  • They should just put an icon above person's head in the lobby if they are swf

Yes! Such an easy fix! Us killers can't ######### about swf anymore and we can be free to play against more balanced teams(not being sarcastic. I think it would be great)/

If they are too many lobby dodges they will maybe realize it is an F'd mechanic.

I probably wouldn't lobby dodge 2....But 3-4, with immersed characters and toolboxes/flashlights.....no thank you.
That would be the end of SWF. The devs are not so stupid to introduce this.
  • Or at least a trade in forSOMETHING. Kind of a joke that they aren't worth anything at all after event. That is pretty rare (and dumb) for an online game these days....especially give n the cost.

Jesus....Even when I played MHO, those developers allowed you to trade in event currency.
You stopped playing MHO? How comes?
  • Rule 34 anyone?
  • No, no, no, no, no!
Problem number one: if you play with many different killers, then you'll never reach high ranks.
Problem number two: people would heavily abuse it.

    Do I need more reasons?

    So... why nerf killers?

If they take away 4 mans, then they need to tune down nurse a lil, I agree on that.
But SWF will never be removed (not even 4 mans), so the other killers need to be tuned up to deal with them

Killers need buffs, every killer should be on Billy's level. This also means a small nerf for the nurse while making her easier to play at the same time.

Now survivor mains will claim that killers have long queues, because they are to easy. We'll see how the queues are after the rank reset.

The machine gun nerf was a meaningful nerf.
The exhaustion nerf was only a minor inconvenience.

But the machine gun nerf was more than neccessary, not as much as they did but definitly neccessary. It was pathetic strong, especially on unhook situations and there was no BT yet at that time.

Machine gun nerf ONLY happend, because it was the meta build for killers.
Shall we take a look at survivor meta builds? SB, SC, DS, BT or SB, SC, DS, Unbreakable.

Killers can´t have good builds. Hell, even things that are supposed to reduce camping and thus make the life of survivors easier (BBQ) get nerfed, because survivors complained about it.

  • @brokedownpalace said:
15% reduction for one survivor being injured is basically just a free 15%. Odds are, for the vast majority of the trial, at LEAST one survivor will be hooked or injured. Stacked with Sloppy Butcher it'll be silly. Like 24 seconds to heal someone else or 45ish seconds to self heal? That is not fun gameplay.

The perk should be re-worked entirely. Maybe each time a survivor is hooked, for the next 20/25/30 seconds repairing, healing and cleansing speeds are reduced by 20%. Obviously values could be adjusted but I think a higher % for a more limited time would be fair.

Also, @Tsulan .. gens take 80 seconds to complete, healing takes 16/20/32/40 seconds to complete. Botany gets a much higher % because they are smaller numbers. Something close to 33% would be ridiculous for Thanatophobia. 15% would be completely useless for Botany.

Yeah i know, an actually strong killer perk would be ridiculous...
    Only survivors deserve them.

It's not that bad. You can [BAD WORD] die and still pip.

Yeah, that's what people don't understand. They think they lost when they die with 23k points and a pip. While escaping with 12k point and no pip is a "ez win" for them.

A nerf isn't what's needed, it's a buff to killers once solo is on par with swf you can more easily balance around that. The best way to do that is do it in increments so people get used to it similar to what they're doing now.

You buff solo up in increments towards swf level while also buffing killers up in equal increments or just below solo so solo doesn't get insta nuked.

Buffing killers? Are you mad?! Did you forget all the threads about Freddy being viable that popped up, right after the devs mentioned his rework? Or how the trapper was deemed ez win and hag op after their buff?

Playing to win is just that, you play your best to win but you accept defeat if/when it happens. Try harding is when you play to not lose, to the point that you just kind of delay the inevitable to avoid the blow to your ego. There is a difference. The former type of player will say GG regardless of the outcome. The latter type of player will rage quit and complain about the game when things don't go their way. I was also a game tournament organizer for many years across many games. I've seen some absolute SWEATY TRY HARD players, but in that context it's acceptable because money is on the line. Playing online though there is no such physical reward, yet some people treat the game like there is. Like the one guy that did a hatch standoff for 4 hours. Really what is the point of that? It's just stupid. Absolute waste of time and unnecessary.

