen rush almost every match?
    I´ll never understand this.

  • Why do you want a x3 weekend if 90% of the player base either gen rushes or moris the first survivor?

I should have been more specific.  Going afk doesn't bother me.  Going afk when the match starts and staying afk bothers me.   Played 5 matches yesterday and 2 in a row had the same killer who doesn't move the entire match.

Unless it´s Freddy, you can still get chase points by running in front of him.

I don't see why it would be. Just finish the gens and leave. I've gone AFK before as a killer for some random reason (my dogs acting up, getting sick, someone at the door, etc) and I figure it's better than DCing the game and costing people points.

I agree. I often have to leave to attend the door. Happens both as survivor and killer. Usually i´m dead as survivor, but sometimes im lucky.

  • So... would you prefer to get Insidious basement camped by Leatherface?

  • NO!
I still remember those matches, where i couldn´t see anything at all.
    Not enjoyable.

  • The biggest problems on Freddy are:

    • 7 second wait where survivors can finish what they are doing
    • waking up is to easy. It should only work by hitting a perfect skill check. This would also allow him to use perks that alter the skill checks.
    • his vision is simply to dark. On Crotus Penn i can´t enter the building or i´ll lose them.
    • his ultra rare add-ons need a rework. The 5% speed malus is to much for a chase and 1 survivor starts sleeping (That´s ultra rare??)
    • his lullaby should be affected by terror radius perks and add-ons
    • he should be able to interrupt (grab) survivors that are holding m1 to fill a progress bar (totems, repair, healing, etc.)

10 out of 12 killers need buffs.

  • What rank are you? If you are low rank killer its probably because every survivor main started playing killer.
I´m at rank 3. I get instant lobbies as killer.

  • Survivors switched to killer to get more points for the event. Since they usually don´t play killer, they are overflooding the low ranks.
I get insta lobbies as rank 4 killer.

Sinse they get done with about 2-3 gens each game, more objectives would slow that down even more.
And I would have a ez time playing The Nurse.

And I would finally have a Leatherface match that goes well.

3 survivors vs 1 killer would never work.

When 1 survivor is on the hook, it means no one or 1 survivors are doing gens. 5 gens for 1 survivor to do is a long time, which translates into the killer will have plenty of the time to kill everyone and escape will be impossible.

The logic is that while 1 survivor is on the hook, 1 other or both will go for the save, leaving no one or 1 to do gens. With how short the chases are nowadays, even at rank 1, it's mandatory that someone is doing gens at all times to have a chance at escaping.

edit: Actually my theory is flawed because I didn't add BBQ and Chillii into the equation. As soon as hook happens another chase begins, so no one is doing gens, since the other guy goes for the save. By the time they heal and go back to gen another hook happens.

Fact is that if I am versing competent and aurvivor and one of them DCS in the beginning, then it is usually a lot of fun and it's jot like the survivors don't have a chance.
I even had a 1vs2 once where one guy was so good at looping that I didn't get a single kill (yes there are enough pallets for that)

I´ve had enough of those matches as both survivor and killer. And they usually last longer and give more BPs than the standard matches. They are also more fun. That´s why i proposed the whole thing.

It's pretty rare to win a 3v1 as survivors.

I'm sure it's fun for players to be able to dominate and feel good about winning in a game of whack-a-mole, but for balancing or actually making the game better, let's not.

I'm sure those killers would be just as happy with an AI mode. God knows the game queue would be bad enough if a chunk of survivors stopped playing.

Been playing since 2016. The only time i experienced a 45+ minute que, was when David King was released. Everyone stopped playing killer. All played survivor.
Killers only have 5 minute queues, when a new killer is relased and survivor mains want to play the killer in ranked for whatever reason.

The game has been survivor sided for 2 years now. The upcoming changes are a beginning, but i don´t expect that they are game changing.

  • So what are your thoughts on balancing after reaching Rank 1?

Survivors op, only 2 viable killers and gens get done to fast.
  • Just punish disconnecting with an extra bloodpoint and iridescent shard fee.
Let's say 500.000 BPs and 1000 shards if someone disconnects 3 times in 6 matches.
    Problem solved.