See, there at your own example? You said that one guy did a hatch standoff for 4 hours. But that's simply wrong. 2 guys did that standoff. Both wasted their time, because both refused to give the other one the win. But in your book it's only the killer who's tryharding.

It's because at the moment the standoff starts the killer is GUARANTEED to pip, where the survivor is not guaranteed to pip unless they escape. Now yes, after a certain point it's on both players, but the majority of fault lies with the killer since they could just have hit them at the very start to end the stalemate and still pip.

    Context matters.

Nope, the killer isn't guaranteed to pip. Because hatch standoff can happen when the other 3 survivors escaped.

Also, I usually pip as survivor, once I did a gen, unhooked someone and healed him/her.

The standoff requires 2 people and both have the same fault.

That's.... not the situation I'm talking about though. I'm talking about games where killer killed the other 3 and gens are still left to be done. Go ahead, show me a clip of a killer not pipping because they let someone hatch when the other 3 are dead and exit gates aren't powered.

    Again, context matters.

I could show you a screenshot where I did a 4k with Myers and only black piped.

Obviously there are extreme exceptions to everything. Let me guess... you tombstoned/mori everyone after they gen rushed to exit gates?

But, in majority of cases, if you kill >3 survivors you will pip.

Both red addons. Plenty of time for them to do gens.

Hatch shouldn't exist in my opinion. It rewards bad players.
If the team plays so underwhelming, they shouldn't be given a free escape for the last survivor. Same as the killer isn't given a free kill once 3 survivors escaped.

An escape doesn't equal a pip. I can gen rush + escape and black pip.
A kill doesn't equal a pip. As I stated earlier.
Both sides (should) have to work for their pips.
There shouldn't be a "I NEED that escape/kill to pip" moment.
  • Is camping and tunneling broken? Is it ACTUALLY a strategy. Yes it is and no it isn't. I am a prior enlisted Marine, and I know a thing or 2 about strategies. Putting someone on a hook and standing over them instead of going out and hunting down survivors is NOT a strategy but pure laziness and nothing more. It is causing many people to either log out and even uninstall. This is a MATURE rated game and should be played that way instead of playing like 5yr olds and calling it strategy. Camping and tunneling should, in my opinion, be a reportable offence as it is killing the game for many people. The more people get frustrated with this the more people will leave making the game die itself. That is something NO ONE should be fighting for. If people would grow up and use ACTUAL tactics to FIND survivors, the game would be more enjoyable for ALL.
Now apply this same logic to gens.

Oh yes, as killer i would also like to get a notification of every survivor who has DS.
    So I can react accordingly.
  • So it reached right after Halloween...
  • Peanits said:

My thoughts exactly. I think it would be better if it was just a flat rate for any survivor being injured/hooked/dying. Trying to maintain four is not realistically going to happen, and even if it does, there's nothing you can do to keep it that way. The percentage isn't worth the effort of trying to keep it up, but it it was higher and worth keeping up, it would be overpowered and have things spiral wildly out of control.

So I think the best way to go about it is to just give a flat 15% penalty for any survivor being injured, hooked, or dying. Additional survivors don't slow it down any more, they're just a buffer for if the other survivor heals up. That way you're more easily able to apply the effects, but the survivors are also able to get rid of it at a reasonable speed. Not quite as much as dying light, but it's much easier to activate.

It should give a higher bonus. 15%? Show me a survivor meta perk that gives 15% bonus. Even the 33% healing bonus of BK isn't used often. All support perks (prove thyself, BK, Leader, etc.) need a huge buff.

Insert the umpteen million complaints boths sides have, rinse and repeat and you've read the entire forum over 9000 times.