  • Perma bans are not the solution. But making them lose additional bloodpoints and iridescent shards, might work.
  • Survivors are beating the purpose of BBQ.
Don't complain if the killer camps with BBQ.

Great idea! I find the next survivor and he also loops me for 2 minutes.

Then i switch targed for the third time, ignoring the other 2 loopers and ohh no, he also loops...

Maybe i´m more lucky with the last survi... ohh gates are powered and they escaped.

    "gg ez"

I mean that definitely sounds frustrating but at the same time, maybe you just have to get better? I'm not trying to 'git gud' you, because that's stupid and obnoxious, but if your strategy isn't working maybe it's time to try another strategy instead of waiting for the game to change. Lots of people reach rank 1 as a killer the way it is right now.

Those people reached rank 1 with Billy or Nurse.
Then survivors complain that they only encounter those killers on high ranks.

Have you tried killer yourself? Because "that definitely sounds frustrating" sounds like you haven't experienced this yourself.

I'm trying to reach rank 1 with Freddy. Which is hard mode.

I split my time 50-50 killer survivor, so yes I have tried it. However, I don't play a ton and I don't go above rank 10 (intentionally). I agree that it's stupid that some killers are much more buffed than others. I don't think the solution is 1 vs. 3. I think you're interpreting the fact that my rank doesn't bother me as me not playing, but that's not true. It just doesn't bother me.

And you're right-- that is hard mode. You also chose that, you don't have to use Freddy to rank up. Anyway, aside from that, they're buffing him soon? So it seems like that problem in particular is being worked on.

I strongly recommend you to try to rank up to 1 on both sides. You'll understand my proposal. Playing on rank 10 is nothing like playing on rank 1.
  • "A 3vs1 is an actual enjoyable experience for the killer."

and you think it is enjoyable for the survivors, who are a man down with no generators completed to compensate?

3v1 isn't balanced, no matter how you look at it. If you really only have fun games when the survivors are at a severe disadvantage, maybe killer isn't the experience for you.

But the game in his actual state is balanced?
Come on, everyone knows that the game is terribly balanced towards survivors.
The 4 survivors, 5 gens thing is outdated. It was a good mechanic, as long as survivors didn't knew how to hit every perfect skill check. Or how to waste the killers time for ages. The only 2 viable killers on high ranks, are bypassing either looping or cut down the chase, by 1 hitting.
  • @Kuris said:
You're right, it also doesn't take into account that they could have DS. Or that they could get flashlight saved. Oh, and they ONLY used 3 pallets. And didn't use the killer shack pallet because they messed up in my scenario. what if they didn't?

Oh, and yes, at high ranks, survivors will follow that formula, and they will be less likely to creep away from a Gen when they can clearly see the killer is occupied.

ALSO, I did forget it can take less than 80 seconds, maybe one has a brown toolbox with addons, marginally faster. Maybe another hits all great skill checks, thats even faster.

I 100% guarantee you, anything I missed on the survivors side of things, can be made up for again.

Hahah, okay. Not even going to bother trying to have this conversation with you, as you're obviously set on your opinion and nothing is going to make you reconsider.

But @Kuris is right. The killer doesn't have enough time on high ranks. If a survivor isn't chased, he's doing gens. With how ridiculously fast they go, there is not enough time to hook everyone twice and then kill. This leads to camping and tunnel on high ranks. To reduce the amount of players asap.

It gives the killer some more breathing room, and we all know he needs this.

It would definitely be interesting to see. I doubt they'll ever have it in game though. I'd imagine a lot more Killers would play against SWF's too knowing there is only three survivors instead of four. Less stress. That one survivor makes a huge difference imo.

I recently started playing Killer, loaded in the other day and a Survivor D/C'd straight away. Instantly I felt like a lot of weight was took off my shoulders. Felt a lot more relaxed and as if I could enjoy myself more.

Maybe turn it into the SWF mode or something. Either this or they need additional objectives that are mandatory. Not what we have right now with totems.

Currently playing at rank 5 and ruin is gone within the first 30 seconds in 4 out of 5 games. Then the gens just melt like nothing.