Tunneling is efficient for both sides. Killers slow the match down and survivors have less things to do.

There's no blaming on the bigger picture.

Survivors need additional objectives and might get more time on the hook. Or survivors stay with the current objective and get less time on the hook. Just as examples.

It's a question of who needs to be pressured and why. I think survivors need to be pressured more and the killer less.

Oh I agree and I'm looking forward to the added objective, the devil is of course int the details as they say and how it gets worked in. But do killers really want 10-15 minute matches given the ahem comments about games lasting longer than 6 minutes i've seen on here.

I've enjoyed my longer matches where it's been tense for both sides until the very end and for the most part most of both sides have as well.

15 minute matches would be perfect. 6 minute matches are way to short and a waste of time. Since no one really gets points. A 6 minute match gives something between 9k and 13k points to a escaping survivor. Could be way more.

  • Why do you care about Dying Light?
    That's a useless perk anyway.
Thanataphobia needs a bigger buff to make a difference and Dying Light needs a complete overhaul. By the time it works, there's only 1 gen left to do.
  • The risk vs reward portion is also way riskier for survivors than killers. It's significantly easier to get BP as killer imo. End up losing more if your bring some good addons if the rest of the team feels like throwing :/

No, both sides get approximately the same amount per hour. Survivors can die early but get quickly into a new match, while killers are stuck until everyone is dead or left.

Survivors can also get free item's + addons or at least keep them, unlike the killer who loses everything, even if he wins.

I like where it is. They don't need to even rework Freddy, they just need to let his blocks be stackable and change a few things.

    He doesn't need a "rework".

Talking about Freddy... I know a lot of people ask for a complete rework, but not me. They just need to fix some stuff, like the exploit to heal downed victims without Freddy being able to do anything about it.

And awake survivor have to be removed from hitdetection, so they can't bodyblock.

Along with his power being an interrupt and wake ups during transition, I would be fine.

Freddy needs a rework. His view is way to dark. 7 seconds wait to interact with survivors is to long, cd after sleeping a survivor shouldn't exist, waking up is to easy, etc. Way to many things.

Freddy has to wait for 7 seconds each time he interacts with someone, but survivor freak out if healing takes 4 seconds longer.^^

I'm always amazed by players who blame the killer for trying to kill everyone. Did I miss the memo where this game is about friendship? I agree that hatch standoffs are a waste of time but saying that low self-esteem is what causes people to play the game correctly is insane.

You seem to think that the objective of this game is to get everyone in the round to gain pips but you are wrong. As a killer, the objective is to KILL YOU, the end.

Playing to kill everyone is fine, it's when you sweat so hard for the 4k that you purposely just waste everyone's time to satisfy your ego that it becomes a problem. Like I said, I will slug the third guy to look for the last guy, almost all the time, but I won't drag out the game unnecessarily because I'm so desperate to kill EVERYONE. I can take a 3k and just let the game end, because I'm going to double pip anyway. Too many killers get way too salty when a survivor escapes, especially if they took hatch. It's ridiculous. Killers need to accept that survivors do gens and escape, just like survivors need to accept that they can get hooked and die.

Also, the objective of the game is to get pips, because pips are what define a win in this game. Killing and escaping are not what define a win, they merely contribute to it. I can get 0k as killer and still pip, that's a win. I can do 0 gens and die as survivor and still pip, that's a win. Using any other metric as a win is fantasy. If you want to play to that fantasy go ahead, but don't complain about the game when it doesn't cater to your metric.

The only thing that ruins the fun for me are killers that are so desperate for kills they got full sweaty tryhard pants mode on survivors that are obviously not going to escape. I'm talking about killers that will slug the third guy until they bleed out, with only 2 gens done, so they can 4k when they are still definitely going to 2 pip. Like, does it hurt your ego THAT MUCH to let 1 guy escape? I give hatch away often and still double pip. Sure I'll slug the third guy for a bit to find the last guy, but if it's been a minute and no sign of him coming to save I'll just take the kill, let him hatch, and move on. Too many killers want to drag out the game because they have such low self esteem they can never let anyone escape, even if it means sitting at the hatch for an hour. It's not fun when a killer wastes time like that. The worst are 3 gen Doc's, they will hold the game for 30 minutes at 3 gens rather than commit to a chase and let the game come to an end so we can all get our pips (yes all of us, killer included kills or not at this point doesn't matter), BP, and just move on.

And before anyone says "well just let the killer kill you"... No. If it's a 2 gen hatch game, the killer already pipped and thus already WON the game. If I die I likely won't pip, if I escape I do. Killer is dragging out the game for almost no reason whereas I'm trying to secure a win the only way I realistically can. Trust me if it's a game where I know I pipped regardless I do sometimes let the killer just kill me, but that is rarely the case in such games.

You really have to show me those horror movies that you are watching. Where the killer is fine with just scaring the kids and not really trying to kill everyone.

Do you play betafield or call of beauty? Where you ask the other team to not use grenades, rockets, tanks, etc. Since that would be tryharding.

So, they literally spoke nothing about the killer queues issues...

    Thoughts?

    Rewatch and listen closely:

    1. There is no Matchmaking Bug
    2. This is not a problem mainly caused by the event
    3. You need a ratio of 4:1 for fast queues and there is simply not enough survivors anymore to reach that ratio.

Com got what they deserved. Have fun waiting

You really believe that the queues are bad because survivors got nerfed to hard, and everyone quit?
    LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

Oh boy, I wish survivors would at least get once nerfed like they used to nerf killers. Where they made killer perks completely useless. Instead of those minor nerfs to meta perks, that are still meta.

  • Let me just waste a lot of precious time when someone's getting chased to get rid of potential NOED, which might ultimately be the reason why we didn't win because I looked for totems that were very well hidden or already destroyed, instead of using this time to actually do my objective that not only helps me win the game, but also gives me progress towards emblems unlike dull totems.

It was indirectly nerfed with the healing nerf

But he already named the healing nerf. He counted the same nerf twice.

I was referring to your statement not his hence why i quoted you so my statement is still correct.

Then you are taking things out of context.

What´s next, counting every single pallet as a separate nerf?

That's a pretty weak Straw Man considering you know for a fact I never said anything remotely close to that.

Again, taking things out of context.

    Ds hasn't been nerfed.

I never said it has, again Straw Mans are beneath you.

Out of context, since i was refering to that DS nerf, which never happend.

They're trying to get it right so it works for both sides.

Until the nerf is live, there hasn´t been any DS nerfs. Or can we close the hatch, or do survivors have inbuild kindred? Devs talk a lot...

My statement still stands as correct and good grief give up on the Red Herrings, now you're just plain trolling.

You sure it´s not YOU who is trolling right now? You hijacked the conversation between 2 other players and claim that my comments are wrong and now trolling?

Exhaustion nerf only affected a tiny amount of the playerbase.

Tiny is your estimation since SB was one of the most top used perks or did you forget you and the other killer mains posting stats that claimed that?

I never claimed that i like the exhaustion nerf. Never claimed that it would change anything.
But sure, go ahead and search where i made that statement.

That'd be incorrect since survivors make up the majority of the player base and as you killer mains always like to point out. Most groups run SB or another exhaustion based perk.

Exhaustion only affected survivors which were able to use SB more than once in the same chase. That amount of the playerbase IS really small. I never managed to trigger it twice in a chase, could you?

Yet your own statements and the statements of other killers mains contradicts what you just claimed. You all claimed that it was being triggered more than 1x during a chase and that's why it needed to be nerfed. As for me triggering it 2x yes i did do it.

    Again, search me that comment.

Pallets are not supposed to be safe. You get 1000 points for hitting space. As much as a unsafe hook, almost as much as a complete gen. There should be some risk involved.