Yeah, that would actually work really well tbh. Having it be an exclusive SWF mode. SWF's have the advantage already as they can share information over discord etc so putting them down to three survivors instead of four would work perfectly. I'd be more than okay with that. :+1:

On PS4 (ill assume it's the same issue on Xbox) playing Survivor, especially SWF you can wait 20 minutes just to even find 1 lobby. Then if the killer dodges you have to repeat. So it's hella frustrating. Do I understand the killer?

I am on PS4 also. I usually play with 1 or 2 other people, so I understand the pain of lobby dodging. I purposely don't equip a flashlight and avoid prestige clothes because people DO dodge and some evenings it is really bad. So as a Survivor, I know the pain.

As a killer, I've maybe dodged a lobby 3-4 times total. Mainly after a rough game against players with flashlights. If I see all 4 people come in at once and they all have flashlights, I just worry that it isn't going to be good for my blood pressure.

Yeah, I am very much the same. If they all show up with Flashlights ill slap on Franklins and see how it plays out. I had a game last week where it was just that, they all had DS as well. After the game they invited me to their party and actually had a good laugh and thanked me for not dodging and taking the game.

It really is an issue, not sure what the solution is since having played so much of both sides the answer isn't simple. One of those things where you got to try to leave your Ego at the door and accept fate.

Holy ######### what do you PS4 people don't understand about certification process anymore?

First off, it takes time to create a build for PS4 / Xbox in order to get to the certification process. Second off - they have to be approved in 2 different companies (3 if you're releasing the update in Japan), then it all goes down to Sony - which will take AGES to approve your update, as had been proven with other games as well. With past patches to DBD as well. Once it gets approved, if it EVEN does in the first place, they'll sometimes go with the "Please wait a few days to release the update" as they did with day-one updates with some companies.

Oh also in case your build has an error / a game crashing bug, you're back to square one, and have to redo it all over again.

If you don't like waiting, and don't want to wait; get another version. Buy an xbone or buy the game on steam. It's not BHVR's fault for the update, yes the DLC took a while, but the DLC and the 2.0.0 update ARE ACTUALLY GOOD! They're relatively bug-free (compared to other patches they released) the killer's not OP, the survivor works nice, the skins are good.

Starbreeze would have had influence, and I bet you my ass the patch would have been released earlier, with no PTB or anything. You know why? They would've pushed for more revenue, and would've pushed BHVR to release the patch and DLC earlier. as they've already done.

So you'll either have a buggy patch, and you'll complain about it - rightfully so.

Or you'll have a relatively bug-free patch, and you'll complain about it - NOT rightfully so.

Don’t pop a blood vessel with all that rage

Well, an example that might clear things up is, you start a lobby and four bloody Claudettes wearing the same outfit spawn in with flashlights. This means that they're probably SWF and your game is going to suck, so you quit the lobby and start a new one. Killers do it to avoid a game they know they're going to lose just by looking at it.

I´ve reached the point where i find 4 toolboxes scarier than 4 flashlights.

It’s it just about I mean this game has been 4v1 this entire time so with that many people have formed their friend group that they play with consistently. Now if they made it a 3v1 people will have to cut someone out of the group in order to play so they’ll need to make a decision. Either they’ll cut someone or they’ll just stick with their friends and go play something else. Not saying it’s a bad idea or anything just that this is something that needs to be thought about when doing something like this

Then we need an incentive to play at high ranks. Maybe more Iridiscent shards or even auric cells, if you reach rank 1. While also splitting between ranked and unranked. If given the choice, most killers will prefer to play vs solo survivors. This could be ranked. While SWF should be unranked unless the killer gets something to compensate for playing against SWF. Maybe more gens or (finally) additional objectives.

Survivors should hit perfect skill checks in order to wake up. This way, he can use some more perks that are completely useless on him.

We know it takes, at max, 80 seconds to do a gen (excluding thanataphobia). Lets assume you find 1 survivor in 10 seconds. Other survivors have found gens that spawned close to them

There are now 75 seconds left on 3 gens. You run through 3 pallets, you are looped the three times and then swing, not respecting, and are stunned. You've wasted 20 seconds looping, you are stunned for 2.1 seconds (without enduring) You break the pallet, taking an additional 1.8 (with Brutal Strength III).