That's not really accurate and is quite misleading since you only get those 1k points for hitting space if you actually get the stun to land. That unsafe unhook though makes you lose those points when the person gets rehooked. So yes there's quite a bit of risk involved since you run the risk of getting hit and or downed.

Risk vs reward. You risk getting hit, in hope of getting those tasty 1000 points. If you drop the pallet ealier, you won´t get the points, but you don´t risk getting hit.

You still risk getting hit regardless, you only don't get hit if you drop it too earlier but the risk is still there because you might drop it too late.If you drop it too early you just wasted the pallet and you get no tasty points.

What part of "risk vs reward" didn´t you understand?

Game has been survivor sided for over 2 years and still is. Better prepare for more changes.

The game is survivor sided except at high ranks where it's heavily killer sided to the point of being op yet killers don't complain about it. The changes are slowly making things better but when the game is finally where it should be close to what will you still complain?

I think you mixed up the ranks. Game is only killer sided on the noob ranks. Mid and high ranks are heavily survivor sided.

No I didn't you and most of the other killers always refer to ranks 1-5 which are low numbers as low ranks whereas ranks 15-20 are high numbers thus high ranks. Whether it's high or low numbers the noob ranks is killer sided.

So the game should be balanced around the guy who played less than 10 hours?
Great idea! I mean, what could possibly go wrong?
Lets give every killer the Freddy treatment and nerf them into the ground! Since rank 20 players die to often.
That way we´ll also fix the killer queues. Killers will get instant lobbies.

Survivor have these weird doublestandards which come from the wrong assumption that the killer is the powerrole of the game and would not need to use all the tools available.
Survivor "need" to use every cheesy crutch they can get, but killer should play "fair" and give them extra chances.
This is far from the truth, but they either don't get it or deny it even if they know it.

And Killers have a victim complex. They act all "woe is me" acting like they have it so hard and how survivors need nerfs and how they're honourable nice killers and they want everyone to get along and not be toxic.

Then you get games where 2/3 people spawn in and the killer still tunnels the hell out of everyone and causes hatch stand offs.

Really? 2 people disconnect early, and when it comes down to the final person you're still going to cause a hatch standoff? How desperate are you for a 4k.

Then we've seen their true colours from this event. Pulling people off plants for easy kills, people giving up on hooks but killers still tunneling the hell out of the few remaining survivors, hags trapping plants.

They get healing changes too to slow down the game. Good right? So what happens? They just tunnel harder and continue to cry that gens get done too fast.

Survivors need cheesy crutches? And I guess killers facecamping and then using NOED to clean up the rest is a legit strategy though right?

This victim narrative needs to end. Killers can be as dirty and toxic as the survivors they face.
I can shed some light on this issue. Since you keep complaining about it.
I used to let survivors farm, finish their gens, hit me with the pallets, let them escape, etc. Just to give everyone points.
My reward? "I made a video of you farming, enjoy your ban" or "gg ez, killer couldn't even kill is when 2 missed" or "lul noob killer".

So this might explain why killers prefer to end the game quickly instead of dragging it out and get insulted afterwards.

You should be mad at the other survivors, not at the killer.

  • Well it's not really hard to 4k at rank 20...
  • I admit I haven't read all the answers. So if this has already been covered...

If you start banning for camping, you'll soon end up without killers. Since survivors consider that the killer is face camping, when he's 40+ meters away.

    So, how about no?

It's a mixed feeling. I have fun and really enjoyable matches but I also have terrible matches that just make me want to quit the game and calm down. Solo games: (60% of the time) 1) Dead by Teammates, just plain bad teammates who crouch all game and refuse to do any gens. Mates get downed within 10 seconds of the chase, always have to save them. 2) Actually get a good team but this time the killer is a God Nurse with NOED. Q: Which game was more fun? A: That's right. Both were bad. Don't gen rush.

    NOED only affects gen rushers.

Also, if it would have been a God nurse, then you wouldn't have reached the gate powered phase.

I'm playing solo all the time, because my friends got burned out.

I don't get the point if "good game when I survive" and "bad game when I die".

I escaped with 13k points, Black pip = good game?

I died with 22k points, piped = bad game?

That doesn’t make sense. “Don’t gen rush.” Doing generators is the survivors ONLY objective. It’s like telling the killer “Don’t hook everybody too fast”. What else are survivors supposed to do? Enjoy the scenery of the swamp and wait for Mr. Leatherface to come their direction and sacrifice them? Again...generators are the SOLE objective for survivors. “Don’t gen rush.” Whatever you say.

By that logic, camping doesn't exist. Since the KILLER is doing his ONLY objective: KILLING!

    You guys are hilarious, btw.

Camping is a strategy to ensure a kill. There are other ways to kill. Camping is a viable strategy to ensure a kill. You can also slug, mori, or just sacrifice. Killing is the only thing killers have to do to win but there are MANY ways to kill.

Survivors have one thing to do and that is hold M1 and fix a generator. Don’t be so defensive over survivors gen rushing when fixing generators are the only thing they have to do.

Your logic makes no sense by telling survivors not to gen rush when they’ve got ONE objective to do. If a killer has to camp to ensure their kills then so be it, it is what it is.

Your gen rushing “logic” isn’t even hilarious, it’s just a pathetic attempt at making up for certain killers bad gameplay. No tea no shade 🤷🏼‍♂️

Lol survivors have only 1 thing to do?
So no totems, chests, unhooks or heals?
This gets funnier by the minute.

Look at the OBJECTIVE category on the end screen. It only counts for generators and chest loots. There isn’t much that survivors HAVE to do to escape besides gens and opening the exit door. You don’t HAVE to heal teammates (especially because everybody runs Self Care) nor do you HAVE to unhook. You could let everybody die and find the hatch. It’s not a necessity. Obviously survivors unhook each other, heal each other, and loot chests but they aren’t considered objectives.

You can find everything to be funny but honestly it’s not...it’s just another attempt to blame a killers bad gameplay on gen rushing when it is only thing survivors HAVE to do to escape.

Can't blame the killer for playing bad, if you don't unhook or do totems.
In that case survivors are playing bad. Buuuut as always, they'll blame the killer.

Never came. So I wouldn't get hyped about the changes until you actually see them.

Those are drastically different from a killer rework. You're talking about major game-changers that devs have been working on for a long time. A one killer rework is most likely doable in 2-3 months.

I take Wraith Cube for 500.
Question: what hyped rework was really disappointing?

I'm pretty sure BHVR had some sort of company/financial problem all throughout late 2017 and early 2018.
Not a lot happened that was major in any way from 1.5.0 to the emblem update. (1.9.4?) You couldn't have expected anything of worth from them during that time. Just a hunch though.

I still wouldn't get hyped. Freddy was nerfed 1 year ago and shortly after they recognized it was a mistake. Fixing that mistake shouldn't take long...

Lol DS has plenty of counters! proceeds to name exactly 1, that only reduces the stun time

Yeah, that's totally a counter. Like cleansing totems to completely avoid the spawning of NOED... oh wait, no it's not.

You can dribble, that's 2 as well as maneuver them to a better spot before downing them so that ds becomes useless.

You can dribble 15 meters. Unless you are close to a hook, DS has no real counter.
    DS rewards bad players.
    NOED punishes gen rushers.
Those are 2 different things, but most people seem to think they are the same.

    3) unerving presence
    4) swing around
Also you should get yourself downed either near pallet or some good loop in hope that you MAY hit DS to get good use of perk and killer may just leave you there and get use of it. So killer doesnt suffer from ds.

So a slightly more difficult "skill" check and playing the lottery (because the hit animation would have at the exact moment of the skill check) are your counters?

    *claps slowly*
Yeah those REALLY are as effective as simply cleansing totems to avoid NOED.
    *facepalm*