There are now 3 gens, on or about 50 seconds.

Second pallet, repeat the same process.

There are now 3 gens, on or about 25 seconds.

Finally, you are ran around the killer shack for 10 seconds. They do not drop the pallet, they mess the loop and you down them in an optimistic 10 seconds. You have a 2 second pickup animation after the over 1 second cooldown from hitting.

13 seconds left on 3 gens.

Luckily, the killer shack has the basement, you walk down in 5 seconds, you hook over a period of 2 seconds, and walk back up in another five. You leave the killer shack, 3 gens are completed or about to be.

Don't bother. I've mathematically proven that the Killers need buffs because of how quickly gens are finished, and Survivors just ignore it.

Everyone knows that survivors are ridiculously OP while being way to easy.
But as soon as someone proposes something to change that: "you just want easy killer matches".

As long as survivor is a walk in the park, and killer is a stressful experience, there is no balance.

Except with 3 people, 2 are done, and now either 2 or occupied, or the hooked guy dies. It allows a snowball WAY TOO FAST. Example. You have four fingers, (thumb ain’t a finger) but cutting of the ring finger greatly weakens THE REMAINING FINGERS. So it does more damage, then by itself being removed. You can just lower the number of the core mechanic

With only 3 survivors, obviously they would be given ways to be assisted even further in surviving.

OP insisted against that as well. Ludicrous. But yeah, they would need compensation

No, it's not about an easier game. The few times someone disconnected with 5 gens to go, have been amazing matches. Killer hooked everyone twice, no camping. Everyone left with a ton of points and piped.

While 3 minute games, people barely pip and leave with 12-14k bps.

DS, the single most powerful perk as of right now.
And the killer would have to dribble on every down. Giving others the chance to flashlight blind, body block or sabotage the hook. On top of the survivor being able to wiggle out faster.

Would need some good testing whether that would be OP or not. I think it's an idea to be considered.

    What is there OP?
Right now the killer has a 2 second time window, between the gate opening and survivors escaping.
    That´s way to short.

Perks PURPOSE is to block altruistic people and t-baggers who linger, you are meant to be able to escape if you run out instantly. That was never the intention of the perk. Don’t delete the devs opinion, that’s what you said to me, saying “no mither is a hard mode perk”

Why does it require to have someone hooked in order to be triggered?

No. You're just asking to have an easier game. Unless the killer is very bad or goes easy on survivors on purpose, most 3v1 matches (especially with 5 gens to complete) end in a 3k so easily it's not even fun.

No, it's not about an easier game. The few times someone disconnected with 5 gens to go, have been amazing matches. Killer hooked everyone twice, no camping. Everyone left with a ton of points and piped.

While 3 minute games, people barely pip and leave with 12-14k bps.

    Pros: None
    Cons: All

    This is an absurd suggestion.

    Why is this absurd?
Please give me a reason. Because i already explained that right now a high rank match takes 3 minutes or less with 4 survivors. Only when 3 survivors start, the match takes significantly longer and is more enjoyable for all parties. Since it´s not just the gen repair simulator for 3 minutes.

How many games do you actually play that end in 3 minutes?? Why do people keep mentioning the most ridiculous outliers within a time range. I’ve literally been playing killer ALL night and have not had a SINGLE 3 minute game. This “3 minute game thing has turned into a trend more than a fact” look at the numbers.
At what rank? The last 6 games I played I've been gen rushed. First hook = 3 gens.

I'm thinking of the combination of Blood Warden and NOED

If Blood Warden also goes off even if the door wasn't open, I think this could be very, very brutal. Hell, maybe brutal even without NOED.

I might not be thinking correctly as my head is feeling a bit too light right now. So take what I say with a grain of salt.

I think I actually might need to lie down lol

Well it´s an endgame perk that has a one time use and might not even come into play.
Killer wasting a perk slot for the whole match, for a 2 second window is just not liable.
